Jungle book?

Apollo was back on a job for Emerald grass village. As he walked to the village he looked back at his partner he had this time. it was rare that he had someone with him and rather refreshing. While he didn't know much about him. There travels so far were quiet but there was something about him. He had asked him to help him with this job for two reasons. First His shield magic could only get him so far, and two he figured getting some real experience would be helpful all together. As they walked Apollo felt it was time to break the silence. "Hey there you ready for this?" Apollo asked but then realized how stupid that question was and gave a sigh. Perhaps he was trying to hard but he didn't know. As they walked he waited for his answer and wondered why he jumped on his offer to do the job with him. Was he wanting real experience or something different. either way it didn't matter to much to Apollo.

As they got closer to the village Apollo looked over at his partner and sighed. He had to find a way to break the ice so to speak. He couldn't take the silence anymore it was starting to drive him a little crazy on the inside. "So mind telling me how your magic works perhaps?" This time being a more legitimate question. Apollo didn't know much about this guy other then seeing him around the guild hall. Apollo waited for him to answer hoping he used more offensive magic or something of that nature. Apollo had offensive shields but they weren't anything to special. Plus most of them had prerequisites that had to be met. Regardless he would make sure to have there magic work out. Though he wasn't sure how yet.

Shinra recalled how he was asked to join Apollo in a job. Usually Shinra would refused but he decided that he would need to try this so called "team work". Shinra took off his glasses and slipped them into his inner suit pocket. He brushed his lengthy silvery hair to the side. With a small smile he nodded. "Yes...I'm ready...." Shinra had decided to go with a more laid back persona, he didn't want to create any tension between the new acquaintance just yet. Shinra remained quiet his lips sealed, wondering what kind of enemies lay ahead. It had been awhile since he had engaged in battle. Shinra had only taken small part time jobs, he had just made enough to buy some food and other necessities to live as human being.

Shinra realized that they where close to the village when he heard Apollo ask a question. Shinra stroked his chin as if pondering for a moment. "My magic?.....Well I had just regained my magical power.....I currently have four spells.......one defensive, one offensive, another for utility, and one for defensive and offensive.....you can say my primary element is fire mixed in with ice......honestly it's quite complicated....it would be better to show you when an enemy comes...." replied Shinra polietly as he stepped close to a tree. He then took his fist and punched the tree's trunk. The medium sized tree shook and a few leaves fell down, Shinra would then snatch 6 leaves before the hit the ground. He then placed the leaves in one of his pockets. He turned to Apollo as if nothing had happened.

"Master Apollo...do you have any weapons on you?" inquired Shinra as he continued to walk towards him. Shinra would then stop about a 3 meters away and look to the village. "Ah one more thing before you answer...I apologize if I slow you down a bit...I'm only a low ranked mage.....I'll do my best to help you Master Apollo." Shinra once again smiled warmly as he awaited Apollos response.

Apollo smiled as he at least told him somethings about his magic. "Well when the time comes we'll figure it out. I specialize in defensive magic. Honestly I think I have one offensive spell and the rest are primarily defensive. though some of my shields have varying effects depending on what happens to them some of them can pack quite a punch all things considered." Apollo realized he was rambling a little. "oh sorry um you'll see first hand we we fight but i'll do my best to lend a hand" He smiles a little more. He then see's him put a tree and collect the leaves. he was amazed he was strong enough to do that.

Apollo then heard him mention about slowing him down then shrugged. "We go as fast as we can go since we are Fairy Tail wizards we'll get it done." He said nodding. "Low ranking or not it's my job as a higher ranking to help you so let's work together and finish this alright and we are equals here alright" He nodded at him.

He then slowly pulled out his weapon. Apollo nodded and smiled as he reached inside his suit coat and pulled out his black six shooter revolver with chess symbols printed on the cylinder. "Yeah this is my second most prized possession I own item wise at least" he smiled holding it out a little keeping the barrel point to the ground. "It's my pistol named check mate, it doesn't require reloading and when you spin the barrel you can call out a mode and you attain the quality's of that mode so this pistol gives me six boosts that can really aid me in combat. The pawn is standard mode, knight increases mobility, rook is power, queen is accuracy, bishop heals, and the king represents them all as a whole." He smiles proudly looking down at it remembering getting it for the first time and what he went through to get it but that was for another time.

Apollo sighed then realized he was rambling again. Sorry for talking so much but this is really something for me no one but heero and night has really took interest in anything I do so I like explaining myself. Then he smiled "Well let's get going we are almost there after all" he said waving him onward as they walked into the village. He couldn't place it but he didn't feel worried like with most new people. inside the village there was a rather large party going on in the middle Apollo looked over at shinara wondering his thoughts

Shinra intermediately began noting all of Apollo's weapons abilities. Shinra began to come up with quick strategies and plots just in case they had to engage enemies. Shinra put his hands in his pockets, his fingers rubbing the leaves feeling it's texture. He inhaled the untainted air, this place was nice. It was a place where Shinra could easily meditate and control the legions of spirits that rest within his body.

"It's quite weapon you have there....quite a weapon indeed....it's versatility is quite admiral.....I definitely wouldn't want to be in it's line of fire....hahahaha" Shinra chuckled as he admired the weapon as if it was a fine piece of art. He didn't mind that his comrade had rambled, the more information the better.....Shinra knew it would be important to learn as much as he can, he knew that today's ally could be tomorrows enemy. despite Shinra's polite and yet aloof exterior, he was always vigilant and on guard.

"No..No..no need to worry Master Apollo...I too have a habit of rambling myself......besides it's good to know what your comrades can do and cannot do......having reliable information greatly reduces casualties in battle....." smiled Shinra as he gave a small nod of approval.

"Ah before we continue on...I have warning....I ave a spell...it's called Spirit barrier.....please be sure to stay away from it....unfortunately I cannot use it to protect you. It'll do some damage...but I don't think it'll hurt that much after all you are a higher ranked mage." Shinra quickly gave a quick tip about one of his spells.

"Now...shall we get going?" inquired Shinra as he put on a more serious face clearly ready to finish the mission.

Apollo was happy he approved of his abilities and was confident he would prove a little more useful then he claims. Regardless he then heard him warn him about the spell spirit barrier. and how it might hurt Apollo. Thanks for the heads up i'll keep that in mind when you are using it but how about for now we keep going." he nodded. He saw him get much more serious out of what seemed to be nowhere. Apollo could tell he was ready to do the job and he was as well. He hoped that he could protect them both during this the last thing he needed was another lose on his hands. The thought scared him a little but then shook his head he was here to keep him safe and that's what he is gonna do.

As they walk in the smell of partying was in the air. there were people dancing and cheering all about. Apollo could smell miracle weed in the air mixed with some form of alcohol he couldn't identify. As he walked in with him he approached someone.

"Um exuess me sir?" Apollo said tapping the man on his shoulder. The man turned smiling and still dancing. "Ya man you here to celebrate with us?" he said cheerfully. "What are you celebrating?" Apollo inquired curiously. "Why another fine day here" Apollo sighed a little. Um no sorry we here regarding a missing book. He laughs a little obviously on a high "Oh yeah man go over speak to our leader he knows" he spins in a circle then points to a small hut. "He is in there man have fun" he starts partying again. Apollo looks over at shinira "These guy's must be part fairy tail if they party this hard..." he said half as a joke but a little annoyed since he could barley have a conversation in this place plus the air here was thick here. as they approached the hut. "After you" He nodded.

Shinra walked side by side with Apollo. As soon as he entered the village he had a wiff of the exotic herbs that burned ever so sweetly, creating a think atmosphere of pleasure and simple bliss. Shira couldn't help but grin, this so called miracle weed may prove to be quite useful in the long run, perhaps with a few experiments and test Shinra would be able to unlock some medical capabilities of the herb. The wild party mad Shinra feel quite uncomfortable but he didn't show it, he managed to calm himself and continue on his way. The wild party really did remind him of the ever so lively Fairy Tail guild. Shinra let out an inaudible sigh, he kind of wanted to be back the library there where still so many books he had to read and look over. But Shinra knew he was a bit low on cash, and desperately needed to train himself in field. It had been only recently since his magical power had awakened, he had a a feeling he was getting a bit rusty.

"Party huh..I usually spend my time in the guilds library...I seldom come to the taven...I do however her a few thuds here and there...I assume it's our guild mates brawling out or stumbling due to their intoxication..." replied Shinra as he began walking towards the direction they where pointed towards. His mind began wandering elsewhere, he continued to think of the possible situations that may have led to this predicament. There was a high chance that some treasure hunter or a dark guild was involved. Regardless, whoever oh whatever they where going to go up against, Shinra was ready take it head on.

Shinra entered first and waited for Apollo to come in. "Greetings....I am Shinra....and this is this is my comrade Apollo....we're mages of fairy tail...we received a report of a missing book of some sort....can you please brief us in the current situation...any information will help in our investigation and retrieval of the book." Shinra immediately dove into business as soon as Apollo walked into the hut, Shinra wasn't about to beat around the bush. The spirits in his body began to resonate whispering of an ill omen to come.

Apollo nodded respecting the fact that he spent so much time studying. Apollo enjoyed the library just as much. Reading was easily one of his favorite pass times. The fact remind though that he wasn't to far off about what happen upstairs. He would probably spend more time in the library if he wasn't constantly breaking. He could tell he was focused on the job at hand and he was to but he knew very little about what they were up against. Apollo didn't like that a if it was a dark guild t could spell trouble easily but they would have to wait and find out.

As they walked in and Shinra introduced them and inquired about the missing book. He wasted no time on anything Apollo could tell he was focused on what he was doing. Apollo then walked over nodding "Yeah anything you can tell would be helpful" he agreed. The clan master looked at them both. "Yo are to serious man take a moment and relax" He smiled taking a sip of some beverage from his cup. Apollo shook his head a little. "Listen we heard this book was very dangerous in the wrong hands please take this seriously" Apollo said looking at the chief. The chief shook his head at Apollo a little.

he Chief shook his head. "Yes it tis very dangerous man but if you worry to much then you can't think clearly, a local Dark Guild stole it from us and left northward with it. We would like it back not only for safety but it is our prize possession" Apollo nodded then looked at Shinra "Anything you wanna ask otherwise we should go into the woods we might find more clues there" Apollo looked at him waiting for a response. He could tell he was absorbing what little he was just told but regardless it was more then what they had.

Shinra nodded and began taking metal notes. "North seemed to be the direction where the culprits where heading.... Why? There was nothing more than wilderness out there, nothing but trees and wild animals. It would take an incredibly talented navigator in tuned with nature to navigate through the forest...or perhaps someone who had very powerful navigation magic....if the opponents had a higher amounts of magic...it would be likely that the natives would have sensed the magical power........they must have sent in a a lower ranked mage or perhaps someone who has little to no magical abilities in order to infiltrate the village.....I'm not saying that the guards of this village are incompetent....but they must have waited when the festivities had grown more lively......and while the guards where distracted they simply slipped by.........this is a risky mission....sending in fodder to retrieve the prize....." Shinra's eyes narrowed as he began talking to himself. He let out a slight sight, and began to recall basic military protocols.....Then an idea hits. Shinra snapped his fingers due to his sudden enlightenment.

"Master Apollo....we need to get going...now......" replied Shinra as he quickly exited the hut. As soon as he emerged out of the shaggy hut he began to explain his hypothesis to Apollo. "This isn't looking to good for us, comrade.....I have an idea of whats going on here.......they must of sent in a weak mage or someone who posses no magical power to infiltrate this village...quite possibly a master thief of some sorts.....generally with just one person....it would make this mission impossible......but I know the culprits aren't acting alone.....it's a highly likely that the thief was in a small squad.....now... that same squad is probably meeting up with reinforcements at a rendezvou point.......they will then secure the package and await for pick up.......the forest is too thick and difficult to navigate on land using a normal land based vehicle....An air ship of some sort would be a dead give away, so extraction by air is highly unlikely.... the package is most likely going to be transferred to someone capable of taking the package and smuggling back to civilization......judging by my calculations....the smuggler may be quite difficult to deal with so we best prepare ourselves......there numbers are most probably low...if they had anymore people the infiltration would have failed......now lets get going and attempt intercept them before the meet up smuggler..." This was one thing Shinra was good at, though he hated he had a talent for war. Infiltration, search and destroy, guerllia warefare or leading an army......Shinra was tactician at heart, though he may lack some brawn his ever calculating brain would always be on over drive like a mad machine pumping out ideas, tactics, and ploys.

Apollo listened to shinra as they walked out. He noticed how much thought was put into this and that made him happy. It was good to know he wasn't the only one in the guild you would rather think about how to do thing then just resort to brute force. He nodded after he finished talking coming to a simlaire conclusion. "Yeah I a agree completely let's get going" he said as he walked towards a less dense part of the forest He then went in as shinra followed him. Apollo started to make his way into the forest.

The forest was not as thick in this part but he still managed to get threw it with some ease. He wondered just how powerful this book was. It was obviously something worth stealing but what could it do. He remembers something about it controlling animals but it was still a mystery over all. With that kind of magic though you could easily over throw small villages and city. then he though more about what Shinra said. "A non mage spy...." he said to himself then stopped seeing foot prints on the ground.

Apollo pulled Check mate out. He walked over to the foot prints. They weren't human prints but there were broken twigs around. He then looked back at Shnira. "We are in there turf now if they have a grasp on how to that book we are at a real disadvantage..." He said then he heard a very light snap in the distance. some one coming and they were here. He spun checkmate "Promotion to knight! Heads up!" he said then dashing with a new burst of speed moving Shinra out of the way as something jumped out at them. He wasn't sure if he noticed or not but he figured it was better to be safe anyway, he then let him go and stood next to him. Apollo looked back to see what it was.

Shinra and Apollo dodged just in time to avoid the enemy attack. Shinra dusted off his coat and without a word dashed towards to the enemy. The enemy mage started to spark and in matter of seconds the enemy fired a bot of lightning directly at Shinra. Just before the lightning could be shot out, Shinra activated his magic. Shinra's body caught on fire, his skin and flesh began to burn away. The liquid of his eyes began to evaporate, his clothes burned leaving nothing but an ash black over coat. Shinra had entered his Death Rider form. The enemy was then 4 meters away from Shinra.

Shinra then activated his spell Death Strider spell. His body burst into an even intense flame and vanished, unseen by the eyes of Apollo and the enemy. The bolt of lightning phased right through Shinra causing to to his a near by tree the, burst into flames. Shinra continued forward, as soon as he passed five meters, he reappeared right in front of the enemy. Shinra snapped his fingers and summoned his spirit barrier about three meters behind the enemy, the swirling spirits screamed a blood curdling sound of pain and suffering, this startled the enemy causing him to look back at the swirling malestorm of evil spirits that formed Shinra's spirit barrier. Shinra then activated a third spell, Death riders fist. Shinra's fists burst into an even brighter flame. With a single blow to the chest Shinra struck the enemy, the spirits swirled and burst causing a small explosion the size of volley ball. The enemy mage was launched straight into the spirit barrier. Shinra now had four Death Tokens. While the enemy struggled and was damaged by the spirit barrier, Shinra took out the three leaves from earlier and activated a fourth spell, Death Riders Touch. The leaves caught on fire but it did not turn to dust, instead it turned charcoal black clad in a ghostly flame. Shinra than scarified three Death Tokens and integrated a spirit into each leaf. The leaves flew out of Shinras hand traveling about 5 meters a second, they all impaled themselves into the enemy mage. The leaves burst through the enemy mages body as they priced his vital organs. The leaves returned to Shinra's side awaiting for his next command. Shinra looked at the dying enemy mage as his ruptured organs began spilling out of his body as he lay on the ground choking on his own blood.

"......Up ahead....I think there is something up ahead..." Shinra's skeletal jaw opened ever so slightly as he spoke. His voice was mixed in together with other voices of the spirits in his body. He turned to Apollo looking at him with his empty eye sockets, awaiting for his superior to act.....

Apollo looked at Shinra change forms and it was..well it was scary. Apollo had never seen that type of magic before It was something out of a nightmare anyone would be afraid or scarred by this type of magic Apollo just stared as the flesh melted away he gulped not just shocked by what he just saw but he was also amazed at this. It was breath taking Apollo was glad he made the first move He got to see what he was capable of and his attacks were just as scary as he was. the screams for his attacks, as the enemy's screamed and ignited he could tell shinara meant business. It sent a chill down Apollo's spine watching this then the men were defeated. As they layed on the ground they were dying and in a way Apollo pitied them. He doesn't like the kill his foes if he can help but in this case he would allow it this time. He then looked at Shinra as he looked at Apollo he saw his eye's were missing. he said more enemy were coming. Apollo nodded at Shinra partly freaked out a little but in a way he was happy that he was on his side.

He then saw a few mages jump out of the woods and looked them down. "We leave the newbies to do one job and they can't even do that i'm glad you ended them now we don't have to later." He grinned looking at them. they didn't seemed phased but shinras form. must have watched it happened but that wasn't Apollo's main concern. "Y-your happy their dead but aren't you guild mates?" he said getting annoyed. "Not anymore." they laughed then two formed ice weapons and the rest ice make spells. They rushed shinra and the ranged wizards lunged closer. as they fired what looked to be ice lances's at shinra Apollo looked pissed. "I'll show you the straeght of a guild.." he muttered quietly. Mirroir Wall!" he called then a towering shield apperes before him. As the lances clash against the shield theyfire back at them hitting them all like a shotgun effect. As the shield dissapates from all the damage they are all laying there defeated,. Apollo walked over to Shinra looking at him." then withouit a word firedd his gun at two people who were still conicens. "They aren't dead just knocked out" he said then sighed "you alright?" He said looking at where his eyes should be.

"Thank you I am fine......lets keep moving...I have a few more minutes before my spell ends......" Shinra's fiery skull seemed to be grinning. Shinra would then turn his skull towards the knocked out enemies. He was thoroughly impressed with Apollo's abilities. "Are you sure it's alright to let our enemy live?" Inquired Shinra as the flaming leaves floated towards the unconscious mages' necks, they din't lash out or caused any harm they merely hovered awaiting for orders. Shinra flicked his wrists and the flaming leaves returned to his side.

"........whatever....shall we keep going?....I think one of them was waiting it out and escaped after seeing his comrades beaten......if we follow him him we should be able to find the rest of the perpetrators....we can split up and lower the chances of both of us getting caught....but sadly I'm quite weak....it took me everything I had just to take down a novice of their guild..... I apologize for my inadequate performance....if you had chosen someone more reliable perhaps you would have been able to secure the book faster........." Shinra spoke in a calm cool manner. His flames danced around his skull as he began to scan the environment.

"Quickly now....this way....he's getting away." Murdered Shinra as he dashed forwards, he chose to follow a trodden path, yet he made sure his foot steps were silenced by the moss and soft vegetation of the forest, this was so that the target would not notice them following him. Shinra drew to a stop. His flames dimmed ever so slightly as he stooped low. Surprisingly Shinra's flames didn't set the whole forest on fire, it simply dropped the temperature around them.....it was as if the flames were cold......

"Shit....I think they spotted us...Apollo brace yourself I hear some of them coming....." muttered Shinra as he signaled to Apollo.

Apollo looked at Shinra as he asked if it was ok to let them live. Apollo sighed nodding. "yes My thinking is we beat them once we can do it again if they attack us plus it means we are better, stronger people. I don't like killing unless I have to how you operate might be different But I believe if I can subdue them without death it is a good day" Apollo shrugs a little. As they walked he held checkmate closer. He then mentioned he was getting away and dashed forward. Apollo sighed running after him. they were now being really loud so stealth was no longer an option. He ran after him hopping to catch up to him. he then saw him stop mentioning enemy's coming. Apollo looked around carefully. He then heard them coming and got ready.

Apollo looked up as then out of no where five enemy Mages ambushed them jumping out of bushes and trees five mages jump out at them Apollo could say he wasn't expecting them at all then looked at Shinra who was gonna run out of magic power at the rate he was going. Apollo sighed then got close to him. "stay near me..." he said as they circled around them getting ready to strike then he quickly shot two round in quick succession due to his night form nailing two of them knocking them out. Then the other three fire lighting spells at him. "Trinty Shields!" he called as three shields appear blocking all three attacks. The shields look like they are spinning like buzz saws. "Three saw attack!" he called as he spun the shields around him cutting the other three down before they could react. Apollo gripped checkmate looking at shinra. "you good?" he said smiling a little hoping he didn't get hurt during that.

Shinra dusted himself off and nodded. "I'm fine thanks to your magic......but it seems like we're not out of the sticks yet........." sighed Shinra as he looked towards the enemy Ace. Shinra clenched his knuckles, he was totally out of his league. He wondered why even took this job. Shinra let out a sigh and braced himself for battle.

".....Apollo I'm going to distract him..... hit him with everything you got.....I'm not strong enough to do some real damage to him.....but I'll do my best....donn't worry about me....we need to secure that book as soon as possible......" Shinra said to Apollo in a calm cool manner. The enemy mage chuckled and took out the book. He summoned fourth two black panthers.

"You're so eager to die skull face......shall I help you?" grinned the evil mage. Shinra's body began to shake, for a moment it looked like fear until he burst out in laughter.

"AHAHAHAHAHA! Death?!....... My good sir...I eagerly yearn for it.......but sadly.......I cannot die just yet.......besides have you seen death face to face?.......I have.....in fact,,,,death and I are really...really good friends...." chuckled Shinra as the leaves pointe towards the enemy. "Let us dance!" Shinra laughed out loud as he charged straight ahead.

The mage would then fire a bolt of lightning at Shinra. In response Shinra would evade to the side, but the higer ranked enemy mage would still be able to hit Shinra. The evasion was not successful, Shinra would still take half of the damage. However it would be enough to keep Shinra going.

"Shiiiiiit! LIKE FUCK IMMA LET SOME BASTARD LIKE YOU TAKE ME DOWN!" Yelled Shinra as he pressed on. The Two panthers lurched forward, one bit Shinra on the shoulder and the other on his leg. "GRAAAAAH!" Shinra's jaws clenched bearing the pain. The flames of his skull began flickering, despite all of this Shinra dragged the panthers with him as he limped towards the enemy mage, unfortunately he was halted. The panthers claws dug deeper, snapping a few bones. shinra was now 3 meters away form the enmy mage. While this was happening the flaming leaves would loop around through the young and low tree's while staying in the enemy mage's blind spot. Shinra would yell louder shouting insults attracting all the attention to himself. The leaves where about 5 meters of radius just enough for Shinra to maintain control.

"Is this the best?....all talk I see....your magic is simply for show...you pathetic weakling!" The enemy mage laughed gleefully. It was the moment Shinra was waiting for, the leaves would shoot down towards the hand which held the book. At the same Shinra would punch a panther at the nose, and the other he would then bring down his elbow. This would cause the Panthers to lose their grip. At that moment would use his remaining strength to break away and dash forward and tackle the enemy mage. Even with Shinra's remaining strength the enemy stood firm.

"Weakling....out of spells so you choose to try and physically topple me over......hahaha you're nothing but a fraud.....an embarrassment to us mages....." smirked the enemy mage as he punched Shinra in the gut. Shinra coughed his flames grew even more dim.

"haha......thats right....I'm not worthy to be called a mage.......but I sure as hell make one hell of a canon fodder!..............APOLLO DON'T WORRY ABOUT ME JUST WHOOP THIS GUYS ASS! WE CAN'T LET HIM BRING THE BOOK TO CIVILIZATION.....WE CAN'T ALLOW HIM TO HURT INNOCENT PEOPLE!!!!" Shinra held even more tightly. The enemy mage charged a spell to finish Shinra. Yet before the spell could be fired. Shinra called forth the leaves, they would swoop down a pierce through Shinra's sides and push through stabbing the enemy hand. The Enemy mage yelped out in surpise, at the sting he would feel. Shinra Would then muster is remaining strength to take the book and toss it to Apollo. The mage would then smack Shinra to the side. Shinra was tossed three meters to the right. The flames of his skulls flickered away. Shinra wasn't dead....but he was close too.......Shinra simply played dead.......it was up to Appollo now.....

AS the mage appered Apollo looked at him glaring then he saw the book. Then Shinra told him he was going to distract him and to get ready to do some damage. Before Apollo could give his thoughts Shinra Charged forward Apollo watched him. Before he could react panthers came biting down on him. He then saw him knock them off him and mustered the strength and assaulted the mage. AS Apollo watched he saw he was badly hurt As he went to help he saw something flying at him. he then saw the book and he ran and caught it . "the..book.." he then heard him yell telling him to stop this guy. Apollo then saw him get thrown into a tree with a hard thud and pass out. Apollo just glared at the mage he had no idea the extent of the mistake he had just made. He gripped the gun and the book.

Apollo held the book .."Panthers stand down.." he muttered the book making the animals obey. This book was truly terrifying. Then he looked at the mage. "you made three mistakes which means you will have no mercy from me..." he growled angry. he felt as if his curse was creeping up on him so he had to make sure it wouldn't happen again. The dark mage laughed "Oh really what would that be?" Apollo glared. "One you stole from the tribe, two your guild attacked us, and three which is the wors of a;ll you not only hurt my partner you hurt my friend which to me is a direct attack on me and Fairy Tail so get ready I will show you no mercy.." APollo said his voice filled with anger. The dark mage laughed but Apollo Already knew how to win.

AS he laughed Apollo just looked at him then fired instantly full on rage. "Magnet Shield!" he said as an orb formed in his hand and fired. It was a black orb with two black rings in the form of a x. It traveled at him with great speed. HE then scoffed and jumped out of the way of the orb as it stuck to a tree. As he went to fire a lighting spell Apollo shot at him making him have to cancel his spell to dodge. "Ricochet" he muttered as it hit a tree and bounced back towards him. He then saw that coming but was able to dodge just in time standing where he was at the start of the fight. "This is over you. "are you kidding there is know way you weak mages can stop us" he said as he charged his shot. Apollo just stood there waiting for the attack "Die!" he yelled as he fired to spell. but as it left his hand it immedeattly fired back towards him. unable to dodge at this range he was forced to take the B rank damage from his own spell He fel barly awake. APollo walked up glaring "Call him or any Fairy Tail maember weak again and i will end you" he then hit him with the hilt of his gun knocking him out.

Apollo then ran over to Shinra "Promotion to Bishop!" he yelled quick spinning the barrel. Seeing he was still alive he gave a sigh of relief "don't move. "He then fired into Shinras gut healing him though it stung a litlle at first. "you feeling ok?" he said looking down down grabbing his arm then pulling him up "come on let's get you out of here" He smiles and starts helping him through the forest.

"Ugh....For fucks sake......Why'd I agree on this job......ugh.........yeah I'm good.....I got my ass whooped and my pride sorely beaten.......other wise I'll live....I'll just be really....really....sore in the morning....It hurt a lot more than I expected......" Chuckled Shinra, the skin and his hair all seemed to regenerate until he was back to his normal appearance. His hair, skin, flesh and clothes where back to normal......however the wounds would stay, thanks to Apollo's trusty check mate Shinra had made it through somehow.

Shinra slowly was able to regain his stength. Shinra spat out some blood, it was nothing serious. A simple cut in his inner cheek. "Thanks....thought I was a goner........if I wasn't so damn weak I probably would have been more of use to you senpai......seems like I have a long way to go......." Shinra loooked up to the sky. He wasn't as stiff and serious, it seemed that he was a bit more relaxed and open. His reserved vocabulary became lighter and more casual.

"Well......like I said earlier....at least I make one hell of a canon fodder hehehe.........I seriously hope there's no one left to take out.....some of that miracle weed sounds really good right now.....hahaha kidding....." Shinra was now able to walk by himself, he limped through the forest with Apollo while up looking to the sky.

"...I've really gotten soft ever since I joined this guild...." Shinra looked down and shook his head. It was true, it had only been a few weeks or so and he had changed significantly, perhaps the dumb, loud, crazy guild had started to rub off on him. Shinra didn't like it, but it couldn't be helped. Having some pretty head strong guild mates makes it difficult for Shinra to stay as a lone wolf.....

Apollo chuckled a little as Shinra mentioned how much pain he was in. "this will sting a little" He sighed then shot another round into him healing him more. As his skin regenerated Apollo smiled a little. After a while he was able to walk on his own two feet again. He the heard him then Apologize to Apollo for being so weak and mention to him how he still has a long way to go. Apollo sighed it reminded a lot of himself knowing he still needed to do the same thing. Apollo looked at him. He then shook his head. "You know your not weak your as strong as any mage, Plus your courage makes up for it" he pats his shoulder. "If you didn't gget the book away from him there could have been some real problems so I have to thank you for that. He nodded firmly "as for getting stronger join the club man we will get stronger together as time goes on" he smiles looking up as they walk

Apollo shook his head at him. "your more then cannon fodder man warn me next time more so I can put some armor on you that way you don't just instantly die ok" He said with a look of concern on his face. The last thing he needed was for him to die on him. "I hope it is a smooth journey back as well." APollo chuckled then heard the mirical weed comment. "I wonder what Heero would be like on miricle weed..." Apollo chuckled just thinking about it. As they walk Apollo heard him mutter that he has gotten soft Apollo shook his head. "You know just because you joined a guild doesn't mean your are soft if anything I believe it will make you stronger in time" Apollo smiled at him.

As they walked back he looks around the forest hoping there wasn't anything else coming he then started to wonder about Shinra. he didn't know much about him and he was curious about his magic's origins. "Hey Shinra if it's alright Might I inquire a little about you...like where your from or where you learned your magic" He said looking at him hoping to change the subject and get his mind off the battle. He waited for his answer as the trudged through the jungle.

"hmmmm.....yeah I guess so..." muttered Shinra as he answered Apollo in regards to his statement about being in a guild. He took the bullet and was healed.

"My magic?.......It's not my real magic.....it's something I picked up back when I was a kid.....the country I lived in went through war.....at that time I used another magic called Muramasa....I had used that magic to hurt a lot of people......over the time I couldn't stand using that magic anymore.....Murumasa was the same magic my good for nothing family used.........I didn't want anything to do with it.......so....I found a new magic......and I taught myself how to use it....everything was good at first.....but it took a turn or the worse.....well... I had thought it was magic.....in reality it's nothing but a curse......thousands of souls good and bad are now trying to take over my body......my magic not only puts a strong mental strain....but a strain on my body as well.....I'm a ticking time bomb.....I now for a fact death waits around the corner.....that's why I left my country....so I can see the world before I kick the bucket...that and I wanted to get away from my family....." Shinra explained as he continued to make his way towards the village with his guild mate.

"In all honesty....my magic's not that special.....it look intimidating than it really is.....at the mean time hopefully I'll be able to find away to get rid of this curse that plagues me hahahahaha until then I'll have to stick with it.........I may be even desperate enough to use Muramasa again........I guess I'll just have to wait and see." Shinra Chuckled as he watched small animals scurry over to thier dens as they heard the incoming footsteps of Appollo and Shinra.

As Apollo listened to his story he didn't know what to feel. He was glad he changed his magic so he didn't hut other but he wondered what he meant by wanting to get away from his family. Apollo couldn't quite get his head around not having a family perhaps it was because he never really has one but his reasons were his own. Plus the part he mentioned about death waiting for him. Apollo looked at him. Was he serious was he just waiting to die or was he scared. To have magic that harmed you more then it helped must have been rough, he could only image his life growing up. But that Aside he looked at him and smiled a little "You know I think your magic is pretty cool I mean what you just saw is probably my best other then that i'm pure defense, I dunno I think your magic is pretty awesome." He nodded smiling a little more at him. He then looked up at the sky shaking his head his grim memory's creeping up onto him.

As he looked to the sky he pondered his past comparing the two of them in the end. He sighed then looked back at the ground. he then looked at him sighing "you know I know exactly how you feel." he said leveling with him. Apollo wasn't sure why he felt he needed to to tell him anything but he just felt like he should saw something, anything. "I know what it is like to live with a curse lingering over you I have the exact same thing..." He sighed then stopped " You hear that..." Apollo looked around carefully. There was rustling from the trees. then something flew at them. "Get down" Apollo dived and Shinra as a huge stone flew over them. "Promotion to Rook..." he muttered spinning his barrel looking up at there attackers.
