    Tane skipped along a dirt path on her bare feet in no particular direction. She hummed a cheery tune as she waved a few civilians along the way. The center of the capital Crocus was a cluster of high-rise buildings, it was almost suffocating to walk through. Apparently, that was exactly where she was heading. Right into the heart of Crocus. The young Prestigious felt safe there - knowing that there was a tight security system as the city housed the royal family. The humming came to a stop when she noticed unusual commotion in the distance. Tane tiptoed into an alleyway, then peeked out from the shadows, observing the scene. She wondered what these humans were bickering about in broad daylight. Had there been a robbery? A crime of sorts? Her red orbs flitted from one person to another, noticing the uniformed men - the Rune Knights. How strange.

    Among the Rune Knights was a single men in a different uniform. Hold on. That was no uniform. Those were bombs, attached to his body. Tane gasped in shock, covering her mouth with her right hand. He was threatening to kill himself! And take the rest of the building with him! Tane’s eyes were set on the bombs for a long moment. She could hear the negotiations that the suicidal man had made in the black market with the bomb dealer, the raspy voice that then agreed to sell the weapons. “It is quite a lot you are purchasing. Better do something worth watching,” he had laughed. Tane sucked in breath. The dealer must be watching right now as well. Realising that the Rune Knights were not making progress with stopping the man, she slowly crept out of the alleyway, advancing towards the group of men as unnoticeably as she could.

    The Prestigious halted as soon as she stood next to one of the uniformed knights. She was actually holding her breath until the man turned to ask her business here. “I wish to help negotiate with this man here,” she said, holding up a weak finger to point at the armed human. The Rune Knight nodded at her then at the others who were watching now. Tane skipped towards the man, hands laced at her back as she gave him a small smile. “Hello,” she started, then looked from the Rune Knight to her feet, then to the bomber. “I see that you are having a hard time with your life.” A small crease formed between her eyebrows - the hint of a frown. “There are many of your kind thriving with the same hardships as well. And I know because I have seen these people. I have seen what they are going through.” Tane cleared her throat, now a bit shaky with the attention of all the people in the area.

    The bomber began to listen to her. “You feel that you cannot live anymore. Your life has ended. You have no motivation to continue. Your suffering must end,” she paused. “But you are wrong. You may be freed, but those who remain - those who cared for you. The suffering you had will be passed on to them. What about them? Don’t you care for them? Don’t you love them?” Tane swallowed, blinking and noting the change of expression on the man’s face. “You’re only human. But whatever it is that is bothering, you’ll pull through. Nothing is eternal, nothing. It will end and remember - the darkest hour is just before dawn.” She offered him a small smile. “You’re closer to it than the ‘freedom’ that you are looking to achieve.” In a few seconds, the bomber had begun to tear up, not bothering to strain the river of emotions he had held inside. Quickly yet carefully he removed the bombs from his body and handed them to the Rune Knights. Slow claps broke out as Tane released a sigh of relief.

    People who stood at the entrance of the building brought out money for Tane. She did try to refuse them, but she couldn’t. They demanded her to take it and she did not like to upset people. “Very well,” she said and accepted the jewels. Rune Knights thanked her for the big help. “You are most welcome, knight,” she would smile, nodding at them before leaving with the money. She was glad that she could help. It seemed like it would have been quite a difficult task seeing how the Rune Knights were not as patient or understanding as she was, or they could not think of deep lines like her. Tane skipped her way along a deserted street somewhere in Crocus, searching for more people she could help. It was sunny and she was in a good mood. The money had come to her without her asking for it. This must be a lucky day.
