Elias Bishop Knight of the Aurora Elias’ secret lady friend had proven herself to be an incredibly tough nut to crack. This Aliannah, so mysterious yet so important, had just outright ignored Ville’s surest bullets. She didn’t even scratch him under the chin, much less fluff about with his tail! It was deplorable, but Ville rarely allowed himself to be down for the count. Maybe the best way to figure out this new girl would be to simply do as she said. Maybe then, she’d finally fall victim to his fluffy tail. “Elias wanted me to find something to eat,” Ville replied, “But he just wanted me out of the way before he found you. He’d call it damage control, but I know better.” The arctic fox winked at Aliannah and hopped on to her head. “But with that said, Elias is almost here, so I’ll be back.” Ville darted off into the crowd --- Elias saw Ville’s tail slip between the legs of passers-by just as he caught up with Aliannah. Shock, frustration, and a lack of surprise altogether washed through his head and it took all of Elias’ discipline to keep from shouting a curse at the thrice damned fox. Sure, Ville was reliable in a fight but he couldn’t hear the simplest of damn requests. “Hey,” Elias said, tapping Aliannah on the shoulder. “I hope Ville wasn’t too annoying. I’d hoped to warn you about the little shit before now. I even closed his gate. He’s still here under his own magic.” Hopefully Ville wouldn’t do too much to ruin the day, refusing to return to the celestial plane was enough defiance in its own right. The girl was frozen in place for just a moment, hearing the celestial fox talk about 'damage control' and the wink that followed. Despite previous encounters the girl wasn't the best with picking up hint or the idea of flirting in the slightest. Even by the sly comments of the fox.
She didn't hear the last several words of the fox as he hurried off, back into the crowd. The blonde was still stunned when Elias found her. Her eyes flickered to him and she quickly shook her head to rid herself of any questioning thoughts that took residence there from the words of the fox. "Ah, no. Ville was friendly," she paused to run her fingers through the hair that the celestial being and messed with. "If anything, I feel like more celestial beings should be more open, like he is."
A smile graced the lips of the girl as pulled at her hair slightly, trying to undo one of the knots, if he was going to do that every time they met she was going to have to cut her hair, it would be easier to untangle. "Do you send him on errands often? He looked used to having the bag of jewels around his neck. If I had asked Oya to do that, she would have clawed at me and hidden under the nesting spots in our apartment."
She couldn't help but tease the other, after all it was the first time she had seen an animal being the one to fetch food.

Elias Bishop Knight of the Aurora Aliannah asked if Elias normally sent Ville on errands. “Not really,” he replied. “I was really hoping to do the introductions first but the little guy has his way of manipulating orders. You know, like a fox. I’m glad his ‘moves’ weren’t too much.” He paused. “He’s nice to have around. Really brings color into my apartment when he's around.” He shot a glance through the crowd in case Ville had decided to eavesdrop again. “I’ll have to tell you the story of how I found him some day. He'd give a skewed version though.” A faint moment had passed before someone shouted in frustration and Ville reappeared at Elias’ feet with a paper bag clumsily swung over his back. He carefully placed it on the ground. “Walking tacos and funnel cakes for my two favorite people,” Ville said. He made sure to give Aliannah a blatant wink, though his gaze kept drifting back towards the bag. “Thanks Ville,” Elias said dryly. “I’m sure you already got yourself a treat.” He sorted through the bag. Somehow ville had managed to fold up two funnel cakes and fold them below two walking tacos and a kebab - A steak one, no less. The powdered sugar had fallen everywhere inside the bag. “You know I did.” Elias said nothing and pulled out the kebab. Ville let out a couple of bright yips, jumped, and snatched the meat right from Elias’ hand. He tore it all right off the stick. In the meantime, Elias passed Aliannah one of the tacos to get started. He didn’t have much faith that they’d finish the second funnel cake. But hey, it was a festival and what was there to stop Elias from getting fat? “You know,” Elias said to Aliannah. The corner of his mouth curled up into a grin. “What if we introduced Oya and Ville? I’m sure that would go amazingly.” Ville said nothing, making sure that his attention appeared to be on his beef kebab, but his ears had clearly pricked up and his tail swished eagerly. She listened attentively, the relationship that the two had was interesting, she could tell that much of it was teasing and much of it was enjoyment of the others company. She liked to see her best friend having someone else around when she wasn't there, it was nice to know that he was taken care of, even if he wouldn't admit it to the caretaker.
A swift nod was given at the thought of hearing the story of how Elias had attained the celestial being, she was sure that while one would be more true to the facts, the other version would probably make her laugh. It was a nice contrast, the two of them really worked well with each other. A bright smile was on her face, without the worry of things happening and without the disturbance of other magic, that always seems to want to get in the way of a good evening, the female could really just begin to relax.
It wasn't until there was another shriek, that Aliannah tensed up again, but this time rather than magic that seemed to have ill intent, there was a sly celestial being appearing through the crowd. The girl released a breath that she didn't know she was holding and relaxed once again. The smile returned to her face and she looked down at Ville. He was interesting, she could see what Elias would mean, picking out the so said "moves" that he had tried earlier. The girl could only shake her head internally.
Citrine blue eyes watched the interaction between the two with amusement reflecting on her eyes. Lips pulled into a bright smile, things were so much better without danger waiting around the door. Aliannah took the taco that had been handed to her, she had never had one before. Taking a small bite the girl hummed happily, it was good. With food in her mouth she heard the comment about Oya from the lips of her partner and almost started coughing, oh God that would be an interaction.
She had her hand in front of her for a moment as she finished chewing and swallowing before speaking, "Uhhhh, well that would be an interaction." She looked from Ville to Elias before she sighed in resignation. "But it can be arranged."
The blonde moved to take another bite of the taco, it was good, the textures and the different flavours melded together nicely. But as she had done so, she could feel eyes on her. Pausing for a moment the girl looked around, trying to see what or who was looking at her. Barely turning 45˚ blue eyes met with chocolate eyes of a small child. Why were they looking at her?
Biting her bottom lip she stole a glance at Elias before her eyes flittered back to the child, they were just standing there, they didn't seem like they were there with anyone, they seemed like they were all alone. Guilt and need to reach for the child ran through the woman's body before she turned to the other blond. "Elias, I'll be right back okay?There's a- erm. Well, you'll see in a minute if it is what I think it is."
With the taco in her hand the girl weaved through the people, her blonde hair getting caught slightly every now and then before she reached the child. She squatted down in front of them, she didn't say a word but offered the taco to the other. Chocolate eyes widened in disbelief and hope, looking from the food to her. The blonde girl only nodded, extending the food even closer to the child who grabbed it with small hands and immediately took a bite.
A small giggle left the lips fo the mage and she opened her arms for the kid who walked into them without a second of hesitation. "Where's your Mama and Papa?" Her voice was soft, coaxing, trying to get the child to talk to her.
The kid simply shook their head, they either didn't have any or they had lost them. Aliannah bit her bottom lip before she picked the kid up, resting them on her hip as she traversed back through the crowd, back to Elias and Ville.

Elias Bishop Knight of the Aurora In retrospect, it seemed that Aliannah didn’t want an explanation of things so much as some mild amusement. She watched Elias and Ville’s shallow bickering in what the former interpreted as silence and barely contained laughter. The wholesome kind, at least. It occured to Elias that Aliannah had never seen him interact with much outside of their handful of disastrous festivals and weird happenstances. To actually be together on a more-or-less normal day was such a complete change of tone that Elias had almost found himself at a loss for words. His entire time in Fiore so far had been a rollercoaster of shenanigans and outright horror. Sometimes both if he counted the time he called the trading company’s CEO ‘kiddo’. Elias took a breath and the tension washed away from his shoulders. Ville finished his kebab and hopped up onto Elias’ shoulders. An odd shriek pierced the crowd and it seemed like Aliannah flinched before she started speaking again. Elias wiped off Ville’s mouth with a napkin. “I’d love to meet this Oya,” Ville said. He hopped right over Elias’ head to the mage’s other shoulder. “I knew an Oya once. Pretty cat, softest fur in town. But she had the mouth of an albatross.” Ville gasped. “Maybe it’s the same Oya. Gods she’d want to kill me.” Ville let out his high pitched laughed, jumped down, and started running circles around Aliannah’s feet. “Still, it would be awesome to meet her.” Elias had finished his taco by the time Ville finally slowed down. At least he’d finally kind of run out of energy, or at least run faster than his train of thought for the moment. Elias really had to teach the fox how to fliter his words. Then Aliannah stopped and made eye contact with someone in the crowd. She stopped and said she had to go and disappeared into the crowd. Ville shot a quizzical look at Elias. “Hey, I don’t know what this is about,” Elias said with a shrug. “Mind if I go check it out then,” Ville asked. He started inching away from Elias. “I can be sneaky too, you know.” “I think we should leave her alone for the moment.” Elais shot forward and snatched Ville into his arms, squeezing tightly as the fox tried to squirm free. “What do you mean I can’t be nosy,” Ville whined. He let out a chain of fake pained yips. Elias could feel the stares of the crowd burning into his back. He dropped to the ground and darted through the crowd. Ville returned a moment later and only said, “She’s got a kid.” Elias couldn’t muster a response. He figured he’d just have to wait until Aliannah got back for anything resembling an explanation. The child in her arms, which Aliannah quickly deduced to be a male, had finished the taco by the time the two of them had gotten back to Ville and Elias. The girl shot a look at the fox, knowing full well that it had followed her to see what was going on and had probably reported it to the other blond. But she couldn't be even the slightest bit annoyed at the celestial being as she would have done the same, if she was annoyed it would be pure hypocrisy.
Aliannah gave Elias a shy look, biting her lip in the process. She was slightly embarrassed to have picked up a child, but she couldn't just leave them there. She knew what it was like to grow up without parents, which is why she had started an orphanage in Tolgalen, so that kids had a place to go and people to look after them. Aliannah made regular trip to the place to check in with the kids and make sure that they were being treated kindly and were healthy.
Thus seeing a child left alone at a festival, the blonde really couldn't help but take the child into her arms. Thus, now there was a child. "Uh.... I found this little guy. Found is strong word, but he doesn't seem to have come with anyone. Do you mind if he stays with us until we go back to Tolgalne? I run an orphanage back in Tolgalen and this little guy seems to need a home." The girl looked down at the clothes that the boy was wearing. They were ragged and filled with holes. It was clear that he hadn't had a shower in days and the girl could only want to coddle the small child.
Indigo eyes looked at the other blond with a plead. She didn't know what she would do if the other said no, but she could only hope that he didn't.

Elias Bishop Knight of the Aurora Of course Ville had described the situation down to its lowest common denominator. Yes, there was a kid with Aliannah and, yes, she was carrying him but that was the end of it. The arctic fox had implied very heavily that said kid was Aliannah’s. Elias knew that to be impossible. Any kid of hers would’ve been something he knew about. Besides, she was strong. The strongest person he’d ever known. Uptight, sometimes, and definitely more reserved than any girl Elias had ever known but they’d been friends for nearly a year by that point. He trusted Aliannah with his life and then some. If there was anything she needed, anything at all. Elias would be there no questions asked. So when Elias finally got a good look at this kid, homeless with ratty, dirty, tangled hair and a shirt with more holes than the moon had craters, he knew there really wasn’t a choice. He met Aliannah’s lilac gaze. They were pleading, almost to the point of tears. Elias tried desperately to transmit the idea that she would never have to plead to help with something so purely human. “Of course he can,” Elias said with a faint smile, then he tousled the kid’s hair and hoped he didn’t overstep any bounds. “But first, we’re gonna show you a good day at the fair, eh? And Aliannah is gonna get you right cleaned up. Then we’ll get a new shirt, your pick, and then some more food if you’d like.” The stench had even forced Ville to bury his nose into Elias’ collar. Elias scratched him behind the ears. The fox had a good heart, he knew, but that heart was always worn on his metaphorical sleeve. The little guy really did feel for the kid. Probably knew more about his situation than Elias ever could. Especially with his key having been abandoned for gods know how long. But Ville had his pretensions. Just the fact he’d been keeping silent now spoke loads for how the guy felt. Hopefully. Hopefully they could earn this kid’s trust. WORD COUNT: 1435 |

The kid in her arm was quiet, not a word from their mouth. Aliannah didn't know whether this was a good thing or a bad thing. On one hand the kid wasn't protesting and on the other he wasn't agreeing either. But the girl could feel the relief running through her veins when Elias had reached over and tussled the hair on the kid. He was okay with their new guest.
Aliannah now wore a soft smile, one that she saved for people who needed it. Caring, motherly, wholesome. The blonde shifted the smaller in her arms so that he could look at Elias and give him a responce. If they were going to do things, they were going to do things that the kid wanted to do.
Chocolate eyes of the kid looked at Elias before the kid's hands gripped at Aliannah's shirt. Attachment was a good sign. It was a sign of trust. The kid was trusting of the female, probably only because she had found him and she had fed him... with food... that... Elias had bought.... but none-the-less the food came from her hand and thus was associated with her.
There was hesitation before the kid looked back up at Aliannah. The girl nodded and made a gesture with her chin for the kid to answer the other male mage.
The kid looked back at the male blonde and nodded reluctantly. That was an agreement. That was a beginning of something new for the kid. Aliannah shot a bright smile at Elias, proud and filled with hope. Indigo eyes looked down at the kid. "Let's do what big brother Elias said and get cleaned up, okay?" The kid nodded and buried his head into the blonde's shoulder.
The smell of the kid was strong, but it wasn't pleasant. It was something that the girl could ignore for now, but not for long. Elias had the right idea of giving the kid a bath. The female ran through her memories trying to see if she had spotted a public bath house within the town. It took her a moment, but there was. Only a couple minutes walk away. The girl nodded to herself before she looked at her partner. "If I remember correctly there was a public bathhouse only a couple minutes walk away. Either you can take him, or me. Or both? But I think it would probably be best that one of us gets him some new clothes for when he gets out so that he doesn't have to dress in the ones he is wearing now."
