[A Wizard's Grace]

As he swung his rod, the dark mage landed a hit on Atsui's head, the pain was a lot, but the hit wasn't strong enough to make him lose consciousness, the Wizard himself realized that he couldn't put too much strength in the blow since he could not use his legs to add force to the blow.
Atsui's rage was now at his higher level, if there was something he pretty much hated was being hit on his head, and that hit was quite strong , enough to make him bleed from the left side of his head.

As the old guy lost balance because of the lacking strength in his leg , Atsui went berserk, swinging and slicing the old guy chest plenty of times.
The old guy fell on his back but he was still alive, the cheap quality of that short sword, didn't allow any of those hit to be fatal, but still it was a great amount of damage the middle aged wizard would have never stand.

The farmer had reached the two guys meanwhile and Atsui was still unable to hear and to use his left arm.

He.. Help me please!!

The Dark Wizard was talking to the farmer.

This man cursed your field and and as soon as i found out it was him, he started attacking me without any mercy!! Please you have to help me!!

The farmer stopped for a second to understand the situation and what was really happening..
Atsui from his side, had no chance to understand what they were talking about and he was just there standing and doing nothing.

The farmer started questioning the young boy, but he could not listen to their words. Two of the farmer went down and helped the bearded man standing up, while the other three , pissed of by the fact that Atsui didn't answer any of their query decided to believe the lies of the cleaver man.

Then as soon as the two farmed had walked a few feet away, the other three started to attack Atsui with thir farming tool. Atsui was completely confused but these farmer were very bad fighters, so he dodged all the attacks with ease.

After a few missed attack the guys started to question themselves, since Atsui had never fought them back, and he didn't seemed to hostile in any way.
One of the farmer turned his face to check on the other two companions, only to see that one of them was laying on the ground, and the other one, was trying to defend himself at the best he could.
He rushed to help his friend, and the other farmer did the same as soon as they noticed the situation. Atsui followed them as fast as he could but he was still confused by the hit on his head and the sudden attack from the farmer, so his reaction was a bit slow compared to the farms one.

When the young boy reached the dark wizard it was too late, four of them were laying on the ground dead, and the fifth one was going to follow the same fate soon if he didn't do anithing to prevent the slaughter.

Stooop!!
As a last hope, Atsui tried to throw his short sword, from that hit depended the life of that last farmer survivor.
If he wasn't able to save at least one, he would have felt as if the mission failed even if he killed the dark wizard..

'Damage Dice' :

For god will or for Atsui's Aim the short sword pierced the Dark Wizard chest going through the woll body. He really didn't wanted to kill that middle aged guy, but he forced his hand.
And there was nothing else he could do to save the farmer.

Atsui won the fight, but he had let 4 people die in the process, he felt he had failed as a fairy tail mage, as a protector of that place peace. The last Farmer was wounded but still alive, Atsui grabbed him by his arm and shouldered his weight, slowly walking in the direction of the village.

After a good half hour, the rain stopped to fall, then wind calmed down, and a faint light came down from the holes in the clouds. Atsui arm started to come back to normal, as he could hear birds singing. Everything turned back to normal, but he couldn't be very happy because of what happened back to the field.

After one hour of walk the farmed came back to senses and was finally able to walk on his own.

Why didn't you answer to our question when we were talking with you?

The farmer questioned Atsui.

I am deeply sorry for what happened to your friends..
i could not answer because i was under that guy curse.. i could hear no sound , no voice..

The mage expression was totally sad, and the farmer tried his best to not let him feel guilty.

What is your name lad?

Atsui answered with a very low voice.

I'm Haru, Atsui Haru, a mage from Fairy Tail..

The farmer had little surprise knowing he was from Fairy Tail, at the end , that guild saved their village plenty of time already.

Hei Haru, don't be so sad, if it wasn't for you lot more people have ended up dead because of starvation, and i would not have been able to come back to my family. So please cheer up, do it for me hu?

Atsui was wondering if the other farmer had family also, but he could not really cheer up in that situation.

Soon after both reached the village and Atsui had the chance to talk with the village chief, which congratulated with him, and thanked him many times.
As the other farmer did, the Chief didn't held Atsui responsible for what had happened.
Instead he invited Atsui tu a big dinner in the center of the village to celebrate that the field were back to normal and they could keep on with their lives.
It was night after a few hours, and everyone were celebrating for the good news, it looked like the dead farmer had no family at least.
Of course there was some of their friends which found difficult to celebrate with everyone , but they accepted what happened and went forward.
There was a big fire at the center of the village and everyone was eating and drinking something, it was quite loud, and there was children playing left and right, some dog barking.

But from Atsui lips not a single smile came out, it was already hard for him to smile normally, but in that situation it was impossible for him to feel good, even if he completed the mission.
Then he started to talk with the Chief that was sitting and eating next to him, standing close to the big fire.

This is the posted announcement..

The chief gave Atsui the compensation for his job, then added.

Mr. Haru, you should sleep here tonight, and depart tomorrow.
At this hour the night is pretty cold, and some wild animals could attack you on the road back home.

Atsui took his money, but he took several seconds before reaching out the bag with the money.
After all he still thought he didn't deserve it.

The boy took half the jewels he got from the chief, and gave it back saying:

Please.. this is the least i can do..
give this to the parents of the farmer i could not protect.

Then turned his back to the Chief and started walking back to magnolia.

The chief watched Atsui walking away been unable to stop him , and at the same time thinking how could that guy be so warm and so cold at the same time, was beyond his imagination.

The air was chilling and the night very dark, while walking Atsui wrapped himself into his mantle, the cold inside his heart was much colder than that winter night.
This adventure teached him, that he should have probably started with easier jobs, and gave him very good reason to work on more attack oriented spell.
The short sword that he have bought , rested in the Dark wizard body and the farming tool were given to the survived farmer.

With the first light of the raising sun, he had reached fairy tail guild , went inside when there was still no one in the hall, put out the offer from the job wall, and went back to his small apartment, just to fell asleep 20 seconds after...
