Break The Siege {Job | Zoe and Melyre}

Nodding at the black-haired mage that stood beside her, Zoe ran towards the direction of Scrouge, her posture in a shinobi position with her back bent forward and arms dangling behind.

Scrouge's expression changed into one of curiosity wondering what the wind mage was planning on doing. Nonetheless, he was not nervous in the least. He was confident he had the abilities to take the both of them down. However, what they had planned was not something that Scrouge had expected.

Raising her arms towards the sky, even though one of them coursed with pain, the brunette bellowed, "Wind Bringer!" The sky turned into a hazy shade of grey at the center right above the three mages. From it released a small tornado which entrapped the fire mage, taking him by shock.

He attempted to coat himself in fire again however, Zoe willed the tornado to blow harder. The pressure of the wind rendered Scrouge's flames useless. Zoe smirked as she saw the surprised look that overcame his once conceited features.

Gesticulating at Melyre, she yelled, "Now, Melyre-san!"

Watching in anticipation as Melyre flung herself into the tornado that Zoe had created, the brunette witnessed the assault on Scrouge. From the looks of it, it seemed as though Melyre had successfully been able to slash him. Zoe could not be sure whether he was defeated or not however, this attack of theirs would render him temporarily unable to move. Though she hoped the former were true.

It seemed as though luck was on their side as when Melyre escaped the tornado, Zoe commanded it to disappear leaving trails of dust all around. The sky was slowly returning back to its original state of a slight hue of orange signifying that it was already sunset.

As the tornado disappeared, Scrouge tumbled to the ground and landed on it in a heap. He groaned in pain as he struggled to move himself. Grinning at Melyre, the brunette beamed, "Yay! We did it! We beat him!"

She attempted to throw her arms into the air as a sign of celebration however, stopped due to the sudden pain that enveloped her arm. Glancing at Melyre, she noticed that the Sabertooth mage was in a same position or perhaps even worse as her leg got hit.

Rushing over to the black-haired female's side, Zoe crouched down to get a closer look at her leg but not before making sure that Scrouge would not be able to move.

"Melyre-san, are you okay? You need to get that treated. How about we ask the town people here? They can treat you whilst I take care of Scrouge; put him behind bars."

"What bullshit?" Said man sprouted out, frustration clear in his voice, "You're not going to defeat me! You can't defeat me! I won't be taken by the council!" Even though he claimed not to be defeated, the truth of the matter was he was badly injured and incapable of moving in his current position. He had over estimated himself not thinking that these girls would be able to defeat him. He cursed himself inwardly for his lack of caution.

Sighing at Scrouge's antics, Zoe shook her head just as she noticed a mob of people coming towards the three mages. Readying herself in a battle stance thinking that they were a part of Scrouge's men, her expression became confused as she noticed that they were not.

The old man who had asked the two girls to take the job stood at the front of all the people and smiled politely towards them, his features laced with gratitude. "Arigato for saving this village. We all owe you a lot. I am the village chief and if it weren't for the both of you, I don't know what would have become of this village by Scrouge's hands. We are very grateful for what you have done. Come, we will treat your injuries and do not worry about Scrouge, we'll hand him over to the authorities."
