What good was giving directions without having a face to go with the name? Partnered up with a fellow member of the guild to get the ship decorated with festive decor for the season, Tabitha was not against the idea of helping out. The idea of working with someone else made the job much easier, however she didn’t know what to expect when it came to working with people she didn’t know. All she knew was this was a cadet woman whom went by a name of Aliannah and that was about it. With people being out for jobs and possibly just asleep in their room, it was left purely to these two. It got her to wonder just what kind of talents that this woman had to provide to the table to do this task. Could she fly? Telekinesis? Maybe some kind of special ability that let her wrap things at extraordinary speed. Who knew?

Surely there was a good reason for pairing these two up together to do this task. However, there was one thing that she had to make sure to try and get done first and that was the Arborium. Probably the largest room seemed like the best place to knock out first to ease the workload afterward. Boxes and totes loaded to the top with every little thing one could need, but a tree. The real task involved getting one from the town they had docked in from the festival. Why that one, she didn’t know, but hopefully she could enjoy the festivities while they were out as they didn’t have any need to rush to get everything done in one day. So, the cat girl kicked back at a table by herself, legs up one of the chairs next to her while sipping on a glass of wine and awaiting this guild member to show up to get things started.

Aliannah didn't live near the ship, one would say that she was a commuter, she had her own little apartment at the sanctuary with the rest of the orphans and the volunteers that kept the place up and running. The girl had recently helped decorate the small area, putting up decorations and lights, her wings coming in hand as they needed to reach the tall places. The Christmas cheer was very clearly evident in the sanctuary and the blonde couldn't be happier about it. It had been nearly two years since she helped establish the small village and even though she was not around as much to help now, it seemed like it was flourishing and people were truly happy. She was able to give people something that she had never had, a family.

A smile was on her face as she flew to the large ship that was now her guild hall, memories of decorating with the rest of the kids fresh in her mind. While she wouldn't be able to spend this Christmas with her best friend she knew that she would be able to spend it with them. After, of course, helping out with the decorating of the guild. She had received a message asking her to help out, that she and one other mage would be gathering decor from the nearby town and bringing it back to the ship to decorate. She hadn't been able to do that in the past so it was a new experience to her, something that she looked forward to. Maybe she would even be able to make friends with the person that she was working with!

Without a sound she landed on the desk, amongst the trees and vegetation, her movement scaring some of the birds from their perches. She walked along the trail to the elevator that took her to the first floor of the ship, where she assumed her guild mate was waiting for her.

Her blonde hair swayed around her waist as she walked from the pod, her citrine eyes flickering around in an attempt to spot the other.

There.

A dark haired girl sat with a wine glass in her hand and her feet propped up. And... were those cat ears on her head? Whatever. Aliannah had seen plenty of other weird things in her live, a cat girl would just be another thing to add to the list.

Taking in a breath and summoning her confidence the blonde headed over to the other. "Hey, you must be Tabitha, I'm Aliannah, I'll be working with you today." There was a cheery side to her voice, but something like defensive joking lining the outside of her words. "What do you say we head down to the festival and enjoy ourselves for a bit before we get the decorations and bring them back to the guild?"

So it's Christmas time, and once again we are here to provide you with a Christmas theme IC event for you all to enjoy. This event will run until the 7th of January (7pm EST, 4pm PST).

Anywhere

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The snow is falling, town streets are blanketed with garland and lights, and Christmas music can be heard playing in every store and every home. Everyone is scrambling to buy the perfect gifts for their loved ones, and the smell of peppermint, hot chocolate, and warm fires is a common occurrence. It’s a time of giving, of loving, of laughing, and most importantly: togetherness.

This year, nearly every town and city has set up a Christmas themed festival for people to attend, complete with a number of fun contests and activities to participate in. There’s something to do for everyone! Do you enjoy tree decorating? There’s a contest for that! Were you the kid that always shook your presents to try and guess what was inside? Come show off how good your guessing skills are! Is there something about singing Christmas carols that just immerses you in the holiday spirit? Come show off your vocal chords at the karaoke booth! All these activities and more are waiting for you to come enjoy!

Just make sure to be wary. Not everyone likes Christmas. In fact, some people hate it! There have been rumors going around about someone trying to squash the holiday and ruin it for everyone else. How rude! This suspect is described to be an older man capable of summoning ghosts that can haunt people by revealing scary or unsettling truths about their past, present, and future. Keep an eye out, and be careful!

Players will receive peppermint sticks for participating in the Christmas Activities. Each game or contest is worth different amounts of peppermints for participating in them. When a task states there is a roll, you MUST roll. Failure to roll when told to do so will result in failing to complete the requirements of the event. If an activity does not specify the need to roll, then you are not required to roll for it. In order to turn in the event, the players must collect at least five peppermints as a group.

Players may also choose to fight monsters instead of, or in addition to, participating in activities. The monsters for this event MUST be spawned IN ORDER from weakest to the boss. All monsters must be defeated in order to turn in the event.

Players may participate in the event in groups of 1-6 mages, with a minimum total WC of 2,000 per person.

User rank EXP and 25,000 jewel. D & C Ranks receive B rank EXP, S Ranks and above receive 10 Year EXP.

Depending on whether players choose to participate in games and/or fight monsters, they will also receive additional rewards listed below. The Tree Ornament is earned by completing the activities and collecting at least 5 peppermints as a group, while the Scrooge’s Top Hat is earned by defeating Scrooge and his ghosts.

❆ Tree Ornament - A colorful bauble meant to be hung on a Christmas Tree! Can be turned in with a future thread for a one time 25% bonus to jewel rewards.

❆ Scrooge’s Top Hat - A stiff hat with a flat top that stands a solid foot tall upon the wearer's head. It looks pretty old and worn, like Scrooge was too cheap to replace it over the years. Can be turned in with a future thread for a one time 25% bonus to EXP rewards.

Faint purring escaped the neko lips as she sipped from her wine glass and relaxed. The taste of a fine wine never went for granted with this Sinisterre, nor would it ever. She took her time to enjoy every bottle and never quickly tried to “enjoy” beyond her means. She had been trying to make things in good standings for her whole life, and to practice the moderation of a very delicious wine no matter the price felt like an admirably adult idea to her. Though whether it was true or not was not entirely the case. It was what she thought was the responsible thing to do and responsibilities were held to a high standard when it came to her family, very specifically her own as opposed to the main line of the family. Still, it pushed her to do what she pleased without letting herself be consumed by the temptations in life that would lead one to be less than their greatest potential and for one, the cat girl was always for being the best.

As the shadow mage continued to relax in wait, she heard a voice following a few footsteps. With her eyes closed in the throws of her drinks’ taste, she had not taken any look at whom approached her, but that it was a female from what she could gather. She had swallowed her mouthful of wine and let out a happy “nyaaa” sound of refreshment. “Mew’re lookin at her~” She replied, sitting up in her seat and then taking another sip of her wine. After setting the glass down on the table, she opened her eyes and looked up towards the woman whom she’d be accompanying on this task. She had cute taste in clothes, very slender figure, and long, sleek... blonde... hair... The color began to fade from the Sinisterre’s face before she spat out her wine in the woman’s general direction, unsure and frankly uncaring if she doused her in the alcoholic drink.

“Oh hell nyo!” She shouted, jumping up and over the back of her chair. As she did so, her foot caught the top of the chair and she brought it backward with her, letting out a sudden scream as she crashed onto the ground with the chair now on top of her. “Mmrrrowwwwie...” Tabitha muttered, rubbing her head and pushing the chair off from on top of her. This was a task both asked and assigned to her. Whether she liked it or not, this... person was going with her.

The said blonde paused for a moment as she watched her guildmate freak out over something that she was not quite sure of. And while Aliannah would never boast about her reflexes, they weren't too bad, she never thought that she would be bested by a glass of wine being spit at her, staining her coat. Erm, well, she really didn't have time to go back to her house to change now, so she could only hope that there would be something that she could find at the festival in town.

Citrine blue eyes looked despairingly at the stain before the girl sighed.

Taking in a breath the mage walked over to her guild mate, picking up the now tipped over chair on her way. "I'm not sure if you said sorry, or owwie, but I hope you're okay." The blonde offered out a hand, hoping that the other would take it despite her reaction earlier. Aliannah was still quite confused by it, she was sure that she had never seen the other before, there was no way that she could have offended her, at least not yet. Had she developed some sort of reputation? There was no way, the blonde spent most of her time at the sanctuary, taking care of the kids. She really didn't like fighting and going off to battle other mages to make a name for herself like many others did. It was just simply confusing.

"I'm not quite sure if, uh, or what, it is about me that made you react like that, but we need to do this assignment together, so if there is anything I could do to make it happen faster and easier, just let me know." The blonde gave the other a customer service smile and tilted her head slightly.

Shaking off the fact she'd fallen over the way she did was more of a bruise to her ego than it was anything else. However, the cat girl was still reeling from the act of having fallen down like she had. So much so that when the blonde spoke up, she pounced up onto her feet and tried to brush herself off like nothing had happened. "I-I'm fine. I-I don't need mew're c-concern." She huffed, her face bright red while she refused to look at the blonde for a moment or two. The Sinisterre refused to allow this woman to get under her skin with some sarcastic comment. it didn't matter that it wasn't but they were all the same. Her whole life, all of them were the same.

The shadow mage finally popped one eye open, eyeing over the blonde for a moment. She seemed to be a very sweet appearing person... now coat covered in her wine and spit, but there was no way Tabitha was going to reply to the likes of a blonde. When she had mentioned that they were gonna be on a job together, she would have to bite the bullet and at least try to cooperate with her. At least this wasn't of her own choice. The woman did offer to do anything for her to help make things easier, and the first thing in mind came blurting out of her mouth. "Could start by shaving your head..." She wasn't saying it loudly, however it wasn't exactly muttered in a way it couldn't be heard by her either.

"...Mew can start by... telling me how repay you for the sweater..." She was gritting her teeth, hating the idea of offering the blonde anything, however she was trying to shift her perspective to working with a guild member, not some self entitled one of... those things.

The blonde could only watch the other while they seemed to be having some sort of conflict with themselves. She nibbled at her bottom lip and waited patiently for the other to make the first move. It took a couple minutes of Aliannah standing still and waiting for the other before Tabitha finally moved to look at her. And while what the cat girl didn't say it very loud, it was certainly loud enough for Aliannah to hear it. Shave her head? Was it the length of her head? The blonde picked up a piece of loose hair and tossed a glance from it to the mage's hair in front of her. No, it probably wasn't length... was it colour then? The blonde blinked once. Why would someone hate blondes? She shook her head slightly and listened to the next question from the brunette. This one much louder than the previous.

"Ah! Don't worry too much about it! I'm sure that there is something down in the town to replace it!" She flashed the other a smile, wanting them to go a little faster, after all they didn't really have all the time in the world to get the decorations before Christmas.

She paused for a moment remembering what the other had said about her hair and flashed the other a smile, focusing her magic a little she began to change appearance. Brown hair now fluttered across her shoulders and down her back. Hopefully the other would find this appearance more suitable and workable to their tastes.

"I hope this is better than shaving my head. Now let's head out!" The now brunette made her way to the pod to take them down to the ground, knowing that it would likely be better to travel with her guild mate than on her own.

It didn't take them very long to get to town, likely about a half an hour walk. The blonde attempted to make small talk along the way, staying quiet tho when Tabitha didn't answer.

The town was bustling, flowing with colour and music. A smile drew upon the female's face as she looked around, spotting something from the corner of her eye. It looked to be some sort of sweater making activity. Looking back at Tabitha the brunette motioned to it. "I told you that there would be something!" She was optimistic and looked back at the cotton clothing.

"Are you interested in making an ugly Christmas sweater Ma'am?"

It was hard to tell if she was building a portion of respect or just utter disgust at this woman’s utter cheery attitude over everything. Even down to the comment of shaving her head, she brushed everything off and seemed so happy about it. It didn’t seem like she got the hint of her hatred over blonde haired people even while she had seemed to be getting a little close to the point when she picked up a small section of her hair and looked at it and then to the Sinisterre. Then again, hardly anyone knew of the reasons behind it. She’d only met few of them in her lifetime and this one was by far the most tolerable of them all, with that mutt of a blonde she’d met on her adventures being the second. Even then, to call him a second was stretch in it of itself, however if this woman kept up this “perfect Angel” attitude, she’d probably knock herself down to second without doing much more effort.

It felt more like a case of hypocrisy, considering Tabitha could be nearly as nice on a normal basis, however she had certain ticks that got her into the type of position she were in now. But, at least it was ONLY that she were blonde. Had she of been even a bit neglectful in cleanliness or anything that stuck out to the cat girl, she’d most likely be in a fit of mania. But as she looked on at this woman for a moment, it seemed the mania had come to afflict the shadow mage this round. Emerald orbs widened as the long blonde flowing locks began to suddenly shift its color from the roots to the ends before her eyes. Her mouth hung agape for a moment in disbelief from the sight. Was she just screwing with her? Was the blonde purely a prank!? “Are mew fucking with me? I-” She stopped, holding her hands up at chest level, palms out like a physical symbol of stopping herself. “Nyever mind. Let’s just get the show on the road.” It was still easy to tell there was some annoyance in her tone of voice, but she was more compliant just making herself believe that Aliannah was not a natural blonde. At least for the one time she’d have to deal with her.

While the pair had been making their way to the town, the other woman tried to make some small talk with her. The ebony haired girl made light replies, keeping to few words and not trying to let herself be fooled twice. After arriving to the festivities in the town, they came to a much more crowded and cheerful atmosphere. While it felt relieving for her, the noises caused her ears to flicker. Her tail swished with hesitation to move forward, but not due to her partner for a change. Well, at least crowds could get her away from the other woman for a little while. The first thing brought to attention was a stall where one could make a sweater. Oh how the petty and cruel things came to her mind, but in the end it wasn’t something she felt right doing. It was a season that was supposed to be about giving. So, Tabitha thought about it for a moment and then the idea hit her.

With a smile, she stepped forward. “Yeah, I’m gonna make one for my guildmate here. Mew wait over there, blondie.” She knew who she was talking to, though she was a brunette currently. She would step over and begin to work with the stall worker in the design and when finished, came out to present it to her guildmate. Wrapped in a box, she had held it out with her eyes and head averted with a slight embarrassment or shyness. The sweater was admittedly better than she anticipated and as an added bonus, had contained the guild symbol on the inside of each sleeve just for an added bit of uniqueness without taking away from the outfit. “I hope.. mew can forgive me. B-But don’t think I did it for any special reason... I just didn’t like the fact I felt self centered about earlier.” The next thought that came to her head caused her to sigh, but she felt it was only fair. “Listen. If... you’re more comfortable keeping your hair blonde, don’t change it for me.” And with that, she could feel a weight lifted from her shoulders. One that she didn’t begin feeling until the making of this sweater had hit her.

As the now brunette moved to answer the lady at the stall, she never managed to get out a word as Tabitha seemed to reply faster. Oh. Oh! She was going to make a sweater for her! Aliannah giggled internally and tensed her body happily, trying to keep the emotions down. "Okay!" She replied. But also, Aliannah was really bad at staying in one spot. Her feet led her along the stalls, the sparkling ornaments and tinsel capturing her attention. She really loved Christmas, she could remember several years ago there being an attack on it, but it seemed like most of the commotion was down seeing as there were people as jolly as they were in the previous seasons. Her fingers played with a ribbon that was attached to a present. Something red and about the size of her palm.

"Ah, ma'am! It seems that you've found a present!"

The brunette perked up at the voice in front of her. She hadn't meant to touch the things at the stall, it's just that her head had gotten caught up in all of the festivities that she really wasn't paying attention to what she was doing. "Oh! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to!" The female mage stuttered out and swiftly retreated her hand from the box.

The younger gentleman in front of her laughed and smiled down at the girl. "It's quite alright! You see we're here for a fun little activity!" The brunette was slightly confused and tilted her head as the man in front of her lifted the present that she had just been holding and offered it out to the mage. "You see, it's a game. You're to pick out a present and guess what is inside of it. If you get it right then you get to keep it! Of course there's a couple rules such as the fact you can't use magic to see what the item is."

This sounded fun! The blonde smiled as she took the present from the man in front of her. "I can give it to my guild mate if it's something that she likes." The blonde mumbled to herself and slightly to the man in front of her. She lifted the box up to her ear and shook it slightly, hearing the jingling of something inside. Aliannah paused for a moment and lifted it again. There was no way. That would be too easy. "Sir? How many guesses do I have?"

"As many as you need!"

The brunette smiled and shook the box a couple more times in different directions. She lifted it to her nose to see if she could smell anything, nope. The mage looked up at the man behind the stall. "It's a bell of some sort."

"Yes, that is certainly part of it." He smiled back at the blonde and chucked as Aliannah shook it again.

"It's not a collar, there's no sound of something thicker than some sort of ribbon." The brunette bit her lip and paused for a moment, thinking.

She looked up once more at the man at the stall. "Is it a hair pin?"

A bright smile shown back at her. "Indeed it is! Congratulations!" The brunette matched his smile and held the present close to her. She would give this to Tabitha when she would go back to meet her. Aliannah wasn't sure what the present looked like, but she was sure that it was beautiful.

With a skip in her step the blonde made her way back to where Tabitha had told her to stay. It seemed like she had just arrived as the other was finishing. The girl was a little nervous as she didn't know how the cat lady would react to the gift, seeing as the brunette hadn't picked it out herself.

A bright smile appeared on her face as the other turned around and presented in her hands the sweater that she had made with an apology. Aliannah tilted her head and accepted the gift with both hands, her pinky finger holding onto the present that she had gotten from the stall. She melted slightly hearing what the other had to say and shook her head. "It matters not to me. It's a blessing to be able to change form to be able to appeal to others. It's not much effort on my part and while when changing full body, it can be a little bit awkward, this was merely changing my hair, it was fine! Tho I do admit, it's a little strange. I can imagine like it's dying my hair." The brunette fumbled slightly with the sweater before she managed to righten herself and present to gift to the other.

"I know you told me to stay put, but I was drawn away by the festivities. However, I did get you a present! I have an idea of what's inside, but I'm not exactly sure. I hope that you like it!" Aliannah offered the gift over, the red package shimmering slightly in her hand as she held it out to Tabitha.

if there was one thing she felt adamant about tonight with how things were going, she had realized how selfish she'd been in assuming this guildmate of hers was just like every other blonde person she'd ever met or dealt with in her life. There was something about this particular one that gave her a glint of hope that she had just been dealing with the wrong crowd, however the other part of her had her convinced she must never tell anyone else. None of the family must know she gained any sort of affinity for someone like that. The confliction had her mentally fractured on the idea, but somehow she seemed to wrap it back to her old self in a sense. She wouldn't coldly push away this woman, but the shadow mage surely wouldn't let her guard down either.

With Aliannah's return to the spot where she left her to make the sweater, she wondered where the now brunette had gone off to. Just like a normal ditzy blonde, she wandered off on her own without waiting. Whatever, she made her way back, so no wasted effort on the Sinisterre's part. A small present dangled from her finger which the cat girl accepted and held onto momentarily while she had listened to the fellow guild member dismiss the need to apologize. Jeez! Couldn't this dense muppet just take the apology so she could stop feeling slight guilt? Her eyes drew away from the present to the woman and peered over to her hair, then to her own. "Nya.. I wouldn't know what that's like. Dying your hair was vastly frowned upon in my family. I only have this tiny white bit of hair, but it's natural so I haven't had any issues with it." Her finger brushed the part of her hair in question from her face and shrugged.

Placing her free hand back to the present, Tabitha opened the present given to her to see a very pretty looking hair pin. Her eyes widened a little and a smile even snuck onto her face. "I-I don't know what to say, it's really pret-" She stopped, her attention focused on a flake of snow falling in front of her face, then another and another. Was it snowing? She looked up only to bring it back down to the blonde seeing she had a cloud over her head with snow falling down. "WHY IS IT SNOWING OVER YOUR HEAD!?" She panic screamed, pointing directly up to it.

Aliannah was looking with anticipation at the cat girl who was opening her preset. Hopefully she liked it. It would really be a shame if she didn't, she really didn't want to let the other down. Not that she could control it, some higher power would have to ensure that the present was worth giving. Thus her eyes glimmered with hope as Tabitha opened the present.

The initial reaction that she received was just as hoped. There was something attuned to joy and happiness on the face of the other as she opened the present. The brunette sighed in relieved, although it only lasted a moment before the cat girl was screaming again about some snow above her head.

The brunette, confused, looked up and received several snowflakes landing on her eyelashes and cheeks. Oh goodness, they were cold. Aliannah looked back at Tabitha with a confused look on her face but began to giggle and eventually laugh as she processed what had and was happening. Magic. Probably something with the gift that she gave the other, it was causing the small flurry above her head.

Her laugh echoed around her and the brunette smiled at the cat girl. "Magic. I think it has to do with the gift I gave you." The mage giggled again and wiped some tears from here eyes before they could freeze to the snowflakes landing on her face. "It probably summoned this small flurry! How cute! I wonder how long it'll last?" Aliannah held her hand out to catch some of the flakes. She wasn't upset at all. If anything she was giddy, this was something she would have never thought of, what a creative way to get in the mood for the holidays.

The female looked back to her guildmate and smiled brightly. "I'm up for hot chocolate while I have it snowing on me, what do you think? Up for a little hot cocoa and some window shopping before we retrieve the guild decorations and head back?" The brunette waited for a response, her hand reaching into her pocket to pull out her wallet and waving it around indicating that she would be paying for the treat.
