Find those Puppies [Mission/Solo]

The girl had been doing nothing in the past days apart from doing consecutive missions. She was wearing a black shorts with a black lettered "LOVE" printed on a yellow tee. She paired herself with a black sneakers and put her hair up in a bun. The day was warm, but not sunny, the clouds had hidden the bright yellowy sun. She wondered if she should do mission again or she should just wander around but doing missions mean she would earn jewels. She need to save up as much as money she could. The girl decided to think later and fill her stomach fast. She went inside a compact restaurant, there are not many people and because she was here for brunch. She sat at the window side and stared at the bustling streets with people doing their jobs. She had not met any mages here yet. Her thoughts wandering around as she waited for her order to be served.

The girl's wandering thoughts were disturbed as her order was served. Her stomach was carving for a shrimp pasta and puddings as a dessert. She also ordered a cup of cappuccino to keep her activated and hyped. As she was digging in her shrimp pasta, she heard about puppies on the loose due to the owner's fault. Now, the pups are all over the town and the owner needed someone to keep em'. She then, heard there would be a reward. It got all the girl's attention. After, she finished her pudding, she called a waiter and paid for her food and walked towards the table of two men whom were talking about what's happening in the town, more like gossiping but she did not care.

"Excuse me sir. I happened to hear about puppies on the loose. Can you please tell me about it?" she asked with a sweet smile on her face.

The two men told her the address where she can find the owner of the puppies and that she can get the details there. The girl decided to thank the men and left the place to find the owner of the puppies. The girl followed the instructions and found a cottage with a young boy sitting in front of the balcony.

"I'm finding Mr.Grey," the girl told the young boy.  

The young boy looked at the girl and pointed at himself, "It's me. What do you want?"

"Oh. I'm here because I heard about the puppies on the loose," she explained the reason for being there.

The young boy looked up and went inside without another word, then he came out again, with a stack of papers. He thrust the papers towards the girl and started rambling, "I have seven puppies. They are adorable and nice. I left their pen open for a while and they went loose."

"My puppies are really nice and adorable. They are quick but I can ensure you, it ain't that difficult to find them. However, you need to gain their trust to get em'. Please do bring them back to me. I beg of you. I will pay you 1k jewels," the boy kept of rambling.

The girl did not mind his rambles, instead just gave him a reassuring smile. "I will bring it back," she promised the boy.

With that, the girl left the house with a stack of papers that had a sketch of each puppy on each paper and the description of it and where it was last found. The girl looked at the pup one, "Lucky." Let's hope I am lucky enough to find you immediately lucky, she thought. The girl wondered where she should start since she was not good with the roads of Magnolia town. Maybe she should start getting to know the streets.

The girl decided to go to the town council where they had a huge map with each street named. It was quite easy to memorize every details with her high IQ. It was indeed, a child's play. After a few more minutes to get all memorized, the girl left the place and went on a search for Lucky.

Lucky is a male terrier, to be specific, Airedale Terrier. Lucky is a brown short fur puppy with black furred on it's back. The boy even wrote about the behavior of his pup to be easy to identify. It was written that Lucky is a bold, playful and very adventurous. It was also very stubborn and headstrong. That fact alarmed the girl. It means this lucky pup would not be easy to persuade. Lucky love a long walk and strenuous game like a hunt. Thus, the girl decided to go find Lucky at the out of Magnolia town.

As the girl got out of town, she could hear a consecutive barking. It seemed she found Lucky already. The girl followed the sound and she did found Lucky. It seemed the latter was trying to hunt a squirrel that was running around the tree. The girl watched as the pup eagerly wagged its tail and continued scaring the tiny squirrel that seemed not to know what to do.

The girl decided that it was time to let Lucky know her presence. "Pshh. Lucky. Lucky," the former whispered, afraid that she would scare the puppy. Then, the girl took out the pup's food that it's owner gave her. She put a small amount on her left palm and stretched out her hand, not doing anything, letting the puppy come to her side by itself. The puppy took it's time, sniffing at her hand and barking at her. After a while, the puppy started eating from the girl's palm and when it was emptied, the girl put him in the portable pen she brought with her too.

After she found Lucky, the girl took another paper and read. It was another terrier but this time it is Australian Terrier. How many kinds of terrier are there? The girl thought in awe. This terrier's appearance was similar to Lucky but their characters are totally opposite. This one was named "Oby", a strange name the girl will tell you. Oby is quiet unlike Lucky but it was also adventurous and is clever, moreover obedient. Thank god, not another stubborn puppy, she thought. The girl decided to search Oby near the area too since they are similar kinds, they might be around in the same area. The girl couched and spoke to Lucky, "Maybe you should make some noise, Lucky. Tell Oby, you are here and who knows, Oby might reply to you," the girl said jokily. As if the puppy would understand what she said, she thought as she shook her head. She must be getting tired. She just found one. Maybe, this search would take more than a day, she sighed.

Quite funnily, Lucky barked and there was reply bark. The girl jumped up and down in surprise and happiness. "Damn. This is good. You must be totally a charm luck, Lucky," she continued to talk to the puppy while trying to follow the bark. The girl found a pup but it was not Oby, it was a black and white puppy, she searched through the stacks of paper and found a match. It is a collie, a herding collie. The puppy stayed far away from the girl but it kept barking, as if talking to Lucky. The girl read the paper and found out that, it is reserved, even protective towards strangers. What is she going to do, she thought in annoyance. The girl just sat on the wet grass and with her palm open with their dog food, she whispered nothing to the puppies. She will be nuts by the time she found them all, she thought.

The girl did not know how long it took, her nothing whispers towards the puppies and her arm started to get tired. Her eyes got tired and she felt herself losing unconsciousness. She did not know how long she took a nap but when she opened her eyes, it was already dark and she found out that, the dog food she scattered near her legs were gone. She saw that total two puppies taking a nap beside her and Lucky. It was her long-searched Oby. The girl quietly stood up and grabbed the collie whom was just sitting like a good puppy. Maybe it got to know her, afterall, they had been under this tree for half day. The collie obediently went inside the cage-like pen beside Lucky. Then, she quickly grabbed and put Oby together with Lucky and the Collie. Oby continued barking but she did not care at least it was inside safely. Three done, four more to go.

The girl scanned the paper, it was late already, she did not know whether she should stretch this mission to the next day or if she should just try to finish and sleep the whole day tomorrow. The undeniable truth was that she was tired but she did not think she can take it tomorrow from scratch one again. She should get back in town and see what's up then.

The girl checked the next paper, it was a bull dog which is a jovial, and the most docile among the dogs. However, it seemed this dog is stubborn too but thankfully, it was quite friendly towards the stranger. The girl walked back to the town and thought about the bull-dog puppy sketch and found out, she love it. It was cute little, ugly thing. It's face wrinkles and folds around it tail was so adorable. She could not wait to pet the puppy.

The girl walked along the path back to the town when she noticed another black and white puppy. It was a tiny puppy but it was sleeping on the path that if not for her hawk eyes, she might just squashed and not know about it. It was quite unsafe for that puppy. She walked closer to it and noticed the bulldog was barking at that tiny puppy, and wagging its tail. The tiny puppy woke up to the sound and barked back at the bull dog and ran towards it. Then only did the girl realized it was one of the seven missing puppy. The Chihuahua, the master's favorite. Quickly, she snatched and put it together with the other three. Three more to go. The puppy must be tired because it did not fight back but instead cuddled with the bull dog. Good for them. They got to sleep and here she was searching for the pup. It was already midnight. The streets were quiet.

The girl went back to her hotel to leave these pups and went on a search for the remaining but she was tired and she felt dirty. Thus, she took a warm shower, wore an oversized black tee that was to her knee-length so she decided to just wear her undies. Grabbing a pair of sneaker and another small portable cage-like pen, she went out for a search but her stomach was grumbling due to her nap and she had only eaten her brunch. It was a miracle how she bear it till now. The girl searched for an open food store and found a small family bakery shop still open. She went in and the bell jingled indicating a new customer which was her. She was greeted by an old grandma with a warm sweet smile that melts her cold façade. Looking at the old grandma made the girl thought back of her one and only memory of her grandmother.

The girl shook her head and gave a small bow of respect towards the bakery grandma and requested whatever was left. The old grandma gave a hearty laugh, telling the former she had just baked a fresh croissant, and the former's stomach growled in agreement. The girl shyly covered her stomach as if telling her stomach to stop growling. The old grandma brought a plate full of croissants and a warm cappuccino. She was grateful for the drink. Her eyes were heavy and tired. The girl looked around the bakery, it was tiny but comfy. It felt just like home then she scoffed at herself, as if she would know what home felt like. She was brought up in a cold family. Her only accompany were her spirits. The old grandma raised one of her eyebrow when she scoffed as if asking something was wrong. The girl just smiled and shook her head. None of them talked but it seemed they understood each other.

As she ate her midnight snack slash her dinner, she read the remaining papers about the remain puppies; Collies and a Dalmatian. The girl thought back of her only pet she had. She left her pet while she was on a trip. She hoped it was fine and a small proud smile appeared on her face. Her pet was similar to her. It had survived many times and suffered a bad past just like her. No wonder, they clicked as soon as they met. Her pet and her understood each other and the thought made her looked at the grandma. She wondered about the old grandma, gazing at her fuss over her bread. She could not stand anymore so she asked, "What's your story, grandma?"

Others might think she was rude but usually, she did not talk like this. However, it was just that, as if she knew the old grandma. The old grandma gave her a mysterious smile.

Then, the old grandma just took her cage-like pen and took it to the back. She came out later, with three puppies that she was supposed to find without sleep. The girl's eyes widened in shock, the old grandma just winked at her and said "They were hungry and was loitering around at the front this afternoon, so I fed them and put them to sleep at the back," and before the girl asked how did the woman found out, she pointed at her stack of papers and then winked at her.

The old grandma freaking winked at her and said, "And, my story is for the next time. Tonight's not it." With that, she went to the back, the girl just stared at the empty space that the woman just occupied and then blinked twice then for the first time since she arrived to Fiore, she laughed heartily. The girl left a few jewels on the table and left the place while taking the puppies with her. The bell jingled again to announce she left.

The girl did not looked back. She did not understand why she knew what the old grandma hinted. It was like they were communicating telepathically. The girl went back to her hotel and took a nap. Tomorrow, she will return these puppies to the owner and took the reward she deserved.

The sun rose and the sunlight shone through the balcony. The girl woke up and rolled on the bed lazily. After preparation, she took all the seven puppies and gave them to Mr.Grey. Mr. Grey thanked her dozens times and gave her a packet of jewels. The girl just nodded her head off and went back to her hotel, her eyes still heavy.
