I feel as though I am cheating, cause Seijin was the one who gave me all the EXP to meet the S rank requirement...So yeah I do not have an uber long list of missions.

can't remember, or find the rest of the missions I did due to not having a list back then; and those missions seemed to have been taken down. So unfortunately this is all I got; wish I could remember though.

    Seijin's intervention: 1950 -> 75000

This really does make it feel like I am cheating ><

At the crown of the Eclipse Soul guildhall, above guildmaster Zeno's quarters, was the Phoenix's Nest. It was the highest point in Karakuri City and the freezing winds reminded him of that fact. The Nest was located on the roof of the guildhall's tower. It was a beautifully decorated shrine; rare ebony wood branches intertwined and arched around the shrine, embracing the meditation area in its center as walls and giving it the shape that earned its name. There were equally spaced holes in the branched walls from which the city and the mountainous scenery could be admired and watched.

The shrine was circular and seemed incredibly old, some tiles on it's cone-shaped roof broke the spiral pattern here and there to it's crystalline peak, a large lacrima crystal completed the point shining every brighter as the shimmering lights of dusk faded with the sun.

Beneath the shrine's cover were huge candles indicating the four corners of the world, blazing more strongly than torches. In the center was a stone semicircle, the sides of the arch facing upwards to suggest a circle perpendicular to the ground.

Zeno was seated in a meditational fashion on a rug before the stone arch. The rug led down the steps of the shrine onto the path to the closed wooden door. Behind the door was the long staircase all the way down to the upper area of the bar that was only accessible to mages of a higher rank.

The Phoenix's Nest served several important purposes, among which was one of the most challenging test of power an Eclipse Soul member could participate in.

    The S Rank Examination.

    AIAN KAMUY
    "To protect life.
To destroy life. Sometimes they are the same thing."
The sun was setting; and Aian finally hit a cross roads with his power. Kamuy and him have been getting along more and more each day since the corruption had entered his mind; and yet they remained so distant. Kamuy was keeping himself busy by forcing the corruption in Aian's mind away to allow him to be able to have a fighting chance to remove it. But at the same time, Aian's own lack of power made him believe the corruption's speech whenever it hit his ears. This has caused Aian to deter and wane from his path of wanting to protect several times ever since he became more active within the guild once more. After watching his friends, Reiki and Alye excell in power while he remained at an unnoticeable stand still; also helped discourage him. Yet he would continue to try harder and harder to excell. He even went to drastic lengths of finding a volcanoe to refine and remold his Iron to become even more devistating. Yet the barriors in his mind only allowed so much. It was then, Aian decided to sit down and meditate deeply to find a solution within the depths of the Eclipse Soul's guild Hall.

There, within the overwhelming darkness of the Hall's bowels, Aian began his meditation to find an answer to resolve his problem. There, he was transportated to the inner depths of his mind, standing in the darkness as the only source of light. Kamuy appeared walking out of the shadows, standing before Aian in his usual aggrovated manner.
"So, what are we going to do runt? Finally deciding to let me show you how wrong you are?" Kamuy taunted, cracking his finger and neck muscles instantaneously with a few movements of his fingers and neck. He didn't bare his insane smile like he normally would when itching for a fight; rather he too look exhausted and tired from the constant struggles he had to endure.
"No, Kamuy. I can't give into you; for it will solve nothing...We need to get stronger someho-" Aian protested not wanting to deal with Kamuy's provocations to gain power. However, Kamuy came to a simple conclusion rather quickly,
    "Remove your bonds..."
"What?" Aian questioned, unsure of what he meant.
"Those mental bonds within your thick head, ya moron. The ones you placed while eating that lacrima to not allow the magic to flow through you effectively."
"But, its too dangerous if we are not strong enough too control it."
"You simple, insignificant, naive child. You have broken the physical portion of those bonds several times! What more is there to risk!? Do you really not believe in yourself? Is it because no one has complimented you? Why!? Why keep those damn bonds if you know we must get stronger!? How long do you plan on handicapping us!?" Kamuy roared, lunging onto Aian and gripping his colar bone with his claw like nails digging into Aian's flesh, annoyed with Aian's incompotance. However, Aian did not give in.
"And how long do you plan on hiding from me!?" Aian protested; making Kamuy back off with a delayed snarl. "Kamuy, why is it you refuse to show me who you really are; what you really are. Yet all the while you mock and mimic my design with your twisted aura. Ever since I was a child you have never given me trust. Each time you fight with me; How can I feel confident!? There is no trust with the person who knows me most!"Kamuy retaliated quickly, silencing Aian by punching him in the jaw and knocking him down onto the ground, snarling. He then turned around and walked away from Aian into the shadows of their mind once more; forcing Aian back into reality leaving him with one last message:
"If you wish to see the real me, and earn my trust and confidence in you....Find a way to separate us from each other to fight it out in the real world...I cannot fight you as my real self inside you."
Aian sat within the darkness for a few more moments, thinking to himself still. His lack of confidence, his yurning to learn more about Kamuy, his desire to become stronger to defend all of those around him...He only knew of one person who could possibly help. The same person who brought him into the guild, Zeno Sombres. But Aian had no way of evaluating his skill. Aian relied heavily on his comrads to complete so many missions, and never once did he come out on top with any of them. The more Aian thought about it, the more he became discouraged. Until he thought of three people: His master Metallicana, the old woman who trained him and gave him the lacrima, and the master smith who helped him refine his iron. Each of them made Aian perform no matter how he felt. It was with this, Aian had to at least shrug the doubt from his mind and ask.

Aian was used to going up onto the second flight of Stairs to find missions to go on with Reiki. With permission of course as his last recorded power was still B rank. But when he was told where the Guild Master way, he had no choice. He walked up to the upper floor, and looked around for a way to get to the Pheonix Nest. Aian only noticed a long flight of stairs that seemed to go up into nothing but darkness. Aian took in a deep breath, and slowly walked up the stairs. During this time, he thought of the name of the highest location within the city and the guild. He never noticed it when walking up to the guild before, and he never heard of it till now. Aian also couldn't help but think of the Pheonix Mountains and when he hesitated into climbing them for so long when the guild moved to them. In a way, the mountains did in fact change him. Aian was no longer scared of them. Was it because he was reborn like the Pheonix, or was it because he simply never thought about it again. Aian didn't feel any different than he did all those years ago; other than how he felt about the mountains. Maybe it WAS just a fictional myth he thought to himself as he continued climbing the stairs. It took Aian somewhere near an hour, but what felt like days, of walking to reach a shadowed wooden door in front of him. When Aian placed his hand to open the door, he froze as he felt an enourmous power behind it. This power easily intimidated him and he slowly retracted his hand; his fingers twitching in fear. Aian panted slightly gripping his wrist trying to calm himself down. It was the same fear he felt all those years ago of trying to climb the mountains the first time. A fear that was crippling him to retreat. But to do so now would be pointless. Aian forced himself to push on,
I won't run. I am not afraid. I can't turn back. I have to prove myself to him. I will do anything to prove to him how wrong he is that my ideals can exist. In the name of my master, Metallicana, I MUST proceed no matter what lies before me...I can't turn back now!. Aian placed his palm forcibly onto the wooden door; and began to push it open. As the door creaked, the cracks slowly erupted with a blinding light from the shrine. But Aian pressed on, closing his eyes for a few moments to adjust. Once he had the door open, he looked around amazed at the circular room with wooden branches, broken tiles, a shinging lacrima, four large brightly burning torches facing the directions of the world's four corners, and in the circle was a semi-circle perpendicular to the ground; with his guild master meditating on a cushion underneath it. Just the feeling of this room alone felt like an ancient power equal to the presence of his dragon master. With Zeno sitting in the room; it felt like he was suffocating. Aian had never approached Zeno for advice before; and hardly spoke to him outside of the few confrontations that called for it. But he always did admire and look up to the man who gave him a second home. Aian was humble, and got down onto one knee before Zeno respectfully. He tried desperately hard to make a request; but his throat continued to feel clogged by a mix of different emotions and energies. Aian swallowed these sensations back, and tried to relax, sighing. He finally looked up to his Guild master, and made his plea:
"Guild Master Zeno, I-I wish to be tested."

Post by Zeno 7th May 2014, 6:56 pm

Zeno breathed slowly and steadily as Aian approached him, the lacrima on the shrine shining brighter as the air filled his lungs, and growing dimmer as the air streamed out of them. The lacrima was a beacon that could be seen for miles. All monks in the city dedicated to the Arcane Realm would halt whatever they were doing to send their spiritual powers to the Phoenix's Nest through meditation in order to draw enlightenment from it.

Zeno's visions had predicted that the young Dragonslayer would come seek him today, in the form of an enormous iron dragon. The guildmaster had interpreted this as a request for the S Rank examination. He wasn't entirely sure if that's what Aian was after, but he had prepared the Nest nonetheless.

"Breathe, Aian. It took courage for you to enter these mountains when you first joined Eclipse Soull. Now you are standing on one of its highest points. You've conquered these mountains. Take it in, realize your accomplishment. If meditate upon it, you may draw energy and further courage from it," the arcane servant spoke calmly.

He opened his eyes and folded his hands together in his lap.

"Now, what kind of test are you looking for?"

    AIAN KAMUY
    "To protect life.
To destroy life. Sometimes they are the same thing."
"Breathe, Aian. It took courage for you to enter these mountains when you first joined Eclipse Soull. Now you are standing on one of its highest points. You've conquered these mountains. Take it in, realize your accomplishment. If meditate upon it, you may draw energy and further courage from it," Aian listened intently, confused by what he first meant when telling him to breathe. But as he explained, Aian came to relax, taking his words in. Aian went from one knee to both, placing his hands upon his lap to relax. He closed his eyes, and did as he was told. Upon walking up the several flights of stairs Aian felt his mind somewhat empty and void of anything but his own thoughts. A sign that Kamuy is having himself shutout, no longer wanting Aian to consult with him. But as Aian took a breath in, he found that even his own thoughts melded away. Where there was doubt, was now a glimpse of hope and realization. Though enough to only give him a grasp of what the following question pertained too, "Now, what kind of test are you looking for?" Aian still felt no sign of Kamuy within in his mind; but the darkness he had known his entire life was being lifted away to reveal light as he exhaled. When Aian felt officially calm and confident in his answer; did he open his eyes once more to address his Guild Master.

"At first, I was not sure what I wanted for a test. Even now, I still don't truly have any form of plan in mind. But I know that I must do two things. The first, Guild Master, is that I need to prove myself. For so long have I felt as though I was simply being left behind by my friend, Reiki, especially after he gained his memories back." Aian's voice toned down, as his eyes narrowed and he slightly dipped his head forward as he recalled the strength of the Ice Dragon Slayer, "He went through a dramatically fast rate of growth; where as I felt as though I was barely even moving. No sooner than I had time to blink, did I see him become one of your guild's strongest, One of the Aces. I felt powerless when compared to him. No matter how hard I tried to train to close the gap it seemed like he was just making it further and further apart. I even took part of eating my Master's Lacrima before him; keeping it in secret. Yet he too did the same not long after; spreading us apart once more. Even after the year of training I underwent while Era was being destroyed to refine and strengthen my iron; I found no closing of that gap. Instead, I only saw it get yet even further apart when he arrived at the guild with his momento of the giant dragon-head. I know he didn't do it alone, but seeing him with that made me realize just how much we still were apart. Whenever I looked at him, I felt as though I was letting my Master down; disgracing his name." Aian stopped talking for a moment having to collect himself without breaking into tears. It was his biggest regret that he felt something he never wanted to do; but could not help but feel. He looked highly to his Master, Metallicana, and always showed him the highest of respect. In a way, Aian viewed the Iron Dragon as a child viewed their father; despite him not specifically being raised by the dragon like the others and only being taught. To Aian, it was the highest honor he could have ever been bestowed upon. He never wanted to bring his master's name down. Aian continued once more, some strength back into his voice as he opened his eyes more looking up at his Guild Master with a more relaxed look, "I swore to become a shield to protect the innocent. And yet I am always the one needing to be saved or protected in our missions together. I couldn't save myself as a child, and I couldn't save myself before. No matter how hard I tried; I couldn't do anything in the end. I've fought mages so much stronger than me and survived, though defeated. I have been dealt so many vital injuries and yet lived. I have endured my body being reconstructed as I took my Master's melting Iron Magic back into me within the volcano during my year of training and lived. I have endured so much pain for more than a thousand life times. I don't know what I must do for this test Guild Masterm, but I will do anything. If I must endure more; I shall. I will endure enough pain for a thousand, or even a million more life times. But I have to do one thing: to finally prove not just to everyone else, but to myself just how strong I truly am. Already, Kamuy has sealed off my aggressive half of my magic; locking himself away in my mind." Aian closed his eyes, taking in a deep breath that expanded his chest abnormally large for normal lungs, and then exhaled with excessive force. He opened his eyes once again. This time they were erupting with resolve as he practically glared at his Guild Master with as much of a serious look as he could perform. His voice reflected this, though remained respectful of the person he was speaking too, "But I will do this test anyway. I am tired of feeling weak. I need to prove that I not just have what it takes; but that I AM one of Eclipse Soul's higher up ranked mages. Even if I can't become an Ace like the others; I will show that I am too be recognized even too them; that I am no weaker than they are. I will not continue disrespecting my master's name!" The light glinting off of his eyes, appeared to make a shield within his pupils. An indication of a resolve from an Iron will passed down from master to pupil. For Aian, it was a dramatic change in his character; he rarely ever showed this form of resolve unless his ill words were spoken of his master. To Aian, this felt like his only chance to redeem the wrong he had brought upon his master's name.

The Iron Dragon Empty Re: The Iron Dragon

Post by Zeno 8th May 2014, 12:19 am

Zeno watched as the energies of the Phoenix Nest settled within Aian and allowed him to collect himself mentally. The dragonslayer then explained how much he had endured only to find himself wanting. The more he explained, seeking for an answer to the guildmaster's question, the stronger his will grow deep down. His resolve strengthened with every word in realization of what he desperately wanted.

Like a heated sword on the anvil, tirelessly hammered upon, strengthening with every strike. An iron will forged through endurance.

Zeno nodded in silence and acknowledgement.
"It is a strange thing that one can be blind to his own progress, while it can be so clearly measured by others," he said slowly with a thin smirk.

The wind blew harder through the gaps of the nest, making the huge fires of the candles dance violently. A certain magical pressure originated from Zeno, but more importantly from the stone arch behind him.

"The Eclipse Soul S Rank Examination is, as all lower rank ones, a test of body, mind and soul. However... this one will take place in the Arcane Realm."

A sudden spike of magical energy echoed through the room as the semicircle was completed in the form of a large circular portal. A gateway to the Arcane Realm.

"This means that all inner obstacles challenging your power will manifest themselves in very different, but physical ways. You will need to directly engage what you've always known as limitations, break them and discover how to overcome them, or even come to see them as advantages boosting your power. In this exam, you will release all your inner potential and draw from it greater power and further potential than you ever thought possible," the Wizard Saint explained as the portal behind him flooded with arcane energy and distorted the air around it.

"However, there is a reason we only allow those with S Rank potential to take this test. I believe you understand what I mean by that... This test is mortally dangerous."

He closed his eyes once more and continued his controlled breathing.

"Step through it when you're ready."

    AIAN KAMUY
    "To protect life.
To destroy life. Sometimes they are the same thing."
Aian listened to his Guild Master's response; it would be accurate to assume that most mages overestimate their strength and need to come to terms with just how strong they are in the opposite maner. But what confused Aian was the smirk that came upon his Guild master' face. A strong wind blew through the nest, making the flames dance violently upon their pedistals. This did not deter Aian one bit; he was more than heavy enough to endure the wind without wincing. What caused Aian to be on alert was the magical preassure filling the room from his Guild Master, and the stone behind him. Zeno began to explain what the test Aian was going to be recieving:
"The Eclipse Soul S Rank Examination is, as all lower rank ones, a test of body, mind and soul. However... this one will take place in the Arcane Realm." Before Aian had a chance to ask Zeno what the Arcane Realm was, having not been taught it by his Master indepthly, he felt a powerful spike of energy erupt and echoe through the nest. Aian gazed to see what the source of this power was from, and noticed the archway was now a full circle. Zeno began his explanation once more: "This means that all inner obstacles challenging your power will manifest themselves in very different, but physical ways. You will need to directly engage what you've always known as limitations, break them and discover how to overcome them, or even come to see them as advantages boosting your power. In this exam, you will release all your inner potential and draw from it greater power and further potential than you ever thought possible," The the portal behind Zeno flooded with arcane energy and distorted the air around it. Aian knew this was only done by a vast amount of raw energy; something that actually churned Aian's stomach slightly. He was sensitive to alterations within his environment; but he would have to push through. He couldn't let something like tihs alter his choice. Though as Zeno explained how he would face his known limitations he couldn't help but think of Kamuy deep within the recesses of his mind. "However, there is a reason we only allow those with S Rank potential to take this test. I believe you understand what I mean by that... This test is mortally dangerous." This factor didn't really concern Aian. He had his inner organs stabbed multiple times-was sent flying into the base of one of these mountains from the garden by an explosion-having his body reach a point of heat where he should have spontaneously combusted- been maliciously beaten on by various enemies- been electricuted to a vital extent of tanking several A rank spells in a row- and even dealt with heavy blood loss. Granted he was NEVER okay after all of that and required a vast amount of time to rehabilitate; nothing had seemed to be able to KILL him. He always avoided death by the last inch. He knew he wasn't invincible; but he had no fear of hearing the words "Mortally" combined with anything else to be negative. Somehow he survived; he knew he would keep surviving as long as he could. If he were to die in this test it would only mean he was not ready. But his Guild Master saw him, and accurately judged him worthy. Now it was up to him when he entered the portal. But there was a question he had to get off his mind.

"Guild Master, would these limitations possibly involve Kamuy?" Aian began, staring off into the portal behind the Wizard Saint. "Before coming here, Kamuy gave me a challenge: To find a way to separate us from each other so that we can fight in our true forms. Him and I fought each other so many times within our shared space of mind; but he always was limited to my form, my power, and it equaled as a stalemate with only determination being the deciding factor. I saw his true power when I was a child before he came into my being, I know I won't stand a chance against him with his real power as I am now. But if this zone can bring him out into a physical form for us to fight; than I know we will settle this despute once and for all. Kamuy holds the aggressive and offensive side to my magic. WIthout him, I know I cannot be complete and be able to obtain my true power. If I were to win; he would recognize me and work with me like how we should have been doing all along....But if I lose...The person emerging from this portal won't be me. So, is the arcane realm able to do this?" Aian explained; though he did not show fear of the possible outcome. Even now when he was deminished by half of his strength; Zeno had faith he could perform this test by bringing it too him. Or at least that is what he thought. Not knowing if it was true or not; it gave Aian confidence too not only go through the test to unlock his strength, but be able to fight Kamuy at the end of it. But if the arcane realm had no such ability to bring Kamuy out of Aian's mind into his physical form; than he would have to wait another day to acquire that battle.

Post by Zeno 11th May 2014, 1:31 am

Zeno licked his lips pensively. And only after a brief silence did he open his mouth.

"Yes. If Kamuy has indeed been the limitation you describe him to be... Then the arcane realm will draw him out of you, give him a shape, a body, power."

Zeno brought his hands up, spread out his fingers and then slowly moved them down. The rushing energies of the portal settled and stabilized once more. Zeno would have to maintain the bridge between the arcane realm and the real world, otherwise the portal would close and Aian would be trapped in one of the darker circles of the magical dimension. If the bridge were to collapse, Zeno would have then have to navigate into the arcane realm and drag Aian out of there himself. This was not really an issue, but Aian would be stuck with his inner demons for an extended period of time. Not only would his inner struggles relentlessly manifest physically, but also his greatest fears. Wave after wave after wave. Only SS Rank mages could pull off such a feat.

"Be careful, Aian. There was another person with a form of split-personality that took this test. It feels like a lifetime ago, it was before Eclipse Soul, but I remember it very clearly. He did not survive, killed himself in fact. Fighting the other person inside you is not the only thing you will have to face. Kamuy's powers will be strengthened by your own negative emotions, fears, limitations. He will be stronger than you have ever known him to be. This test is more dangerous for people like you who carry inner struggles that actually hold an identity," the guildmaster spoke with a calm but grim voice. The memory was written on his face.

    AIAN KAMUY
    "To protect life.
To destroy life. Sometimes they are the same thing."
"Yes. If Kamuy has indeed been the limitation you describe him to be... Then the arcane realm will draw him out of you, give him a shape, a body, power." This made Aian feel relieved as it would be a chance to fight Kamuy once he resolved his other limitations. Aian than observed as Zeno would make a few motions with his hands that stabalized the portal. Aian began to come to the conclusion he would be maintaining said portal while Aian was inside. Though his Guild Master was powerful; he did not know how long he could maintain such a portal even in this room. But before Aian could request a time he listened as Zeno made a warning, "Be careful, Aian. This test is more dangerous for people like you who carry inner struggles that actually hold an identity," This warning triggered a small flashback within Aian's mind to something his Master told him long ago when he was still training:

It was mid day within the long blazing season within the Canyon, Metallicana was making Aian carry a boulder half his size on his back up one of the many slopes within the canyon to help increase his muscles. Of course, Aian was moving annoyingly slow to the Iron Dragon.
"PICK UP THE PACE YOU RUNT! I AM NOT WASTING MY YEARS WATCHING YOU CRAWL WHEN YOU SHOULD BE RUNNING!!" As Aian attempted to pick up his pace as the Dragon watched, Metallicana contiued with the lesson he was going over the previous day; a lesson about the elements, "WHAT ARE THE NAMES OF EACH ELEMENT!?"
"I-Iron, I-Ice, F-Fire, L-Lightning, W-Water," Aian stuttered, trying to keep up the new pace as he recited what he learned the previous day. Though his training was making it difficult to breathe but he pushed through, "E-Earth, W-Wind, L-Light, D-Darkness, And-" Aian stumbled falling with the rock ontop of him holding him down, "Arcane..."
"GET THE HELL UP YOU WORTHLESS RUNT!!" Metallica roared, stomping his front paw down causing the canyon to slightly quake. Aian slowly lifted himself up with the rock still on his back climbing up the canyon slope.
"Master, where do all of these magics come from?"
"ARCANE IS PURE ENERGY! IT IS THE ORIGIN OF ALL MAGIC! THE ARCANE REALM IS WHERE IT ALL FLOWS FROM THIS WORLD; ALL MAGES CHANNEL INTO THE ARCANE REALM WITH THEIR MAGIC CIRCLES; EVEN YOU WILL DO THIS TO USE MY MAGIC!
"Than...Wouldn't it make sense to actually go to the-"
"IF YOU SO MUCH AS PUT A CELL INTO THE ARCANE REALM I WILL KILL YOU MYSELF!" Metallica inturrupted, knocking the rock on Aian's back off with his shouting and setting an even larger one onto him. "NOW KEEP RUNNING!!"

Aian looked into his Guild Master's face, and he could tell he knew of someone whom suffered greatly from Aian's similar situation. Aian could hear Kamuy laugh inside his head softly, whispering in anticipation, ""I will be waiting." This caused Aian to stare at the portal for a few moments intimidated. He knew Kamuy to be strong; but to think about how much stronger he will be inside that realm terrified him. But, he could not turn back now. Aian took a deep breath to calm himself. He then looked at his Guild Master with a confidant smile.
"You would not be giving me this form of a test if you did not know I couldn't handle it Guild Master. I will endure everything that comes my way until I pass. But, I need to know one last thing. How long do you want me to stay in the portal? It is clear you are going to keep it open in order for me to leave when I need too, and that how long it takes for me to initially pass is all up to how quickly I can conquer all of my limitations. But I know you would not want to risk me being in there too long. So, how much time are you giving me to initially complete this test?"

The Iron Dragon Empty Re: The Iron Dragon

Post by Zeno 28th May 2014, 7:03 pm

Zeno licked his lips and wiggled his fingers as if he was calculating his grip on the portal, checking how long he could maintain it. Then look at Aian in a very relaxed fashion.

"Over the years I have grown quite comfortable in passing back and forth from and to the Arcane Realm. I have gained its favor, so that makes it easier for me to keep such a portal open. This grip is the second one," the guildmaster spoke, nodding at his open palms with fingers spread out.

"I have learned over twenty different grips to keep this gate stable. Each grip gives you one hour. So..."

Zeno calmly stretched his neck thinking about just how long he could actually sit in this room. Realizing he should have told Kyll to come feed him and bring him water every now and then.

"You have little more than a day. If the portal destabilizes and closes, I will have to come find you myself, but bear in mind that the Realm is enormous and everchanging. Time and space is completely different in there, so it might take me a while to find and reach you. When the gate is shut you'll be on your own." He said and pauses for a moment.

I imagine your exam will probably take longer than most, but how much longer is hard to tell. I don't think it should take more than twelve hours.. on this side. To you it might feel like less than an hour."

The Iron Dragon Empty Trials Part 1, Innosence.

    Post by NightDrivenEn7 3rd June 2014, 8:14 am

    AIAN KAMUY
    "To protect life.
To destroy life. Sometimes they are the same thing."
(I will be doing my exam trials within the Arcane realm in parts so it is easier to follow; and for me to just keep mental record.)

A bit over a day for him to keep the portal up. And an estimated twelve hours of completion. Aian didn't know what kind of activities he will meet within the Arcane Realm. Aian took in one last deep breathe to calm his nerves, raising to his feet. He exhaled, and walked towards the portal; slowly stepping through. His twelve hours started then.

Just stepping beyond the portal threw Aian for a loop: His sense of time was thrown completely off switching between feeling hours going by to an eternal second passing. He held no sense of balance; unable to tell if he was walking straight, or on a sphere; just that he was passing by something in some form of manner. Direction held no sense of truth into it. He didn't have any physical plane to see, no horizon no vertical point, nothing. His eyes were only picking up the flow of energy in an array of colors within an ever-changing background. Each color-Aian estimated- held an element: Fire is red, Water is Sea Blue, Ice is Cyan, etc. The world around him was a swirling torrent of colors on a dark purple background; Aian even lost position of the portal he had come through. However, everything around him turned completely black suddenly. Slowly, a scene of Aian standing in a hallway late at night in the bluish glow of moonlight faded in around him. Aian reached to the wall, touching it. It felt actually there. Real. Aian became confused; trying to figure out where he was. There were two doors up ahead of him, each leading too a different room. Then there was a "T" section just beyond those. Aian looked behind him to see a somewhat familiar doorframe; one that he did not immediately recognized but scratched at the back of his head. It looked like a simple door with a small semi circle window at the top. It was both common and fancy looking, so it didn't stand out too him. He tried opening the door, but it was locked. He couldn't get it to budge an inch. Raising an eyebrow, he turned around to see a black figure just slip beyond the corner of the "T" section up ahead. Aian walked up to the corner, looking around to see anything. To the right was a neat and tidy large kitchen. To the left where he saw the shadow run by, there was another door on the left hand side down further away, and a stair case to the right. But no shadow figure. Aian felt something staring at him from behind.

There was a small black figure standing right behind him in front of the two doorways. It walked into the room on its left, just as Aian turned around. Aian was beginning to get nervous. He walked slowly towards the door on his right, and peered into the room. There he saw a smoking fireplace, and two well-adorned chairs sitting in front of it. There, Aian saw the black figure down on the other end of the room beyond the second chair. It was small, child size, but completely adorned in shadows. "Are you okay?" Aian asked, naturally being concerned for a child; forgetting where he currently was taking a test. The child like figure didn't speak, but ran away towards the hall and up the stairs through the second doorway. Raising an eyebrow; Aian followed cautiously and silently. There were no pictures at all like how a normal home would have of the family or memories; each of the walls was bare. The top of the stairs was the darkest part of the house, as there wasn't a single window in that hallway to give way to light. But Aian could vaguely see a child run up to one of the doors, opening it and closing it behind him. The door prevented Aian from seeing if it was the same figure or what was beyond inside the room as the door opened up in his direction. Aian slowly walked towards the door, his stomach twisting and turning as he felt a very familiar presence beyond the door. Aian opened it slowly, and stepped inside.
Aian was immediately bathed in moonlight from the large window in front of him. The blue tint that filled the room flooded his brain with memories. He knew now where exactly he was. It was his old bedroom. The neatly made bed, no toys at all to play with or even to leave on the floor, a well kept clean carpet, a mirror resting on the left wall, and a single dresser next to his bed underneath the window. Everything was exactly the same; except for the shadow figure that stood in the very middle of this room. Aian could tell immediately who it was, himself. The shadow figure turned to prove his prediction right: it was a smaller younger version of himself holding a butcher knife. Shadows covered his face, but tear marks could be seen running down off of his cheeks. The knife was positioned downward ready to plunge into the small chest of the child.
"I...Did...It"Were the only words from the younger Aian as he stood there with the blade in hand.
"Come over here, give me the knife." Aian stated calmly and soft hoping to get his younger version to listen, "What did you do?"
"I...Killed...Them." The sobbing child replied, making Aian open his eyes wide. He knew exactly what he was talking about; but he never blamed himself for what happened that night in his childhood. That night, Kamuy had possessed Aian fully and forced him to murder his parents with a knife downstairs in the kitchen. Then, he set the house ablaze; killing all of the servants whom were sleeping with them and destroying the house.
"It wasn't our fault, Kamuy-" Aian began quickly trying to counter-argue and calm the child; but stopped when he screamed out in pain from his left hand. The child version of him had stabbed his own left hand while Aian was talking. Aian looked at his palm to see it was profusely bleeding from a stab wound. That was when Aian remembered where exactly he was and what he was doing. This was one of the tests he had to get over: but what did he have to do? Aian tried to rush to his younger version to forcefully remove the knife from his hand. But, as he took one step with his right foot forward, the child stabbed his right knee; causing Aian to collapse.
"I killed them...It's my fault..." The child repeated, lifting the knife out of his knee and stabbing his other; pinning Aian to his spot. Aian would gasp out as his legs refused to move with the pain of the tendons being pierced. It was apparent that the child was not going to let him stop by force; leaving him only one option.
"No! We did not kill them! It's not our Fault!" The child stabbed his left shoulder. Aian winced at the pain but kept going. "Kamuy did it! There was nothing we could do!"Stabbed in the in the right shoulder. Cut along his left cheek. Stabbed in both of his calves. The onslaught continued to get worse and worse the more Aian tried to fight back. Finally, the child aimed for his heart.
"It's...my...fault..." He uttered, raising the knife. Aian was in pain, and he could feel a tightening sensation along his heart. But he wasn't caring about that at this point: Aian felt pain like this before through his constant beatings whenever he misbehaved. It all came flooding back in one wave that he had suppressed for years upon years. He snapped.
"THEY DESERVED IT!!!" Aian roared out at the top of his lungs. The child stopped, holding the knife in mid air as if waiting for him to continue. Aian sat there panting. Though his eyes flared with rage as he glared up at the child. "They deserved it...They deserved every once of pain that they are receiving. They are down in hell, BURNING, for their sins! They never loved us; THEY HATED US! They were not parents, they just kept us around to keep their image up. But they never once cared. Not an ounce. No, they deserved every little bit that we did to them. I wanted to do it; but couldn't bring myself too. Kamuy did it for us, but it was OUR WILL to have it done! They never tried to make up for what they did! It got worse, and worse, and worse. Being beaten for no reason everyday we had no choice but to believe it was our fault. But we did nothing, ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING BUT EXIST! I AM GLAD THAT THEY ARE DEAD!" Aian ranted out. The child was stunned; unsure of to be afraid or anything else. But Aian's rage settled as tears flowed out from him. He forced himself up despite the pain, and walked towards the child. He placed his hands onto his shoulders and held a smile upon his face. "But because of what happened, we found out that the world is not just full of pain. We found Master. He taught us everything we needed to know. And then we found our Guild Master, and a new family. People who accepted us; and got to know us. We found out what it meant to really be in a family because of them." The child was crying at this point too. A small faint light was glowing around the child as Aian kept up with his smile. "So, no more regrets; okay?"
"Okay..." The child nodded with a smile. It turned into a flash of light, clearing Aian's vision of the house and putting him back into what he stepped into. Aian's own body was slightly glowing, as the wounds mostly healed and closed to enable him to move properly again.

The Iron Dragon Empty The unanswerable question

    Post by NightDrivenEn7 28th June 2014, 12:54 pm

Aian was now back in the multi-colored purple world looking down at the ground in slight disbelief. He had no idea what just occured. Was it all his imagination? Did he actually go back in time to meet his younger self? Or was it this realm? He was confused. He was told never to enter this realm at all costs: but it was the test given to him by his Guild Master for him to prove his power. But he never expected it to be like this. Nor did he know what he was doing. Was he supposed to just wait? Was he supposed to walk around and encounter random bits? He was baffeled, turning around to look for the portal entrance. But there was none. Aian could not see where he had entered the realm. Did it close? Or was he not where he previously was? If he wanted to leave he couldn't. It was impossible at this point. How much time had passed? It only felt like three minutes for that encounter. Had most of his time already been up? He could not tell. In a mix of emotions Aian began trying to find the portal; sprinting off to where he thought he would have to go. He wasn't sure and all of his senses were heywired. No directional sense of even going left or right. He couldn't even tell if he was floating down or up; everything looked the exact same. No flat walkway, no path, nothing. Aian kept on running looking frantically from side to side just to locate the portal. He didn't want to leave. He just wanted to know he had the ability too if things got too dangerous.
