Buster's Story & Relationships

The story of Buster, which isn't even his real name, is a gruesome one. You see Buster came from a mother who was a musician whose specialty was the electric guitar while his father was a deadbeat who he never actually knew. Buster loved his mother, even while they lived in poverty and couldn't get ends to meet thanks to the debts piled by his father. His father had built a massive debt over gambling money away, destroying whatever pride he had by placing up his family as one of the pieces, as well as his own life should the debt not be cleared.

That debt wasn't cleared, his father was killed, and his mother was killed after some rough action. He was pretty pissed, yet showed some traits of talent in fighting which he learned from his father who was once a highly skilled fighter in his own rite and fell on hard times after being a washed up boxer, which is what his mother was enticed by in the first. Well now they made the now named "Buster" a slave, even giving him a collar. He learned how to fight, how to use High Speed Magic, and what servitude was truly like after being broken by his master. He was known as the "Dog" of that particular family and did what broken dogs did, was obedient to even the slightest snap of fingers. It was during this time he gained his first scar on his face.

Well years piled up, and Buster who was once a child as everyone had been, became a teenager and developed a curiosity for the world around him. But that wasn't happening with his master, so he decided to place him in a cage and to only be released when needed. Well one of the days he was needed, after a huge fight, an explosion happened which had battered his body to the point of unconsciousness. He was placed in a hospital by a thirty year old woman, who was more stern and could be mean sometimes but treated him far better than his master ever did. That feeling that he had about his master was wavering, but just as a dog would, he kept is loyalty and wished to go to him a soon as he was healed.

After getting to know the woman more, he learned of her name which was "Jessica". He told her about what happened to him, showing a side of himself that he never knew that he had. Jessica said that it sounded like a cruel nightmare, deciding that he should come with her. He did so, loved every moment of it, but felt as though going with his master was the right thing for him to do. in doing so, leaving her in tears after an argument that went bad. What waited for him was a beating for not coming sooner, as well as being mistreated even more brutishly as well as almost starving to death as a punishment. He instantly regretted his decision and wished to leave due to the pain of both his body and hunger. This was the time he gained his second scar on his face.

After a few weeks, Jessica had stealthily appeared in to the base of operations while his master was gone. The girl was smart, instead of wallowing in her own tears over the boys stupidity she followed him so that she could watch how the master had left during the same day they had the argument. She found the key, he was let out, and they were about to leave until he stopped and thought about the situation. He decided to get rid of his collar after thinking back that it was the reason he wished to stay in the first place, but couldn't because of a magic spell that could only be placed off by another person. She liberated him of his collar and instead as they were leaving gave him the scarf he now wears daily.

It didn't last long though because as soon as they'd left thanks to another element of the collar that warned of such a thing happening, Jessica and Buster had been attacked while escaping. The only reason why the collar didn't have a certain spell or aparatus that had done more to the slave in question because the master felt that it would be a waste when all he would need to do was break him again. Anyway, Buster fought for her, and after a long and rigorous battle had beaten them to a pulp with his dangerous and skillful use of his martial arts and speed, but that didn't last long as Jessica was ultimately shot and killed by Bullet Magic from his master himself, which made Buster surge into a rage and kill him. Due to the situation itself, Buster wasn't charged with his death after being found in the peace keepers and he buried Jessica soon after.

Visiting her grave, he cried for her wishing that he knew her sooner and that they hadn't fought before. It was a short meeting between the two but it was a bittersweet sensation that led him to wanting to do more with his life. He set out after that day, and two years later wound up at Sabertooth after traveling for a bit wishing to become a Mage. His next big undertaking.

[font=Georgia]So I wasn't able to save her. All this time I was trying so hard to be with them, and yet the one light that shone upon me, had to be given into the darkness. I still remembered it clearly, that memory which would never escape me as my right hand clutched across my face, sliding through my hair, I felt the twitch of a strand, and sighed. What was I truly here for.

I didn't know how to say goodbye, having never done so before. As I watched the shining marble of stone, as the people left I could only stare quietly. What was I supposed to do here, I was taught never to cry, never to show weakness to your enemies. But she wasn't an enemy, she was a friend, the closest friend I had ever gotten yet she was gone so quickly. What did i know about her but her name, what was there to say I pondered namelessly grasping for straws in my mind as if I would come to a solution. For certain, all I could say was this.

"I don't know where you went, but I know what to do now..."

My voice was soft, my speech was rough. What could you blame a guy who had been a slave for a violent master who treated him as a dog? I didn't think so.

"You were good to me, I was happy these few months, with you... Jessica."

A slight breaking of my fluid vernacular as I felt them come out. The things I wished to say. What I wanted her to know that was so close to me, I clutched my white t-shirt struggling with the words overcame by a feeling I'd never had since the death of my mother. A sadness that welled as if a geyser that blasted into the realms of the sky.

"I won't waste it! I can't waste it! I-I'll do enough living for you and me!"

An exclamation, a passionate yell through the sky as I clenched my fists at their sides and with a twist of my right arm punching myself straight in the face with that fist, the stinging pain overcame me. Once more I did it again, smashing myself in the face even more. It hurt. But that was why, I wanted it to hurt. To remember this vow!

"I promise you, that I will become a great fighter... and.. and...!"

And if those words could be placed into an endless sea of time, never to erode to the effects of time itself. I would place them, they were my memories. This was my creed to the world itself.

"When I see you again! I'll show you all the things I learned, tell you all the things I saw, like you wanted, like you wished..."

I fell silent as the tears streamed more, the sniffles as I rubbed my left hand into my eyes, wiping away my tears with my fingertips slowly as I smiled. A slight blush in my cheeks.

"You'll see, that I won't fail..."

And that, was when my life, one that everyone else saw as fleeting and easily gone. Truly began.
