    Spoiler:

Stepping out into the sun, Lyserg's glance swept over the quiet town. The village didn't seem to bare a lot of mysteries, nor did it seem particularly old. The amount of psychology he could read out of the village's general atmosphere astonished even Lyserg. It was well-kept. Plants were sitting all around and over the place. Warm-hearted, careless and almost unreal people filled up the place. The village was supposed to bare a nice collection of literature and scripted information. The library in this town was surely not as grand as the one Oak Town prided itself to have, but it would likely bare a good amount of information to the searching eye. A searching eye was what he needed now. Payment against finding an old book. A familiar and simple task as Lyserg thought. In the past there were several instances in which he had made it to his task to find a single specific book that would bare a specific piece of information he needed at that precise moment in time. Thus, he was at peace. In a library, it would be quiet. Or so he hoped.

Slandering up the alleys, Lyserg started to notice that the place did not only possess an unreal atmosphere, but also visually no proportionality to the size of the average human. The village seemed small, to say the least. But it ranged from housing over the people to the mailboxes in front of the little huts in which the people lived that were shrunken down to accustom to some size standard this village seemed to have. Lyserg then rolled up in front of a house. Strawhat-Alley 151. Not difficult to find as there were not even a dozen street names in this puny town. Reluctantly knocking, Lyserg's hand hit a straw padded door. The distinctive flutter of hay could be heard as his fingers brushed through the coverage. Pulling his right labial angle up in a wondrous, but negative attitude, he waited. Until just about a few seconds later, a small woman opened the door. Sacks under her eyes, brown shortened hair and bourgeois clothing. A native Fiorian, unmistakeable. Sighing, he exchanged trivial words with her until the woman gave him the task at hand and described the book she wanted.

"The Kingdom Of Iron". The name of the book startled Lyserg. His eyes had minimally widened as the words hit the back of his mind. Something tingled, immediately a sense of nostalgia erupted. To be expected. It was a name, reminiscent of the Kingdom he once reigned over. In his own language it was called "Der Wald Aus Eisen", or in modern speak, The Forest of Iron. This was changed some 700 years ago in all history textbooks to give off a natural image about the book. It was pure irony that he had to find a book about a Kingdom he once reigned over. Was it a novel? A fantasy book? Or perhaps informant? Lyserg wondered as his feet carried him relatively quickly through the streets of Peace Village. He nodded his head at the thought of the book. He definitely approved and felt reassured in himself. The impact he had in the history of this world echoed throughout the realm of self-aware beings. It was a nice feeling to complete such a trivial task that he was the only person accountable for.

Approaching the library, he stood in disbelief towards its size. It was truly the smallest library he had ever seen in his time. Sighing, Lyserg came up the stone steps and entered the library. It was larger on the inside than it seemed on the outside. To such a remarkable extent, that Lyserg stopped for a moment to question if this was an optical illusion, and what he had been perceiving of the town was perhaps an after effect of the stasis of five centuries. It didn't matter for now. Clearing his mind, Lyserg quietly swept over through the isles of books. Aiming straight for the historic information, he admired the tranquility for a moment. With an inner sigh, he started checking through the isles. It would likely take a while, as the book was reported to be extremely old and the library didn't exactly know about it when she called. But the woman was positive that it was in here, and Lyserg had often made the experience that books disappeared in gigantic culminations of literature every then and when. It was natural for a library to lose single copies.

Gliding through the book titles Lysergs skilled eyes seemingly only skimmed through the shelves, but picked up every single title just to forget it a moment later. Sighing, he couldn't find it after three about 10 meter long bookshelves and three minutes had passed. He could go on like this for the next few dozen minutes, but the fruition would be little. Starting to concentrate, he tried to think about where old books usually went once they were lost. Although he came to a conclusion, it seemed that the tradition of an oldest book shelf was lost in this era. How annoying. Stepping up to the librarian, he sternly exchanged a few words with her. She reminded him of the fact that some, old books would often land in the kid's shelf for some reason. Visibly surprised, Lyserg stepped over and started glancing through the isles and over the plaza that was made out for parents to read their kids to. It seemed interesting, peaceful. Lyserg admired a library's ability to get people to sit down quietly and actually expand their horizon.

Checking around, he caught a few old books that seemed misplaced in the children's section. There were around 4 single parents spending some quality time with their offspring sitting around at even smaller proportioned miniature tables and desks than Lyserg primarily viewed outside. He would spend the next ten minutes sweeping through the isles quickly. Spotting some rarities, pieces of literature that didn't belong into a kids' section, his hopes went up. Until the moment where he caught a grey bandaged book with a golden foil writing that read "The Kingdom Of I...". It was cut off on the first letter of the final word. Lyserg's inner eye brightened. The book was located on one of the lower shelves. Sighing inwardly in relief, his hand slowly stretched out to it, just to find that a small boy grabbed the book before him. He had noticed the kid before, but wouldn't have ever thought that it would come to the situation they were in now. He gave the child a stinging glance. But before he uttered words, the kid simply ran off with the book. Weirdly enough however, it didn't run to its parents, but dashed into the labyrinth of isles of the library.

It was not that Lyserg couldn't have caught the child if he wanted to. It was more that he didn't want to need to act rigorously. As he had found the book he was seeking however, Lyserg would accept this little challenge. He wanted to show the child something. The strength of people above him. Standing up from his crouched position, he started to silently step through the library in search for the boy. As he spotted him after 5 isles, Lyserg swiftly and vigorously approached him without a word, but only a stern look on his face. The child that saw him as well dashed off around the corner to the right. Lyserg simply followed and found the kid still trying to evade the encounter. He was now standing right in front of the space in between two isles. The kid as at the other end, trying to anticipate whether to go left or right. Lyserg feinted to go to the right, and the child logically acted and moved to the left. Lyserg stepped back and to the left as well, now waiting at the corner. Just as the kid popped out of the left-handed isle, Lyserg stood there with a stern look and brought his hand down onto the kid's shoulders before he could react.

Going back into a kneeling position. Lyserg didn't let the kid's attempts to get out of his grip succeed. With a straight and resounding whisper, he spat at the kid. "I need the book." As he said so however, the kid opened up the pages, and started tethering the book up. Without mercy or remorse for the quality of literature, the child simply started to rip out the relatively thin pages from the reams. As they started flying everywhere, Lyserg thought about how to deal with this troublesome child for a second. It was surely not worth it to kill him. That would be unnecessary and troubling. But the kid definitely needed to be taught a lesson. Although he didn't want to be the one, Lyserg couldn't help his passionate attitude and covered the kid's entire lower face with a grip of his hand, making it so the boy couldn't yell. Squeezing tight, Lyserg picked the boy high up into the air. Holding him there for a second, he watched as the child's face turned morbid and frightened. With a hard tone Lyserg spat a "Behave yourself in libraries." at the child before anyone could see him and silently let him land on the wooden floor.

The boy scuttled away and Lyserg traced the remains of the tethered book. Spread over the floor, an employee then approached him and asked if she could help. Denying anything, and simply saying that there was a child messing around with the literature, the employee was just about to pick the torn book up. Lyserg however, gripped her firmly and told her that this was a task he could very well accomplish. Kneeling down, he simply touched the book and within seconds, the pages had found their places again. The book was back to being complete. As he kept it in his hand, even the final letters of the title reappeared on the cover and the binding. He slid the book into his coat and simply told the employee that he would now take it for himself as a reward. Reluctantly and confusedly agreeing, the librarian stated that he shouldn't feel obligated to give it back, but it would be quite nice of him. Without responding, Lyserg simply stepped out back into the streets.

Walking through the streets of the small village again, Lyserg began to flip through the pages. It was indeed a fantasy novel based upon the existence of the age old, long forgotten kingdom. Nostalgia erupted once more, and Lyserg noticed himself becoming sad. Reminiscing about the old times, he started to remember his past companions, the past ages and adventures. All of the people he had slaughtered, all of the people he held dear. Living for an eternity was lonely. But dying a meaningless death was lonely as well. Lyserg knew that loneliness was something he had to bear, but calling it a tragedy was not a justification to become weak at the heart. The fifth iteration in which he was now, Lyserg found himself to regenerate at a much faster rate than before. Having skimmed through the book's pages, it was a seemingly fictional recount of events that happened 2400 years ago. Inaccurate, but well-written. Lyserg understood why someone would perhaps wish to re-read this work of literature. Appearing in front of the lady's house once more, he gave the book to her and then used his Rift to let his appearance vanish from reality and her conscience just for a split second.
