It was a good day for travel, in my eyes. Not too hot, not too cold, and all I needed was an umbrella to keep the sun from my face. My appearance was different then usual, at least, different than usual to those around me. My hair was a bright copper, my usually pale skin had a slight tan, and my eyes were blue-grey. I made the clothes around me, and they were a dark grey, nearly black, as that's the only color I can make with any accuracy right now. I made myself leggings, with a skirt that came to around my mid-thigh. My shirt was a simple blouse with a windbreaker. It wasn't fancy by any means, but it was comfortable, and functional for the activity I planned for today: picking up my very own ILac. The creators of the ILac were giving them out, the downside was I had to travel in a most... pedestrian fashion; I had to walk. It had been a few days from Hargeon, hours of walking and hitchhiking my way to the outskirts of the Neutral Grounds, a place with no magic. It was the reason I changed my appearance and made these clothes, as they're changed permanently, well, permanently, until I decide to change them. The only difference here is that I won't be able to in the Neutral Grounds. I'm hoping that I won't need my abilities today, but even if I did, I won't have them. I came into contact with the anti-magic area that permeates the Neutral Grounds and around around noon, the sun casting a direct shadow from my umbrella down onto me, creating a shadowy cloak to which I was hidden under. I approached the checkpoint which acted as the lawful passage for newcomers to pass through. I approached the post to which the stationed beaurocrat was waiting with calm determination, feeling the emptiness my lack of magic gave me, and noticing the spur it put in my stride. I approached calmly, and spoke to the man, expressing my reason for arriving, and my goal in the Neutral Grounds, retrieving an ILac for myself. He sighed, and after ten minutes of waiting on my part, and 5 minutes extra of paperwork, I was giving a go ahead to enter the city, and rudimentary directions which pointed me towards the ILac factory. I thanked the man, noticing the lack of my charm on the poor man, before continuing into the technocratic's dream city. The city of Neutral Grounds was astonishingly different from other cities of its scope, as the buildings were of remarkably similar design from on building to the next, mainly square, many of which stood as tall as to impede the sky. Some of these buildings were alight with yellow and white; allowing the occupants to see, I suppose. I walked down the synonymous streets, black stone lined with yellow and bordered with grey squares, for an hour or so before the strange square building pointed out to me as the ILac Factory came into view, it's diminutive size in comparison to the buildings previous was noticeable, though less so in regards to the cylindrical towers spewing smoke, and rising into the skies themselves. I shrugged it off partially, musing to.myself as to the differences in technology without magic. (Gods I wish I didn't pay attention in school.) I approached the entrance not an hour later, to which I was greeted by an employee, who inducted me, alongside a veritable, though rather small group of what surmounted to tourists. We were given a lengthy, and rather disinteresting tour, though I paid attention to avoid rudeness though I was forced to cover up a rather embarrassing yawn halfway through with half truths and platitudes l, which was both annoying, and tiring. At the end of the tour, we were each given an ILac for joining into the tour and coming in, and I took mine graciously. After receiving it, and I'm given the instruction as how I am to activate it, before leaving the factory, prize in tow. I made my way hurriedly back to the entrance, and out to where my magic resided, and headed home with my wings.
