Job Requirements: Two male D-Rank mages or two female D-Rank mages, act as though you are a noble.
Job Description: You are to be the dates for a noble or two nobels to a ball. They couldn't get dates do to a few complications of their attitude. We would be truly happy if you can change the young lady's/gentlemen's attitudes so they are no longer so rude. The young ladies/men were never like this while their mother was alive, but after the loss of her they suffered a great deal of hardships and they changed from the sweet little girls/boys they were to the rude women/men now. It would be great if they can smile again.

Her eyes twinkled like the stars in the night sky, a smile so bright people would become cheerful even just from staring at her, as if her smile was contagious. The young girl curled her locks of hair on her finger and twirled her body around. She looked beautiful, for the first time. Staring right back at her from the mirror was a reflection of a tiny girl in a white silk dress. The dress embraced her body just perfectly and the girl loved it. It was her first time wearing a dress though she didn't actually expect herself to look fairly good in one. The girls who had helped her tried out the dress threw compliments at her. A slight blush rose her cheeks.

Finally, Hika walked out of the dressing room and sat on a chair waiting for 'certain' person to come see her. Her client. Yes, she was on a job to be the date of a noble to a ball. A little surprising that she'd be doing these kind of jobs since she's not interested in balls and whatnot. Hika tapped her heels on the ground, anticipating what kind of noble would she meet.

Blowing out her golden bangs, she waited patiently. Soon after, the door to her room creeped open as her eyes flicked towards the direction of the door. A sturdy and striking young man walked into the room, his brows creased as if he's pissed off with something. "I told you, Bridget. I don't wanna do this thing," He whined but fell silent immediately when the lady hissed something into his ear. Hika got up from her seat, slightly confused and walked over to them. "Umm. Hello. I'm guessing you are my client, ma'am. I'm Hikari." She smiled and bowed at them, her legs shaking a bit. She was not quite sure what to do at this moment.

The young woman turned back at her and flashed her a smile. A wave of relief rushed over Hika. "Oh, yes. Call me Bridget, please." She placed a hand over the boy's back. "I was wondering if you could be his date for today. The ball is starting in a couple of hours so I guess you two should go off and spend sometime together to get to know each other," She shooed both of them out of the room before whispering something into Hika's ear. "It would be great if you could change his rude attitude as well, Hika," Bridget grinned and closed the door behind her. Hika blinked and stared straight ahead. Oh, rude people. Have met a few. I can deal with them easily, She thought, being confident about herself.

"Hey, Flat-chest. What the hell are you doing? Aren't we supposed to go somewhere, Flat-chest?" Her eyebrows twitched as she shot a glare at him. Or not.

After she spent all her time preparing to look, at least, good for him, all she received was a 'Flat-Chest'?! That bastard, Hika cursed as she stomped her way towards him. She slapped his chest and glared up at him, who looked surprised at the suddenness. "Don't call me Flat-chest, Egghead. I have a name. It's Hikari," From a close-up view, Hika realised that he's a lot taller than her that she had to cock her head back just to look at him.

"Egghead? What a creepy name." He smirked at her. "It's Jonathan," He rubbed the back of his head and walked away. It was actually a nice name. "Hey, dude! Where're we going?!" Hika yelled across the hall but shushed instantly, slapping her forehead for multiple times. Act like a noble, dammit! Scuttling behind Jonathan, she wondered where they were going to. Her eyes flicked to the huge clock standing against a wall. There was still an hour left before the ball starts.

Hika walked beside Jonathan, her hands clasped in front of her, still clueless about where they're going. Lost in her own thoughts, she didn't notice that she had stumbled on a stone and had tripped over, falling flat on her face. Groaning, Hika struggled to get up, worried that her dress might get torn since it was the only dress she had. "You're such a clumsy brainless girl," He smirked. Honestly, that smirk of his. She felt like ripping his mouth off his flawless face. Hika extended her hand up, hoping that Jonathan would help her up, but instead, he put her hands in his pockets and walked away nonchalantly.

A gasp escaped her lips. How can a person be this rude! She fixed herself once again after she got back on her feet and dusted off her dress. A moment later, they found themselves in front of a cafe. Hika raised an eyebrow and turned to glance at Jonathan. "What are we doing here?" A shrug was all she received as a response. She rolled her eyes and mumbled, "You aren't supposed to be wandering around in that tuxedo." It was obvious he ignored what she'd just said.

Hika followed behind him into the cafe. As they stepped into the building, glances turned towards them, especially the eyes of the girls were glued onto Jonathan, obviously checking him out. He smirked and winked at them arrogantly. Hika rolled her eyes. Folding her arms, she waited until he finished buying a cup of latte for himself. "What, you're not buying anything for me?" Jonathan raised an eyebrow at her. "You want something? Go get it yourself." She scowled at him. Anyway, it was almost time for them to go back to the ball. They walked together, side by side, silence filling the atmosphere.

"So, Jonathan. Why are you so rude even when you're so good-looking?" He stopped dead on his tracks and stared at her, blinking. "Uh. I'm sorry. Shouldn't have asked that," Hika started to turn on her heels but was stopped abruptly by a hand on her arm. She stared at Jonathan, hoping him to say something but he just rubbed the back of his head, avoiding eye contact. Damn, he looked really troubled.

"Umm, it's just that I've lost a person who mattered to me a lot. It was really hard to get over it and I've actually withdrawn myself from everyone due to it. That's why I don't usually show my true personality and try to act as a cold bastard," Jonathan finally spilled out the words slowly. Hika moved in front of him and stared straight at him, before putting her arms around his sturdy body. She felt him flinch a little but soon relaxed and laid his head on her shoulder. Rubbing his back in huge strokes, she tried to comfort him. People only just need a pat on the head or a hug when they're depressed and not words, they say. Hika believed that.

"Why are you doing this to me even when we're strangers, Flat-chest?" He pulled away from her, a smirk on his face, yet again. Hika stared at him, her mouth hanged open as she slapped his arm. "I told you I have a name!" The next thing she saw surprised her. He smiled. Jonathan, the rude guy, just actually smiled. "Did you just smile?" Hika blurted out. He immediately pulled a straight face and raised an eyebrow at her. "No. I did not." She rolled her eyes as they walked back together to the ball. To her surprise, they were both smiling the whole time on their way back.

Right before they stepped into the hall of the ballroom, Jonathan stood in front of Hika and extended out his hand, bending slightly. "Well, may I have this dance, Hika?" She looked away from him. "Err. I don't know how to dance," Hika squeaked, almost barely audible.
"What? Seriously? Nevemind. Just follow my steps." Jonathan waved a dismissive hand and pulled her into the ballroom. There was people everywhere dressed in beautiful gowns and suits. Cheerful laughter and giggles filled the room.

Jonathan dragged her into the middle of the ball and placed his hand on her back while is other hand held hers tightly. "Step onto my shoes and dance with me," He whispered into her ear that almost sent shivers down her spine. And so she did exactly what he had said. The music cued and they swayed along beautifully with the music though it's quite a relief that people didn't notice she was stepping on a noble's shoes to dance.

Time flew fast. They were so engrossed into dancing that they forgot to keep track of time. The ball was soon over and Hika prepared to leave. "I had an extremely good time, Jonathan. And thank you very much for the dance." Jonathan was still grasping on her hand. "I had a great time as well. I bet you enjoyed stepping on my shoes." That made them both burst into fits of giggles. Jonathan lifted up her hand and kissed it gently. "Thanks for spending time with me tonight." Hika smiled and nodded. And so, they both walked away in separate directions.

Today has been a beautiful day.
