The Misfortunes of Aldous Focusine

Purgatory is Aldous' hidden inner persona and is the mysterious being ripped out of the Horizon between Life and Death after Aldous had been killed and revived so many times during his childhood with Hades. At the moment he is residing in Aldous' mind, being the source of most of Aldous' Spirit Warrior, giving it its grey demonic appearance as well as its incredible strength and speed. Whenever he wants, he could come out of Aldous' mind and switch places with him, resulting in Aldous' body becoming manipulated to the point that its physical prowess reaches levels slightly higher to the base strength of an equal-rank Dragon Slayer, while the fact that Purgatory is not even truly a part of Aldous makes him immune to the pain from blows, with the only thing bothering him being disabling injuries such as broken bones. He is also the reputed Purgatory that the Seven Kin of Purgatory were supposed to serve and was Hades' second greatest goal, second only to Zeref the Dark Mage himself.


Changing Reins: Due to the possession of a second persona within him and a gradual trend towards Purgatory gaining ground within Aldous' mental landscape, Aldous and Purgatory now have to constantly fight for control over Aldous' body. While Aldous remains the dominant force for most of the time, every once in a while, when things start to get exciting, Purgatory is interested enough to give a genuine push for the reins, successfully evicting Aldous from the throne of the mind. When Purgatory is in control, he can use Amaterasu Formula but generally does not, instead using his physical capabilities to take on the ants before him with sheer force alone. His strength and agility are far beyond Aldous' normal levels, nearly equivalent to a normal Dragonslayer, as a result of him using a mental version of Maguility Sense to transmit the body's perception of pain to Aldous trapped in his mind. As a result, Purgatory feels essentially no pain and he can push the human body beyond its natural restraints and into its maximum without getting any of the nasty side-effects inflicted on himself.

Lineage - Spirit Warrior: Before he was stolen away from his sanctuary through Hades' life-death ritual, Purgatory actually had a body himself and this body, despite being soulless, still remains attached to its owner and hence follows Aldous around, albeit imperceivable to anyone, even himself. But when Purgatory gains the reins, he also regains a connection to his original body and hence with effort, manifest it around him as an ethereal entity. Its current form at D-rank is that of a massive 3-storey-high upper torso of a humanoid entity, made up of little more than a chitinous bone-like skeleton, wrapped incompletely in sinewy muscle. Its face is a human-draconian skull, with frayed flesh irregularly clinging to it, giving it a horrific visage such that it seems to be eating the meat off its own face. The Spirit Warrior usually manifests two arms, each with a 10 metre reach, but it can extend out up to eight limbs to dole out a barrage of ground-shattering blows, even combining some together to create an even larger appendage for heavy-duty work. With a rib-cage forming a protective barrier around Aldous, the Spirit Warrior can take on and withstand heavy damage, up to 1 rank above its user's rank.
