The Plague Pt. 2
He had received a letter from the same herbalist, it had been a week or so since the initial mission and Lester had travelled to the capital hitching a ride with a fast paced messenger acting as a bodyguard. The days he spent there had been calming, winter days in crocus with the food and energy of the city. Restocking on supplies, getting everything repaired and spending hours in a bath house keeping himself warm. The samples from the last mission had been mailed back to his grandmother in clover town so that she could put them in a state of frozen time until he had time to return home and experiment on them. Wandering closer to the familiar house a presence seemed to follow him, he had no problems with it, they did not attack him nor did he have anything to hide. Perhaps they were just a traveller following someone who seemed to know where they were going. Inner fur from his coat kept him warm from each frosty breeze, the wind coming face first in a freezing blister. He had been glad to get inside the herbalists home, listening with interest as she outlined her learnings, whilst he had not started research the harbalist had looked into an area he normally wouldn't. Ears perked his attention was focused onto her causing the youthful male to appear similar to a sunflower reaching to the sky in hopes of growing every taller under the suns nurturing gaze.
A slight scuffle, the sounds of a boot hitting a brick or similar object and a few scattered swear words muffled. The door closed softly behind him he had hopes of confronting whoever had been lurking outside when a dagger had swung towards him with the intentions of removing a limb. Eyes grew wide as he activated Forest' Gratitude, the bark shivered up from his skin to deflect the heavy blow before receding back. As soon as he had noted a shining blade the area was swamped in a petal storm, such a simple spell allowed him to hide away. Pushing back distance formed between him and the formed figure, a gulp formed in his throat as the herbalist was noted rushing to find authorities out the corner of his eye. Drawing his own blades he had a few minutes of time before the cloaked figure would be able to remove himself from the confusion of his floral display. A partial charge up, 3/4 at best the police or similar were coming and he knew it. A pained expression crossed over his ace as the shadowy human broke free of his initial spell. He had been forced to use it, not quite but to him it was necessary. Spiteful climbers burst out of the ground restricting the cloaked figure and damaging him slightly. A step back, a moments rest. Waving the guards Lester had moved forward to remove the bladed weapon whilst a small object had also slipped out. Stuffing it in a pocket the dagger handed over to the guards his view had raised up until the shapely herbalist had come into view. Shifting her weight, her brows drawn together and hands clasped she had approached him. Offering thanks and a bag of jewels he took a mild interest in the expression which played across her face, she had looked over at the stalker with disgust and vines of curiosity. With his jewel in hand Lester made a mention to the woman that he would be staying in the small local inn for a few days before the path where he had walked grew longer and he branched out towards an unexplored area.
