Type:
Dagger
Description:
- Appearance:
Strengths:
- Dark colour means it's hard to see when used in dark places.
- Excellently balanced for both close combat and throwing.
- The hole in the pommel allows for attaching a rope, chain or wire.
Weaknesses:
- As a dagger it's still not going to stand up against big melee weapons.
- Primarily meant for stealth, not full blown combat.
- As a throwing weapon, it's not as accurate or powerful as a projectile weapon at long distances.
- Requires skill and dexterity to wield. Unsuitable for displays of raw strength.
- Hard to see in dark places, but very noticeable if it's bright.
Abilities:
- B-Rank: Bannou (万能):
Bannou is a term which implies utility or universal purposefulness, and Suku is meant to be useful in nearly any situation, Suku is a variable dagger with several enchantments interwoven with as sole purpose increasing its utility. With the first enchantment the owner can make Suku disappear: the dagger was forged and linked to the shadow realm, and a simple mental command will return it to that realm. In the same vein the dagger was forged by and linked to the owner, and a similar mental command will return the weapon to the owner, regardless of where it might be at the time (unless inside a barrier which prevents items travelling to and from the shadow realm). The second enchantment allows the owner to change its size from anywhere between 6 inches and 2 feet as long as they're holding the weapon. These two interwoven enchantments are meant to ensure that Suku will always have its use.
- B-Rank: Chouda (長蛇):
Chouda is a term used both for snakes and things of great length, and this enchantment certainly fits both meanings. With a mental command a dark line will form between the pommel of the dagger and one of the owner's hands, as long as the dagger is within range (using spell ranges). This line will form along the shortest unobstructed path between weapon and owner, and interacts normally with physical objects. The line can be retracted or extended at will, but not beyond the maximum length that it can be formed. The snakelike part of this line is that it can be made to 'bite' people, as it can either act like rope or as razor sharp wire, harmlessly wrapping around objects or slicing through them if taut (dealing Rank weapon damage).
The line can be dismissed at will, and can be cut with slashing damage of equal Rank in weapon damage or broken if directly hit by anything of equal Rank in spell damage.
