    History/Story
History:Somewhere amidst the vast expanse of sea exists an island, completely closed off from the rest of the world. The island was dubbed, Nanashi Island, as the island's first inhabitants believed that if they named the island, word would spread of its existence, and their once peaceful world would be urbanized and transformed into an isle devoid of morals and judgement. Instead, they kept the island hidden by enforcing rather strict rules:

Denizens of the island may never leave.
The use of magic is prohibited, for fear of spreading the influence of the mainland to their humble isle.
Outsiders are never welcome. Those who have no method of return are allowed to live as probationary citizens, but will be under close surveillance, and may never leave.
Any and all mages are to be exiled from the island.

Unfortunately, the last law applied to young Regal's uncle, Alphonse Urei. When the island was threatened by young Dark Mages who had lost their way in the middle of a great fog, they quickly sought to spread the influence of their guild across the island. The elders who oversaw what went on did nothing. Their "master plan" was to attempt negotiations with the intruders and, perhaps, reach an agreement that would please everyone.

When that inevitably failed, the only known Mage on the island used his magic to get rid of the intruders. It worked, but the elders enforced their strict punishment as a result, knowing full well that those banished from the island have little to no chance of survival. Regal, who witnessed his uncle's banishment, was scarred by this. Too young to do anything about it, he could only watch as the villagers went about the traditional method of banishment.

They spit upon him, ripped from him a piece of whatever he had upon his body, blinded him, and sent him off to sea in a shoddy canoe.

As his uncle refused to leave parting words (since he knew that would only deepen the wound he believed he had inflicted on his family and friends), Regal was left with his teachings of blissful ignorance. Growing up with these ideals, it was only a matter of time until Regal, who believed he could survive the banishment through the magic he had known since childhood (but kept hidden for fear of banishment), committed the act that was so despised. For years he had trained for that very moment, honing his magic skills, giving himself little to no time for rest. He trained his body and his magic as much as he possibly could and, as a result, he was given the traditional banishment and sent away.

Although he had hoped he would wash up ashore Fiore, where he had overhead from one of the Dark Mages a little known guild called Sabertooth resided in Fiore. He thought if he made it there, he could learn new things, separate himself from the rest of the islanders, make something of himself and truly be the spitting image of his uncle. There was even a chance he could become a great mage and forge his own guild, and in turn start his own legacy to keep the spirit of his uncle alive.

Luckily, he did make it to Fiore, but the only things keeping him from getting to was a lack of money, and no idea where to start. On Nanashi, there was no currency. Everyone traded, so why would they need money? When he actually thought about it, he realized that he didn't know what "Jewels" were.

So now here he was, in a world larger than himself and the world he knew. Filled with despair, but at the same time shaking with optimism, Regal makes his way through the world with clothes he managed to steal off a stranger, and money from the very same kind stranger.

Through acts of thievery and a silver tongue, Regal had made it to a desolate place where he believed the guild known as Sabertooth resided. For days and nights he searched, to find nothing. Just as he lost hope, he came upon a place where buildings resided, yet with few people actually out and about. Amidst the constructs stood one massive fortress, standing tall and magnificent as their flag flew gracefully in the wind.

It is here that Regal hopes to become a member of Sabertooth, and from there, start his own legacy. He would not let his uncle's ideals die.
