    Akryn's history Empty Akryn's history

Post by Akryn 20th March 2014, 4:38 pm

Akryn Motomiji was born as the youngest child for the Motomiji family, child number thirteen for the productive mother and father, Marcus and Lilliana, with seven brothers and five sisters. The family lived in a small town in the mountains, and were all members of the same guild, a small, not well known place, known as Scorpion tail. Despite its small size and lack of recognition, the guild did surprisingly well and had about thirty members, the Motomiji family making up a large part of that, and the guild prospered under the rule of Master Toblerone Nikita.

The guild was a family for a time, where all looked out for, and loved, one another, a true family as a guild should be, and this was the kind of environment Akryn spent the first two years of his childhood in, before the death of Toblerone, and a rise of a new master, Alberto Mirasol.

A wizard from outside the mountains, Mirasol had come to scorpion tail with a mysterious past, one many of the guild still questioned, and most wondered what had made Toblerone place this man in charge of the guild. Under his rule, the guild changed, drasticly, becoming almost militaristic in its rules and functions. Many new members were invited in by Mirasol, and missions on the request board began to take on an odd, sometimes borderline illegal, appearance. As time wore on, this appearance became reality, as Mirasol and his new guild members began taking on more and more jobs of a darker nature, often times ending up with innocent people getting hurt, or public and private property being damaged and vandalized.

The darkness of the guild also began to show itself in the small town, as more and more outsiders came in, bringing with them weapons, violence, and crime, on a level the residents of the town had not seen in quite some time, and whenever the local police force would attempt to intervene, members of Scorpion Tail would always be there to step in and shoo the guards off, or beat them down.

As the darkness of the guild, and the direction it was headed, became more and more apparent, the older members of the guild who had been in during Toblerones rule as master, began to question their continued presence in the guild, or Mirasols. Most vocal about the direction of the guild was Marcus Motomiji, who began taking a stand against Mirasol and his new members, calling out the older members, himself included, for being either to afraid or lazy to see what was going on and stop it. As Marcus became more vocal however, Mirasol became more aggressive towards him, and many of the guildmembers saw a showdown coming.

This showdown came one day in the form of Marcus entering the hall, dragging two of Mirasol's invited men behind him, beaten, battered, and bruised. Marcus threw the two men at Mirasol's feet as members of the guild began to gather around, curious and concerned at the same time. Marcus told all that he had found these two shaking down a business owner for money, for protection. There and then, Marcus confronted Mirasol with the question about the direction of the guild, wether it was going to clean up and become fully legal again, or continue down the path to a dark guild.

Mirasol's response was a sword in Marcus's chest, before the stunned eyes of everyone present. Even the members Mirasol had invited were stunned by this. "This guild was nothing before my arrival. Under the guidance of idealistic fools such as yourself, it will continue to be nothing. I will make it something, and the rules be damned, and you be damned as well. This is my guild now." Mirasol said as he pulled his sword from Marcus's chest, the Motomiji family standing not far off, to stunned to move. "This is my guild now. You will follow me. Or you will die. Any more objections?" Mirasol asked, turning to eye the Motomiji family, even as the three oldest siblings tensed, preparing to charge, and Mirasol raised his sword.

The response however came from another source, Madara Kuribono, a member of the guild when Toblerone ran it, and one who had remained silent throughout the time of Mirasol's rule, staying out of the debates and areguments, and one who had been the last to be suspected of such an action. The response to Mirasol's challenge came from the most quiet man in the guild, in the form of a fireball that engulfed Mirasol, and about half of the men he had invited.

That one attack set the rest of the guild in motion, and though the fireball did not harm Mirasol much, it made things very clear of how this would end. As the fireball cleared, the Motomiji clan, and the members of the guild who had been there during the time of Toblerone, and Mirasol, and those he had brought in, collided in a brutal, yet unnoticed, clash of violence. As the battle ensued, it eventually spilled over into the small town built around the guild, drawing more and more into the violence. Thug clashed with guardsman, wizard fought wizard in a battle neither side was ready to give up on. The older members, guardsmen, and townsfolk felt their town had been taken away, their homes and lives threatened, and their futures put in jeoperady and were ready to die for them, and the newer wizards and thugs had worked hard to gain control of the town and were not ready to give it up.

As the battle ensued and grew even more brutal, many combatants fell, never to rise again, and in the end the small town had been wiped from the map. The battle, and the ferocity and brutality both sides had been willing to show in their bid for victory, had brought them to hold nothing back. Some fought for honor of their guild. Some for a better future for their families. And some for power and control, no matter how small. In the end, most had met the same fate, including both of Akryns parents, and eight of his beloved siblings. The rest had been scattered by srtrange magic, to different lands and places, except for Akryn, at the young and vunerable age of two and a half years old, unable to find food, shelter, or any sort of care.

Alone, afraid, and confused, Akryn stayed in the village for nearly a week, unsure of where to go and what to do. All he knew was mother was here and she wasn't waking up. Nor were his sisters, or brothers, or anyone he had known and loved. And so Akryn stayed, and waited, as hunger and thirst set in and darkness began to close in around him.

Luckily, the young, white haired boy was found. By a most unlikely savior. A dragon, mighty and majestic, found young Akryn, crying and hiding amonst the rubble of a shredded building to escape the rain. Thorsfell at first was uncertain of what to do with the small human. He was a young dragon, only a few hundred years old, and had limited knowledge of humans. Mostly of their greed, hatred, and arrogance, all aspects that put him off from the little blights. But as he stood there, rain sliding across his white and blue scales, looking down at this pathetic thing crying at his feet, pity found its way into his heart, and Thorsfell decided that day that he would take this youngling into his care and charge, and teach him the ways of a dragon slayer, like he had heard of elder dragons doing.

And so Akryn was taken from the ruins of the only home he had ever known, in the protective and loving care of a storm dragon. The next thirteen years proved to be long and strenuous ones for both of these young individuals, as Thorsfell struggled to guide Akryn in the ways of magic, and growing up as a human, which the dragon knew little about, and Akryn struggled with his own impatience and the intricacies of magic. In time, both grew to truly love one another, and as the two settled in and learned more about eachother, they became very close. Unfortunatly it was not meant to be eternal, as one starry night, Thorsfell was called back home, and was forced to leave Akryn without so much as a goodbye.

For seven years, Akryn stayed in the mountain and waited for Thorsfell, hoping beyond hope that his friend would return. During that time, Akryn did his best to put to paper the many spells Thorsfell had told him of, vowing to improve his magic and truly impress his mentor when he returned. For seven years he worked at this, improving his magic, his mind, and his body, all hoping beyond hope that Thorsfell would return. But he never did.

As Akryn waited, and Hope began to leave him, Thorsfell came to him in his dreams, through the help of another dragon, and told Akryn that he had been called home and would likely not return. But to give Akryn hope, he also told him of his five brothers who had also survived the destruction of his guild and village, scattered around the globe.

As Akryn woke he found two gifts beside his bed, placed there by Akryn knew not, but with a note saying they would be most useful in his quest. As Akryn donned them, a plan for finding his brothers came to his mind, and that day he keft the small cottage Thorsfell had helped hime make, and headed down the mountain, intent on finding a proper guild, and to make his name known well enough to draw his brothers in to him.
