Date With A Vampire Empty Date With A Vampire

Well, this for sure was one of the most unpleasant places that she’d been to in her long life. A deserted village that was covered in a horrible and foul fog. The place was creepy to say the least and as the brunette vixen made her way through the area, she couldn’t help but feel just a little uneasy. This had to be the place and as Menka’s slayer enhanced senses got to work, every movement and sound seemed to have an eerie tone to them. Just what curse or misfortune had fallen on the place? What horror had been unleashed in order to make the people who’d lived there vanished? Questions that she’d probably never discover the answers to but with any luck, at least she might be able to complete the job that she’d been tasked with.

A job that involved the disappearance of a child, a young blonde haired boy who’d apparently last been seen running towards the village. Why on Earthland he did so was a mystery to his parents, the ones who’d put up the job but such was their desperation that they’d put up a hefty reward for someone to find out the truth and with any luck, return him home. Menka had been in two minds about taking the job at first, her new found desire to help others clashing with her more selfish traits. There was no guarantee as to what the vixen would find and the smartest thing to do might have been to just pass the mission on to someone else. However, the thought of a kid being missing had eventually won her over although she’d be lying if she said that the reward hadn’t been a factor too. So, after all that inner debate, here she was, wandering into the complete unknown.

The boy's parents had absolutely no facts as to what lurked within the village and had simply regaled the kitsune with stories of undead creatures. That certainly fit the vibe of the village, even if Menka kind of hoped that wasn’t the case. She didn’t have much experience with monsters like that and her imagination began to quickly blossom with just what she might come up against. Werewolves? Zombies? Skeletons? Her mother? None of those options gave her much joy and as she reached the edge of the village, she caught sight of a long path that led off to a large building. The town hall perhaps?

Taking a moment to centre herself, Menka would then proceed to walk up the path, walking through the fog like a hot knife through butter, her ears twitching at the slightest sound. The atmosphere was heavy and ominous, which only added to the slight sense of trepidation that she felt. Just what had she signed up for here and who or what was waiting for her? There was only one to find out and despite a voice in the back of her mind telling her to just turn around and leave, she pressed on regardless. She knew that she was strong enough to get herself out of trouble and now that she’d got to grips with her newer magic and the benefits that it granted her, Menka fancied her chances against whatever would be put against her.

Minutes passed and the atmosphere became heavier and heavier but soon enough, the kitsune reached the building. It looked more like a broken down old barn than a hall but every cell in her body was telling her that what she was looking for was in here. So, she’d approach the door and place her ear up against it, focusing on the sounds within. At first, there was nothing but after a few moments, a pair of voices could be heard. One, high pitched and frightened, the other older and more confident. It seemed that she’d found the right place and as she listened more carefully, the kitsune could start to make the words out.

“Can I go home now? It was nice meeting you but you;re starting to scare me, Miss. I promise that I won’t come here again. You have my word.”

“Go? I don’t think so. I called you here for a reason, my young friend and it’s been so long since I last fed.”

“FED?! You’re going to eat me? Please don’t! What are you a witch or something?”

“I’m not a witch, silly boy but I really am hungry and you look so sweet. I promise that it won’t hurt too much and once I’m done, you’ll be just like me. You’ll stay as you are forever, young and immortal. Doesn’t that sound like fun?”

“You mean you’re a...a...vampire? You drink people’s blood and turn them evil?”

“Evil? Who told you that? Vampires aren’t evil, we just need blood to survive.

“EWW! That’s nasty! You’re not having mine!”

The sounds of footsteps could then be heard as the boy seemed to try and run from the vampire but they were soon stopped, followed by a large crashing sound and a screech.

That was more than Menka could take and without waiting a moment longer, she pushed the doors open firmly and entered, to find herself in what was indeed the town hall or what was left of it. Windows were broken, the curtains were ripped to shreds and there wasn’t a piece of furniture that wasn’t either beyond repair or rotting. Her attention though was locked on to what was going on in the centre of the room. The blonde haired boy that she’d been sent to find was being pinned to the ground by a tall raven haired woman wearing a red dress, her mouth wide open, about to bite the boy’s neck.

“Get off him you dirty old crone!” Menka yelled, her body crackling with lightning almost by instinct.

“Mind you own fucking business!” The vampire hissed, her gaze turning towards the kitsune, a scowl crossing her features, “Can’t you see I’m busy?!”

“Biting children? Yeah, that’s real classy,”
the vixen retorted, folding her arms across her chest, “If you want to bite someone, come over here and try me instead.”

Annoyed beyond belief, the raven haired woman clambered to her feet while the boy instantly took the chance to get up and run. “Thanks lady!” He squeaked, terrified by what had almost happened to him, “I’ll go home now!” With that, he was gone, leaving the two women alone.

“Thanks alot,” snapped the vampire, “It took a lot of work to summon him here, you know. All for nothing. Now I guess you’ll have to...” She paused and approached, stopping a few feet away while looking Menka over, “Hmm. Well, I suppose you’ll do as a replacement. Been a long time since I last saw one of your kind. I think I’ll take you up on your offer, after all.” Her scowl turned to a devious smile, revealing her fangs.

“It’s a shame that you were hunting kids...,” the vixen replied, her gaze briefly glanced over the vampire, returning the favour, “I think we might have had a lot of fun together otherwise. I do prefer not to fight, you know.”

“Well, you should have let me have a nibble on him, shouldn’t you?”
The vampire answered, before hurling a blast of blood towards the kitsune.

    Talk time was over.

Diving out the way of the attack, Menka would swiftly activate both her lightning transformation and claws from the start, causing her entire form to burst with electricity. There was no point holding back here, recognising the look in the vampire’s eyes. The kitsune would then charge in close and start to get into a hand to hand confrontation with the nocturnal creature. It was a powerful exchange and both women were pretty evenly matched, bolts of lightning and blood exploding in all directions as they struggled for an advantage. Yet, the hesitance that the Fairy Tail mage might have shown before was no longer there, having come to terms with the fact that sometimes combat was necessary. She didn’t fear it any more, thanks to her experiences with her new friends and had learned to revel in the moment. She channelled all of her passion and lustful feelings into her fighting which gave her such strength. Her eyes blazed with desire and curiously enough, the vampire’s did too.

It was hard to tell just how long they exchanged blows before but as time passed, there was a change in the way that they fought. It became less of a mad brawl and more of a dance between the two. They were both truly consumed by their emotions and as they came together yet again to exchange blows, suddenly their hands would wrap around each other and their lips met instead, resulting in one massive discharge of magical power. This was precisely how Menka had felt whenever she used Force. She became a being of raw emotion, fuelled by her animal like wants. The two pressed themselves up against each other and fell to the ground, their desire to kill each other replaced by something else.

“Damn you,” The vampire giggled wickedly when they finally broke apart, “This wasn’t how it was supposed to be!”

“Well, I guess you brought the animal out of me,” Menka quipped, kissing the raven haired woman on the neck, “I told you that this was how I prefer to solve my problems.”

“I’m starting to see why,” the fanged woman answered, “I must admit that I prefer your method to fighting. Perhaps we can make a compromise? I’ll leave the area and go hunt somewhere else and in exchange for letting me live, I’ll give you a little bonus.”

“More than what you’ve given me already? How generous,”
    Menka purred.

“That’s not what I mean! Honestly, your mind is filthy!” the raven haired woman retorted gently. “The bonus I had in mind was something else. I couldn’t help but notice that you fought with a magic that’s holy in nature and so I’m prepared to give you a little something to help with that. Let’s just say it’ll add another quiver to your bow.”

“Are you talking about a lacrima?” The vixen responded, ears twitching with curiosity as she watched her latest lover, “I’ve already got one of those in me already and don’t know if I can take another.”

“Trust me, you can. You’re strong enough to wield another one and after exchanging punches with you, I know you have the passion that’s needed to wield my magic. With my gift, you’ll be able to use a form of holy blood in order to fight. Think of it as a memento of our meeting.” The woman replied with a chuckle.

“Hmm, well, I suppose it would be rude of me to not accept such a delicious offer but you have to swear that you mean what you say. You have to leave the people here alone. No more luring kids away from the nearby villages.” The vixen said with a swish of her tails.

“I swear! I swear! Now that you’ve foiled my plan, they’re going to be on guard anyway. I promise you that I’ll stay away. You have the word of Adronica, Lady Of The Night.” Adronica answered, crossing herself in a rather sweet way.

“Adronica, huh? Lovely name, mine is Menka,” Menka complimented, “I accept your offer but before we get to that. How about a little more fun, hmm? If this is the only time that we’re going to meet then we should make it a night to remember.”

“I like the sound of that, my dear Menka.”

With that, the words would stop and the two would fall into each other's arms again. What had originally been a rescue mission had turned into something quite different but Menka couldn’t have been happier with how it’d turned out. Her job was complete, she’d made a new friend and had found a second lacrima. What more could she possibly have wanted?
