Eccentric Hunters [Katherine and Venir]

Katherine was amused with the whole scenario that was around her and chuckled at the enthusiasm of the girl as everything was said and done. However when the angel heard that the bandit was going to tell them about the traps, katherine paused and wanted to intervene. However Venir took care of treasure hunter before she could react. Oh well, at least they knew about traps in this ruins up a mountain. Katherine shook her head and proceeded to walk in the cave, "Really how bad can these traps be? Adventurers don't fear anything!" Katherine wiped her blade off the coat of one of the downed bandits and proceeded to walk inside the ruins. She was merrily coming along with the adventurer spirit in her hear and her knowledge of ancient cultures. Age came wisdom... but maturity never ever really developed. That came with experience, but when ones emotions and memories dulled... It reverses all developed maturity one will have.

Katherine stepped into the cave and felt a cold breeze ensue through, that meant one thing... Katherine perked up, "Feel that breeze? That means there is multiple entrances in this ruin. Whether they were constructed or made by erosion we will find out. I wonder what the first Wizard Saints had in store for here that they had to keep it out of prying hands? Maybe its a doomsday weapon for all we know!" Katherine chuckled slightly as she put the blade away and the armor seemed to have simply dissolved into her old clothes. In reality they were stored in a sort of pocket dimension that Katherine could cast, not unlike requip. However the truth of that matter is that it was actually something else... A magic that Katherine forgot a long time ago...

"Shall we proceed as planned? Please make sure to grab one of their light sources, it looks like its very dark inside.~"

"That's right we don't fear anything!" Venir echoed her bad habit of often forgetting her own fears making itself known. At least Venir thought the two of them were invincible. Feeling the cold breeze the bikini clad mage couldn't help but shiver as she listened to Katherine. "Multiple entrances? Let's hope there's no other treasure hunters lurking around! This treasure I'd as good as ours! Whatever it is!" Much like Katherine, Venir didn't have the faintest idea ad to what the wizard saints of old might have hidden within the temple. Although a doomsday weapon seemed a little farfetched to the half-insane female mage, "Maybe it's a bunch of gold or ooooh maybe clothes or-" Venir rambled on and on another bad habit of her's.

At least in her ramblings she heeded Katherine's words and took a torch off a wall and kept it close, the flames providing warmth. As the two walked they came upon a crossroads of sorts. "Hmmmm there's a breeze coming down from this one!" Venir pointed beginning to walk down it when suddenly there was no longer any ground beneath her feet! "Ahhhhhhhhh!" She creamed as she fell. Luckily it was not a long drop and Venir hit the ground, butt first. "Ouch!" She groaned griping around for her fallen torch but instead grasped something scaled and slithering. "Katherine!!!!!" Panic was heavy in her voice as she screamed sounding about ready to cry. The pinkette scrambled to her feet while simultaneously grabbing the torch waving it about frantically to keep the...snakes at bay. There was countless snakes of various colors and sizes. While she didn't necessarily have a particular fear for the creatures she was able to grasp that this was not a good situation to be in. "Snakes why'd it have to be snakes?" She half-sobbed as she waved the torch once more sending the scaled creature back a bit before slithering closer once more.

"Why would you hide gold though? Whats the point of having money if you are not going to spend it? That is why I think rich people spend such pointless and materialistic lives. They focus so much on collecting wealth that they do not spend time living life! It is what this bodies adoptive parents did not understand. I did not want to be rich, there is a desire to be happy and make others happy! What do you think Ve-"

The moment was interrupted when a hole collapsed underneath their feet, this was obviously one of the traps that this ruin had. Katherine instinctively pulled open her wings and broke the fall, but her partner was not so lucky. Plummeting into the ground for a few feet before gently floating up in the air. What was the point of all this? What secrets did this place have? Looking down at the ground she saw the faint light of the torch and movement on the ground.  What were they? Snakes, it had to be snakes wriggling and coiling around. A question popped in Katherines head though, "How are all of these snakes living? What do they do? Cannibalize each other? Oh not to scare you or anything Venir, but all the snakes here are poisonous. Try not to get one bitten.~" Katherine descended down into the tomb softly from her perch and wanted to grab Venir and pull her out. However one false move and they could react as a threat and attack. Slowly and gently was the key as her arms wrapped around Venir's belly. It would be okay, they would make it. Katherine eyes looked up to only see the massive sized of a 100 foot long snake slithering straight towards the pair with intention to strike!

"Oh dear..."

It seemed Katherine was just as bad when it came to rambling. The difference between the two was that Venir's incessant talking was often meaningless and silly, a jumble of random thoughts with no filter to speak of. Katherine on the other hand talked just as much as Venir did only in a more philosophical and questioning way. While under normal circumstances Venir would be hanging off of every word Katherine said about money or even about how the snakes survived, now was not the time for her to do so.

"Katherine!" Venir looked up at the angel with tears in her eyes, knowing the snakes were poisonous didn't exactly make her feel much better. Waving about the torch more frantically the snaked hissed and snapped, the pinkette narrowly avoiding the serpents. Just when she thought that Katherine was going to let her die down there with a bunch of snakes, a pair of hands wrapped themselves around her toned belly. "Oh my goddess thank you Katherine!" The woman cried with tears of pure joy now that she was getting rescued by her teammate. "Huh?" She asked at Katherine's 'Oh dear'. When she turned to see what the woman was gazing at, Venir's once relieved expression dropped into one of pure horror. "We're gonna die!" She wailed at the sight of the massive snake. It was long and black, it's scales shining off the small light that the torch gave off, she had no doubt a snake of that size could swallow the two of them whole. "Katherine! We need to go it looks hungry!" The creature was pulling back getting ready to make a quick strike to make a quick meal of the two mages. "Go away snakey! We're not yummy!" Venir could careless now about the smaller snakes slithering about her ankles inspecting her, those were nothing compared to the massive serpent. Unfortunately, it would be up to Katherine to get the two of them out of the pit which left Venir completely at the angels mercy.

"Indeed it looks very hungry.  I can't imagine its  nutrition very good being down here with nothing to eat. Worse part about these snakes is that it can take weeks to digest. Oh please dont freak out, but there is not wind here so we most likely going to get eaten. Hard to fly straight up without that help."

The issue was wind ensured that the wings had something to grab. So having no wind to hold up wings made it so the angel had to flap harder and faster. However holding Venir was the problem, added weight made the ascent sluggish. The snake caught up to the 2 of them easily and swallowed the 2 easily. There was no time to react, but luckily a snakes digestion was slow and there was more than enough room to maneuver inside. So holding Venir with one hand and Maelstromic Retribution in the other, the angel plunged the blade from the inside. Organs, bloods and flesh flew everywhere as the angel sawed her way out. After a good 15 minutes with the snake thrashing around, Katherine got out of the hole and flew up to the hole again very slowly. She was not frantic, but tired when she got to the top.

"Been a while since I last got eaten. Lets not- Whats that sound?" Katherine turned around to see that from behind them a giant boulder was rolling down the hallway with the intent to crush them. Katherine was tired, but quickly pulled Venir up on her feet and pushed her to start running. This was not a good day, what was so dangerous here that required so many traps? Katherine was running as fast as her legs could carry her, but would it be enough? Would this be the end of the adventurous duo?

"Don't freak out!? How can I not freak out!?" Venir countered back before sobbing once more as the snake opened its jaws wide and taking the two mages inside of its mouth. It was a strange sensation getting swallowed, and it was not one that Venir would like to repeat again. It was slimy and uncomfortably warm within the snake as they traveled down its esophagus. A sizzling sound made Venir glance down her body causing her to yelp, "Oh my goddess the stomach acids are melting away my bikini! This was my favorite on to!" Venir whined and attempted to hold up the tattered remains of her bathing suit before glancing over to Katherine who's clothes were doing the same. "What are we gonna do without clothes!?" Of course the half-insane mage was more worried about her favorite bikini rather than getting digested. At least that's what Katherine was there for...

The woman cut the two out of the snake with more blood and guts then Venir cared to see but at least they weren't getting digested.....Though Venir did do a double take at Katherine when she mention something about getting eaten, how many times has Katherine been eaten exactly? Deciding that she better not ask Venir instead tried to brush away the snake guts off of her."Well aren't we just stunning?" Venir laughed as Katherine flew the two of them up and out of the snake pit. Half-digested clothes and covered blood the adventurous pair made a sight for sore eyes. Before either mage could stop to recover from the snake ordeal a sudden rumbling made Venir turn and glance at the cause. A sudden push from Katherine had Venir running for her life but as she ran. Only there was a slight problem....

"I'm really tired....."Venir huffed out her feet dragging, the caffeine all but gone out of her system. Between the two of them they were so worn out it was hard to say if they'd make it out of the ruins alive. It seemed a disastrous sort of luck was on their side as the ground beneath the tired women's feet crumbled. The two went falling down into a room filled with countless treasures, the boulder following them of course.

Katherine just sighed hard as she continued to push Venir down the tunnel. The boulder cathing up as the girl in front of her was getting slower. This was not good and the angel resorted to picking her up wedding style and continuing to run in a single fluid motion. Katherine was tired, but adrenaline was kicking in and pushed her human body to the limits in an attempt to outrun the boulder. Each step barely pushing them farther apart. Katherine kept the mood fairly light by saying, "You know if people saw us how we are right now, they will start talking. That is how rumors start you know dear.~" She chuckled slightly as she ran like the angel that she was. Eventually the floor cracked open again and they fell through. This was just not their day it seems as the boulder was falling right behind them. This was it a final desperate act as she could not stall the boulder any longer. She dropped Venir turned around and grabbed her blade. It unfolded into a single fluid motion as Katherine slashed at it straight down the middle. It caused several bones in her arm to shatter as the limit on this human body was at the breaking point. The pain was incredible, but the boulder was cut in twain and flew off in opposite ends of the room. Katherine's arm was useless now though, a sacrifice needed for survival.

Katherine looked at the wreck of her arm as it laid limp on the side, it was twisted in a wrong way and bones were sticking out. The pain was enough to cause Katherine to gasp under her breath, it was agonizing. However she must press on or they would get caught in another trap. Katherine muttered, "No matter what this treasure is, its not going into a museum."

Venir let out a yelp as Katherine picked her up, bridal style. The pinkette was blushing like a school girl from the action and Katherine's teasing words only caused the crimson to blaze even more on her cheeks. "Now's not the time to be saying that Kat!" Venir yelled at the woman and her antics. Leave it to Katherine and Venir to be running from a boulder while discussing how rumors might start about them. When they fell through and the boulder came with them, Venir did not expect to get dropped nor did she expect Katherine to destroy the boulder at the cost of her arm.

The pinkette hit the ground with a hard thud, feeling the ground crack beneath her. "Ow!" She groaned momentarily thankful that she was a mage causing her to be a little more durable than the average person. Still the fall hurt enough to take her a few moment to recover her wits. "Katherine!" She finally yelled out dashing over to her teammate who was not to far off. "I don't think right now is the time for making these kinds of comments." Venir sighed at Katherine but did agree somewhat. There was no way in hell they were leaving this place without something cool to take back and make all of the disaster worth it. "We need to do something about your arm!" Though neither of them seemed to know healing magic so fixing it was easier said than done. "Wait! Just wait here! I bet the wizard saints must have left something around here that can fix that!" It was a small hope at best but Venir dashed off to go searching through the piles of treasure that surrounded them. Most of it seemed to be gold coins just as Venir had initially suspected but while searching she found random things here and there, all of which she tossed at her team mate. "Maybe in this chest? Or maybe this piece of cloth? What about this book?" Each object was haphazardly tossed in Katherine's general direction in some vain hope that one of them could heal Katherine's arm or at least could be used as some sort of sling.

"Oh I do not mind the rumors, it is a lot more fun when they start to flower and go wild. With my cute body and your sexy butt, they would spread like wildfire. Ooh maybe I should start it and have a good laugh.~" Katherine was just mildly screwed up in that fact that it was not traumatizing to her, but to the girl in her presence. It was fun to tease after all. However Katherine winced slightly as she slowly started to poke the pieces of bone back in her body. They needed to go back in if her regenerating DNA were to kick in. Katherine sighed as she started to look at everything. Gold, of course there was so much gold here. What got Katherine however was not the valuables, but an old man clad in armor with sword in his hand.

"HALT AND EXPLAIN YOU INTENTIONS TRESPASSERS!

"Treasure hunting in the nude, what did you think we were doing?"

At that moment the old temple guardian had a massive nosebleed and tried to look away from the 2 girls. Turning away he tried to not look at Katherine, but instead lookd at Venir which caused the nostril hemorrhage to become worse. Eventually the old Guardian clutched at his chest and fell to the ground. He would the grab even harder and then expire which caused Katherine to sweat drop. Apparently looking at Katherine caused a nosebleed, but Venir caused a heart attack. Apparently that settled the 'who was sexier' scenario for Katherine. Looking at Venir with mock shock in her eyes Katherine said, "Venir I think you killed the man with your sexiness. Venir, I now respect your ability to kill temple guardians now with your body."

What rank was this woman again if she could beat Wizard Saint without using a single spell?

"Katherine!" The woman had Venir blushing again and trying to cover her backside, "Don't say that kind of stuff at least not while we're working! At least wait till we got home!" Honestly, the two of them were like a married couple. Blushing furiously the pinkette continued to dig around the piles of treasures until a loud booming voice stopped her. "Huh?" She turned around and saw an old man of sorts, presumably the guardian of the ancient treasure trove of the wizard saints of old. Her first thought was to panic considering both her and Katherine's tired and more or less beaten up states. However the man's reaction to Katherine made all of Venir's panic go away. "He's an old pervert?" She face palmed, leave it to her and Katherine's chaotic luck to get an old perverted geezer as the guardian of the treasure trove.

Worst of all much to Venir's horror the man turned his gaze from Katherine, to Ven herself. "What!?" Shock was written across her face as the man's nosebleed got worst and he clutched his chest. When he fell to the ground Venir could only stand there in shock covering herself up to the best of her abilities. "Oh my goddess Katherine! Now's not the time!" Just like that Venir was bushing like a school girl all over again. Before the two could flirt anymore there was yet another interruption.


The gemstone hunter had appeared at the top of the hole in which they had crashed through. Apparently he had woken up after getting knocked out by Katherine initially and had followed them in. He clutched his bleeding nose in one hand and pointed at the two nude Eclipse Soul mage below, in accusation. "Oh geez~! Looks like he has an eye for you Kat!" Venir winked tiredly unable to believe as to how they got themselves in such a mess.

Katherine chuckled as she was going back to business trying to mend her arm and finding treasure. It would be all well and good if the darn interruptions were not constantly coming! Katherine heard the voice which made her turn around and cause the floor to be sprayed with even more crimson. Katherine narrowed her eyes and sighed, "Honestly Venir I think if we wait 10 more seconds, he will bleed out without having me stab him. Maybe if we strike a few more poses we can end him faster." Katherine chuckled as she unfolded the blade once again. It was hungry as the crystal mage shot shards straight at her and Katherine deflected them with her blade, she was having balancing issues. The limp arm was not making it easy to commit 100% that she normally gave. However that was the fun part of it. The challenge, the excitement and the adrenaline. She could almost feel emotions for the first time in a long while! Katherines heartbeat accelerated as she struck blow after blow at the mage. This was so much fun!

Katherine parried a few blows from a crystal sword and matched the mage sword strike by sword strike. It was a matter of time till Katherine won, so she looked at Venir and hoped she was not standing around gawking. If she was however, "You are looking at me if this was my first naked sword fight. Honestly let me take care of him and you find that treasure okieday?~" Katherine kicked the man in the gut and followed with a strike, it would be done sooner but the arm was holding her back. She could feel the popping, the cracking and the flesh melding together slowly. It wouldn't finish before the fight was over though...

"Heh..."

Venir laughed thinking Katherine was serious so she did strike a pose or two but as Venir had said the man seemed to favor Katherine. After a few moments the pinkette realized her teammate was no actually serious about posing so she quickly stopped. "Wait your arm!" She called out sliding down the pile of treasures before stopping just at the base of the golden pile. Just as she was about to dash in to help Katherine the woman stopped as her teammate told her not to help. Venir wanted to get this over with as quickly as possible but felt almost guilty letting her guild mate take on that guy by herself especially with her arm like that. "Then again I don't really wanna get in between Katherine and what she's attack when she had that look on her face." Venir had yet to see the woman so focused on an opponent, nor had she seen Katherine look so excited to battle before. She supposed the woman must have liked a challenge so Venir did not get in the way but always remained near by just in case Katherine needed anything.

Climbing back up the mountain of treasure, Venir glanced about as she climbed. "Golden breast plate? Shiny sword? A book? Am I allowed to take an entire treasure chest does that count as one thing?" She muttered to herself occasionally glancing back to check on Katherine. The pinkette reached the top of the pile of treasure but she stubbed a toe on an ornate shield causing her to topple over onto the other side of the pile. Tumbling down she created a small landslide of treasure that partially buried her when she reached the bottom of the pile. "Ow!" She groaned, coins, armor, and other treasure did not make for a soft landing. Hearing the sounds of Katherine's battle but not seeing it made her worried so Venir attempted to pull herself out of the pool of treasure. "What's this?" She mumbled, she had grabbed onto something to try and pull herself out of the treasure but instead that something gave way to her hand. Another tiny land slide occurred, leaving her buried up to the waist in treasure but what caught her attention was a card that had slipped out of the pile of treasure....

Katherine eventually got the upper hand as she eventually stabbed the man in the shoulder and twisted. That would damage his ligaments as she kicked him off. That was one strike and she paid for it by catching a crystal shard in the arm. By now the arm had lost all feeling so it mattered little, but Katherine smacked the man with the handle of the sword. That caused the leader of the treasure hunters to be knocked out. It did not matter to Katherine if they did not get rich from this, but getting the Wizard Saint item of their hands was the priority. Katherine walked over to Venir and lifted her from the treasure pile. She felt it though, sensitive to magical items made Katherine recognize the cards having powerful magic. Katherine sighed, "Those are it! Good job Venir. Now we can-" As if fate really hated the 2 of them, a man wearing a brown jacket with a matching Fedore walked in the room. He was armed with nothing but archaeological equipment and a whip, but one could tell the adventurous spirit withing him. He pointed a finger accusingly at the 2 of them

"Wait those cards belong in a museum!"

"Yeap that confirms it, let's go."

"Wait but-"

It was then that the man finally noticed the state of clothes that the 2 girls were in, but the nosebleed that came afterwards was incredible. But it was only after seeing Venir did the man take off to the ceiling like if his nose was a blood rocket and pasted him there. After about 5 seconds of awkward silence, he fell to the floor and was passed out cold. There was much to be learned from this girl..."Venir! That was incredible! Teach me how to do that! PLEASE!"

Slight relief flooded over the girl as Katherine came into view, slightly beaten up but alive. Venir grinned as she was lifted out of the treasure, no longer worried that she was going to sink to the bottom of it like quicksand. "Thanks! Look!" She shared the card with Katherine, it seemed to be in pristine condition, the image on the card hadn't faded in the slightest. The girl was on the card was beautiful to say the least, but on the back there was inscription of sorts in runes that Venir could not read nor understand. "Hey do you know what these say?" Venir showed Katherine the back of the card with the inscription and magic circle.

At that moment the strange man had appeared taking Venir's attention away from the card and her partner. "No you can't take this!" She didn't know why she felt so protective about the treasure but she simply could not let the fedora wearing man take the card, even if he did appear incredibly cool with his whip and very stylish fedora. She clutched the card to her bare chest as if it would stop the man but it seemed like that wouldn't be the case. The fedora wearing adventure had a massive nosebleed, skyrocketing into the air and coming right back down, knocked out cold from blood loss. "What on earth?" Venir blinked unable to comprehend the strange power of hers, "Perhaps I should go on more missions naked?" Venir wondered aloud before sneezing. "I could get sick if I go around naked all the time scratch that." She turned her green gaze to Katherine laughing slightly, "I'm not really sure how I do it? I bet you could to if you tried!" Venir gave the woman a happy wink, still clutching the card protectively, "What about your treasure?"After all Katherine deserved some treasure as well after everything they went through. "Hurry and pick so we can get you all patched up and get home!" It would be bad if they made the other guild members worry.

Katherine simply smiled slightly and laughed at the whole innocent scenario that was between the two. Katherine looked at Venir for a bit and then at all the treasures. She could choose a treasure that would make her powerful, but instead shook her head. Katherine answered, "No the man is right, most of these items belong in a museum as part of Fiore's history. Taking away anymore would deny Fiore their treasure. So let's take that deck of cards and leave the rest for this stud of a man to pick up later. That is my treasure." Katherine chuckled and winked at Venir before proceeding towards the exit of the ruins and to the glorious sunset. It was a very profitable day that Katherine had, but what not? What was in store for the duo now.

Katherine would proceed to walk down the mountain, but if asked why she couldn't simply fly. The angel would blush strawberry red and breathed heavenly. Venir would finally found what embarrassed Katherine in that moment. Katherine stammered, "B-but my arm is sore an-and its impolite for a nu- I just feel embarrased with my wings out like how I am okay?" It caused her to shake her head and proceeded to practically run from Venir in embarrassment. Teasing her along the way she said back to her, "Besides I need to be careful of your nosebleed assassin move x. So far nobody has been able to endure it without major blood loss or death." Katherine chuckled at the thought as she hid from bushes to bushes until the 2 arrived to the Phoenix Mountains and towards the place the called home: Eclipse Soul. Katherine stretched her back and walked through the front door as if it was a casual day in Eclipse Soul and there was really nothing special. They were both crazy after all!

Venir frowned at the woman's words. Katherine did have a point and it almost made Venir feel guilty about taking the treasure for herself. Yet at the same time something within her made her feel as if she couldn't just leave the cards there, as if she just had to have them. Besides she hadn't figured out what the inscription on the back said anyways, and for whatever reason she was more than a little curious about it. The girl didn't have much time to ponder her sudden want for the treasure as Katherine took off. There was no way in hell that Venir was going to get caught in the ruins for a moment longer than necessary. Who knew what else might come wandering in there and having a nosebleed if she stayed for a moment longer?


Jumping over the handsome unconscious man Venir chased after Katherine. The trip out wasn't nearly as bad as getting in the ruins was, they didn't run into any horrendous traps like the initial run through. However, as the two walked Venir couldn't help but wonder why they just didn't fly back. So of course Venir inquired and Katherine's response had Venir giggling like a school girl. "Come back here~!" Venir managed to scramble up the energy to chase after Katherine carefully throwing her arms about the woman giving her a hug, not reall caring about their current state of dress. "Don't make me use my secret powers on you Katherine!" Venir half-threatened half-teased before releasing the woman.


It was nightfall by the time the two naked women reached Eclipse Soul. By the time the two stepped through the guild doors Venir was ready to collapse from exhaustion. "That was fun!" Sleep was heavy in her voice as she continued on not caring if any of the other guild members saw her naked. "We should go on more adventure's Katherine!... But first I should go sleep..." Which is exactly what she did right into one of the guild chairs, mumbling to herself sleepily, while holding the cards to her chest protectively.

Katherine was exhausted after a hard day of work. This was going to be a final adventure for some time. Katherine got to her room and took a hot shower, put on some pajamas and went to bed. She was tired and exhausted, but honestly this was the way to live. To make every day an adventure unlike tomorrow. However there certainly was dangers to be had, the pain of nearly losing an arm to injury still was aching her. The pain would be gone in the morning, but it acted as a reminder of how fragile the mind was. Katherine was ready to shut her eyes again when there was a noise outside. It was not like anything that she heard in this lifetime. She knew what is was, the whisper of the Angel of Death. Her time on this world was coming soon, the gods have finally sent their kill order for defying them one too many times. Did she have any regrets? No. Fears? No. Did she want to die? Absolutely not! However death came for all eventually and angels were no exception to this fact. So why fight it? Was it not easier to accept it?

Katherine sleep was peaceful, of acceptance of ones fate. However there was still much that she wanted to do in this world. So she would have to start treating every day like if it was her last day on Earthland. For angels do not get an afterlife if they died, their souls dissipated and become the essence of heaven. No pain, no eternal reward. Just oblivion awaited them. Humans were lucky to be blessed with mutability... of change. It affected their minds, body and souls. Angels.... had difficulty changing or adapting to new stimuli. They were supposedly and eternally immutable... So why did Katherine felt different lately? Why was she starting to...

"...feel."
