Die A Hero, Or Live Long Enough To See Yourself Become The Villain

Deeper and deeper down Famine led her prisoner down the steps and through a stone tunnel so deeply burrowed in the depths of the mountain that walking down the dungeon hall felt like wading through a pond that had been covered in ice. While the shadow make mage wouldn’t be surprised if Aioai was already trembling Famine, who could adventure down this mountain barefoot and not so much as think about frostbite, showed no discomfort. Her attitude wasn't the only reason she was referred to as ice cold.

The tunnel they entered, unlike the steps down, was lit by two or three torches that burned with an eerie green blaze on the mossy stone wall to their right. Famine’s eyes slanted to the left side of the corridor where they walked past rows and rows of emptied cells, that were littered with chains, and a mad on the floor. Much to Aioai’s horror there were some holding chambers in need of cleaning up the acidic scent of decay hit famine’s nose just as they strode past a cell where a stained tan sheet laid over the floor mat over top of a shape that could only be assumed to be a body that had been neglected to be disposed of.

They both stopped and her hold on Aioai’s chain stiffened as she nudged the iron gate open, and the hinges sprayed rust. Famine’s Shadow make shackles at her wrists would soon to be the least leading cause of her discomfort. Once in the cell she placed her hands at the blonde's shoulders forcing her to kneel down to the floor where Famine snapped the heavy silver cuff chained to the cobble stone floor around her throat. Since her time looking over the guild Famine had found that technology that had contained her in the Era prison for months was magnificent and she herself learned how to enchant restraints that not only totally nullified a mage's power but triggered an intense shock to them at the very idea of trying to use their magical abilities.

I would make yourself comfortable miss Nightstray.” Famine muttered, when she sat down cross legged on the ground right along side her, an arm resting on her knee and her chin in her hand. They would be here a while. What with so much to discuss and all….

Blind devotion, empty notions. Like a roaring ocean slowing motion, we'll merge into the masses. At once all race and classes. Return me to stardust, we'll burn ourselves to ashes, flare up in gleaming flashes 'cause smoke lingers after fire. Fading, breaking down, but we'll rendezvous at: the end, my friend and light. The darkness left behind. Return me to stardust.. Smoke lingers after fire. Lay down your troubled mind..>/div>
we'll kindly cease to be. As we intertwine with the universe;Return me to stardust.. Smoke lingers after fire
Composed. The spirit hadn’t murmured a sound nor made the movement to shift within her cuffs, let alone opposed the will of the female leading her—Fear found itself not with her, nor expressed on her lips. However. The smell of decay, one smell that she was more than useful caused her nose to wiggle and twitch much like that of a bunny, other than that, she seemed rather composed and expressionless. Gracing her twinkling cheek, the cold started to remind the spirit of the home she once had and those memories were gone from her reality. Maybe if she was human or obeyed the ruling of human, she would’ve found herself trembling, but she didn’t even pretend on those mannerisms…

Released to a narrow breathe, if breathing had ever been required in the first place. The familiar nature made as a weapon against her, had to be a product shadow make, she never experienced nor witnessed it before, and more than likely the wrong time to attempt to admit it. Nonetheless, if one had to pin the mood of the prisoner who seemed quite willing at the moment. It would’ve been secretly annoyed, but that wouldn’t have been true. She would’ve been neutral. Calm and not the least bit scared. Naive or brave? Or possibly, she had a plan? After all, why so calm? That would’ve been a thought to, a plan. However. That would’ve been wrong.

Tugging her into a cell, rather, guiding the spirit into the cell without any resistance on her part, she found a firm press against her shoulders and got the hint to move to her knees—A hefty cuff soon found itself pressed to her neck. One that held an enchantment that Aioai was no stranger too, but the second effect was a bit different. The moment Famine found herself locking the collar cuff to her neck. It happened and it happened quick.

Coursing through her body, a shock on par with her lightning treatment from Rune knights, started to undo what she did as a means to mask herself—Cracking much like paint left with extreme heat. Her clothes, hair, skin and even her visor turned black and was left shattering ebony lighting lacking out from the seams of the cracking, her whole figure left a victim to this effect—Becoming a hollow shell of herself. Within the next second. These shell molded into the figure known as Aioai, expelled into falling dance of black petals which fell into the floor, merging into her shadow and followed by the metallic sound her her visor hitting the floor and forming into her shadow—Revealing quite the new interesting being that was Nightstray.

Once ivory flesh, vanilla hair and black-worn clothing was revealed into being something the opposite. Snowy white strings held to a curly haired style, glittery ivory skin much like a star and a long dress with a scarf and headdress, along inhuman things such as ears like a bunny, black horns with a design and a fluffy tail much like a dog of some kind. Those once covered up eyes held themselves closed as she kept her knees, sitting on them with her hands on her thighs.

Her fingertips move to her left thigh and adjusted her dress to completely cover her left leg, a leg that seemed to be shadow like as it was black, something unique that she seemed to be hiding much like she did her form as this. With the display ending, the intense shock ceased too—The pain hasn’t been as bad as she didn’t fight it, she simply dispelled her human body.

Placing her hands cupped over eachother in her lap, she simply sat within perfect posture and head tilted downward without a single word to say.

Die A Hero, Or Live Long Enough To See Yourself Become The Villain

The abrupt transformation was...a surprise. Though, in a country surrounded by magic Famine’s expression was more amused than shocked. “What a cute pet you're going to be…” she instead teased. Then, her curiosity only grew greater about the strange mage.

Neglecting to respect any existing manners, Famine only leaned in closer to Aioai’s new shape.   Before the girl could completely mask her leg with the puffy white dress now clothing her Famine put a hand at the top of her thigh, wrist pressing the corner of the dress away. This guild master didn’t like to see her using her clothes and her hands to try to hide. There was no hiding a rabbit in a pit of vipers.

With her other hand, she looped a finger back around the shadowy chain connecting her shackled wrists close together. Famine pulled it up above the girl's head and against the wall behind them where she put one of the chain holes through a rusty hook that left her arms risen above her head.

“You hide so much, but none of that will do here. I like to know all of my basilisks… completely.” she charmed quietly before her hand knotted around the top edge of dresses skirt roughly and she gave it a hard yank. The sound of shredding threads echoed off the dense cell walls as Famine tossed aside the whole left side of the dress shed ripped off. “I don’t like secrets.” she murmured through pursed lips while dragging her hand down her now exposed leg which changed to ivory to ebony around her knees. She was curious about the new body she’d transformed yes, but this was more about making the girl feel shameful and powerless.

Azure optics widened as though with madness as the memory of magic binding ropes held her wrists and the cold steel of a switchblade sliced her blouse off of her, a voice above her spitting witty remarks just as she was. Famine realized that instance how much she’d become what she hated about the world. Along with the horror, she found, like the taste of blood in her mouth after a battle, that she had also found thrill.

    .

Shifting, Farming uncurled from where she sat and rose back to her feet, glaring down at the girl’s bound form a moment. “You’ve got a lot of explaining to do and you have neglected to say a word yet….” She stated simply to the girl, turning her eye to a furnace in the corner of the cell before padding over towards it.  Using the memory of a time maybe a few weeks ago the last time they’d used the furnace of this cell, Famine like reliving a rewinding tape watched the coals shift around the various spots gravity had rolled them the past few days, and then there was the fire that was fading but now that time was going the other direction it was growing rather than going out.

The witch, grabbing a narrow metal peg that she may recognize as a brand from the wall, turned to look over her shoulder at the chained Aioai. “Why don’t you start by telling me why you walked into this guild hall, what you expect to do here than maybe we can talk about...what you are.” She twirled the branding rod between her fingers, feeling the furnace in front of her warm. “Or you can choose to not talk at all and I’ll just  go pay Yuiisai a visit….” and by Famine’s definition of visiting it would be far from a pleasant chat with the shapeshifter

Exposing the leg which the spirit attempted to hide, dancing through the dreary cell halls, the sound of her ripped dress skirt echoed—Nothing short of violation defined how one would feel, however, Aioai wouldn’t allow such a honor. Wrists bound and rose, she found her arms forced to hang above her head as the chain that held them were looped to a hook. Biting her tongue, she had to keep herself and will in check. She held nothing short of her own composure, calm and hardened. Grinding her teeth was silent as she chewed on her own words, the urge to cry was strong, but she bared an expressionless face compared to that of a cold stone.

Internally, she felt sick and so tired; exhausted as it seemed everything repeated. Glistening in her memories, those times not that distant, but held like scars to her flesh and much like these familiar cells that were almost like a home away from home... Her body twitched at the memory. Those blows to her torso, those moments of relief and the months that was held there. Having a mage heal her as her body desired nothing more than to die, as another casted a thunderstorm upon her—They did a number and possibly, this is why the spirit hadn’t reacted in such a fearful way nor lashed out. No. There was more to it then something so simple.

Hues sealed shut, she found herself looking for an answer or a hope as she found herself comforted by a cold wall. She didn’t care of the lady didn’t like secrets, Aioai was not here to be known, submission and loyalty didn’t require knowledge nor understanding—It helped though. Holding her speech and breath for the questions or torture that awaited from her actions. Nonetheless, she was counting her words along with considering things, while showing her desire to be difficult as the serpent female uncurled and motioned her way to a furnace leaving the spirit to her chains. It seemed it was time for question and answer.

Opening her hues, those silvery-glittery orbs of hers peered directly at Famine who finally choose to break the ice with a question and even had a threat to add if she failed to choose to talk—One that the spirit spoke up to cut the lady off from saying. “You are hardly scary, quite beautiful compared to what I visualized.” She stated with her fluff of a voice held elegance and silkiness, however, she paused too for a second. Lifting her head to look up at the ceiling she carried on to speak. Without being directly insulting to the lady. “It was my last option. As my resolve is to serve. I am also called by what I am—a Perishee.” She added. Murmured, it seemed to be a lighthearted, however, she didn’t seemed disturbed and quite accepting with her situation. Glossing over with quite a bit of detail as well, such as a Perishee.

Nonetheless. It seems I have escaped one home of endless torture into another. she thought. Exhaling a sharp unneeded breath.

Die A Hero, Or Live Long Enough To See Yourself Become The Villain

Beautiful? The last person who had called her beautiful...well he was hardly something Famine wished to remember/ He got what was coming to him. Famine winced as the word left the little Perishee’s tongue as if the adjective itself was a hard slap. She could taste the blood in her mouth again. A sensation she referred to with thrill anymore and aggravation. It was that time that the slim brunette girl had bitten her attackers mouth. With bound hands, and the absence of mana in her veins it had been her only defense against the sloppy and forcible kisses he placed upon her. Her retaliation instilled rage, he forced her down again against the rough floor tile.... Told her that she was lucky that she was pretty but he only ever called her beautiful when he cut her out of her clothes.

Her fist clenched at her side around the rod and she felt the steel wand of the branding iron bite into her hands, now Famine tugged the rod out of the furnace. Narrow azure eyes looked at the hot glowing metal tip, eyes tracing the lines of the basilisk head insignia with great precision. Members of Basilisk Fang were members forever. Famine remembered her branding with a certain sadistic fondness. She felt freedom when he had burned away that damned guild mark from her neck that tied her to the fairies but it was over just as it was soon to be when Elijah pressed a burning molten touch against her bare back.

Famine remembered the man with the most devilish little smile her eyes had ever laid eyes on. With that grin, he said that he liked seeing the pain on her face and Famine realized she too sought out this feeling and chose to fight every urge to grimace in agony and laugh at others who did. The hype she felt when putting another person through that agony and knowing that it wasn't her was her release from the pain.

"Beautiful?" The mage spat out in a laugh eyes slitting and casting a dark gaze upon the ivory and elegant girl. The corner of her lip tugged up as she stepped up to her.  At least she said she would serve this guild despite the outburst. “A lot of people who run out of choices end up here. Were all very ugly." Famine simply said, darkness befalling her seemingly[/in tormented visage again. "This is the end of the road. There is nothing after Basilisk Fang. You must understand that. We stand up against everything really wrong with this land, A Council who allows mage to take on all these terrorism-fighting tasks like some disposable police force, all to what make up for their failure to keep their citizens safe from people like us.” She rambled and as one word came out another five seemed to line up in a queue.

“I’m not sorry, for whatever urged you to attack Yuii. Just know for the keeping of your life you will use that energy to destroy your foes, not your creed.” With that said Famine's grip on the brand grew rigid, another hand came to grab her scalp, yank her head up and expose the nice and unblemished skin of her throat. With a mere thrust of her arm, the glowing red steel was pressed up against the surface, there was a sound like sizzling grease and a scent like fried flesh.

Scream or no scream Famine tossed down the iron, ripping any flesh that stuck and burned against the brand away with it. “You can come out tomorrow, in the meantime begin to think of us here now as your peers. I’m not your enemy. I just act like it.” With that she paced out of the cell, iron doors slamming shut behind her with an echo before abandoning her to silence
