Job Description: Benjamin Rellock has reported being menaced by mysterious men who confronted him shortly after “Hidden Knowledge” was delivered to his home by Silver Wolf. They demanded that he hand over his purchase, but Mr. Rellock refused. He believes that the men followed Silver Wolf to his home and will attempt to break into his two-story mansion and steal the book from his vault. Aid from Silver Wolf has been requested.

Notes: Silver Wolf’s primary mission is to protect the book. Mr. Rellock is in no immediate danger since the thieves will prioritize getting the book, but should he interfere too much he may become a target. It is suggested to protect Mr. Rellock anyway.

Mr. Rellock’s mansion is a two-story structure with an extensive library. The rest of the house is also lavishly decorated. The exact details of the house are up to the player.

How participants guard the book is up to them. Just watch the vault carefully!

Enemies:

Weak: Thugs x8: These men rely on intimidation to get their way. They wear black clothing and carry wooden clubs. Their clubs deal 1 C-ranked damage. Their lack of armor means that one C-ranked hit is enough to defeat them.

Normal: Rogues x4: These men fight with speed and agility. They wear dark red clothing and carry knives and shortswords. Their weapons deal 2 C-ranked damage. They take two C-ranked hits to defeat, but they can dodge one C-ranked hit per post. They can picked locked doors, so it is advised to watch doors carefully.

Strong: Master Thieves x2: They prefer to use stealth to do their jobs without being seen, but are more than able to defend themselves if forced into combat. They wear black clothing and black light armor. They carry knives and shortswords but also carry throwing knives for a surprise distance attack. All their weapons deal 3 C-ranked damage and are often coated in poison that temporarily blurs the vision of their opponents, allowing them a chance to either run away or press the attack. The poison also deals ½ C-ranked damage for three turns.

Their light armor allows them to take three C-ranked hits before being defeated, but hitting them will be difficult because their agility lets them dodge one C-ranked hit per post. They can pick locked doors, so it is advised to watch doors carefully.

Boss: Any Mob (double the numbers): After the main attempt fails, the thieves will make one last effort to take the book. They will arrive in twice the numbers. The mob selected retains the stats of the base mob.

Reward: C-ranked EXP and 20K Jewels. If “Hidden Knowledge” is safe, Mr. Rellock will give it to Silver Wolf for safekeeping. The book has plot significance in that it grants access to Dead Languages, the next job in the chain.
