Xierak's Secondary Magic Training

The waves around the infamous Thunder Island were in a vicious uproar, as the storm above it continued to pelt the island with rain, as well as the signature rain of lightning onto the islands surface. Ontop of one the islands few mountain rises, a lone figure sat in a meditative position. The figure was large, if he were to stand up at his full height he would measure at nine feet eight inches in height, and his weight was equally noteworthy, due to the fact although his appearance was hidden by robes that covered his entire body his heavily muscular frame showed. Xierak sat there waiting for a bolt of lightning to hit him, he was waiting for another thing at the same time however. A few weeks ago he had sent out a stone letter(primarily because paper proved far to weak and small for him to write on) to a mage he knew to be proficient in Lightning magic, a type of magic he sought to train himself in.

Then suddenly a bolt of lightning arced from the sky and struck Xierak, he gritted his teeth under his hood and endured it, trying to find someway to let his body and magic be a conduit to the Lightning itself. “This is the only way… the only way I can use Graviton Fire Core… I have to endure it… to get strong enough to survive and make sure my friends survive…” Xierak then stood up suddenly and tried to grasp the lightning as he sent his magical power to his hand but then the lightning bolt vanished with his hands.

Nightken was floating up one of the mountains on Thunder Island not being effected by the usual lightning storm going on. Finding the person who sent the stone letter trying to grab lightning he couldn't help but speak up about it. "You do know that isn't the proper way to grab lightning right?" He said as he released a small amount of his magic from his hand as a bolt of lightning went straight to it and he held it in his hand before tossing it away. Walking over towards the large man he knew it was gonna take a bit for him to grab lightning bolts, but that wasn't gonna stop Nightken from doing all he can to help. "First off you don't just release magic energy to try grabbing those lightning bolts you need to be simultaneously a positive and negative charge for this to work. As you saw a bit ago I held that lightning bolt in my hand and tossed it aside as if it was nothing. You'll eventually get the hang of it for now just work on making your magic a positive charge and we'll continue from there. Oh by the way I'm Nightken from Fairy Tail." He said as he sat on a nearby rock allowing the large man work on polarity control on his magic. Nightken knew it was gonna take a bit of trial and error for him to get the hang of the polarity beginning part of this training it took him a while to get a hang of it, but once learned it becomes a subconscious thing you do from then on. While watching he pulled out his pack of magic cigarettes and his black lighter with a blue Fairy Tail insignia. Lighting his cigarette he put the lighter and pack away then proceeded to take a hit the exhale a harmless vapor cloud that was quickly blown away.

Xierak retracted his hand when a person with black hair landed on a nearby rock. The stranger then continued to lecture him by initially telling him that wasn’t how you catch lightning, and then Demonstrated himself doing it. He then went on and explained what it would take to catch a lightning bolt, and then told him of focusing on just making his magical power have a positive charge to kick things off. Xierak looked at his hand in response, making my magic power generate in a positive energy flow… Xierak the thought for a moment and the came up with an idea. Xierak then glanced warily at his mentor, “If you strike out against me for what you are about to see… I swear I will turn this entire mountain upside down just to hold you back…” Xierak then pulled off his right glove revealing his dark grey hide, and he went as far to retract the spike revealing the four fingered claw in full. Xierak than concentrated his magical power in the palm of his claw but making sure that it was of a composition that was completely stable with no excess energy was escaping.

Xierak then thrusted his claw upward and as he did a bolt of lightning struck his claw, at first it was held at the claw then it enveloped him completely, however Xierak merely stood there, relying on his thick hide and years of conditioning to see him through being struck by lightning once again.

"Alright now that you've got the feel for generating a positive charge now you need to work on generating a negative charge." He said being unfazed by the large man reveal his hand. Still smoking his cigarette he went to give him a tip on making the negative charge stable. "This part is actually going to be more painful once you attract the lightning since you'll be a large source of the same charge causing all the weaker charged lightning bolts in the nearby area dart straight for you. You need to focus on all the bad things that have happened in your life then draw that energy to the surface once that is done you guide it up your arm to the palm of your hand." While Nightken said this he showed how to do it by putting a hand over his heart and using his left pointer finger he guided something to the palm of his right hand. While he did this black electrical sparks went from his chest to the palm of his hand drawing in at least ten lightning bolts at once, but the lightning seemed to stop five feet from him before he flung the negatively charge electricity away pulling the lightning that was drawn to him away. During this the black lightning that appeared had demonic energy coming from it before it dissipated. Finishing off his cigarette he flicked the butt of it away as it turned into a cloud of harmless vapor that was quickly blown away.

Xierak watched in tense suspicion as Nightken explained how to use his magic and turning intoa negative charge to harness lightning, however the thing that bothered him was that it was black lightning… Lightning that belongs to a demon… Xierak paused on that for a moment but let the matter drop resisting the urge to lash out for not knowing the cases around it. He then continued to do what he was told, focus on all the negative experiences he had in his life and focus it into his magic. Xierak closed his eyes, he knew bring up those feelings wouldn’t be hard considering his known history…

He held up his hand channeling his magical power as well as all the emotions he had from his experiences in Sin, a sphere of dark grey magical power formed in his hand as three bolts of lightning suddenly arced towards it and struck the orb, Xierak then understanding what he had to do next held up his other hand and started to emit the positive magical energy as he slowly brought his hands and the lightning together. Then with great strain he grabbed the bolt of lightning with both hands, he then grunted as it started to sear the remaining glove before letting go with his left hand rearing back and then chucked it across the island. He then let out a snort of satisfaction and looked at his left glove seeing the fabric burned through he sighed and took it off revealing the claw of his left arm as well, “So now what…”

"Now that the training wheels are off its time to get serious here." Nightken said standing up and stretching as four silver lightning great white sharks measuring to twenty five feet in length were suddenly manifested around him. The lightning sharks were clearly solid, but still maintained their electric look. "We'll be doing your spell development through you fighting these four here, but the catch to this is you're not allowed to attack with any non-lightning spells." He said as the sharks swam through the air to a twenty foot area around Xierak. Noticing the defensive look while around Nightken he decided to clear some stuff up before the training began. "Alright first off I'm sure you noticed me using two different styles of lightning. I'm half-demon so that bloodline effects my magic by changing the color and giving off the demonic energy, but from here on I'll only be using my regular silver lightning for your training." He said as he hopped of the rock he was standing on and was floating by generating an electric charge at the base of his feet. Floating out a good thirty feet he simply took a seat in the air to watch how things progress from here. "Oh I almost forgot to mention their bite has an electric charge about eight time stronger than the lightning that was hitting you earlier so do be careful while you work on your spells." Nightken said as he snapped his fingers being the signal for the training to begin causing the four lightning great white sharks to swim towards Xierak.

Xierak stood there as he watched the four lightning sharks circle Nightken, he was uncertain about the man he had asked to be his mentor but one thing was certain, if he had to fight he was going to start off the only way he knew how. “If my normal magic is not an option that leaves me with one thing to rely on at first… then I will rely on the only other thing I can for now!” Xierak then turned around and thrusted both of his claws into the ground and heaved, Xierak growled as the ground started to crack and buckle when suddenly Xierak managed to pull up a gigantic slab of rock twice the size of his own body and hefted the rocky slab in between him and the sharks making sure to slam one side in the ground. When he did Xierak then jumped backwards landing on a cliff below as the sharks crashed into the rock shattering it as they swam through.

Xierak then grunted as he reared back his right arm, “Lets try it atleast once…” XIerak then sent the two kinds of magical power down his right arm as a lightning bolt struck his arm, Xierak then drove his fist down on one of the sharks that kept coming making it hit the ground and slide for a bit before righting itself and flew off, Xierak then tossed off the lightning and leapt high into the air, trying to decide on his next course of action.

Xierak landed on another cliffside as the four sharks turned back for another assault against Xierak. Xierak however stood his ground and raised his right claw into the air, using his own magical power to draw another lightning bolt to his arm this time the lightning enveloped his entire body. As the sharks then closed in Xierak jumped into the air making the four sharks crash into each other. Xierak then fell down the crashing into the sharks and slamming his fist down causing a giant bolt of lightning to shoot up from the ground and causing the Cliffside to erupt in a spray of rocks and debris. After the smoke cleared Xierak could be seen kneeling down in a large crater, smoke was trailing off of his body from not only the lightning, but from one of the sharks that managed to turn its head and bite one of his feet causing a giant surge incredible lightning magic to surge through his entire body.

Xierak knelt there for a moment panting, he then stood up and then jumped over to the area he had started and looked at Nightken through the charred slit of his hood still hiding his head. He then plopped down with a loud thud making the surrounding ground shake for a minute. He then sighed and said, “So then… Whats the next step… because to be perfectly frank… I have no idea how I managed to pull of that last attack…” Xierak the laid back to get a brief moment of rest.
