Spam Counting As Official Posts

Hence the title of this topic, I find it unnecessary to have spam topics and/or posts counted in the official post count upon a member's profile. I find it to be a bit of a cheat to achieve the posting rewards, and some that cannot be compared to those who actually work hard on their posts. Spam posts can be as silly as posting a single word even irrelevant to the last post another member made in a topic, and still count as an official post. Anybody can do this multiple times to appear on that special "Top Posters" list, which I find unfair. As this site emphasizes effort and true determination, only posts that contain true commitment should be counted. This is simply my opinion, as you can see, though as one who actually works hard to post thoroughly, and to satisfy as many members as possible per week- or even month- it hurts to see that spam is overthrowing me, in a sense. This may seem like a selfish suggestion, but I just find that spam does not emphasize the commitment put into this site, and so it shouldn't be counted.

Do not confuse this as a suggestion to have spam prohibited. I understand that some of you just like to be random, sometimes, though I also find that many are using it to abuse post count. That's all.

Kaseki. I'd say you're half-right. What I don't understand is how changing the achievement system would affect anything. The achievement system has nothing to do with spamming, really. Nor do I think that Mods and Admins that're grading applications should have their post count revoked. I mean, it's not easy grading applications; even if it is for you, you'd still have to go through a few more. And that'd be only, let's say, Character Registration. There's also Magic, Weapons, Pets, more spells, the shops, etc. Their post, the way I see it, and their gaining of Jewels and whatnot, is simply the "Staff Bonus".

Otherwise, yes. People are abusing the system of spamming. This should be stopped.

I agree wholeheartedly. Only posts relevant to the RP should be counted as posts. So pretty much anything that isn't in Misc, Spam, and maybe even suggestions. And if possible, maybe somehow take make none of NPC's posts count. I do kind of like the idea of registration giving jewels, since that will give new players something to start off with. I mean who is going to start off their adventures or join a guild when they have literally no money in their pockets? Starting with a small amount of jewels just adds a bit to the immersion IMO.

That's how many jewels you get per a post... +1 jewel.

The only thing in which the spam section gives an advantage in is the "post requirements" in which some of the systems have and earning the achievement badge.

What you don't know is that posts count towards the site's activity and rankings in the directory, so the more posts we rack up the higher we're ranked on the directory. I mean really if you're too lazy to meet the post requirements that's your fault, and the achievement badges don't provide any perks, it's not like they're quality badges.

But hey if everybody is against it we can delete the spam section entirely, which would be the only way to fix things. But then if you think only "RP posts" should count towards the posts, we should also delete the discussions, intros, farewells, and misc section.

Also note that different sections of the forums provide different amount of jewels per a post! WHICH IS WHY IF YOU DON'T RP YOU'LL FIND YOURSELF WITH SIGNIFICANTLY LESS JEWELS THAN THOSE THAT DO. WHY? Simple. Sections like Fiore and Landforms/Seas provide significantly more jewels per a post and per a topic than those of discussions and other non-rp sections.
