    Spoiler:

Hayden didn't know why he agreed to go to the Zoo with his team mate when they could have been doing much more important things- like fighting bad guys. Yet, he found himself here simply watching the displays with a mild amount of joy but some guy had caught his attention for a moment as if he was messing with something but before Hayden had time to discover the source of all this he heard a yell to see what was once normal looking animals now something horrific and evolved to some type of monster- his hand immediately went to his blade as he shifted his eyes around looking for Rohma to see her at his side.

"The hell is going on- Rohma we got to act quick and get these animals gotta be put down`" As Hayden was interuppted someone that looked like one of the animal tamers and at their side one of the head honcho in charge of all these animals quickly grabbed Hayden shaking his head furiously. "You can't kill them! They've been infected or evolved or something- You gotta just subdue them we may be able to fix this please this animals mean the world to some people!" The man pleaded causing Hayden to quickly sigh but nodded as he removed his sword anyway, he would at the very least hit them with the flat. "Fine- But start evacuating people We will handle the animals and find out how the hell this happened!" Hayden yelled as the man began to depart looking to Rohma with a slightly worried look.

"Looks like we will get some actions- let's hurry!" He yelled ready to spring into actions, this had to be stopped and quickly! There was no telling how many people could be harmed by this whole mess so when it came to innocent lives he wasn't the one to sit ideally- thankfully people where mostly out of the zoo by now but there would still be a few stragglers they might have to pick up. But they must act quickly to prevent lost of life!

    ’So much for this trip.’

Rohma possessed a certain fondness for animals because one could usually guess their motives: food or attention. In most cases things lead to the former, but she could respect that all the same. They didn’t lie or cheat about it like people often did and over less important things, they simply wanted some food and the domesticated ones would happily roll over or sidle up to you for it, and the wild ones would stalk you for it. As fun as it was to watch some critters in their natural habitats, on occasion it was nice not to worry about one of them sneaking up behind you while watching other’s because at the zoo everybody was locked up.

The invitation had been mostly a joke, Rohma not actually expecting Hayden to go along with it. In fact she still hadn’t quite determined if he’d agreed honestly or partially to spite her joke, but the woman could shrug it off and simply enjoy it while unintentionally forcing a bit of R&R on the tall fellow. ’He’d probably be out on a job otherwise, or maybe training if I hadn’t opened my trap.’

She’d found it a bit curious that they appeared to be checking up on all the animals today, normally maybe a pen or two undergoing some sort of maintenance or health inspection sure. ’Maybe cause its new though they’re still double-checking everything,’ she’d tried to reason even as she watched the fellow leave the tiger pit with a frown.

Ever the man of action – perhaps it’d been good he agreed? – Rohma sighed: she didn’t like the idea of killing them because of some blasted mad man. ’Then again can’t have these things breaking out into the town either.’ Except…a keeper quickly nixed that plan, much to Rohma’s inner delight, albeit it made things a bit trickier now.

”Go on without me,” she shouted, taking a quick turn towards one of their stations, ”Gonna stock up and I’ll meet back up with you.” Closing the door behind her, Rohma eyed the various medicines, darts, and related guns, ”I mean should be easy enough: I just have to find the party and he’ll prolly be at the heart of it.”

He didn't like the idea of splitting up something he was reluctant to actually do from the way he paused trying to force his body to turn to the other way. Just like a dog leaving his companion he didn't like it, it worried him not because he didn't trust in their combat skill but because that inept loyalty he had made it hard to leave a alley. So as he was walking the opposite direction he turned around allowing for a brief moment the hardened exterior to crack as he called out to them to be safe. He didn't know if they heard it but it went along the lines of 'Don't you die and leave me here!' Which in all actuality could be interrupted however anyone wanted.

With that sentiment done he felt a bit better as he began a soft jog deeper into the bark, his sword resting on his shoulder as he looked around. It felt just too quiet thus far. 'This might actually be quite the challenge- even for me I'm going to need back up sooner or later; the hell caused all of this,' Hayden thought through all the confusion he still had. At the very least for now he knew it was time to get ready for something for as his thoughts ended he heard the loud howling of what could only be described as horrific wolves. Just as he barely had tint to react two suddenly jumped at him from the bushed prompting him to quickly dive out of the way as they clawed the ground up. So with that the fight began.

As he turned his head to look around he saw himself surronded by multiple and at a quick glance it seemed to be five of them circling him like a piece of meat, his first instinct is to press his hand to the ground activating his Destructable V2 spell causing a blinding like to erupt from Hayden as energy flooded from his hand into the earth around them causing the ground to exploded outwards. The explosion was so massive that the five wolves where actually blown away and hit different areas of the park items causing them to be defeat due to their close proximity to him and the bonus damage this spell did above his rank. Though that C rank spell did take some energy out of him causing him to take a breath to calm himself. 'Careful Hayden, you need to focus' He explained to himself beginning to stand as he made a mental note that they had taken five wolves down. Seemed relatively simple so far.

"Alright Hayden- let's see where the Alpha is.." He grunted as he began to walk deeper into the wolves pit- quite literally entering the wolves lair located within the dense 'forest' exhibit. Great. Ugh. 'Hopefully Rohma will be having good luck on their end,' Hayden thought before finally being swallowed by the forest.

Gathering materials Rohma worked as quick as she could filling a multitude of darts with serums – after she’d modified them a little. One couldn’t be sure if these guys were more resistant to drugs in their current state or not so she had to hazard a bit of a guess that they could take a larger dose than the norm. Packing them away into a pouch she attached the thing to her belt, loading a few into the rifle and then checked the sights. ’Should be good, but guess we’ll see. Should definitely not be as bad as a carnival one at least. Still gotta make sure I don’t hit things I’m not supposed too.’ That would be the one issue seeing as a few people remained in the park and it wouldn’t do to hit either Hayden, any of the keepers helping them, OR any stragglers (or customers from hell) who might get in the way.

As she stepped out of the little concrete hut the Hydra mage shielded her eyes, peering around, ’Where would he most likely go…’ Something caught her attention, a not-so-subtle flapping of wings and a low growl rumbling from deep within the gullet of some beast. Only now did she spy the altered tiger, it’s now almost luminescent orange fur glowing amidst the trees, large and purple leathery wings folding up as it crouched upon the branch.

’Shit, they’re not fully in their right minds,’ or maybe they simply didn’t care in their juiced up state to hunt as she’d come to expect? ’Or maybe just zoo-grown tigers. Guess there are some advantages to be had if they’ve lost out on some things.’ About to fire a dart or two, she swung around and shot both into the one that’d gotten dangerously close as the other stole the mage’s attention. ’Shit! Or they’re more clever than I thought.’ The two darts had temporarily taken the other one out of commission, but his friend wouldn’t allow Rohma more than a moment to gauge if it was still breathing or not before lunging.

Hayden entered into the jungle lair of the wolves with the full intent to find the alpha and knock him out to make sure the wolves who knew was the top dog in here. Er. Wolf. At any rate he descended deeper into the mess of trees and paths that was more like a maze than a jungle display, it was a re-created forest so despite it being in a building it had the fake noises of one and the openness of any regular forest causing Hayden to need to be on guard. As he was walking through the jungle-maze it wasn't long before he heard a growling and the tell tale sound of paws on dirt as he turned around just quick enough to use the flat of his blade to knock one of the wolves pouncing on him away. However, one of the two had latched onto his free forearm causing him to hiss in pain as he reeled his calloused hand back to give it a haymaker and make it drop him arm.

Hayden leaped back as his arm now had a bite mark that was leaking blood, not alot but it could become a problem later as he eye'd the three wolves trying to circle him. His eyes scanned for a opened however he quickly kneeled down slapping his hand to the ground as he used destructible V1 to blast them away injuring them slightly maybe even snapping a few bones in them but they where still able to fight.. any angrier than ever. One of the bigger ones out of the three began to run towards Hayden trying to pounce him but Hayden shifted to his left shifting his sword to the flat end swinging it at the things head cracking it over the skull, not enough to kill it but it took out of the fight with a whimper. The other two was began to stand shaking their heads as if to clear their thoughts but Hayden was already upon them sending a hard foot into one's head causing it to slump to the ground knocked out and for the second brought the hilt on it's head rendering it unconscious. With that threat out of the way he would rip a piece of fabric from his clothes to bandage the bite mark on his arm and begin his merry way deeper into the forest.

Visit to the Zoo [Rohma/Hayden] Empty Re: Visit to the Zoo [Rohma/Hayden]

Post by Cielle 17th October 2015, 2:11 am

”Shit that was close…” Nudging the hefty beast with her boot, Rohma sighed in relief as both overgrown and now winged tigers lay unmoving. The first she’d downed at a moment’s notice, but the second one required a bit more work, its claws leaving a few marks on her right shoulder. With the thing bearing down on her in such close proximity though it’d been pure gut reaction to fill the barrel with one of her more primary spells, shooting the thing in the face as it started snarling. Like that the hissing and snarling feline became docile, its chaotic animal mind no doubt lost as to what happened to the world, going so far as to shake its head and lightly paw at its eyes as if something might be covering them. If viewing the underlying laws of reality shocked humans Rohma could hardly imagine what it might be like for an animal as the beast began backing up like a cat with its head stuck in a jar.

Rather than dwell too much and risk a sense of guilt the raven-haired woman set to loading the gun with a dart and fired it right into the vibrant tiger’s neck. It fought for a few minutes, but ultimately it too slumped over, breath slowing as sleep over took the hunter. ’Hopefully you’ll be back to normal soon enough, and if not I’ll figure somethin’ out. Hmm….?’

Now that she had time to more closely observe them without a threat to her well-being, something in the flew of their composition caught her eye. The word glowed a horrid color next to their soft orange and dark gray tints, the word bright red like a beacon. ’Tch…can’t chance an immediate erase though, could hurt them unintentionally. But….if that word represents whatever was done to them….could try to create a counter code…’ The real problem would lie in whether she could use it universally or if each animal would require a different sequence to counteract the effects.

Once she’d finished the pair of tigers – their forms likely to revert in the next couple of minutes or so – Rohma set off where she believed Hayden to have gone. ’It’d be just like him to go charging off towards the trees I bet. The predators are more likely to lurk there.’ Her steps slowed however as the woman came upon the site of a fight, altered wolves lying everywhere and offering her quite the opportunity. ”Well…I’m sure he can wait a few more minutes while I examine the wolves.”

The mumblings didn’t go unnoticed, though the beast had already been stalking her for the last few seconds. It watched as she did something to the wolves, though it hardly cared, its adrenaline pumping more and more with the passing seconds. When she refused to acknowledge his dominance or even presence for that matter, leaving the canines, he gave a great ape howling at her, scaring a couple of birds away at the same time.

Visit to the Zoo [Rohma/Hayden] Empty Re: Visit to the Zoo [Rohma/Hayden]

Post by MorpheusDavol 26th October 2015, 6:17 am

The woods was a place Hayden could relate pretty well most of the time, a area in the world where it was cut off from the craziness of the city yet held it’s own social vibes. This was something the young male could respect and even grew to admire in it’s own rare type of beauty, then again it wasn’t everyday that the beings of said forest was converted into blood thirsty monsters. This perversion of nature was simply something the young male could not stand for and even though he was laying the hurt on the animals it was for their own good. Nevertheless Hayden paused briefly to kneel down to examine the tracks his eyes had briefly caught, his fingers brushing against the dirt softly to clear up some leaves to see what looked to be a semi defined paw print.

“Looks like they’ve been moving...” He spoke to himself quietly keeping a mental tally of eight wolves he’s taken down so far, it was really up to Hayden if he would press on or wait for his team mate. He suppose it wouldn’t hurt to wait for her, after all they had no way of knowing if each other was safe or not so for now he would stay put. This gave him time to begin to think of some type of plan to how to deal with the rest of the wolves without killing them something he had to be careful about. After all of this was over he would definitely be looking into some more non lethal equipment, perhaps some type of gauntlet would work.

“Rohma, where the hell are you?” He asked to himself as he began to get up from his knee looking around, sniffing the air as if he could smell something was off. His guts served him right for in that moment he began to hear the sound of leaves and dirt breaking under the pressure of feet, he chuckled beginning to unsheathe his sword as he mentally prepared himself for the next assault.

Post by Cielle 28th October 2015, 12:50 am

’Damn it damn it damnit!’ the woman mentally screamed as she frantically bobbed and weaved through the foliage. Bushes and branches scraped at her, Rohma shoving the worst of it out of the way only to hear the things outright snapping beneath the onslaught of her pursuer. Bark flew here and there as those massive fists slammed into trees here and there, one groaning as it gave way to the ape’s might and the thing stopped to howl again as if reasserting dominance. It awarded her only the slightest of leads the thing would minimize all too quickly, much to her annoyance.

As a plan began to form in her mind however something came into view and a streak of cursing flew through Rohma’s mind. Up ahead she could make out the unmistakable form of her partner, and though he appeared to be readying himself for either her arrival…or maybe the unfortunate one of yet another foe, the last thing she wanted was for the guy to get run over by the charging gorilla a bit behind her. The thing packed a hell of a wallop as a couple of trees could attest too. ’I’ll have to time this right,’ she grit her teeth.

There were reasons Rohma didn’t want people to see her use her magic without the use of guns, an element of surprise for a lot of enemies, but she didn’t want to unease allies with some of the possibilities either. It was just easier to title it “bullet magic” or “gun magic” and be done with it. Less questions, less confusion, and more importantly less “fear.” By now he’d likely noticed her as the woman raced towards him, extracting one of her pistols and taking aim as if to shoot him.

    Bam!

It hit the dirt near his feet, causing some dust and blades of grass to jump up. The air would become magically charged, something noticeable only to the pair as the thing continued its rampaging charge behind her, howling with anger. She didn’t slow in the slightest, slamming right into Hayden and forcing them off into the bushes as the thing seemed to stop where they’d been moments ago. From where they’d landed it’d sound like the thing threw a temper tantrum as it slammed its fists into the ground and seemingly wanted to slap the grass away, rending up chunks of dirt.

Huffing to catch her breath, after a few seconds Rohma would push against the ground to separate them a little, a cheeky grin finding its way onto her face as she stared down at the man, ”Didja miss me?” Call it relief at seeing a friendly face.
