A Cat in Lamia

Ao was staring at the guild hall of Lamia Scale, her eyes filled with excitement and awe. She had heard of this magnificent guild but never had dreamed of seeing it herself, let alone joining it. Ao had wanted to join a guild since discovered her powers and now she was here. Opening the door to the halls of Lamia Scale she felt scared, her shyness would show here immensely. As she walked in, she saw a few people in the guild hall, no as many as she had thought there would be, but Lamia Scale had been rebuilt some time ago so it was logical it wouldn't have a hole load of members or maybe they were out on jobs. While walking into the guild her shyness kicked in and she ran behind a table.

She had pulled some attention with this little stunt, making her even more shy. The only thing she could do for the moment was peek out behind the table and not making any contact with anyone.

Adessa was returning to the guildhall after a long day in the lab, really did people have to give her problems of how to fix broken cart wagons? She was machinist/doctors shop for crying out loud! She sighed, no use arguing about Fiore's technological inferiority. She did however notice a kid entering in front of her and thus though it was new blood. That last sentence was in literal terms as well, she wanted a blood sample. So when she saw the girl hiding behind the table, Adessa walked behind her and picked her up by the back of her shirt. Adessa commented, "People who hide like that are spies or ultra shy guild members. The former I kill, the latter I stick needles in them." Adessa walked her over the bar and planted the girls butt on the stool, before turning one of her fingers into a syringe and lightly touched the artery on the side of her neck. Adessa added, "So which one are you?"

Talen was sitting in the guild hall relaxing, he had recently been playing cards with Melissa and had lost quite a few jewels, and now he needed a break. In hindsight, Talen thought, it is never a good idea to play cards with a gambler spirit.

As Talen sat, he noticed a girl he had never seen before enter the guild hall before hiding behind a table. "That is wired," Talen said to himself, he figured that she was another recruit for the guild, but he found it strange that she would hide behind a table if that was the case. Talen then saw Adessa walk into the guild, before walking up to the new girl and picking her up and taking her to the bar then sticking her finger into her neck. "Oh not again." Adessa was one of the more interesting members of the guild, and she had taken samples of his blood on more then one occasion.

Talen walked up to the two and said, "Adessa, please wait until new members join the guild before you take there blood, we don't want to scare her off like the last one." Talen then turned his attention to the new girl and offered her his hand, "Hi my name is Talen, welcome to Lamia Scale."

Zhu sighed as he walked into the guild hall. He was tired, and he could feel the first parts of sorness, and bruises forming in his body after he finished his last job. He walked into the bar on the main floor and blinked in surprise as he saw Adessa, and Talen with a new girl. He rolled his eyes lightly he had heard about Adessa, but hadn't actually met her yet.

He also knew Talen well from when he joined the guild. That fight was still in his mind, but that fight also put Talen as his equal so he was happy to see him like that. As he got closer he saw the needle and his hand went to his Steel Claw "Adessa put the needle down or you'll lose it." he said with a rather stern and powerful voice before he sat down on one of the bar stools the waitress bringing him a drink without him needing to specify. As he picked it up his hand was still on his sword "Don't worry new kid Me and Talen won't let her do anything too bad to you." He said in a far more friendly tone on the verge of sounding kind. Where he was sitting she could see he had no left eye, but he turned to look at her with a slight smile on his face "My name is Zhu Feng. The local Requip mage. Talen has already welcomed you, but Allow me to tell you if you're looking to get stronger I'm happy to help."

Ao was just sitting on the stool, surrounded by Lamia Scales members. She was incredibly shy, not being able to speak. Just looked at all the members, silently mumbling: My name is Ao Lin, it is nice to meet you. She hoped they could hear her but probably they hadn't heard her. She was thinking they though of her just as a tiny kid and this Adessa girl scared her. Ao started to tear up, she couldn't fight it anymore, she didn't know if she was happy or scared. Ao pulled her hat down, almost covering her eyes, when tears started to fall down her face. Only silent squeaks were heard from her.

Adessa watched the other 2 members jump to catgirls rescue. She was considering her position for a bit and then looked at her for a little bit. She looked like she was about ready to cry, but was it a ploy to spy on the guild or genuine? Since Adessa had to be right next to Ao, she heard the squeak of a voice she had. She sighed quietly and pulled an ice cream bar in Ao's mouth to stop her from crying. Hopefully the shock of having the sweet taste of ice cream in her mouth would stop it. Adessa bluntly said, "Hello Ao, my name is Adessa. Lamia Scales doctor and scientist." She gave a complete 180 degree turn from psychotic person to sweetest thing out there.

However that was just until Ao got her guild seal. Afterwards she was fair game.

Talen was a little surprised when Zhu came to talk to the new recruit, defending her from Adessa like he had. Talen had never really seen him as a compassionate person, but he guessed that even the requip mage could have a kind side.

Suddenly the new girl started to cry, Talen was not sure what to do, he had no idea what had cause her to start crying. However Adessa know exactly what to do. She welcomed the new girl to the guild then shoved an ice cream bar into her mouth. Talen was surprised that Adessa would do that, he almost always saw the scientist with junk food in her mouth and was surprised that she would share it.

Talen had heard Adessa call the new mage Ao, so he assumed that was her name, "Ao I'm sorry if we scared you, I just like to see new people in the guild." Trying to make the situation less awkward, Talen asked Ao, "What kind of magic do you use?"

Zhu watched as the girl started to cry. His proximity he managed to catch Ao's name and this he committed to memory. He made sure that he memorized the names of everyone in Lamia scale. The reasoning behind this was that they were all comrades of his, and should the need ever arise he would be called to protect them, or help them. So this was something he needed to do.

As he sat there drinking his drink he heard Talen ask Ao what kind of magic she used, and this caught Zhu's attention it was always interesting to know what kind of tricks the other magi he could end up working with could do.

When Adessa stuck an ice cream in Aos mouth, she became a little happier. Probably due to the fact that it was cold and distracted her shyness. No, you didn't scare me, i just, i wasn't expecting such a warm welcome. She pulled her hat back up, so her eyes were showing. She listened to what Adessa and Talen said. The question about her magic came as a small surprise to her, Well, it is called Sound Wave magic, but to be honest i'm not sure how to explain it, She had an embarrassed look on her face, I don't even understand it completely. She smiled and looked at all of them, she felt really embarrassed for almost crying earlier. But what about all of your magics?

Adessa simply answered, "I don't use magic. I use the power of science." It was not that she didn't trust her, but it was going to be too confusing to a little mind like that. She tried explaining it to everyone before,but all she got was confused looks. She sighed as she consumed one of her ice cream bars as well. It was also not that she did not want to share, but more like people did not express wanting her food. She wasn't going to shank people for it, a blood sample will suffice.

Adessa said out loud, "Your sonic attack may not even be an attack. Oh and as an announcement to you all. I am providing free medical care to all in Lamia Scale that require it. That or make tech, I might as well do something that entertains me here. Just sign in a requisition form in front of my room or knock."

Ren walked into the guildhall, rather disappointed. Another day, another hat outbid from you because your poor. He lifted an eyebrow when he saw a face he had never seen before. Ren grinned, his mood now lifted, and began to run over to the new person, then tripping over his own feet and falling flat on his face. This is what happens when you get too excited he mentally scolded himself as he scrambled to get up. "Hi!" he said, hoping that no one would question or laugh at his falling.

Talen was quite interested to her that Ao used sound magic, he had heard of it before but had never seen it used. Adessa once again explained how she did not use magic but advanced science. Talen did not really understand how technology could allow her to do the things that she did, but the results were undisputable. Adessa also announced that she was providing free health care for all of the guild members, this made Talen shiver just a little, there was no way to be sure that the scientist would not use this as an opportunity to  experiment on the other guild members.

"Well," Talen said as he grabbed one of his keys and showed it the Ao, "I'm  Celestial Spirit Summoner." Talen noticed Ren out of the corner of his eye, and saw him fall over. Talen just shook his head a little, he was not surprised in the slightest that Ren had fallen.

Zhu looked over to Ao with a slight nod. He simply held up his sword and with a simple thought it shone with a white light and another sword this one being Iron Fang took its place. He tied this onto his belt and looked to the new mage with a slight smile "I'm a Requip Mage. My magic being called 'The Warrior' I do hope you have lots of amazing adventures here. I know I've already started to test my limits while in this guild."

He picked up his drink and chugged the rest of it in one gulp before slowly he rose to his feet "Alright then. If you will all please excuse me. Also if any of you need me don't hesitate to come and find me. I'm always looking for a challenge." with that he turned and walked away humming softly to himself.
