Michael Edward Lancelot was Taking a stroll through the capital city of Fiore, Crocus, after completing his final assignment as a member of the Combat Corps. Due to the fact that he already filed his report for the assignment and didn't need to show up for Spec Ops Corps training for another week, he decided to kill some time in the capital of his country. He also had quite a bit to mull over after the things he heard in that cave, the revelations he made. Truthfully, he had heard most of it already, but only in the form of rumors. He had never payed such gossip any mind, so it hadn't bothered him up till now. Still, he had decided in that cave that he wouldn't let those claims, true or not, dissuade him from his path. If the Rune Knights truly had deteriorated from there former glory, then Michael would simply have to strive to reclaim there true roles in the magical world.

As he was thinking about this, young Lancelot noticed that their seemed to be a crowd forming in a nearby block, drawing his attention. Half curious and half concerned, Michael walked to the area where all the noise was coming from, trying to figure out the cause of all the commotion.

"You see that guy?" One bystander asked. "Yeah, he's got a bomb strapped to him." Now the recruit was truly worried, deciding to push his way through crowd and towards the guards that were holding back the crowd, intent that on getting to the bottom of the situation.

"Michael Lancelot, I'm with the Rune Knights." He said to the captain at the scene, showing his badge for verification. "What's going on here? What's this about a bomb?" The older man looked to the knight with relief in his eyes, happy to see someone official he could push this hectic situation off on.

"Oh, great timing," The captain said, taking Michael aside. "The situation couldn't be worse. Apparently, this guy in there just got fired from his job shooting photos for those kitten calendars everyone seems to love these days and he went ballistic over it, strapped enough explosive lacrima to his chest to level Mercurius." Young Lancelot blinked a few times, not sure if he heard that right.

"I'm sorry...could you repeat that please?" He asked, concluding that he absolutely had to have heard that wrong. "Good sir...did you just say that he strapped a bomb to himself...over a calendar...with kittens in it?" The captain merely nodded in response, most likely just as baffled when he was informed about it himself. Michael then put a hand to his face, not sure if he could process such a ridiculous situation. Just then, a woman's scream could be heard from within the building next to them, followed by glass shattering.
