Sure, all the jobs she’d been on were strange in one way, shape, or form. However, this new job was a bit more… silly. Gazette had taken a job which seemed quite simple. There was a man, and he is deathly afraid of traveling on trains, for some reason. He needed to ride one for his job, and he didn’t see how he could possibly do it. So his wife sent out an urgent job request, and Gazette happened to find it. She was pretty surprised to, because it seemed like a pretty easy task, all things considered.

She rode the train there herself, after all the train was a quick way to get to Magnolia from Clover Town. After all, she wanted to give off a message that the trains were safe, and that she trusted them. After all, if she didn’t show him that she trusted the trains, then how could she expect the man to? His wife wanted him on the train, unharmed, and to get off the train the same. She thought it’d be pretty simple. She drags him on board if she has to, then makes sure he doesn’t leave, and maybe enjoy a book. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

The train screeched to a halt in Magnolia, Gazette’s destination. It was still early in the day, and the weather was nice, so she didn’t really want to be so holed up in a train all day, but she had no other choice, really. Such was a sacrifice she’d have to make, it was the life of a Guild Wizard. She knew sometimes it might take a bit of sacrifice, but in the end it was worth it. After all, there weren’t many other ways to get stronger as a wizard, and she wanted to become one of the strongest wizards on the planet! That was her goal, and she’d do anything to get there.

As she stepped of the train, she saw the client’s husband, standing against a pole with his briefcase. He was looking at his watch, then the train station’s clock, then finally up at her. It took him a moment to realize that Gazette was looking at him, and making a beeline towards him, but when he finally did, he greeted her with a wave. She returned one of her own, making a small effort towards coming off as friendly. He smiled and bowed as she got closer.

“There’s really no need.” She assured him, extending her hand for a shake instead. He declined and continued to bow, explaining that it’d be rude of him not to. She sighed, not sure exactly what she’d gotten herself into, but she knew it’d be worth it in the end. Though, she wasn’t so sure her magic would be necessary here. That’s sorta why she was disappointed as she got neared to Magnolia, she realized that it wasn’t going to be a real challenge, it was just going to be a glorified babysitting job, and that was all.

She urged the man towards the platform, explaining that there was really nothing to worry about, but that’s when the problems began. He froze in place. He didn’t say anything, but his face looked deathly ill. She thought maybe something was seriously wrong with him, and that’s why he couldn’t ride the train alone, because he had health issues. However, then he began to shake his head violently.

“Now way am I getting on the thing! It’s a veritable death trap!” He pleaded, sounding like a child begging not to eat his veggies.

“Oh brother, are you seriously that big of a baby? You know that more people die each year from choking on food than in train crashes, right? You aren’t afraid of eating are you?” She asked, then realizing it might have been a little stupid to mention it, but what was he going to do, refuse to eat, too?

“M- maybe, I guess it’s not very likely, I’m careful about eating, but I can’t really control a train, can I?” He explained, sort of chuckling like it was a joke. Gazette looked at him sternly, and rebuttled.

“You could, if that was your job. But your job is elsewhere, and it requires to you ride the train. Now, you’re going to get on that train if I have to tie you to the roof of it.” She said commandingly, grabbing the man by the arm and pulling him towards the B-17 train. He resisted, but with another tug on his arm, Gazette got him ahead of her. From there, she just kept pushing him towards the doors of the train, no matter how much he resisted.

Finally, just before the door, he turned and ran away, sprinting at full speed. Thinking quickly, Gazette brought her hands together and created her magic circle, bring them apart as she called, “Iron Make: Chains!”

“Whoa, what the hell, come on! Put me down, I swear I’ll ride the chain, it doesn’t have to be like this!” he pleaded, crying harder than a baby. Gazette’s eyebrow twitched in annoyance. She couldn’t believe he could be so childish, and still be expected to provide for his family.

With her chains still around him, she drug the man onto the train, sitting him down in the seat beside her. Once the train got going, she could let him go, and keep an eye on him and make sure he didn’t try to jump off or something stupid like that.

When they finally got to the man’s destination, his suit was a little wrinkled, and he was a little motion sick, but he was alive. That was more than Gazette could have promised at the start of the trip, because the guy really did not want to be on the train. To be fair, with him on board, neither did Gazette.
