Mia didn’t expect her mother to go to Sakuramori with her today. In fact, she didn’t expect her mother to even suggest the thing in the first place. She asked if she wanted her to come with her for some mother and daughter time. She stated she even had a picnic ready for them to go. Of course, this made Mia agree, she could never turn down the offer of free food after all.

Walking down in Sakuramori, the girl witnessed the petals falling down slowly, and it made Mia hold her hand out to make sure one fell on her hand. Foruntately for one, more than one fell on her hand, and because of this, Mia took her hand towards her lips and blew. The cherry blossom petals then blew away along with the wind.

“I must admit, mother.” Mia started. “You have done very well. This place seems serene and calming. It will be perfect for our picnic.”

“Ah. It just means you have taste, Mia.” Her mother then said. “Good taste at that. This place is indeed wonderful and it is, of course, perfect for the picnic, otherwise, I wouldn’t have picked it in the first place.

Mia smiled softly as she listened to her mother's words. Her mother really did do things well. It was just a shame that she was such an icon for her family branch that the family had to pretty much follow what she wanted.

Unfortunately, something started to not feel right at all. It caused Mia to look behind her a few times, and she was sure she heard the trees rustle. Mia knew something was going to happen, yet she didn’t know what exactly.

    “Mother! Somethings here!” Mia declared.

As soon as Mia spoke them words, the two of them were surrounded by none other than their rival clan. It was clear who they were, there was nobody else that would do this kind of thing to them.

“Get lost! We mean no harm here and we were going with peaceful intentions!!” Mia declared as she started to panic. Just what was she to do, there was too many of them! And even worse than that, she was sure that there was backup on their end too. This was going to be a little difficult for her end, considering she is still learning how to be a mage in the first place.

Kenna's eyes squinted into menacing slits as her voice lowered to a hissing threat, her left hand tightening its grip around the soft flesh of her demon kin; her sharp, elongated nails dug teasingly into its skin, letting the smallest of droplets escape the man's throat leaving a crimson trail in their wake. Her eyes shot fire. ”You stop this charade right now, Vulgrim, or I swear this’ll end far worse than just badly… at least for you it will.” The horned demon currently sealed within her grasp smiled grimly as he stared her straight in the eyes, his deviance facing her rage head-on. She wasn't having any of it. Kenna’s grasp on Vulgrim's brittle throat grew ever so slim, as her nails punctured through the first layers of leathery skin without much effort or even remorse. ”Don't play smart with me, Vulgrim. Speak.” Vulgrim couldn't help but chuckle; a rasping, hoarse sound that escaped his being. Nothing anyone would've remotely thought to be a form of laughter, yet it was just that. A laugh. Taunting. Vexing. He felt no respect for the one before him, only a mere child in his eyes, claiming to be the next in line to reign over all demons of the South. “I find it rather cute that you think this will work on me, your ‘highness’” He said mockingly. “I’m a demon, and unlike you, not a puny halfbreed. A fullblooded one tainted by combat and slaughter. Your pretty little nails won't do me anything aside from scratch that itch underneath my chin, perhaps…. why don't you go back to the place you belong, won't you, little doll? I bet there's a lot of fancy dresses and dolls awaiting your return!” He mocked her further by appearing overly enthusiastic when mentioning the dolls and clothing, which to her dismay only pushed the wrong buttons further.

A dull bang resonated through the cave as Kenna lunged forward, leaving Vulgrim’s face to contort in pain from the sudden headbutt. A trickle of blood ran down Kenna's forehead, right in the middle past her nose. Vulgrim's voice sounded hazy as he tried to get rid of the blurry sight now covering his eyes. His nose throbbed like hell, yet his bound hands could do nothing but remain behind his back, the chains digging deeply into his skin. “Heh, looks like our princess lost her bearing.” Vulgrim scoffed, only to be met again by Kenna’s crimson eyes hovering merely inches away from his face, her horns now nearly grazing his forehead. “I was never raised a princess to begin with, but a warrior, just like you. And as far as I’m concerned, this could be the politest greeting I have to offer for your type.” The amused grin on his face faded slightly, making way for an even more foul look to plaster his visage. And with it, Kenna knew she'd hit the jackpot, but wisely hid that she had this knowledge behind an angered face.

”But I guess that if you don't plan on opening your mouth for anything considered useful, I might as well get rid of you altogether and go see the next one on my checklist.” The white-haired demoness said, roughly pushing him aside, with such force that the male demon couldn't do much more than to lay on his side, feeling the itching stinging of her nails’ puncture wounds in his throat. As he glanced up, he only met a cold pair of eyes looking down on him both literally and figuratively, a sense of pitiful disapproval reflected within them. ”Take him away.” she said coldly, turning around slowly and moving back towards the handful of demons awaiting her return at the inside of the cavern. Avide, her right-hand man and guardian, passed her by with his nine feet length and towered over the fallen Vulgrim, casually picking him up by his binds with a single arm. Avide did not say a word and kept on moving into the opposite direction, away from his master and charge. The demon caught by his iron grip panicked slightly. “H-hey! Where are you taking me???” he shouted nervously. Kenna answered briefly. ”You know what you're guarding, so you tell me.” The sudden fear in his eyes was something Kenna could sense with even her back turned towards him. He didn't need more hints. Nor would he get a spark of mercy if he did not beg her for it. That which caused his fear was a means of torture even demonkind found utmost cruel, and wouldn't even use on one of their own, no matter the crime committed. Only on other races would they utilise this technique, yet she did not even hesitate in sentencing him to die like that. Vulgrim struggled heavily against his captor's advance and plead for dear life. All to no avail. Avide didn't budge at all. “W-wait! You can't do this to me, demons are forbidden to-”

Kenna stopped moving and glanced over her shoulder, showing an amused, taunting smile. ”Oh, but you said it yourself; I am no demon like you. So those rules don't apply to me. Now have fun, and rue the day you decided crossing me and my father was a good idea.” Avide caught the clue his master had thrown him with that sentence and started moving once more, till they disappeared out of sight behind a turn. Kenna growled softly and turned around. She hated having to act so cruel, but she had no choice. An example had to be set for those to come; to show she was not one to mess around with, but to obey. That she had the power to back it up. The soldiers behind her shuffled uneasily as they awaited their princess’ next order, but instead Kenna gestured them to be at ease for the time being. ”He had it coming… but worry not. If you do as I say there's no need to fear for this kind of punishment… but cross me and the same fate awaits you. Stand by me and you will be rewarded in kind; I won't let my people suffer under my reign, respect is given to those who give respect in return. Remember that well, men.” She said in a more gentle, almost wise voice.

They still seemed nervous, and honestly, she couldn't quite blame them for being so. What Vulgrim was guarding was one of the most brutal and cruel means of torture; a pool of acid that, after the torturer’s wishes, could both eat away at the physical and magical proportions of a person. This also included one's soul; something the demons of the South, despite popular belief that they didn't, cherished greatly. For her to go against those ancient rules and to use this pool against demonkin was ruthless and nerve-wrecking for the ones following her. But it was a necessary sacrifice, nonetheless. She could regain her dignity later. After a few more moments of silence, a scream resonated that cut her to the bone. Her signal to go. Signaling her soldiers to remain at the entrance, Kenna quickly made her way towards the source of the scream, and arrived to the scene of Avide holding Vulgrim above the pit, where a few drops now menacingly jumped towards his face, yet missed him by an inch every time again. He panted heavily and tried to move away from the edge of the pool, but was kept firmly in place. ”Next time he won't be ask kind, Vulgrim… did this little foreplay perhaps loosen your tongue enough to speak?” Vulgrim’s eyes shifted left and right, then back to the acidic pool bubbling underneath his face and replied hastily. “Yes! I'll talk, please, just get me away from it!”

Once they were at a safe distance Kenna stared at the panting demon she was to question, her arms crossed and resting on her chest. ”Now tell me; where are my parents’ remains located?” The demon took another few moments to catch his breath before talking. “The remains are still at the same place as they once were, princess… the Martyr's Throne. They ordered us not to move the bodies under any circumstance, so the remants of his legacy could be tainted by it. So nobody would forget. But only your father’s remains lay there… we never found the Queen's body.” Kenna frowned. ”What do you mean, never found?” Vulgrim stared her dead in the eye. “She escaped, as was Cahradras’ plan. And as far as I know, should be alive still, if nothing happened in all those years. Though we don't know where-to.” At this time, Avide interrupted the conversation. ”Wait, if the King's Consort is still alive…. then I know where she might be. Kenna-” ”We leave. Now. she said, looking at Avide. Her guardian nodded briefly and made an attempt at grabbing Vulgrim again, but was stopped by Kenna. ”No. We have what we came for, what he does now is out of his own volition.” The white-haired demoness turned towards Vulgrim and nodded softly. ”You're free to go. Whether you join my cause, remain neutral or plot against me  is all up to you, but know… those facing me on the opposite side of battle will be cut down. Goodbye, Vulgrim.”. A small flame burnt away the chains keeping his hands bound, and before Vulgrim could take a moment to breathe, both Kenna and Avide had vanished. To find the mother she thought dead her entire life.

Liu's Invasion (Free Form Job - Talis and Aura) Empty Re: Liu's Invasion (Free Form Job - Talis and Aura)

Post by Guest 27th November 2018, 4:01 am

With everyone surrounding the two women, there wasn’t much they could do. Apart from fight their way out.

“Daughter dearest. Why don’t you show our guests just who you are now, show them how strong you have become for the Liu family.” Her mother spoke with them gentle words as always. Them words always resonated within her. Her mother always spoke about how strong she has become and how it was all for the Liu family.

Mia grinned as she looked to everyone and then held her hand out. Flames started to pour out of her hand, revealing a bo staff made of pure flames. While this worried the invaders, this didn’t worry Mia at all. In fact, she was ready and willing to show all the hard work that she done for the one who taught her this type of magic in the first place.

    “I am ready.” Mia announced.

Everyone took a step backwards away from her before she got straight to work. She charged at a few of them and knocked them down easily with her bo staff. There was still a lot of work to be done though, as the ones that she knocked down merely just got back up again. Nonetheless the Liu family member didn’t let this phase her. Instead she continued to attack the others with incredible speed. She was always proficient with the bo staff after all.

Continuing her little fight, Mia looked behind her to spot her mother began to fight too. She used fans as her weapons and she was really good at it, to Mia’s surprise. She never caught her mother do any fighting training of the sort, but dang she knew how to fight.

Due to being mesmerised by her mother, Mia got distracted slightly. She dodged something by the skin of her teeth luckily, but only because she heard the sound of the weapon heading straight for her, which was a kunai.

“These guys don’t know when to quit.” Mia mentioned as she quickly shuffled over to her mother. “There’s still a ton of them, luckily they seem to be easier to dispatch than I thought.”

“That’s because the real ones are hiding in the trees.” Mia’s mother then said. “Remember, we have honour to uphold while doing this.” She glanced around herself and Mia before jumping back into the fight.

With this, Mia also jumped back into the fight and started to dance her way around the enemies, knocking them down as much as she possibly could while continuing to dance and fight at the same time. Dancing was known to be her speciality, so of course she would be dancing and fighting at the same time.

Secretly, Mia hated this. She was never the one to really fight her way everywhere. However, this was a fight or flight trigger, and she loved testing just how strong she has become ever since being taught how to be a mage in her own right.

They were still nowhere being done. There was still a lot of them around, and this shocked the two of them initially.

“I didn’t think they had this many people!” Mia exclaimed.

“That’s because this is their main branch! Our main branch is back at the house.”

“Goddamnit…” Mia spat on the ground as she breathed in and out heavily. “There is just way too many of them.”

Liu's Invasion (Free Form Job - Talis and Aura) Empty Re: Liu's Invasion (Free Form Job - Talis and Aura)

Post by Aura 27th November 2018, 4:28 pm

The wind caressed her face ever so gently despite the speed at which they traversed the skies. Avide, having taken the liberty of shifting into his dragon form, had taken to the skies as soon as they'd left the cave in which they'd interrogated Vulgrim. Kenna had ordered her troops to return to their main base, and to only deal with Vulgrim if he appeared hostile towards them, but to otherwise let them be. Afterwards, the demoness had climbed unto her guardian's back and left without further words, leaving her soldiers flabbergasted as to what had just went down inside. But they knew better than to pry in business not theirs. Especially not that of their princess. Now she was out of everyone’s line of sight she had the time to show the through impact of the words that had been uttered. A mother… she had a mother. The woman who actually gave birth to her had survived the massacre. But how? Why? And if she had, why hadn't she taken Kenna along, but instead had been left at a stranger's doorstep as an infant? There were so many questions she wanted to ask, answers she needed to know that would be the missing pieces to the puzzle of her life. Snippets and anecdotes essential to piecing out her history completely. And for some of those, her biological mother knew the answer. Answers Avide himself couldn't give, even though he had been her late father's right hand man.

But for now, there were some questions he could in fact answer. ”Avide… how do you even know where my mother is? I mean… you didn't even know she was alive until now?” Kenna asked, leaning forward into his large, scaled neck. She could hear and feel him clear his throat as he stretched his wings further and slightly bent towards the right. ”That's… well, I guess it doesn’t matter anymore now. You see Kenna, your mother's heritage was kept a secret from many, in fear of retaliation towards her human family when your father chose her as his queen. You can imagine many demoms weren't quite pleased, if so to say, that a mortal had been chosen as his consort. So he made a big deal out of keeping her roots and name a secret. Only a select few knew where she hailed from, and I was one of those. I recall the old location of her clan's main branch, and her talking about a specific forest she liked a lot, one you might be familiar with, as a matter of fact.” He said softly, letting his giant body to be carried by a strong breeze. ”Which forest?” ”Take a guess.” ”Don't tell me it's… Sakuramori?” ”Bingo. And although I would’ve loved to drop you off at their main branch, I shouldn't have to tell you that we might be running into trouble if we appear like this out of the blue. Let alone the chance that we might be followed… so I'm heading towards Sakuramori instead. Just to be safe.” Avide nodded and slowly started lowering himself as to cruise through the clouds rather than above them. Kenna allowed herself to fall unto her back and stared up at the sky, reaching out her hand towards it. ”After all these years… I had no idea. Why didn't she take me with her when she escaped?” The white-haired maiden asked. ”Because your father wasn't sure they'd let her go. Despite this being more of a “divine intervention” wanting to take him and his work down, your mother would've had even less of a chance getting out alive if she were to cross a hostile demon's path. They obeyed him, but in times of chaos ‘accidents’ are prone to happen. He didn't want to take that risk, and entrusted your life to me instead. Perhaps it was also the fact that I knew my way well around the area leading towards nearby settlements, the shortcuts within the demon realm… you tell me. But it seems his final decision wasn't a bad one after all, it seems… both of you are still alive.” Avide smiled, albeit sadly. ”If only he had survived too…” Kenna sighed shortly and let her extend hand back down, having it rest upon her chest as she sat back up.

”What about my mom? I mean, my biological one. What do you know about her?” Her crimson eyes stared at the back of his head far too curiously; the shapeshifter didn’t need to see them to feel them burning through his skull. ”Calm down little one, I'll tell you what I know… even though it isn't much.” Avide whispered that last part underneath his breath, yet it didn’t escape the slayer's ears. ”Anything's better than nothing at all! C'me on, speak up!” she said cheerfully, purposely hopping to annoy him. ”Fine, fine! Your mother hails from the Liu, a large, rather important main family located in Midi. They branched out to Fiore over time, and the main family located here is keen on keeping up traditions. So you can put two and two together when your father put his eyes on her… he kept their meeting quite a secret, not even letting me in on the details, but I'm guessing he “swept” her away in an old-fashioned abduction as to make sure your mother didn't get in too much trouble with her family. Buuut, it's-- what’s that?! Avide cut his sentence short and pulled his head towards a specific spot within the never-ending pink petalled sea beneath them. Although they were still very high up, Kenna too became aware of the faint sounds of battle being carried up by the wind.

Both grew silent, and instead of communicating with words resorted to signals and nods to make themselves clear to one another. Kenna gestured for Avide to lower himself so she could oversee the woods better and channeled magic to her eyes, feeling the burning fire essence shift her pupils into a more elongated form as her irises started glowing; the effects of her infrared vision now fully activated. Down below she could make out several dots, and the longer she looked the more appeared. Some moving hastily, others remaining in place. She could sense that the heat around two dots in particular was excessively more present than the others combined, and got a strange feeling to surface in her stomach. The demoness asked for Avide to go as low as possible for his size, and as they flew over the large pink carpet that was the trees’ leaves, let him roar at the top of his longs to confuse the ones underneath. And as he did, Kenna jumped off his back without a second thought, soaring down several meters before falling through the upper layers of the trees. Grabbing hold of a thick branch she made a turn, shifting her falling trajectory to be in between the fighting people. She could see two women surrounded by a large group of warriors, seemingly in a pinch. Her instincts took over as she hit the ground and immediately bent into a crouched position. ”Small announcement; THE FLOOR IS LAVA!” Kenna exclaimed loudly as she slammed her hand into the ground, where the heat she emmenated from it immediately started reducing the ground's solid state to a mere liquid one, literally melting the area in the blink of an eye. The heat spread quickly, and with it the size of the molten earth underneath her, enveloping the white-haired demoness as well. Although it did not seem to affect her one bit, as if the heat never bothered her anyway. Kenna moved her fingers slightly to direct the heat, aiming it towards the large group in front of assailants; with it the lava would spread their way faster, but would still come to engulf the area behind her in due time. ”I don't know who you are, but I'd advise you not to get caught by the lava.” Kenna ushered while looking at the two women behind her. ”Use the distraction wisely to take them out, because this'll disappear again soon!”

Post by Guest 28th November 2018, 1:58 am

Mia and her mother weren't doing so well, there were just too many people for both of them to be working on. Now like usual, there was always one thing or another stopping them when it came to these guys. Mia and her mother just wanted a nice time together, but with them ambushing both of them like this could only really mean one thing...

"We were spied and followed on, I am sure of it." Mia announced to her mother as she glanced around. "And you're right! Some are dropping from the trees right now! They really want to kill us." Mia was absolutely shocked at what she was seeing. It was like they really did want both of them gone for one reason or another. It just wasn't really fair, but then again, was life ever fair??

Nonetheless, the two of them got themselves ready, they had to make sure they continued to fight until the rest of them are down, or until the ones that remain standing bugger off to let the mother and daughter be. They wouldn't like it if Mia and her mother did the exact same thing to all of them, would they??

About to strike, the two of them heard the "small announcement" that came out of nowhere, and the floor really did become a hot fiery mess. While her mother panicked, Mia knew that her mother could take any out that headed for the trees. Grabbing her mother, she jumped high into a tree and plopped her on it's branch.

"You can take out the escapees here, me and the other girl will handle it." Mia mumbled as she then jumped out from the tree, much to her mother's dismay.

Jumping down from the tree, Mia glanced around for safe spots from the lava while the others started to scramble to the trees, her mother was taking them out easily though, and without any problems.

Mia continued to take down the others with the bo staff while letting the other girl do whatever else she wanted. Thanks to the other girl, she felt a burst of energy and motivation, feeling much more encouraged. Strength really do come in numbers.

Slowly but surely, Mia knew that it wasn't much longer before they will be down and out for the count. With this, Mia spread her arms out elegantly and then summoned wings that resembled a phoenix. With these wings, she started to fly high in the air. When she was high enough due to her phoenix wings, she swooped down low, catching a ton of the invaders in flames, while hoping that she didn't get the girl on flames at the same time.

Thanks to the work of the mysterious girl, her mother catching people out in the trees, and Mia's quick thinking, the three of them have defeated all the invaders in time, causing Mia to finally relax.

Mia landed on the ground slowly and then placed her hands on her knees, breathing heavily. She was glad it was all over. Her mother soon dropped from the trees and then walked over to her daughter, placing her hand on her shoulder and squeezing it. This caused Mia to smile at her mother and then she stood up, finally glancing over at the newcomer.

"You have my thanks." Mia chuckled as she crossed her arms. "I am so glad someone came in time, there was way too many for me and my mother." She then walked over to the picnic basket and then noticed how damaged it was thanks to the battlefield that ensued on the pink landscape. "Dang, we can't have that picnic anymore."

Her mother wasn't listening to Mia, however. Instead, she was looking at the young woman and then walked towards her.

"I feel connected to you somehow." Mia's mother then said. "I must ask... are you a demon of some sorts...??" She then asked.

Mia glanced up to her mother and then was taken aback. She was acting so weird right now! Why though?? There was no need for that, right?? Was there something her mother was hiding from her? Because now that her mother mentioned it, she felt a strong bond with the girl too.

"I feel awkward." Mia admitted before sighing softly. She just wanted to go home.

While the two spoke to each other, Mia kicked a tree and then a cone-shaped pile of cherry blossom leaves just shoved itself straight on top of her immediately. This left her arms and her head dangling out a little bit. What really annoyed her was the fact that she wanted to go home and rest, and she wanted some little help. But no, none of them things were happening because her mother and the girl were talking!

"a little help here?!" Mia exclaimed while chuckling to herself awkwardly.

”I… don't know. Do we?” Kenna tilted her head slightly as the woman closed in. She looked surprisingly young, but the crow's feet around her eyes, cleverly hidden by neat strands of hair, betrayed her age to be older than she expected. The demoness stared back at the dark-haired woman for a lot longer than she was intending to, and was met with a gaze similar to hers, only the eye-color differed.

Avide appeared from in between the thicket, not in any of his animal forms as he usually did, but in his 9 feet tall true demon form. A form he'd received after Kenna had awakened to her own demonic side, as part of the guardian pact the two shared with one another. The large demon stared down upon the pile of petals before him, and more particularly at the head and arms sticking out of it. The young woman in the petally predicament had the same scent as the woman Kenna was talking to, but out of politeness did not barge into their conversation. Instead, he made himself known to his master and the twosome by simply stating her name. ”Kenna,” he ushered, then redirected his gaze again and frowned softly at the dark-haired woman still struggling to free herself from the pile of flowery fluff. A sigh left his lips as he shook his head and plunged his arms into the pile to take hold of the young woman. ”Let me get you out of this mess first, little miss.” Avide said, picking her up and lifting her out of the pile. However, somewhat torn with where to put her down, kept holding her like a baby, with both his hands underneath her arms so she had no other choice but to dangle around. ”Uh, let me just put you down here.” He muttered quickly, putting her down beside him and started to dust the stray petals off her clothing.

Kenna in the meanwhile had been looking the older darkhaired woman down from tip to toe, trying to make out why exactly she felt familiar. She'd never seen her before, that was for sure. Not now nor in her previous life, so what was this sensation of familiarity about her. Avide, having finished cleaning Mia, now started making his way towards Kenna, and took a better look at the woman she was talking to. As he did, his face turned pale and his eyes widened in shock before he sunk to his knee in a courteous bow. ”Your highness.” he said, bowing his head deeply, his hand across his heart. The white-haired demoness stared at her guardian in confusion, and met eyes with him in silent questioning. Avide looked up at her and nodded. ”Kenna, allow me to introduce to you the King's Consort, Quanyin Liu… your biological mother.” The demoness stared at Avide in disbelief, then back at Quanyin, and blinked, her eyes mixed with surprise and happiness. My mother…? She, we…” Kenna shifted her attention back to the woman entirely and swallowed the lump forming in her throat. ”I mean…. we've been looking everywhere for you… I'm Kenna, Caradhras’ daughter… your daughter,” Tears sprung to her eyes as the feelings finally hit home. ”I finally found you, mom…”
