Megálos Aderfós Intro: A King Who Rejects His Crown

Oahu, the island home to the future guild hall of Golden Phoenix. It was a beautiful island with a beautiful city at its center and a large mountain which held the entrance to the guild. It was the first time Hero actually set foot on this place, though he did hear about it often from his cousin Elyx, since it was where the halls were going to be constructed. The giant had already arrived earlier in the day to check everything out. As an Ace of the guild, it was part of his duty to be acquainted with the guild's facilities after all. The entrance was heavily guarded by Phoenix birds which was an interesting and ironic touch by the young Guild Master. The guild itself was hidden deep under the island and the only way in was with a Golden Phoenix insignia.

At this point in time, Yamamoto was reading a book in a corner opposite the main double doors. In the main building was also a fellow member and Ace, Astrid. He had not met her yet, but he did know through letters with his cousin that she was a violin student of his. Hopefully at some point he would get to officially meet her as well. However, his thoughts were interrupted by an abrupt opening of the double doors. The giant wasn't startled but he tensed up thinking it might have been a threat, so he then stood up and darted through the room to a wall closer to the entrance. At that point the man also noticed that Elyx was in the building. The person whom arrived was a man of about six feet in height with a guild insignia on his right pectoral muscle. Hero relaxed then, knowing it was not a threat, and took a quiet breath. Upon closer look, the giant recognized him. His name was... ah yes. Megálos Aderfós, a rather boisterous man who did not seem to have a shred of humility.

That was not necessarily a bad thing though. Not everyone could be calm and collected after all. People like that were a necessary part of any treasure-hunting guild, or at least that was he was often told by his cousin. The new member introduced himself and then started a conversation with Astrid, which led to the introduction of a poetry game. Hero was not really interested so he kept his mouth shut and watched from a distance. He wondered if anyone noticed he was in the room. Would have been strange if they did not, considering he was the tallest person in the guild.

"You have an interesting way of writing about yourself, new person. And although it's kind of you to invite me to join in, I will have to decline. I am much better at listening than at speaking."

Hero was not interested in writing poetry. He was a musician and his primary form of expressing his "emotions" was through his instruments. The giant was not a fan of conversation in general either but that was easier to accomplish than making up some kind of poem. Now that he thought of it, this new person had not been here before. Did he even know about the available facilities here? Someone was going to have to take care of that, and he hoped he was not given that task. However, if he had to do it, he was not going to turn it down. It was not in Yamamoto's job description to tow around new members of the guild after all, though it was his duty as an Ace to assist any members if they are having any difficulties. After such thoughts ran through his head once, he leaned himself back against the wall and waited for someone to directly speak with him. He even thought about going over to speak with his cousin since he was around. Recently, the young Guild Master had been busy traveling or so he was told. The man was curious about the details, but he held off on interrogations for the time being.

Looking back over at the young Astrid Foss for a moment, Hero noticed that she was extremely shy. If only he had known about this sooner. Sure the giant was not charitable off the bat but if someone were to feel pressured by someone else's wishes but at the same time did not want to have to say anything, then of course the man would have stepped in. Come to think of it, one month ago Yamamoto likely never would have felt this way about someone he never actually met before. Proof that he had really changed a lot. Moments later, Elyx spoke to Hero as though to finish his own thought on the matter and he nodded once before walking over and speaking. Each of his steps echoed throughout the hall and his voice was calm but slightly commanding.

"You two. I'm tagging Astrid there out and taking her place in this game. It just so happens I have a poem ready in my head."

In only a few steps, the giant was already directly in front of Astrid when he nodded at her and gave her a thumb up that meant "good effort". With that, he darted over to a counter where there was paper and then darted back just as quickly while writing the poem at the same time. He didn't spend his free time reading literature for no reason after all.
