The King of Thieves (Job)

Mitsuo looked out towards the skyline over the vast desert. The red sun in the sky was falling down below the dunes of the Forgotten Desert, causing the temperature to drop along with it, something that Mitsuo had expected. He remembered the last time he had come here and how drastically the weather would change from night to day, bringing warmer clothes to wear over his light linens. He could feel the twin blades that were holstered at either side of his waist, something that he had recently started doing when he had obtained his latest weapon, which he had yet to test out fully. It was a large bastard sword that seemed to weigh nothing at all, though was still most comfortable to carry on the back.

He had been called this way to find a crate of stolen Lacrima, which was supposedly taken by a group calling themselves The Cartel. Mitsuo would keep his eyes opened to see if he could find any of these Cartel people, making sure that he wouldn't be taken by surprise at any point. Even if they did get the jump on him though, the Metallic God Slayer wasn't worried in the slightest, and he welcomed the challenge that they would bring him.

It felt strange for Mitsuo, his memory having lessened its grip on him as he had finally learned the secret to learning the God Slaying magic that he had chased for so long, and it was to give up his prior knowledge of magic. For a Memory Make wizard this was no small task and it took a great tole on the young Fairy Tail wizard, but he would eventually succeed in his mission and it shocked him how much it would change him. The majority of his anxieties were gone, mostly due to the fact that he couldn't remember why they existed in the first place. It was as though a chunk of his brain was rewritten and he had lost quite a bit. Most of his memories were hazy at best, which wasn't a terrible thing as there were many things he had wished that he could forget that were now nearly gone. He did somewhat miss being able to pull up perfect images of his parents...

His eyes stayed sharp as he made his way across the desert, spotting what looked like a small enclave where he imagined they would be hiding, or at least where he hoped they would be hiding. It looked like he was going to make good time but he also knew that it could never really be that easy. He was keeping an eye out as best as he could in this storm, feeling the sand hitting his skin and nearly laughing at the fact that it seemed to barely even register as hitting his hardened skin. He smirked and continued forward, seeing shadows in the distance and preparing himself to meet his foe for the first time...

'Monster Dice' :

He approached where he saw the figures and noticed the massive ruined city, which he imagined was once even larger as this had been buried in sand over centuries of abandonment, though it was no longer abandoned. As he eyed the tops of what he imagined were once large and impressive buildings he could see the Cartel members in their desert getups guarding different areas, or otherwise doing general work around the area. He could see carts being taken deeper into the city and he walked towards where those were. As he moved forward he saw one of them fairly close to him, looking right at him with his arms crossed across his chest. Mitsuo smiled a crooked half smile as he approached the close figure.

"Excuse me. You wouldn't happen to know where I could obtain some lacrima crystals, would you?" Mitsuo said to the clearly somewhat confused man standing in front of him. The man eyed him up and down before speaking.

"You shouldn't be here. You need to leave. This is your only warning." His voice was serious enough, sounding a little dark. Mitsuo could feel great power inside of this man, but it wasn't just him he was feeling the power from. There were four other powerful people around him, Mitsuo was having a difficult time pinpointing where exactly they were over the wind, though.

"I'm not leaving until I get what I came for," Mitsuo drew the Blade of Atlas, energy surging through the impossibly light blade as he pointed it towards his opponent's toes in a fool's guard and waited for him to advance, attempting to keep an ear out for the others around him.

The man in front of Mitsuo pulled out what looked and smelled like a steel bo-staff, something that caused the smile in Mitsuo's face to stretch. Perfect, they brought him a meal. As he watched the man he began to twirl the staff and it looked as though it caught fire before his very eye, the sand raising from the ground as a gust of wind brought it up in front of him in a whirlwind. Mitsuo knew that whatever they were planning couldn't be good, and he pointed his sword down towards the ground, holding it and channeling his power into the sword. The sandstorm grew worse in front of the wizard and Mitsuo could feel the others mimicing what the first was doing. He watched as their plan came to fruition, the spinning sand being launched forward and infusing with the flame that was on the staff to create tiny shards of glass, which would have easily shredded through a normal man. Mitsuo pressed the sword down into the ground and shouted "Weight of Atlas!" as the gravity in the area around him was increased, causing the glass shards to hit the ground instantly and the wizards around him to not be able to move. He rushed up towards the first one, bringing his blade up first into the man's left armpit and then down towards the other side into his right shoulder, severing his arms from his body. The wizard screamed out and collapsed to the ground, Mitsuo collecting his staff and attaching it to his back where his sword would normally be.

The other four were no longer being effected by his sword's ability and two of them charged at him while the other two began casting, one of them coating the rusher's with fire and the other with wind, increasing the intensity of the blaze. Mitsuo could feel the heat from here, watching as the sand beneath their feet and in the air turned to glass as they came near him. He didn't like the looks of this, but he knew that he had to figure out a way to beat them...

The two rushed towards him, staves drawn and blazing flames surrounding them. Mitsuo had to try to isolate them, otherwise it wouldn't go very well for him. He wasn't immune to fire, and he knew that if it got hot enough it could melt his steel, though it would still be extremely difficult. He jumped back, sheathing his blade and put his right fist into his left hand, yelling out "God Slayer Art: Steel Armour of Kanayago!" as his entire body was coated in steel, the grin returning to his face as he once again pulled the blade from its resting place. The two men seemed a tad surprised, but they still ran up to attack him, their weapons easily deflecting off of his armour. He brought the sword up to blast one of the staves into the air, smashing the pommel into the face of the wizard who's staff had just gone flying and then swinging a metallic leg to catch the other one in the shin, hearing a crunching noise as the wizard collapsed to the ground.

The first one, broken nose and all, moved up and used the wind infused fire on his fists to strike Mitsuo, the crunch of a breaking hand audible over the wind though Mitsuo did feel the heat on his armour, noting that he was "sweating", which he knew wasn't actually sweat. He saw the staff falling back down and he caught it in one hand, striking the man with the butt end of the staff directly in his already very broken nose twice, the first causing a nasty scream while the second caused the screaming to cease, the man falling unconscious. As he looked towards the two wizards at the back he smirked, taking a large bite out of the staff and chewing it up before swallowing it down, feeling his energy coming back to him and watching the shock on the enemies faces as they realized just what he was.

"You sure you still want to fight me? I wouldn't be mad if you ran." His voice was serious, the two men who were casting beginning to cast different spells as Mitsuo began to move towards them, roundhouse kicking the one with the broken shin into the side of the head and knocking him out on his way past.

The first of the two began firing fireballs off at Mitsuo, several of them hitting him in the chest or shoulders as he advanced towards them, shrugging them off for the most part, though he did know that he had to be careful, and that eventually those attacks could kill him. He had finished eating the staff, feeling re-energized as he got close to them and sheathed his sword, putting his hands to his mouth and screaming out "Metal Slayer's SCREAM", a jet of metallic shards launching themselves at the wizards and slicing through their clothing and skin, causing many small cuts to form all over their bodies. He had hit the fire wizard directly, the other managing to avoid the majority of the attack. He rushed up and elbowed the fire wizard with his right elbow into his chest, while his left leg took out his legs, causing him to painfully crash into the sand, getting it into all of his cuts as he made nasty noises from the pain. Mitsuo gave him another swift kick to the side of the head in order to make the pained noises stop, knocking the man out cold as he moved on the final wizard, who threw a razor sharp wind blade at him, managing to crack his armor on his left arm and cause him to bleed.

"So you are human after all," the wizard said smugly as he began firing more and more windblades towards Mitsuo, the god slayer having to quickly dodge the attacks that actually managed to damage him. When he got close he placed his hands in front of him, yelling out "Song of the Iron Maiden!" as steel blades rotated around his fists, moving in to throw a punch at the wizard with his left, which was blocked by the bo staff, though the right hand managed to connect on a backhand punch, slicing the man's face up. He was really angry and hurt now, Mitsuo could see a fire in his good eye, the other quite useless at the moment as the metallic shards had wrecked it. He was impressed that the man was still standing, and couldn't help but wonder if he had anymore tricks up his sleeve.

He could see the wizard casting and a large sin blade of wind coming in close to Mitsuo, causing him to have to dodge just in time. He did take damage from the attack, the blade slicing his side and causing him to have another crack in his armor. The sword on Mitsuo's back came out once more in a quick slice, severing his right arm from his body before stabbing into his abdomen, clear that the man wasn't going to give up the fight. As the sword pierced through his stomack and out through his back, Mitsuo pulled it up into his ribs making sure that the damage was irreversible, pulling the sword free as the dying raider collapsed to the ground. Mitsuo took his bo staff and strapped it to his back, along with the other three that were still on the sand. He made his way towards the sunken village, knowing that the was going to meet resistance inside, and hoping that the staves of their companions may stop deter them from coming after them.

He walked through the gates to the "compound" village and began to try to find where the people who were carting the massive crates had gone, missing his memory magic right now, though also knowing that he was never able to be nearly this powerful before.

When he rounded the corner towards where he was pretty sure the cart had gone, he saw a small group of people who seemed somewhat out of place. He imagined that they were new, as they all looked exhausted from the heat. He walked up towards them, blood dripping from his sword and from a couple of wounds on his body, the armor now gone as he looked towards them. They looked at him, seeing the staves of their superiors on his back as he pulled one of them out, eating it in front of them. The wounds on his body seemed to get a little better and he smiled as he finished off the meal. They looked shocked as he was sure they had heard stories of the people who were known as slayers who could eat elements to power up.

"You know kids," he looked towards the clearly frightened people, not overly trying to look intimidating but assuming that he did. "I just beat four of the strong wizards from this organization to death's door, and I'm assuming the fifth is dead, because they weren't smart enough to help me find what I was looking for. If you were smart, you would tell me where the Lacrima crystals that were stolen are, and then you'd probably leave this place and never return, since this is a horrible job and the hazards simply aren't worth it." They all looked at each other, dropping their weapons and pointing towards a large storage looking area in the distance before running past him and leaving the compound. He chuckled to himself and made his way into the direction that they had sent him in, his sword in hand as he moved along, knowing now that he might be able to scare off some of the people who were in here...

'Monster Dice' :

He made his way towards his goal, encountering more groups of recruits along his way, and scaring most of them off fairly easily. He got the occasional group of them who would stand up to him, but it generally only took him taking down one or two of them for them to back off and run away. He was a blur of steel as he walked his way down the alleyway towards the warehouse, cutting down recruits when they stood up to him, not killing them but making it so that they would leave as well. He wasn't one to kill unless it was absolutely necessary, but he had no issues with hurting people to get a point across. The weak enemies rushed past him as he pressed forward, not wanting to have to continue to harm them.

As he came up to the warehouse, he noticed that it was the top of an old building, a lock on the door. He chuckled as locks weren't an issue for him, using his Metal Mold ability to change his finger essentially into putty and then place it into the keyhole. His finger then solidified into the shape of the key needed so that the door was able to unlock and open. He pulled his finger out once it was unlocked and pressed the door opened, walking in to see what would wait him there...

'Monster Dice' :

He made his way through the door, several people standing inside and guarding what looked like a large lift that went down. Seeing the size of the lift, and noting the fact that it existed, helped to solidify Mitsuo's assumption that the buildings in this town were actually quite large. The recruits were pulling their weapons and Mitsuo sighed softly. "Look, I'm really getting tired of fighting you guys, you can't possibly think you can win. Why don't you just let me onto the lift, and leave me alone. That was I don't have to kill people who don't know how to fight, and you can leave and live another day?" They didn't seem as scared as the ones who had been there before.

"There's five of us Fairy, and only one of you. Do you really think you can beat us all?" He was clearly an idiot, the likes of which Mitsuo had no time for. He sighed and put the tip of his sword to the ground, increasing the gravity in the room around him, and causing each of the weaker enemies to fall to the ground as he then brought one of his other swords out and spun in a circle, slicing each of them in the backs of the knees and causing them all to be unable to stand anymore. "You should have listened to me," he commented as he rolled his eyes and moved towards the lift, the one who was guarding that shaking as he hadn't rushed at him.

"G-going down?" he asked as Mitsuo got onto the lift and he pulled the lever, starting to have him move down.

'Monster Dice' :

When the lift landed there was a small welcoming party waiting for him, Mitsuo not overly surprised by this, but also somewhat disappointed that these people just kept on coming. He could also only assume that he was closer to finding out where the Lacrima Crystals were, but he really had no idea. The ten of them at the bottom floor all had swords drawn as though they were expecting him, he smiled and pulled out his bastard sword in his right hand and one of his other blades in his left. "You know there's no point in fighting me, just because there's ten of you doesn't mean you're anything near my level." They didn't seem fazed, nor did they back down. Mitsuo liked that, he could appreciate a strong willed opponent. He also assumed that they thought their superior numbers would help them.

When he landed they charged him from all sides, a flurry of blades coming from all directions. He was in constant motion, blocking and parrying them but never able to gain an advantage. After a while they began to nick him, his stamina wavering as he decided to cast his Blades of Valhalla ability, causing short sword length steel blades to form on his elbows. Every time he blocked with a sword he would strike with an elbow, taking one in the shoulder and another in the side, the two of them bowing out and lowering the number. He would continue to hammer away at them until their numbers would continue to wane, eventually getting to the point where there were only five of them left fighting him. He would spin and slash all of them, the last two able to block it but the first three taking slashes to their bellies that would cause their entrails to become their outrails, stumbling backwards and collapsing onto the ground as the ones on the outside looked on in horror, holding wounds and moving back in to get another wack at him for taking down their friends. They were pretty brave, Mitsuo thought, or more likely very foolish...

They kept coming and he was a little impressed, his blades continuing to cut them down. His spell had worn off, but now that the number had become more manageable he didn't have an issue without them. His swords were more than enough as he continued to dance the dance of death, each block followed up by a strike and each blade moving fluidly as one to cause the most damage while also giving him the best protection. It was impossible to block every strike, but he certainly blocked most of them, several small wounds beginning to bleed out of him. He dropped a fourth, fifth and sixth with perfectly aimed thrusts, taking them out of the action and seven and eight with pommel smashes to their faces, knocking both of them unconscious fairly easily. When he was down to the last two he kicked the legs out from underneath one of them while he thrusted into the stomach of the other, causing him to fall over bleeding onto the ground, his friend falling on top of him as he kicked him in the side of the head.

He took each of their swords in turn and ate them, the steel fully restoring his magic and making him feel as though he was more powerful than he had been before. He went into the next room with a fire in his heart and he could feel the god slayer power rising up inside of him, begging him to unleash it on his opponent.

The next room held much of the same for Mitsuo, ten more swordsmen that he would have to deal with. He rushed through them quickly, taking out the group of them as quickly as he could, killing off two of them in a single strike as their throats opened wide open. He would then bring the sword up and down to cleave another enemy in twain, the bloodshed making his stomach feel sick, though he knew there was nothing else he could do. They wouldn't run away, and as they kept coming at him he would keep dispatching them one at a time, swinging with one of the twin blades and with his Blade of Atlas for a perfect one two killing strike with a throat slash and stab to the heart. He got the room down to four before they surrounded him and attacked, managing to strike his left shoulder once more, but the Metallic God Slayer didn't flinch, his entire body covered in a dark energy as he fought.

They couldn't stand up to the angered god slayer, their bodies piling up in front of him as he unleashed his rage on them. When he was finished he stepped on the pile of bodies on his way towards the next room, blood soaking him head to toe and gore dripping from his weapons as he did so. He felt as he went on that his frustration was going to overwhelm him, and he truly didn't want for that to happen, hoping that he would find his goal soon...

'Monster Dice' :

The doors opened and Mitsuo entered the room, dripping blood and gore behind him as he did. This room was very large, and Mitsuo could see across the room that it was where the massive crates were being stored. He moved towards them, dark energy permeating from his body as he did so, and heard a voice come from beside him, stopping him in his tracks. "Not so fast, Fairy Slayer." He looked over and saw another bandit, dressed in the same clothing as the others, but covered in jewels and gold, sparkling in the torchlight of the cavern. "You're not getting anywhere with our crystals, unless you want to pay us for them." Mitsuo turned to face the man, who was clearly the leader of these bandits.

"What is your price? What do you expect me to pay for these?" He clutched his blades tightly in his hands, gritting his teeth. His trademark smile had faded long ago after killing so many men on his way here. He was sure that he looked intimidating, but the man in front of him didn't look phased, Mitsuo having respect for his bravery, but at the same time not in the mood to play around.

"I'll sell them to you for one hundred thousand jewels, which seems perfectly fair. They are worth a lot of money, and I think that is more than a good deal." The man held a pair of gorgeous scimitars in his hands, the likes of which Mitsuo had never seen. He didn't know what the metals were that made it up, but he wanted a taste of their power. Mitsuo began to allow the power to take him over, his body being half covered in blackened steel as he did so. He was at his most powerful right now, all of the steel that this man's comrades had fed him bringing him way beyond his limit.

"If you think that's going to happen you're barking mad." His voice was serious now, no hint of playfulness like he usually had left showing. "You're dealing with the Metallic God Slayer, and you don't stand a chance against me punk." The Bendit King charged up and launched several attacks at once, Mitsuo having to try to use all of his speed to avoid them...

'Block Dice' :

Before Mitsuo had a chance to react, two slashes of energy had his him, slicing him as he narrowly avoided the other two that had pulsed out towards him. He couldn't see the attacks, but he could feel them, and he knew that they were no joke. He gritted his teeth, impressed with the quick attack of the King of the Thieves. He put his swords away and slammed his fists together, casting his Armour spell once again and coating himself in steel so that he would be ready for the next attack. He ran towards his opponent, also casting his "Wings of Valhalla" as blades appeared on his elbows before drawing his weapons once again. He became a flurry of steel as he lashed out with elbows, swords and feet, most of his attacks being blocked by the impressive swords of his opponent, though the odd one got through, one to his right bicep, causing his arm to drop slightly, one to his left side opening up a deep bleeding wound, and another towards his left thigh, causing some bleeding as well. He would kick and slice and stab his way into his opponent, the damage he was doing severely augmented due to his current form, something he had never entered before. It was exhilarating.

His opponent was no joke either, his swords just as quick as Mitsuo's, which impressed the young God Slayer, as he had rarely seen anyone keep up with him when it came to fighting with a blade. He landed a solid kick on Mitsuo, able to move him back a little but bot probably hurting his foot a lot more than he had hurt Mitsuo, which caused a smirk from the god slayer. "You seriously screwed up. You should have given up when you had the chance..." He channeled some of his magical power into healing his body as he prepared for another pass at his foe.

'Block Dice' :

This time when the waves came he was ready, jumping over and through them and then landing back on the ground. He looked towards where his opponent had been standing, and noticed that he was gone, hearing the slashing of a blade through air behind him as he turned to block, his Blade of Atlas narrowly stopping the ornate scimitars from connecting with him. He booted the man in the sternum, causing a large heavy breath to escape his mouth and the crunching of what Mitsuo imagined were a few of his ribs. He dropped his guard a bit and Mitsuo sent a slash at him, causing a deep gash down his cheek before lifting the greatsword above his head, the enemy taking the opportunity to swing at Mitsuo with his Scimitars. He wasn't quite quick enough as Mitsuo had activated his Bladebreaker ability on his sword, the gravity around the blade increasing to an amazing level as it came down and smashed clean through one of the ornate blades, the majority of the blade separating from the rest of the sword and clattering along the ground.

The bandit king looked shocked as his sword bounced along, Mitsuo connecting with another fist and then casting his Lance of Hephaestus ability, piercing through the man's left shoulder and causing him to drop the broken blade's hilt. He hissed out a Mitsuo, coming in with a low shot to the left thigh on Mitsuo, which he blocked most of, but it still partially connected, leaving a nice gash in the slayer's leg. He gritted his teeth and jumped back away from the blade, preparing to go in for another round and try to finish this quickly. "Running away Little Fairy?" The Bandit King was still so cocky despite the hits that he had taken, something which Mitsuo would have to fix.
