Personality: Although he is very laid-back and lazy, Ignatius knows when to be serious. He usually becomes serious when his friends are in danger. He is very focused, and is not easily distracted. He is very talented at music, and he hangs out at concert halls a lot when he is not busy. During his time at the local concert hall, he has gained many friends, musicians and audience alike, due to his careful choice of words and good looks. He also enjoys learning, as he believes intellect will help a person get out of any situation. But, due to his laziness, many people consider him dumb when he is indeed very smart. He also socializes quite a lot.
Ignatius also has a greedy side, as he wants to live a better lifestyle. He currently lives in a small apartment with only enough money to buy him bread. He wants to join a guild for this very reason. He does not like the idea of any sort of revenge, as he believes this will result in bad karma. Though he doesn't like revenge, he is easily provoked to fight by other people. He is very spiritual, and at one point in his life considered to be a priest.
He was born to a very poor family, raised on a farm. Ignatius never had a sense of leadership until the dragon came. This man, who planned to destroy the whole village, spared only one person: Ignatius. From then on, the man raised Ignatius as his own, teaching him how to write, read, and use magic. This is when Ignatius started to gain leadership skills, and eventually became a captain in the royal army. During his time as captain of the Royal Army, his adoptive father, Tazen, left him for unknown reasons. Later, he decided work in the Royal Army was just way too boring and dull. He quit and traveled across the country looking for excitement. One day, he met Tazen once again, but he grew so much that the man did not recognize him. Instead, Ignatius was attacked by Tazen and he got a huge scar on his back (Ignatius, that is). He eventually escaped, but from then on he became very cautious and aware of other people's actions.
Due to his experience in leadership, people tend to trust him, though he tells them to not. He never has a strategy in battle, and is often reckless. He has great skill in his magic and sword, which helps him win fights. He takes every fight seriously, thinking about the time he fought with Tazen and let down his guard. But, when he is a follower, he tends to lay back and let the leader do everything, making him some enemies. This does not bother him though.
Through his leadership skills and talent, he is able to catch the attention of many guilds. He enjoys all the attention, making him an extrovert. His goal is clear: be a leader, and not only be a great wizard, but be a well-liked and well-respected one.
Likes:
- Food: He has had a huge appetite ever since he was little. His father used to tell him that he could eat a years worth of food made on the farm. Also, eating food reminds him of his father.
- Books: He believes any wizard should be intellectual, and so he fell in love with books. Thus, he is very smart and knows many things about magic and other things including architecture and mathematics.
- Birds: He was always fascinated about things that could fly, and he developed a liking to birds. Ignatius thinks birds are distant relatives of dragons, making him think birds are very magical animals.
Dislikes:
- Betrayals: He hates betrayals, after his brother decided to try kill him. He believes this is the end of a friendship, and he values friendship very much. Just thinking about betrayal makes him very angry.
- Actors: He hates acting because it is fake. He believes those that act happy on-stage but are truly not are weak. This dislike began when he was very young when his uncle, who he looked up to, told him to never use magic. Later, he found out that his uncle used magic everyday, and only told Ignatius to not use magic so that he (his uncle) could be the strongest wizard in the family.
- Magic Council: Although he belongs to a Legal Guild, his hatred for the Magic Council has always been there in his heart. His hatred started when knights of the Magic Council went to his town and forced all the villagers to give them all their money, using their power to scare the villagers. That year, the entire village suffered and they could not buy anything. Due to this, the crops failed that year and many people died.
Motivations:
- Learning: Due to his belief that a wizard must have equal amounts of brawn and intellect, learning has always taken a big role in his life.
-Protecting his guild: Because Fairy Tail took him in and treated him like family, Ignatius feels he should repay them by protecting them. He feels that family is really important and he is willing to risk everything to protect it.
- Creating great music: Music had always been a huge part of his life, ever since he was 3. He did not have any sort of toy while he was growing up, and music was the one thing he loved but didn’t need any objects for. He would sing all day long, waking up early just to sing.
Fears:
- Death of his friends: His friends helped Ignatius who he is, and not the cold-hearted person he was. The death of his friends would make him very upset, and he cannot even bear to think about it.
- Silence: To not hear anything means to not hear music. Ignatius can’t think what the world would do without music. He knows he would suffer if music was taken away from him.
- Lightning: Due to his earth magic, he is scared of lightning and its effects on his magic. Also, lightning reminds him of the night his parents died, because on that day there was a lot of lightning.
