In the Dark of the Night Empty In the Dark of the Night

Post by Kitalpha Aurence 1st November 2018, 1:15 pm

Kitalpha watched Ace of Spades’s territory beneath her from atop a nearby hill, wondering. Something had lead her here, for a first time her guts had told her what way to go, and her body unconsciously had followed its directions up until this very point. The feeling tensing up her stomach at this moment was just as strange; the blonde had never been one to carry a weak stomach, and normally didn’t even have the slightest of problems no matter how grand and elaborate the meal… or how wrong the contents of it were when she experimented with new ingredients. Yet now it was there, squeezing and pulling at her insides over and over again, as if an unseen hand was crushing her intestines into a small, condensed ball. She swallowed slowly and felt the demandingly agitating itch of an incoming sneeze suddenly break through her train of thoughts. A strong pulse ran through her body as she convulsed into an utmost violent sneeze, and groaned softly after it had passed. This almost seemed like an allergy, and according to her elders (and Horama), was something beings sensitive to the moon’s quantities had when danger was impending or changes to the moon’s essence were about to occur. Kitalpha sighed once the itchy feeling had overthrown her a few times more and tucked a strand of loose blonde locks back behind her ear. She hated this. Her guts acting up and showing her the way was already strange enough, but to have all her power literally sneezed out of her because of a full moon and some so-called omen was just too much. Frankly, she was tempted to just head on down and get a place to sleep rather than wander around for yet another night of nothing.

But fate seemed to have something else in store for the young blonde warrioress, as with brewing winds she was halted even before being able to take her first step. The blonde huffed as a strong sensation crept up on her, and she stared up towards the sky. Clouds gathered fast around a single point, blocking  out the sunlight and growing darker by the minute. They did not seem like regular cumuli though, as the dimmed light kept on fading even further whilst the sky grew ever so dark; from a lifeless dark grey to a deep, deep obsidian void. Devoid of life or light, not a single star shone within it, nor did the sun or moon… as if every source of light was being swallowed by the neverending darkness. Kitalpha stared in awe at the phenomenon, as the winds kicked up harder and harder with every shade the sky grew darker; unchained by whatever was causing it. The cursed Aurence felt how the planet bent underneath the laws of physics now thrown asunder, from every core of her body she did. Within her, something stirred. She couldn’t resist it. Her eyes were burning as if she’d been staring into the sun for too long, felt dry and painful, while her mouth and fingers alike cramped up constantly, as if something was pulling at the nerves located there. She tried to grab her head but jolted back in shock as she stared upon them; her hands, adorned with nails almost claw-like in nature; long and sharp, just like her canines, who now very visibly adorned her smile and softly pressed within her lower lip whenever she closed her mouth. Realising that her cursed wolf attributes had been forced out with this phenomenon, she did not need to gaze upon a mirror to know what was happening to her eyes. Crimson irises, divided by elongated predatorial pupils; a savage gaze itching to hunt. Normally this form would only show itself when her bloodlust had surfaced, or when she had to rely upon her curse too much. Yet now she’d done none of those things. She was calm of mind, did not feel the urge to shred things apart. A frown almost vividly depicted upon her facial features. In the back of her mind, Horama spoke softly. ”Strange… I can’t even feel you tapping into my powers, so why are they being displayed like this?” he muttered, to which the blonde shrugged. ”If I’d known the answer you’d be aware of it before even telling you. But I know just as much as you do… which is an awful lot of nothing. Any idea what this entails, Horama?” Kitalpha whispered underneath her breath, building up her composure again as she aimed her gaze back upon the village now clad in darkness. ”Needless to say that this sudden eclipse is the source of it all, but it feels familiar. The essences riding upon the moonless sky, this dust... utmost curious. But I think we’ll have to make time and leave meandering about this for another moment, as it seems we’ve got ourselves some company.” Horama chuckled directing his attention to the left. Three lights were heading their way; soundless, but fast.

The lights became more detailed as they got closer; from an illuminated stick to a small little flame dancing in the wind, unwilling to succumb to the rough tides the skies had summoned. And once they had gotten close enough, the flames stopped, dancing around her in a circle as they started surrounding her, slowly circling around her being. The blonde stared at the flames one by one, but couldn’t make out much more than the candle… and the darkness underneath it almost existing of another fabric than the surrounding dark. Then all of the sudden, they stopped moving, and upon the illuminated grimace of sharp rows of white teeth, Kitalpha knew she'd let her enemies come too close within range.

    The Demon King

    ”“
Kite was inside the Yggdrasil when the chaos began outside in Fiore, the realm past the branch, the portal that lead to the guild hall wouldn’t be affected by the events that had been played so he was completely unaware in the isolation that was pushed onto the Sabertooth Guild. The only hint if being able to indicate that something big was about to go down was this sudden pit in his stomach. It was a feeling he was very familiar with as he was use to getting this sensation rather frequently but only acted as an omen and usually while he was in a dream. He snapped his head in the direction where the door that lead to the hallway right outside his room in the Yggdrasil as someone walked past his door, ”Hey!“ his voice boomed which caught the attention of the passer by who took a step backwards peer into the room and make eye contact with Kite. “What can I do for you master Kite?” Kite gave a sigh ”It’s just Kite. Take the portal to the Ace of Spades and give me an update on the status over there.“ the member smiled and saluted at him. “Right away master.” But before the slayer could correct him the man he gave the task to ran down the hallway and was gone. ”I’d be surprised if there wasn’t something going on.“ he up from his chair and walked around his desk and with solid footsteps, his boots clicking against the floor with stride until he came to a stop at the wall that he hung his weapons on. He reached up and grabbed the hilt of his sword with a short nudge upward he was able to pull it from the hooks that held it up. With a mild spin he pulled the trigger and retracted the blade into its base form and put it across the small of his back so the sword was hooked atm his belt parallel with the ground. The next item he pulled from the wall would be his prize, his Rose. He held Rose in a way that the barrel of the cannon pointed upwards so he could get a clean view. With a twirl he spun the gun once before pressing it against the side of his leg where vines wrapped around it securing it there. “MASTER KITE!!!” Kite hurried to the door to meet the member that he had sent out to Ace of Spades to determine if there was something wrong, he had to guess yes. ”What is it?“ The man skidded to a stop and turned right back around to run towards the portal, “ This way.” He would stop at the portal waiting for Kite to catch up. “There is something that is blocking out the sun and a messenger from the council gave this to me… this is bad.” He held the message and Kite took it to read. Apparently the events from last year were occurring and the forces of the night sought to take over everything again. While in his hand the paper smoked and then ignited the sheet of paper until the piece of parchment became ash.

After dropping the fiery sheet of parchment from his hand and let it become ash dismissing the news with a scoff, ”What a joke. This was information that should have been in my hands weeks ago.“ His boots clicked as he walked through the hall but then stopped realizing he didn’t need to physically enter the portal to land in Ace of Spades. His Sabertooth crest began to glow that resulted in a ripple opening before him and he stepped through the portal only to come out the other side at the entrance to Red Dragon Inn. There was no light on Fiore Side, and the air stank of something evil. ”So much for an easy time.“ His red eyes were focused on the darkened sky but then was brought down into the streets of Ace of Spades where canine like creatures with candles fused to their backs. ”Down boy.“ he said as he pulled Rose from his hip and compressed the trigger releasing one of the thorn like projectiles into a Wolf about to pounce onto a civilian. It yelped and dropped to the ground with a Rose like plant growing from the wound. ”Riksqonzqa!“ he called for his horse and as it rose from the ground like a demon from hell, the hell horse was mounted by Kite and headed towards the edge of town where he could feel the presence of something sinister. It didn’t take long to find the source of the sinister feeling coming from a rather attractive blonde haired women however she was currently surrounded by the candle backed dogs. ”Well now that is interesting. Let’s make a grand entrance boy!“ The horse came up behind one of the hounds and slammed its front hooves into its back crushing it. ”Run wild boy, these are mine.“ he said as he hopped off and landed in front of the young lady ignitng his fiery aura. ”I don’t know who or rather what you are but you and I will have some words when this is over.“

In the Dark of the Night Empty Re: In the Dark of the Night

Post by Kitalpha Aurence 10th December 2018, 3:16 pm

The beasts with candle-adorned heads stalked closer quickly, and quite easily circled around the blonde, who was now entirely surrounded. A growl echoed in the darkened sky, and she replied in turn to the beasts, slowly moving along with the one that seemed the alpha. If they were to attack she had to take it down immediately if she wanted to stand a chance; if she couldn't, even she wasn't quite sure she'd be able to take them on without getting major damage. One of the candlewolves at her side slowly sunk through its front paws, muscles tensing up as it readied itself to pounce the warrioress; however, it stopped midway and perked its ears, trying to catch the sound that rapidly approached them on the hilltop. Yet it was too late for the monstrous canine to turn its head, for the source had already appeared before them.

Kitalpha could only gawk at the large body of flames that galloped up to the hilltop. It had appeared as a small dot of light in the distance, yet its hooves boomed through the earth like a heavy cavalry in full charge, only to grow even larger than she would've believed possible. Upon its back sat a silhouette, of whom she could only vaguely see his face through the reflecting light of the flaming horse’s blazing manes. His voice however boomed just as strongly as the horse's hooves. She could feel the pressure coming from this man, as did the candlewolves, who all winced as the man ordered his horse to charge ahead. The large equiline animal hulked over one of her aggressors and smashed her thundering hooves into the monstrosity, catapulting it away from the blonde's immediate vicinity. Gazing upon the magnificent beast Kitalpha failed to notice its rider had gone missing until the man landed right in front of her, shielding her from the remaining candlewolves in front of her.

What she gazed upon was a broad back a fair bit taller and muscular than her, covered by a red leather coat perfectly fitting his figure, and dark blueish spiky hair, turned in a slick thin ponytail. As the man ignited his flames his features became even more visible to her eyes, be it that she still hadn't seen his face at this moment. The heat forced her almost instantly; Kitalpha flinched and moved backwards instinctively. ”Ack, hot hot hot!” Kitalpha exclaimed as she did, keeping quite a few paces worth of distance, and remaining wary of the newcomer. The words he spoke however hurt her pride, and deep inside even her heart, although she didn't allow a stranger -or anyone for that matter- to see the latter. The blonde growled underneath her breath as she snapped back at the man more insulting than planned. Call it a bad habit of hers. ”’What’ is a regular human being of flesh and blood just like you, jackass.” Some of the remaining candlewolves decided to go on the offensive and pushed themselves off for a leaping attack, one in the front aiming for Kite's throat, the other from his side, trying to execute a pincer attack on the newcomer. The slightly annoyed blonde reacted to the wolf coming from the side and slammed her suddenly gauntlet-covered fist straight into its maw, sending it smashing into the ground below her. ”And secondly,”. She shifted her head swiftly to see how Kite was doing, waiting for him to deal with the remaining wolf before speaking further. ”What would there be to discuss? By all means you wouldn't think me to be the source of this wickedness, now would you?” Kitalpha ushered, looking him straight in the eyes with an almost deviant look in her crimson eyes. Her fists remained clenched as to hide her claw-like nails, while she softly bit the inside of her lip to cover the elongated canines in her mouth. She was nervous, no doubt. Yet another human judging on her looks alone to make the equation. Not that she could blame him though; the way she appeared as now was indeed one of dodgy appearance, no matter how you'd twist or turn it. Yet that didn't mean she was as heartless as to not be bothered by his way of speaking. Or the power fluctuating around him. This man, whomever he was, had maybe jumped in to save her, but in all honesty there was no proof he was in fact on her side just yet… and with her current luck, and the situation at hand, she couldn't seem to calm the nerves eating away at her consciousness. She gave the man another cautious look. ”And even that aside, who are you to speak with such tone against me?”
