Izayuki Hyoujin ♦ Black Rose ♦ B Rank

How it had happened was completely beyond anyone's comprehension. The scene was jovial and nice as usual, with the members of Black Rose simply hanging out in the tavern area on the second story of the guildhall. Nobody could have counted on what was about to happen... the guild's pet, a giant mechanic robot, was fairly well known. The robot, known as C.A.S.S.I.E., was somewhere in the guildhall. Nobody knew where, nor did anyone care. The robot could be summoned with a faint pink light if they were approved to do so by both the robot herself, and the guild's master, Kakuma.

Izayuki knew Cassie quite well. Back when she was a C-rank, a new member in the guild, Elyx had sent her a letter challenging her. It had been meant for training, but the pink-haired mage had eagerly accepted it. The battle system that Elyx used had been quite unique; it was a game of destroying three crystals above the opponent's head, and fairly straightforward. In reality, Izayuki had been winning... until Elyx, at A-rank, had decided to summon the giant mech. Why he could not handle the weaker tanuki on his own, she would never know. Nevertheless, Cassie had fired an attack directly at Izayuki's head, which she had narrowly dodged. Somehow, she had still managed to somewhat beat Elyx, even though the fight was considered a tie....
And even to this day, Izayuki disliked robots.

That evening, there were a good deal of strangers lounging around the tavern and Magna's bar. Not that they were not allowed there- they were Lavanitir citizens, and thus also a part of the Black Rose nation to a lesser degree. Yet the thing to occur next was most mysterious. Izayuki had recently found a job, and was readying herself to find Kakuma to nag the wolf to go with it, when all scent or trace of their guildmaster was gone. Seeing this, the next course of action was to look for Sophie, who typically had tabs on where their flighty and flirty light demon slayer was... yet, nothing. The ginger was nowhere to be found.

Making her way to the tavern with the job flier in hand, and a confused expression on her face, Izayuki flopped down at a table- namely, Marschal's table. She was about to begin asking around and inquiring as to where the Black Rose leader was, when a loud explosion could be heard. Instantly, the Bakedanuki leaped to her feet, unsheathing her claws instinctively, with the fur on her tail and ears bristling. The explosion had come from Kakuma's Office, and an entire wall has been decimated, revealing the silhouette of the massive white robot among the flames. With mechanical whirring being obvious, the robot began her approach towards the exposed tavern, arsenal fully loaded. With another volley of deafening shots, Cassie began to fire her deadly bullets towards the guild and their guests...

Yes, all hell was breaking loose.

Post by Neyvahn Keyvolo 14th July 2016, 2:07 am

It was like any other day for Neyvahn, hanging around people he didn't want to hang around for the purpose of building a tolerance. The Tavern was bustling with people and everyone was enjoying themselves. Neyvahn groaned. "Do we really have to be here?"

"Yes," Kei hummed from inside his head. "Your little annoyance for people is really gonna put a dent in your life later on. I'm just trying to help you, as a brother!"

Neyvahn moved passed another table full of loud and drunk apes. "This is 'helping?'" he sarcastically hissed. Kei found it very obvious that Neyvahn wasn't enjoying himself in the Tavern. Kinda odd though. Technically, it was the spot for a lot of other mages in the guild. If Neyvahn was going to become a well known mage, he'd have to drop the anti-social barrier around him and actually get himself known. Kei sighed. That wasn't going to happen any time soon, not with how he was acting. Neyvahn's feline ears flattened against his head as a loud group to his side burst into laughter. "You know what? I'm heading out-"

"You're not seriously giving up already, are you?" Kei interrupted. "What about Rose Garden? You barely batted an eye back then! What's different here-... oh I know," he mused in a fruity voice. "It's because Astrid isn't-"

"This place is enclosed with walls, so the sound waves echo off and amplify the noise. Rose Garden wasn't nearly as harsh on my ears as this." Neyvahn's cheeks got slightly warmer before going cold again. "This place is loud as hell."

For a few minutes, Neyvahn walked around, trying to find a seat where he'd actually have some space, but to no avail. The best he could find was a seat next to some shady guys playing around with daggers and knives. As if he was going to risk that. He may be a part of Black Rose, but hostility wasn't an uncommon trait among people. Neyvahn gave up, leaning against the tavern wall. "Yeah, I'm leaving soon."

"Fine," Kei surrendered. Finally free to leave the noise place, Neyvahn pushed off the wall and began heading for the exit. Unfortunately, he wouldn't reach it. A loud explosion shook the tavern, stopping Neyvahn dead in his tracks. His ears folded back and he turned to face the source of the noise, his hand on the hilt of his weapon. What he found was a little unnerving though. An entire wall was just shattered like it was made of glass, fires engulfing the room behind it, but in front of the fires? Neyvahn didn't know what it was. It almost seemed human, but it was too enormous... too mechanical to be human. Every hair on the back of Neyvahn's neck was up, screaming for him to get out of there. Whatever that thing was, didn't look friendly.

Suddenly, a noise came from the object, a whirring noise. Neyvahn's eyes went wide as his entire being shook down to the bone.

    "RUN!!!"

Neyvahn turned on his heel faster than he thought possible and sprinted for the exit. Gunfire screamed through the air into the crowds of people, tearing passed beer mugs, plates, tables... and people. A bullet whizzed through the air, ripping through Neyvahn's right shoulder. "Aargh!" The force of the hit spun Neyvahn onto the ground as he gripped his shoulder in pain.

"Brother! Are you okay?"Chaos broke throughout the entire tavern, every man and woman struggling to get out. Neyvahn could still see the enormous mechanized being tearing apart everything it could see.

"Yeah, I'm-" Suddenly, it turned towards him.

    "Hurry, put up Marshall Wall!"

Neyvahn mentally cursed, planting his hand on the wooden floor and shouting "Gadokabe!" The ground between the robot and the people still running shifted and turned, rising up to create a wall. Neyvahn did what he could to focus and keep the wall up. Hopefully, everyone could get out before the wall collapsed from either time or bullets. Before even two or three seconds of the wall being up, it was instantly torn apart by the mechanized robot, collapsing back into the ground. Neyvahn motioned with his uninjured arm to any civilians still running. "Everyone get out! Now!"

Noise, there was loud noise, not uncommon to Irina considering how she was often doing things with magic lacrima harvested from the lacrima fields and considering the nature of her magic it was only the more common for Irina to hear it. Noise, this was a strange one the labs were left empty, apparently a strange mention that most of the lacrima in the lacrima fields had suddenly gone dry without much explanation, only that they were now just a massive crystal dump. Irina still had several lacrima that still held power namely the ones she didn't attempt to blow up in her research but she had no intention of blowing them up. Irina stood at her desk looking at at the empty lab before her as then suddenly even more noise erupted from above. "That, is no small fight." Irina started to make way for the elevator ready to break up whatever scrap was going on up above when suddenly her whole lab shook at the sounds of heavy caliber gunfire rang out. "That is no fight... THAT'S AN ATTACK!" With haste Irina didn't bother taking the elevator instead she started to jump and vault her way up the shaft instead.

Her eyes widened as she reached the top as she looked on to the scene of the majority of the guild hall laying in ruins the culprit the untrustworthy robot known as CASSIE a creation of Kakuma's doing. There was little standing in the way of those that were escaping helplessly and the machines magitech weapons which were ripping into a wall created by one of the guilds members. "Kakuma, I knew creating artificial intelligence was a bad idea." She growled gritting her teeth as she began to move like the wind stepping before the young lad who had been battered by the assault in an attempt to save others. "By my hands, I will end you!" Irina growled out as she held up her hand revealing layers of bandages from a scrap with a traitor many weeks earlier which had refused to fully heal. "RHO AIAS!" She announced as the multilayered shield appeared to take the bombardment off of the pour young one behind her. "If you can still move, it may be in your best interest to leave with the drunken ones." She issued her warning as the first three layers of the shield shattered leaving the fourth layer cracked and ready to shatter itself. "I will handle this myself." She grumbled as the next three layers shatter leaving only one final layer to handle the rest, she knew she was putting far to much on her shoulders in her given state but to her the guild was far more important, she would gladly die here than leave them to die. The final layer broke with a shatter sending a shock through Irina's entire arm as the groosum sound of bones cracking echoed out along the with sound of a rather large metal bracelet shattering embedding shrapnel in the now crushed arm and much of Irina's chest as well. I see, so I couldn't even stand up to something created by Kakuma nevermind Kakuma herself, I guess I really am fallen. She thought to herself as she fell to her knees in defeat though with a smile on her face as she knew she bought just enough time for the remainder of the escapees to make their escape.

Two minutes before the guildhall went ka boom Akeldama was sipping on her root beer discontentedly. She had not managed to convince the bar tender she was merely a lolita girl, and not actually a child. So this was what she was stuck with. She sighed, looking around and spotting an important looking door. The fifteen year old looked around, and in seeing the staff was busy and that everyone was preoccupied with their own drunken shenanigans, she eased her way up, leaving her drink as if heading to the bathroom. However before making the turn for said door she made one quick more skim around the room to check that no one had noticed her, then slipped into the room.

And found… Nothing. This was the most bare bones office of all time. There weren’t even any papers on the desk. Akeldama shut the door behind herself and edged further in, opening the drawers to see if there were any treasures she might be able to pilfer as vengeance for not serving her any alcohol.

    Ten seconds.

In finding nothing in the drawers she looked behind herself to see that there was a square black vault. That was most likely where they kept the earnings of the bar. A wicked grin spread across her face as she began to reach for the lock mechanism. Metal. Perfect.

    Zero.

A large explosion sent Akeldama flying backwards and hitting the door from which she had entered hard. As someone flung open the door to escape Akeldama was hit for a second time, slammed between the wall and the door.

    Ow.

Post by Kiru 14th July 2016, 9:14 pm

Well. This was normal. Kiru strolled through the second floor of the guildhall with her usual emotionless expression. She seemed to care little about all the people around her, who returned with similar feelings. The noise was definitely irritating, but it wasn't anything the apparent tolerant Demon Slayer couldn't handle. Her focus was on something else. A drink. An unusual goal for a girl like Kiru, as most would rarely see her make any effort to fit in to the usual rabble the guildhall found itself in. People laughed, their drinks spilled on the floor, and one big fellow's chair leg seemed to have given up completely, snapping in half and landing a few feet in front of Kiru. He simply shook his head from shock, and burst out laughing with the rest of his drinking buddies, which of course faded into the crowd in Kiru's mind. The twilight mage finally reached the other end of the large hall, and situated herself on a stool in front of the bar. Kiru simply nodded at the bartender, who judging by the expression on her face, or lack there of, knew exactly what to get for her...

As she waited, Kiru simply closed her eyes, letting her conscious fade away, and listen to the endless chatter and buzz of the hall, when all of a sudden her slayer sense kicked in, picking up something out of the ordinary.

With an enormous explosion, her cyan gaze shot open and her head spun in the direction of the disturbance. The laughing and cheering quickly turned into a loud array of running and screaming, as the smoke bellowed out of an enormous hole from which the fiery noise had come from. Kiru kicked off her stools and stared dead center into the smoke, her arms balled into fists with a serious looked locked on her face. It wasn't long after until the sound of large footsteps, and robotic whirring could be heard coming from the source... Oh no... Kiru thought silently to herself as her eyes slightly widened. It was exactly as she feared. CASSIE came lumbering out of the smoke, her weapons drawn. Before Kiru could even react, she let out another load. Her machine gun ripped through the air, in what seemed like no particular direction. Quickly Kiru turned around and dove behind the bar, tackling the bartender on her way. "Get down!" She screamed as the girl brought him and herself behind the counter. Just as CASSIE'S bullets ripped apart the glass bottles above them. Shards of the destruction rained down on top of her as she raised a hand to block it. ANother moment passed, and she already heard other members of Black Rose trying to subdue the unexpected enemy. Kiru clenched her fist and decided she needed to help. Soon, white balls of water began to manifest around both of her hands, and her eyes turned a shade of Crimson... She glared, waiting for the perfect time to strike. As soon as CASSIE had her attention elsewhere, Kiru vaulted over the counter, and sprinted forward. She elgentantly ducked, rolled and jumped her way over the destruction just to find a closer, more secluded spot next to the angry robot. A tipped table proved ample cover as Kiru quickly slid to it's edge, hiding herself from the robot as she had her attention focused on less fortunate mages. With a sudden scream, she heard the voice of a girl that could be labeled as familiar, but Kiru wasn't sure. She peered over the edge to confirm her suspicions. A red headed girl, who was one of the guild Aces in Kiru wasn't mistaken had apparently taken a direct blow from CASSIE in an effort to stall the robot from harming others. Valiant as it was, CASSIE proved to be too much for the woman, and broke through her defence. Witnessing the damage done to her superior, Kiru knew she couldn't do nothing. If she tried to attack the robot head on, she'd surly meet a similar fate. Seeing as most of the people had escaped, Kiru thought up a plan... She closed her eyes, and white mists began to form around both her fists as she leaned her back against the table. She barley flinched as another flurry of shots was barreling above her. Soon, the white mists expanded... Her eyes shot open, and Kiru vaulted on top of the table, kicking off of it to gain some air. Within an instant, she yelled, her hands exploded with thick mist around them, engulfing a small area in which the robot was situated in... Using her enhanced slayer sense, she quickly scoped out the area in a way only few others could. The thick fog she had created around CASSIE and herself would provide for a short distraction as she found her target. The robot whirred in a confused manner, it's body swinging in every direction looking for the source of the temporary smokescreen Kiru had created. It wouldn't be long until its sensors switched in, being able to identify her in mere seconds. She just needed to be faster then the robot. She elegantly rolled on the ground as she landed, and found herself over the wounded body of the guild ace. Using as much strength as she could spare, Kiru lifted her up, and attempted to drag her to safety, praying she wasn't too late...

Using what she could as cover, Kiru placed her down and observed her for a few seconds, assessing her wounds. It seemed her arm was definitely hurt, and probably broken in a few places. Not to mention the pieces of shrapnel lodged inside it as well. Without hesitation, Kiru put her hands over her, and they began to glow... She strained, trying to heal the excessive damage that had been dealt, not knowing if it would be enough to cure her fallen guild ace...

Ah, sleep: it was a wonderful thing, really. It rested the body, and sent the mind on a journey that could be filled with wonder and awe, or be absolutely embarrassing; or, those journies could be frightful and terrifying. Whatever happened during those nightly journies was of no concern to most people; most could never recall what happened in them, and those that could had little control over what went on in them. It was a dreamlike experience that had told Kistiñe that her sister was dead, but it was one she preferred not to talk about--very few even knew what had caused her to break into that nervous, panicked state that night. However, this morning was not about dreams or their effects on the mind of a promiscuous young woman, nor was it entirely about her; as she was sleeping the day away in the somewhat soundproofed haven known as her room in the guild hall, the building was being ravaged by a defense robot that was likely insulted at the notion of an unknowing patron using them as a garbage bin. The thuds and terrified excitement going on in the guild hall sounded like distant thunder and shouts from inside the Latina's as rockets destroyed walls and shook the foundation of the building. To the unaware occupant of the bed--still fully dressed from the previous day of running errands--it sounded like a couple mages had gotten into a scuffle and were causing a ruckus outside the door. It was only when the plaster on the ceiling started to chip and fall bit-by-bit onto her face did she rouse herself. Sitting up in the bed, hair plastered to one side of her face, she looked at the small pieces of contruction material sitting on her bed, but couldn't quite put it together in her head that there was something amiss. Clearly unaware that she was still dressed, she grabbed her bathrobe--a gaudy blue garment with toucans scattered across its surface--and put it on.

As she got up from the bed, she stubbed her toe on the edge something--she wasn't awake enough to know or care what it was--and shouted some cursing in tired, incomprehensible Spanish. She looked down and was greeted with a bleeding toe. After a bit more cursing and wrapping some tissues around it, walked towards the door as the ceiling fan came off it's mounting and fell onto the bed; in her dazed and tired state, she neither cared nor noticed as she walked out the door and into the guild hall. In a zombie-like fashion, she managed to get to the main floor. As people panicked and ran past or rushed to the aid of their comrades, Kistiñe's mind was only on one thing at the moment: getting a cup of coffee. Be it because she was too groggy to give a damn about anything else, or she was a creature of habit when it came to her mid-afternoon "morning ritual", she seemed oblivious to the chaos that was going on as she walked in front of the white robot and towards the kitchen, waving to it as if it were a person rather than a the malfunctioning death machine that was destroying everything around it for no readily apparent reason.

Thus far, the kitchen was untouched by the robot's rampage. Aside from pots falling on the floor and appliances and tools being tipped over and flung about by the shaking of the rockets, everything was relatively intact. As she had many mornings, she made her way to the back and grabbed a mug, subconciously avoiding the debris in the floor as she did, and finding the coffee machine. Turning it on, she put the mug underneath the dispenser and waited, filling it half way with the most caffeinated brew that Black Rose had before filling the other half with milk and honey. It was just then that a stray rocket blasted a hole where the door used to be--none of it flew far enough to hit where Kistiñe was standing due to being at the back of the kitchen. Still oblivious to what was going on, she walked out of the kitchen through the hole and stood just outside of it before taking a sip of her sugary concontion. Only after did she lower the mug and open her eyes did she realize that the robot was standing about ten meters out and looking straight at her. "Tienes que estar bromeando..." she muttered.

Izayuki Hyoujin ♦ Black Rose ♦ B Rank

“Seika! Go to the Runi Sanctuary and see if you can find Kakuma, or at least bring help!” Izayuki ordered her yokai-pet, who was sitting at a random table in human form. The Bakedanuki instantly recognized her with her cyan hair and eyes, and aura of attitude and ego that few could tolerate. Typically, the hybrid yokai would have rebelled against such demand, but the situation made it clear that there was no time for playing around. Wide-eyed, Seika shapeshifted into a swift-bird and made her way for the exit. She chose the fastest, small bird in her repertoire, which could reach speeds of over a hundred miles per hour naturally.

Izayuki, on the other hand, was turning her attention to what had ensued in the last few seconds. Neyvahn had defended a handful of people and was making his way for the exit. He seemed to be doing fine, but the main thing that Izayuki set her attention on was the red-headed Ace of Petals diving straight to help her guildmates, and to take on the massive mech. It was to be expected of Irina, after all, but such a decision was rash. “Irina!” the Ace of Stigma screamed out, watching her friend fall in battle within heartbeats.

During the time all of this was taking place, Izayuki had generated a giant shield of ice to defend a few innocent guildmates in the hall. After ordering them to quickly leave, could the pink-haired girl turn her focus officially to her injured comrade. Kiru had snapped into action and generated a field of mist all around the vicinity to confuse the berserker robot. This could only last for so long, however. Using her keen canine sense of smell to locate Kiru and Irina, or, most notably, Irina’s blood, the Ace darted towards the duo. She could almost scent the fear, the defeat, the despair, all of the negativity, wafting off of those fighting all around her. A few of their guildmates around had been shot and killed, so easily. Their blood stained the wooden tables, chairs, and floors of the Black Rose guildhall- a place where there should be no blood. “Irina. Don’t give up. Remember, you and I still have to get our revenge on that storytelling bastard for dissing the Black Rose name,” Izayuki murmured, attempt to fuel at least some hope in her wounded guildmate. Irina was not one to back down too easily- she had to keep going, somehow.

“Cassie! Enough of this! Why are you hurting our guildmates?” Izayuki attempted to reason with the white robot, her pink eyes narrowing on the one who had hurt so many in as little as sixty seconds, almost. She was not sure if the mech was capable of talking or not, but it did not matter as the sound of mechanical whirring ensued from behind the veil of mist, and more bullets were sprayed in their direction. Quickly breathing in, the God Slayer summoned as much magic power as she could muster, and attempted to exhale one of her strongest spells, trademark and unique to slayers. “Glacier God Howl!”

With the announcement of the spell, Izayuki released a giant vortex of swirling, churning, frosty, cold energy and ice that was infused and laced with the true, unholy darkness of a god-killer. The Howl managed to stop the swarm of bullets coming for the trio, freezing them in place before allowing gravity to claim them and hand them off to the floor. As for the robot, however, the spell hardly fazed it. It slowed it down a tad, yes, but there was no damage taken…. Wait… was that Kistine?

“Kistine! Get out of there!” Izayuki yelled, eyeing her latina guildmate so stupidly close to the berserker traitor robot. “Koorutomo,” she murmured, casting another spell to form a giant raptor-bird out of unholy ice. Travelling at high speeds, the ice summon attempted to swoop down and grab Kistine within its talons, and carry her outside of the guildhall to safety. Whether the latina would make this difficult or not was up to her. Another explosion sounded right before Izayuki turned her head towards Kiru and attempted to get her attention. “How is Irina doing? We have to evacuate everyone, now!”

Crumbs fell into her lap and yet the girl remained unfazed even as the thing eventually broke from her lips.

    People.

    People she vaguely recognized.

Eyes filled with horrified confusion, silently begging for answers to questions none of them could seem to vocalize. Growing dread as another one or few manifested next to them. A growing group stood before the white haired girl who moments before had been enjoying a tea party with a gaggle of stuffed beings. She’d required a small break from the world of the living, from all the faces she knew and yet the names eluded her. The sounds of their lives and even happiness starting to sound like mockery behind her back…and yet it took Shade a moment to realize they hadn’t come here to continue to unwittingly harass her.

    They’d died.

Blood stained their bodies in places though it took them moments to understand that pain no longer coursed through them. She watched as alarm startled them, jumping and hands roving over the spots they’d apparently been shot, then confusion as nothing…and then back to alarm, their minds likely blocking the why for as long as possible. And yet they found themselves in a less-than-welcoming world, odd things beyond the haze of light that hovered over them, glowing eyes and moving shadows more curious than anything, wondering if they might gain another piece soon and yet to people so used to fighting and envisioning monsters they could only imagine a potential attack.

They’d already lost the fight for their lives though.

Slowly her mouth began to chew as a few heads of creatures came into view, the oddly shaped beings conveying their curiosity better in the light than in the shadows. Shade felt their empathy, the beings understanding the same confusion and panic sweeping these people, able to see the conclusions slowly dawning, one of the first arrivals starting to break down into tears even as others focused more on their unasked questions instead of their reason for being here. She found the denizens’ reaction just as curious as any other time, the various beings almost wanting to comfort the newly dead…but she hadn’t quite figured out why and normally newcomers couldn’t figure that out either. Even as an oversized hand from her white rabbit Desa extended the ruler of this realm watched as one of the people stumbled in their haste to put some distance between him and the limb.

Finally one of them started to ask the questions they’d all been afraid to do so until now, ”Why…where-“

A hand silenced him, held up as Shade sipped from her teacup. She refused to stumble upon crumbs now, downing the rest of it before wiping her mouth on her sleeve, ”That’s no longer important. Not to you. We won’t waste words.”

Standing from the chair she walked passed them, as if not seeing the gaggle of people slowly growing. Not all the souls would end up here, but she’d see what caused this sudden influx – more curious because she recognized these faces. Step-by-step the frames of each person began to crack, another surge of panic in some who desperately clung to a life they no longer possessed flying through some even as others quietly accepted this inevitability. Jagged puzzle pieces fell to the floor, things she could later match as she pleased and mold into something new. Something that could forget its woes and regrets over time. Forget the various lives that comprised it and accept a new life.

Within moments she stood in her room back at the Black rose guild hall, the place filled with a cacophony of noise. Eyes winced as a hand went to her ear, the sound so jarring to the girl as she left only to find someone slumped in the hall after dragging themselves away from the source. A trail of blood littered the ground behind him, the man practically choking on his blood as a hand reached out to her, unable to even push out the word “please” as a coughing fit wracked him. Shade paid little heed to how it splattered against her white boots, eyes distant as she summoned the sword form of Morganna to her hand. The smooth, blue blade plunged through his neck, silencing the pain and torment of the man’s final moments: death already nipped at his heels. He’d been beyond help, anything she tried likely to cause unnecessary anguish and prolonging the inevitable. Besides she had more important things to worry about, an odd sensation gnawing at the inside of her chest: where was Magna? Was he near this chaos? Was he far away? Her only solace was that he hadn’t arrived in her realm yet, but she couldn’t be sure the red head wasn’t already bound to another afterlife either.

Everything was a blur, it was painful yet she couldn't understand if someone was standing over her or if she was buried under rubble. She tried to listen to the world only no words met her ears, she tried to blink but pain only surged through her head as she attempted. Unawares to her a piece of her own magic enhancing bracelet had managed to lodge itself in her right eye causing it to surge with pain whenever she tried to make any muscle related to it. She felt oddly cold as things moved about her in a blur, she concluded that she was indeed somewhere with people standing over her unless the world was crumbling around her. Irina's blurry eyes turned to despair as she strained to hear the voices around her, her left eye beginning to drip tears of mixed emotions as she attempted to understand. The signs of rain towered above the city, a sign of pain and sorrow though the rain had yet to fall though a gentle wind began to blow heralding the eventuality of a downpour.

On a small hillside quite the distance from the city stood a great view of the destruction, here the rain had already began to fall as a young blond stood vigilant over the events. It had been several months since she set out on a journey without much word to anyone, not even her own mentor knew of her disappearance. "You see what one can do with simple words." A man spoke behind her causing her to tense up slightly though she felt no hostility from the man. "I thought you lost interest in us." She asked without even turning to face the man. "I did though, I lost direct interest but that does not mean I lost interest in the works I already set in motion, but I suspected it would take longer for the machine to lose its mind. Afterall anything that isn't living can be tampered with, I suspect something else may have sent it over the edge instead." He spoke in a rather disrespectful tone as if he knew everything that was happening. "Do you intend to interfere with me?" Spoke the woman as she turned slightly catching a glimpse of the slightly disfigured man... no it was more like several people mixed together in a hideous mix. "I'm afraid not, I can't really do much in this state until it's complete, though I can say you wont be able to touch me if you thought this was an opportunity." The man grinned some sort of portal opened up behind him as if a warning that she wouldn't be able to touch him even if she wanted to. "Though maybe after this is done I could help coax out your true power, the power that supposed goddess never helped you realize." The woman made a full turn and stared into the mans dark soul with piercing blue eyes. "I see, so that is your answer, well I suppose I can wish you luck attempting to save what is already lost." The deformed man said with a wicked grin as he turned a left through the gateway behind him which promptly closed after he had entered. "Tch, traitor." The woman muttered as she turned back to the events in the city as she planned her actions.

Post by Neyvahn Keyvolo 18th July 2016, 10:15 pm

Neyvahn backed against the doorway of the Tavern, resting as his shoulder began to mend again. He hated to do it, but he needed to heal his shoulder if he was going to do anything. "What are you thinking!?" Kei yelled. "That thing's gonna see you, then rip you to shreds!"

Neyvahn closed his eyes and focused on the healing. "Someone has to do something."

"There are already others, stronger mages that are handling the problem right-"

"Then we should do what we can to help them," Neyvahn interrupted. He watched through the door as Izayuki and another mage activated spell after spell to attack the robot. The pure power and force behind each strike made Neyvahn shiver. Maybe Kei was right. His magic was nothing compared to the things the higher mages could throw.

"Brother, listen to me!" Kei begged. "You'll get yourself killed out there! They're Guild Aces, and they're still having a rough time. What do you think that thing will do to you?"

Neyvahn stood there, leaning against the wall. Maybe his brother was right. He'd have to leave it to the stronger mages to take care of the problem. After all, he's nothing more than a weakling compared to the other mages. He couldn't come close to holding his ground against Iza, what chance would he have against that robot? Neyvahn pushed off the wall, taking one last look through the doorway. The Guild Aces deployed what looked like a temporary smoke screen to cover their tracks. Neyvahn looked at where they were going... they were going to a downed mage. The same one that saved his life a few moments before. She wasn't in good shape.

The gears began to turn in his head. There was a wounded mage on the battlefield, and Neyvahn's inability to defend himself caused injury to another. Neyvahn unclipped the front of his coat, dropping it to the ground. "Ney, what are you-" Kei realized what he was doing. "No! Don't you DARE go out there!"
Neyvahn's hand move to his previously injured shoulder. Were it not for Kamille's Shift, his shoulder wouldn't be functional again. It still felt tender, soft because of the punishment it took, but he could move it just fine.

"I'm going out," Neyvahn growled. "Sit there and don't say complain. You wouldn't want me losing my focus now, would you?" Kei tried to think of something to say, but his voice remained silent. He had nothing to say.

    "...fine."

Neyvahn nodded his head in approval, sprinting out into the battlefield. He saw the group of Aces and made a break for them. However, the white robot also spotted him, pointing its weaponry at him. "Veer left! Rubble for cover!" Neyvahn leaped to the side, diving against the pile of rubble as C.A.S.S.I.E. fired a volley of deadly rounds over his head. He was really getting tired of this thing. Once the robot stopped firing, Neyvahn snaked in and out of the rubble to the group. There he saw Iza and two other mages, probably Guild Aces, and one of them was injured. Just as Neyvahn thought. Her right eye was plagued with shards of her magic enhancing bracelet.

Neyvahn turned towards the robot and placed his hands on the ground. "Gadokabe!" The floor of the guildhall rumbled, rising and forming a thick wall of rubble and concrete in between him and the robot. The first time, the thing destroyed his wall within seconds. However, he was hoping an extra dose of magic energy would increase the wall's durability.

Neyvahn turned around and leaned down to the injured mage. She wasn't faring too well. "I'll get her out!" Neyvahn said as he gently picked her up in his arms. "Just take care of that damn robot!" With those few words, Neyvahn fled the battlefield with the mage while his wall was still blocking C.A.S.S.I.E.'s view.

Once he made it passed the doorway, Neyvahn rested the girl against the wall and checked for any major injuries. So far, he could only see the shards embedded around and in her eye. Hopefully she would be okay, but Neyvahn was never good at guesstimating. He stood up and grabbed his coat, watching through the doorway in case he was needed again. "Oh, no you don't!" Kei protested. "If you try to go out there again, I swear to god I will steer you as far away as possible!" Nonetheless, Neyvahn stayed near the doorway, just enough so that he could see what was going on, but not enough for C.A.S.S.I.E. to pick him as a target. His eyes traced the battle as it dragged on.

The explosions, running, screaming, all of it. It faded away in Kiru's mind as her attention had been focused on her magic. Doing what she could to help her wounded guild member. As others around Kiru tried to stop the robot, but none of them seemed to be able to achieve this goal. Not yet anyways. Kiru's palms gave a bright cyan coloured aura, as they shone down on the girl's arm. Weather her magic was working or not, couldn't be determined by the Mage just yet. her eyes were closed, and she slowly breathed calmly. To others, Kiru seemed to have no emotion, no fear. None about the current situation anyways. Even if she couldn't heal her companion fully, she could at least stabilize her until proper medical care could get to her.

That's when a familiar voice called out next to her, and the familiar cold aura was felt along with it. Kiru's eyes opened, and her head turned to see her Yokai friend, Izayuki concerned about the Mage the Ocean Slayer was attempting to heal. Kiru could see the anger in her eyes, and sense it in her voice. Then she asked her a rather sensitive question, given the situation. Kiru simply stared down at the girl that Izayuki had called Irina, and answered flatly. "Given the current situation, I won't be able to heal her fully. I can stabilize her for now, but I don't think she'll be ready to fight off any robots anytime soon..." She said. Giving her perfectly honest opinion. Her tone however had unchanged. A rather odd look of seriousness in her expression.

That's when a new face showed themselves to the two girls. One Kiru had not seen before, but he seemed to be a member of Black Rose. He told Kiru that he could get Irina out, and proceeded to pick her up and begin to evacuate. A brave move to be sure, as another flurry of shots from CASSIE ripped through the air. With that, Kiru looked over to her companion and put simply. "Well then, somoene's got to stall this robot." NOw even though Kiru knew she wouldn't be able to do it on her own, but that of course wasn't the current circumstance. She had Izayuki and probably a number of other mages ready to help. Kiru's cyan coloured gaze shifted to her more violent crimson... ANd from the holes in the roof, it began to rain harder. "Assuming everyone who can still fight is here, we should launch an offensive immideatly. And don't you dare tell me I need to evacuate..." Kiru gave a small smirk to her Tanuki friend, before white balls of water began to manifest around her palm...

Post by Jiyu Kazehime 22nd July 2016, 10:50 am

Jiyu had started off her day very deeply asleep, which was considerably going to become a rare thing, since she had been kidnapped and held prisoner by strangers for almost two full years, the last time she tried to fall asleep watching the sunset. One second? She'd been looking at fading light, wondering with a jokingly morbid attitude if it would come back the neck day, as in joking the world would end that night, in those beautiful colors! The mage had never actually suspected until she felt her breath faltering and a strong hand around her neck, her vision being forced to darkness, that she wouldn't see light for around two years. However all that had actually happened, she'd been bound and shackled like an animal and tormented with fire for almost two full years, and nothing could take that back. No matter how much she didn't want to be traumatized by it? The lights remained on in her room, even while she slept, so she'd know the difference in where she was when she awoke, that all she had to open her eyes and she'd be out of the yellow tinted darkness  that the hell she'd endured was over.

The explosion didn't even register for the weary mage, she was hungry and really wanted food. Actually? She was always hungry at the moment. Before being taken? The girl had been short and light only weighing 112 pounds at 5''3, almost malnourished. During her captivity, since she always tried to refuse the little food they did give her? Kazehime had dropped below a hundred pounds, you could clearly see thing like her ribs framing the guild mark on her stomach, and her wrists jutted painfully from their places as she used her hand to support herself against the wall as she made her way downstairs. In the morning? It was always harder for her to get around, the pain returning until she broke it by refusing to obey her own body.

When she finally ambled around the corner, leaning against the wall with one hand on it, hip swayed to just touch it, playful smirk on her pale pink mouth? Jiyu noticed the destruction and her eyes went wide, hands's moving out in front of her right next to each other, until she moved them to make a circle, touching them again at the bottom of it, and raising the magic circle that had formed above her head. "Wind Howl." she felt the magic sapped from her as soon as she cast it, while her magic itself was only down to a healthy 90% right now? Her body wasn't strong enough to deal with casting her spells. Too bad she wasn't affected by that buff herself.

Kazehime simply braced her weak body against the wall, panting. Could she even help attack that thing? Well she wasn't retreating that wasn't her, she'd just have to be very careful, especially since one of her best attacks for the moment could hit her allies too if she tried it. "I don't know how much damage I can do, but if we're fighting, I'm fighting."

"Ya know Cassie...I never did like you." Magna said emerging from some rubble with a slightly dazed look on his face. In the initial attack he'd been sent flying through a wall and had unfortunately hit his head knocking him out cold, but now he was up and ready to fight. His eyes were glowing red with ferocity and his face had split into three. Two more pairs of arms formed at his side. He was in full Asura mode now and it was clear from his facial expression he was far from happy. "But killing all these people you were built to protect? That's put you on a very short list. Things I want to kill that aren't food." The machine's gaze swept over to him and it raised its railgun aiming directly at him. He ran forward towards the machine. He needed to get in close. That would not only put the railgun out of use, but allow his first attack to go ahead. An attack that should render that railgun completely useless. He leapt upwards using the gloves attached to his original arms to send out a kinetic blast to send him flying further upwards. This was to dodge a blast from the rail gun, but also to get him closer. He actually landed atop the gun briefly before backflipping off and snapping his fingers.

This finger snapping caused a large bottle of oil to form above cassie that soon coated her in the liquid. This was an attack Magna had specifically designed to disarm opponents. It made them slippery and as such caused them to drop their weapons. Of course that didn't happen immediately with Cassie. Her grip was far too strong which was why as he landed he thrust both arms up and sent a concussive blast into it knocking it from her grasp. He hadn't worked much with Cassie, or at all really, but he was hoping the loss of her weapon would at least give him a few seconds. What he hadn't counted on though was how fast the machine's processor was. As soon as the gun was knocked from its grasp it swung its arm forming a powerful phase blade that would of sliced him in two had he not extended his own energy blades from the gloves and used his ant-like strength to push the blade to one side.

That allowed him to get in close and it was time for his first real attack, which would be greatly aided by the grease. A spell fusion combining his two most powerful fire spells: Blow Torch and Cooking Flame High. "Cooking Flame: Overdone." he said launching a powerful ball of fire that hit the machine and ignited the oil. This would increase the damage done by the oil. Whats more the area of effect of the spell would scorch the gun heavily damaging it as well. "Now that i've got your attention. Time to cool off. Frozen Knife." With that he hurled a blade of ice that formed out of nowhere straight at cassie. This was a key combination of Magna. He would super heat an opponent using fire spells then rapidly cool them. It generally had devastating effects and he was hoping it would here as well. As expected it did, but it hadn't stopped Cassie. In fact, it seemed to have broken off a ton of armor, but where the armor remained it looked stronger. He should of remembered that supercooling heated metal, or quenching, hardened metals. Still, he had a few seconds whilst she calculated from the damage or so he hoped. He ran in at high speed and much to his surprise got a huge fist swung at him. He was quick enough to catch it, but still the damage was done. He could feel the three arms he used breaking under the strain. He thrust one of the others forward blasting her for just a second to distract her and then ran up to one of her feet. "I hope you like heights." With that he grabbed her by the foot and lifted her seemingly with ease and tossed her high in the air.

"Give her everything you've got." he said his demonic visage fading away as he clutched one of his arms. It would take him a few minutes before he was ready to cast another spell so he leaped backwards using his gloves to propel him and landed near the bar where he had emerged. He'd done what he could to give them an opening. There were literal openings in her armor and gravity should cause her some extra damage. Still the impact from the blow had left him pretty beat up.

It was then that he was suddenly blasted through the walls by several missles that hit the ground and him. It seemed Cassie had another weapon up her sleeve and had used it to her advantage sending him flying and doing heavy damage. He sat in the debris and a smirk came to his face. "You really do know how to piss a guy off." he murmured, but he couldn't get up just yet. His body had been heavily battered by the missles and his arm was pretty much broken. He was covered in brusies and cuts. The problem for Cassie was that even if every other mage had retreated Magna was not alone. He never was.

At the moment he had landed in the rubble the knife he kept at his waist began glowing and then vanished. In its place stood a man in armor wielding a large golden axe. There was no obvious facial expression, but it was clear he was pissed somehow. "Nice to see you Aegis." Magna joked. "Mind holding off the scary robot whilst I pull myself together?"

Aether was within the public library of the port town when it happened, searching through the countless books that he had already read dozens of times over in search of new knowledge. It had been a few months since he had come back to BR after being incinerated by the Wyvern that plagued the lacrima fields, a skeleton of his former self that had been twisted and transformed to take the shape of that of a demon with his new magic as he absorbed the Bone Demon God Slayer lacrima into his skeletal system, triggering its other form upon absorption, turning him into a Demon Slayer. He had slayed the creature at the cost of his best friend and in doing so obtained a new level of power which he had to get used to. The tendrils became useless after the encounter, only holding enough power to slay the beast before they eventually gave way and lost their abilities as with no flesh to anchor themselves they could not weave space to the hosts will, they retained their durability however, and with that Aether created his suit and robe, using the same technique he had when fusing with the Bone Demon God Slayer lacrima on a lacrima that had been placed into his possession not that long after he had returned to the guild, infusing it into the clothing so that he may use its powers without contradicting the balance within his new form.

Reaching a branch of books that he had yet to indulge himself in Aether heard a thundering boom from outside, tearing his attention away from the untouched knowledge and towards the source of the noise, the guild hall of Black Rose. If he had a heart, it would’ve sunk in his chest at the realization of what was happening at the guild. They were being attacked, he didn’t know what was attacking them but he had to get there and as fast as he could. Bursting out the door Aether began running full sprint with the cloth that covered his face, hiding his skeletal form to the world flapping in the wind as he focused his vision to that of the guild, gaining a birds-eye-view of the battle happening there as his body instinctively moved straight towards them, citizens running in the opposite direction but getting out of his way when they noticed he was running towards the hall. What Aether saw as he was running was chaos, the mechanical guardian of their guild turned the weapons it was given to protect the people of its country now turned sights on the citizens and members of black rose, bodies and limbs laid unmoving on the ground as a few members tried to protect what they could from the sudden aggression. Izayuki, the one who had almost killed a fellow guild member and witnessed his death and revival, was fighting against C.A.S.S.I.E. in an effort to slow her down, neutralizing a few of the missiles and other deadly weapons pointed a her for a short duration before Magna jumped in to assist.

He was close enough to the guild at this point to jump in and assist with what he could, focusing on the shadow beside Magna and letting his mana flow into his suit as he appeared in the shadow within his vision, returning to his own set of eyes shortly afterwards and crouching down beside him, placing a gloved hand on his companions chest and could sense the broken bones within his body. “Bone Demon’s Acceptance” he said, letting his mana flow through his palm and into the bones of his ally, pulling them back together and repairing them in almost an instant as well as giving him some extra vigour to help him come back to the fight a bit faster. “All patched up.” He spoke in a hushed tone as he stood up, the shadow that formed from the rubble began to head towards him as though it was being pulled in, two dim white lights appearing on the back of his robe around his shoulder area as the shadow suddenly cut itself off, being consumed by his clothing and rejuvenating his mana before the lights fade out. Taking a look at all those who were still standing Aether opened his mind and let the voice of his mind cast itself into those he could see, a small 2D chibified version of his skeletal form appearing in their vision from a puff of smoke-like shadow.

All those who cannot fight should evacuate, assist any citizens you can. Those who know they cannot do much damage must assist in the evacuation, protect the citizens and our guildmates. We will not lose any more of our comrades. It wasn’t a very fulfilling speech, but he hoped he got his message across that there were citizens among them, and that evacuating them should be the top priority of those who cannot match the strength of the guilds guardian. “Bone Demon’s Harrow Knight.” Aether said, throwing a bone to the ground as it began to rapidly expand and form a skeleton, becoming encased in a thick layer of bone that took the shape of elegant armor, a shield and large sword within its hands. “For what am I needed for, my lord?” the knight asked, taking in its surroundings and the large hole in the roof where Cassie had been flung upwards only moments ago. “Protect the people.” Aether replied, sliding a hand into the sleeve of his robe before pulling out a knife, followed by a few hundred more, taking a bite out of the knife he was wielding as the remainder floated around him, the knife in his hand turning a pure white before suddenly being sucked into his mouth, helping him regenerate his mana by a small amount. “Do not allow any more blood to be spilled.”

The longer the robot stayed there, the worse the outcome. C.A.S.S.I.E. had managed to fire missiles, spray bullets, toss bombs, and shoot rockets at many different members of the Black Rose guild. The three-faced man did dealt quite a bit of damage towards the robot, and the skeleton, wind-user, and water-user appeared to be poised to fight. The tanuki had attempted to slow down and freeze the robot, but not to much avail.

What really was going on? It was a mystery to all, but the robot was not ready to back off. Its creator was not there to control it, and with its systems malfunctioning and going berserk, even the robot herself had little time left. Final attacks were being sent in, but C.A.S.S.I.E. failed to react any longer. The robot appeared to tremble a little, with its movement finally growing to a full-fledged shakiness. It did this for several moments, before it stopped altogether. One would have assumed that the white mech had finally bit the dust, and completely short-circuited. That was not the case, however, as the Black Rose guild would find several seconds later.

    “EVERYONE, GET OUT, NOW!!”

Within the time it took for a human heart to skip a beat, flames and heat suddenly lapped at the atmosphere and the surrounding. C.A.S.S.I.E. had exploded.

The explosion sent shrapnel, debris, heat, and intense flames out from it, likely mixed with a bit of magic and electricity from the robot herself. The mostly-wooden guildhall was suddenly ablaze, despite the heavy rain of the tropics, as the structure that they called their base and home was quickly being eaten alive by the fires.

Izayuki had first gone for Jiyu, grabbing onto the girl and moving at extreme speeds. She could not leap for everyone, but the small girl was in range, and the Ace of Stigma had faith in her guildmates. They would not allow a petty self-destruction of a mechanical beast to kill them. Black Rose was stronger than the traitorous robot had predicted; they would survive. Even if it meant rebuilding from the very bottom, they would pull themselves back together and rise back up. Black Rose would bloom again.
