    Mission: Here.

    The first job of many for Jaeger were to take place today.  On an island far, far away from the guild headquarters. This newly made Sleeping Forest mage was to participate in a request that would take place near a city called Clover. A city that in habits a lake that it was named after. From what he has heard, they even had their own Guild based their and this issue wasn't taken care of. Apparently the city has been having trouble with a couple creatures that are terrorizing their trains and tracks.

    It was a shame that no one from Clovers guild could take care of it, but a Two manned group of mages took on the job request. It would be Jaeger and a female mage, someone he hadn't really introduced himself too. It'll be interesting to meet another member of his guild and see how well they can work together. However, the first meeting would happen at an area close to the tracks close to clover. The young man had left a note for his female companion that he was heading there early to take in some of the surroundings before meeting up with her and starting the missions.

    So the male mage made his way, by boat, to the main land and hopped a train to Oshibana station. From there, due to the trouble on the tracks to clover, he walked along the clear tracks in the direction of the island. As he traveled, he kept an eye out for anything that would peek his interest. The land formations and everything was so pleasant sight to see. Though most of the area the tracks go through are barren, craggy mountains, it was so peaceful.

    Eventually, Jaeger got to the island that Clover resides. The young adult decided to make that his waiting place and sat away from the railway. His possible wait was about to begin.

    Red wisps of hair flew as a speeding train passed by Ringo. The thorn mage had been walking  near the train tracks for over an hour now. She had intended to wake up early so she and her partner could get a heads start on the job that they were going to take, but apparently her would be partner was an even earlier bird than she was. When she got to the guild's lobby, the guild's helper handed her a note, she said it came from Jaeger. It was the first time that she would be working with him, actually it would be the first time she would be meeting him personally. She had seen him already but not face to face, just fleeting glimpse of his side and backside. She was fairly new to the guild herself so aside from their master and Devon, she knew no one else.

    I wonder what kind of person this Jaeger was, what kind of magic he posses, and most importantly, what is his star sign.

    She was unaware that she had said that out loud, she was also unaware that she had already arrived at her destination and that her partner was sitting just a few meter off the side of the tracks.

    The day was rather nice to be out and about doing a job. The sun was out, the scenery was just magnificent, and there was just the gentlest of breezes that was sputtering about. Truly, the day was perfect... well for Jaeger. The people of Clover and possible surrounding cities might be annoyed and having a terrible day.

    "A Truuuuuely bad day for Clover. Such Naughty Goblins and Vulcans."

    The young man said with a smirk and chuckle. Just like his style, even in the face of 'danger' he can keep his cool and make light of the situation. That is just the kind of mage he was. However, his fun laughter was a bit interrupted as the Great Tree mage could hear a woman's voice. Her hair was vibrantly red and she hadn't seemed to notice him. It seemed it would be time, no other real reason to be all the way here, on foot, and on the outskirts of the island. Jaeger promptly got up, dusted himself off and made his way over to assumed partner.


    "Hello Mademoiselle, Are you Ringo Noyamano of Sleeping Forest?"

    He asked, trying to be polite for the moment. Would be a shame if he were to make a bad impression on their first face to face meeting.

    Ringo looked at the man that just approached her.  He was tall, well build body frame, had brown hair and seems like a gentleman. Ringo smiled at the man before she made her reply.

    Yes, Yes I am Ringo Noyamano from Sleeping forest, and you must be my partner Jaeger Nekros.

    She stretched out her hand to him for a hand shake then said.

    Nice to meet you. Im actually just a new recruit of the guild so im quite happy to be working with you.

    The man had a firm grip on her hand, his hands were a bit calloused but that was to be expected, it was quite rough and pleasant at the same time. She was the first to break free from the hand shake.

    So this is the place that was mentioned in the job flier?

    She surveyed her surroundings, not too far from the tracks were fields of tall grasses and behind it was the edge of the woods. The tracks was too far from the woods, and normally vulcans are dim witted creatures. She was curious as how they were able to come up with ideas on how to disrupt the operations on railways.

    She turned her gaze back to her partner and asked. So do you have any plan on how to get those pesky beasts?

    It was indeed his partner in crime! The Little to the Chicken, the Fuel to the Lighter! The two were finally in one place and couple discuss the job like normal human beings. But first, she did do a little introduction of herself and she answered his question. It seems like he wasn't the only new addition to the crew. How fortunate they were, two newbie's learning the way of the guild together.

    After her introduction, Ringo had extended her hand out for an exchange of pleasantries. A hand shake, a general way of saying hello to someone you just meet. There was only one thing that could be done on this occasion and that was to shake the woman's hand. His hands were a bit callused and hard, but he did work with wood for a living, sort of. He also had a hand cannon that could probably work his hands decently when being used.

    "A pleasure to meet you. Yes, this is the place, kind of. I think the place where the creatures are a bit further in land."

    He had to think about the situation a bit. From what he was told, these beings, the vulcan and goblin, tend to stay in forests. The complaints are towards an area where no forest. How would they handle dealing with them? If he could get the jump on them, he could simply capture one of them with a tree and root combination.

    "Well... We'll need to Distract them? Can try to catch them off guard somehow. Then I can capture at least one with my Magic. And the tree itself I can probably deal with one way or another, though it may damage the rails."

    Ringo's curiosity was piqued at the mention of magic and tree in the same sentence. Come to think of it, she had no clue as to what her partner's magic was, and neither did he knew hers. She was about to ask him what his magic was when she thought she saw something move within the grass. It was brief but she swore she saw something make its way towards the huge boulder in the midst of the shoulder high grass.

    Hey I think someone of something is watching us from the sea of grass.

    Her partner was about to look at the general direction that she was looking but she stopped him.

    No don't look. she said in a hushed voice. I think it didn't notice me see it when it made its way over to the huge rock.

    What she did next was a bit unexpected, she came to his side and slid her arms around his waist. She then guided him in a position where he faced the direction where she thought she saw the creature that was watching them, then she leaned in closer and whispered.

    Do you see it, the dark shadow near the huge boulder.

    The woman seemed to be intrigued by something. Her attention went towards a rock and Jaeger was promptly notified off the disturbance. However, she didn't want him to look but as soon as someone says 'don't look' you have an immediate reaction to look at what it was. How could he not try and look at it? You can't just peek someone's interest like that then tell them no, Ringo was being such a tease.

    "What do you mean don't lo...."

    Jaeger was going to reply until Ringo, the teaser, spun them around so to look like a couple or something. He was now facing the rock she mentioned. The mage did see a show of sorts, but it could simply be a bush that was dislodged from the ground. It was hard to see really, but there was one way to determine if it was a living being or not. The mage closed his eyes and used his magic to feel through the planet. Being able to discern natures magic, it quickly ruled out it being a bush or something of the like however, there was defiantly something there.

    "Well.. I can defiantly sense something capable of at least minor magical abilities. This far out, it's likely to be one of the creatures we're after."

    Jaeger was still getting to know this guildmate, so while they were in so close, it might be a good time as any to ask her a few questions as they also talk about the possibility behind the rock.

    "So... what kind of Magic do you use?"

    Hmm...something smells nice.

    Ringo looked at the man standing close beside her and realized that the scent she was taking in was coming Jaeger. It was odd that she found the smell familiar, its like reminiscent of a dream. Was it possible that she had met him before and she just doesn't remember. She was in that position when the man suddenly spoke, causing the young lady to avert her eyes from him so that it would not look like that she was staring at him.

    So... what kind of Magic do you use?

    My magic is called Curse of Thorns. It basically allows me to summon thorn filled vines and tendrils from the earth or from my body. I can also to some extent summon plants and trees and manipulate them which ever way I like.

    Unknown to the man beside her, Ringo left out crucial information, like the fact that the curse of thorns is an actual curse place on her. She was just an ordinary mercenary before but a chance meeting with a demon ended with her contracting an ancient curse that turned her into  a creature that was neither human nor demon. She also failed to mention that casting a spell from her arsenal of spells would chip away a chunk of her health. She just did not want the people around her to pity her.

    What about you, whats you're magic?

    Interesting. Someone from the same guild having a related magic to his own. Of course, her jurisdiction seemed more over vines and thorns, but nevertheless, they shared a common magical bond. As he was a Tree mage... and a planet mage, and sometimes a heat mage. His magic was pretty powerful, though it has its own draw backs. After she answered his, it was his turn to share. How should he describe it? Should he just come out and say it? Probably. It was just them two and possibly one of the creatures they were to hunt.

    "Well, I would say It's similar to yours. It is called 'Great Tree Arc'. I can summon and control trees or manipulate  already existing ones. Though, that's not the only thing my magic allows for. I can also manipulate heat to the point of causing vapor to explode or manipulate the magic within the planet itself

    .....

    Pretty Nifty, huh?"

    The young man answered. Jaeger then looked over to that rock again and decided to take action. It would be better to get  the drop on whatever it was back there before it decided to do the same. The mage applied his magic with a wave of his hand, quickly summoning a tree just on the other side of the boulder. He then used another spell in conjunction and manipulated a root to move and capture whatever it was behind the rock.

    Luckily, it worked! The lifted up and showed a weak creature.

    "We were being spied on by a Goblin, probably the one we're supposed to deal with. The Vulcan doesn't seem to be anywhere in the immediate area. How should we deal with this little fella?"

    Jaeger asked the beautiful woman that he was still in a somewhat embrace with. The goblin wasn't going to be an issue, especially since it was just one and pretty tiny. The pink squirrel like things life was now in the balance.

    What are the odds of her teaming up with another plant magic user, thought it was quite rather obvious that his magic technique was rather superior than hers. He didnt show any sign of pain when he used his magic. She was still in the midst of listening to her partners explanations when suddenly he used his magic out of nowhere.

    "Nice!"

    Ringo was impressed with the guys manipulation of his magic, the precision and careful handling of the snatched goblin. If it was her, the goblin would have been ground meat by now. She ogled the little critter as it squirmed, trying to break free from the clutches of the tree roots.

    "How should we deal with this little fella?"

    Ringo thought for a moment, what should they do with the little bugger. They could get rid of it but that wont stop the attacks on the railways. Then she remembered what her partner just mentioned a while ago and it gave her an idea.

    "You were able to sense its presence right? Its just a hunch but if it was really spying on us then it has to report back to its comrades right? So what if we let it loose and follow it back to the others?"

    To allow the Goblin to escape and possibly lead us back to its partner in crime, the Vulcan. It was a sound plan and likely to work. The little fella probably wouldn't know what to do otherwise and would see a stronger ally to hide behind. Jaeger agreed to this plan and slowly released the pink critter from the grasps of the tree. Once fully released, the cute goblin made its move to run off further inland. The chase has begun.

    "Well, Ringo, it seems the chase is on. We had better follow or we'll lose him. Though, I can't imagine the Vulcan being too far away. We are on an island after all."

    The Great Tree Mage said and began jogging after the goblin. The pink critter was quite quick so the mage would need to run faster at some point so he wouldn't lose his target.

    The Goblin ran for a nearby forest that the rail road had gone through. The forest itself was at least 20 to 35 yards away from the tracks, but it was still close enough for a vulcan and other creatures to pray on the train system. The vulcan was likely to be here, hiding and/or waiting for another train to attempt to cross the tracks.

    The duo cautiously tailed the goblin back to a spot where the tracks had cut through the forest. For some reason, Ringo felt anger for the towns people for defiling the forest just so they can build the railway. Yes it was the fastest route but that wasn't the only possible route. Perhaps this was the main reason those vulcans kept terrorizing the  railway system.

    She was in the midst of contemplation when the little critter made a dash towards a nearby thicket. By the time she or her partner had noticed it, the creature was already gone from their site. The duo rushed to the spot where the goblin was last seen, but as soon as they did, two shadowy figures came out of nowhere and launched a surprise attack on them, separating her from her partner momentarily.  

    Ringo looked at her arm, the rosy white skin had turned to a purple hue, the beast's attack had grazed her and Ringo was not to happy about it.
    "And here I was trying to sympathize with you guys."

    She made a soft sigh.

    "Red threads of fate!"

    There was a soft flash of light as a crimson red string shot it way towards the vulcan, swerving along as the vulcan tried to avoid it but to no avail. The crimson thread coiled itself around its brutish arm.

    "Checkmate!"

    It was a tough chase and eventually, they did lose track of the little pink Goblin. The woods were a pretty nice place. Trees as tall as large buildings, leaves as green as ever, and small woodland animals skewered the landscape. However ,the view soon be blocked by a large, shadowy figure. This figure wa quick to attack and landed a small blow to his beautiful partner, Ringo.

    "Oh, the fun is starting already."

    He muttered to himself and slowly pulled out his Trinity revolver. As he spun the ammo chamber and held it out right, aiming at the Vulcan that had appeared, Ringo counter attacked. Red thread tendrils shot out from her magic circle and quickly went at the Gorilla based beast. It was a success. The Vulcan was now caught, or at the very least, stuck to Ringo for a period of time. It was the perfect chance for him to shoot the creature.

    Taking aim with his revolver, Jaeger quickly shot three times with the Trinity's Poisoned Soul ammo. Three quick bullets soar through the air, leaving 3 trails of green mist. The first of the shots landed a direct hit on the Vulcans chest. The second bullet whizzed by the beasts knee, missing him entirely. The last of his shots landed again, dealing more damage.

    The vulcan fell from the damage of his Legendary Trinity Revolver. The shots were too much for the ape. the only issues now would be to fight the wee goblin and remove the tree from the tracks.
    Note: Akryn said the vulcan would take 2 D-rank damages to defeat and the goblin 1. So the vulcan is defeated now.

    Shots rang out, then a few seconds later, the vulcan that was caught by her red threads dropped dead to the ground. The same fate was met by the other vulcan, for shortly after, another set of shots were fired and it too dropped cold to the ground. In one fell swoop, the marauding monsters who were suppose to ambush them fell victim to her partner and his impressive gun.

    "Impressive indeed...long and shiny" the red haired mage thought to herself.  She was still busy admiring her partner's gun when her attention was caught by the rustling of leaves in a nearby bush. She dismissed it at first, but the second time that she heard the movement within the dense vegetation, she started to have her doubts.She had a felling that something was watching them from within the bush. It could be the little goblin that had lead them to that trap. She assessed the distance between her and the bush, it was well within her weapon's range.

    She casually walked closer to the bush to inspect it, but as soon as she did, the creature lurking within started to make a crazy dash away from her. "Red threads of Fate!" The thorn mage commanded her weapon to wrangle the little goblin, but the little creature was just fast and her attempt to capture the creature was foiled. Who knew the cute little bugger was a speed demon.

    She turned to her partner and said "Sorry, I missed."
