The Hunt for the Healer (Geno and Kyll)

OOC: OMG I chose a job with 500 words per post! LET'S DO THIS GENO!

Kyll came out of the guild hall straight to the first mission she signed her and Geno up for. She didn't want to reveal her alternative motives for the mission. Mainly because she was still deciding whether or not to give the healer to the old man. Kyll was rather silent when she walked along the forest floor. Her boots were perfect for hunting and her foot work made her seem like a ninja. She looked over at Geno who was or wasn't doing the same thing. Either way she gave him a mischievous grin. The puppet and closed eyes mage had gone through a lot with in just the first few days of him being there. From Geno terrorizing the village and her putting a sudden end to it to him possessing her bra causing immense amounts of nose bleeds. Then finally they brought in a new mage, Alex. Geno was also a part of the rescue operation to get Kyll her healing magic. She even kissed him on the cheek for being such a hero to her. The idea for the job was a sort of "break" for the two to finally get to know each other. Well, for Kyll to understand the motives behind this pet for Zeno. Kyll was a tad jealous now. Zeno had a pet, Reiki had a pet, and all she had was her frying pan... Twinkie. Which was useless. Kyll really wanted something. Like a bird. A bird would be awesome. The greatest pet for Kyll would be a really smart messenger to send letters two and from the guilds. Of course guild masters would wonder why she was so old school about not using magic, but it was more of a hobby to her to keep to the old ways in many regular tasks. It gave her more self control and a better sense of accomplishment. Plus she needed to work on her calligraphy more. Kyll sighed as she heard a distant "who" to an owl.

Idiots... would go through Geno's head as the two walked along. It was said as fast as it left. Then there was nothing.

OOC: Geno remember we discussed my pet coming into play in this thread hee hee hee.

Kyll sighed as she walked beside the wooden puppet. "So what's it like in the Arcane Realm for you sprites and all." Kyll was still oblivious that Zeno's portal actually pulled her in with him and her spell was given to her while she was in the Arcane realm. The cosmic mage looked out towards the forest. [i]I am half tempted to keep this healer for myself. Mainly because I need it more so than the old man. He's lived a full life... I on the other hand need a healing that will keep the blisters and boils from returning. This might be my answer.[i] Kyll thought to herself. She felt conflicted. If she kept all the healing for herself, she will have failed the job and she would have another 'discussion' with her guild master, but if she didn't she may never have another chance to heal herself of the chaotic magic rejecting her. "I mean... I find it rather suspicious that YOU would be Zeno's darker half...." Kyll said with a grin. "After all you act like a child." She paused. "Like a play thing that Zeno uses."

Geno began to think about a response with his mind brain but then stopped thinking and just started saying stuff.

"I act like a child? Bullshit, it takes years to become as messed up in the head as I am... I HARD WORKED TO GET TO WHERE I AM DAMN IT!!! So yeah I ain't no child babe, let's just say with the way I grew up... if youse was from where I was from you'd be fookin dead. Anyway since you asked... PREPARE FOR EXPOSITION!!! The Arcane Realm is a place where all the beings of energy come from. Back home we got the lords, archons, elementals and genies. Demons and titans and other supernaturals live over there too but they're not natives. Energy eats energy in the arcane realm with the biggest eaters being the lords, that's why they're the lords. I grew up in the elemental chaos, it's basically the rough part of town. Not because of money or anything like that, but power... and no one rages harder than an elemental so the power struggle was always at maximum with them. OK that's enough background information for now let's mov-"

"Finally you shut up." An owl flew up and perched on a branch near where the puppet and his maid were walking. "I mean you did warn us by saying you we're about to launch into exposition but damn... way to ease us into your crappy character development. Next time try to make it a bit more interesting, wood for brains."

"Wow. I think we're gonna need water for that burn."

"Shut up, you guys don't get to talk, you're disembodied voices! AND YOU! I'll have you know that I DO NOT have wood for brains... If anything I have æther for brains, I only have wood for skull... YOU HEAR THAT YOU STUPID... BIRD THING... Gimme a sec." Geno didn't actually do anything but continued to talk to himself. "Hey guys, what's a good insult for an owl? I was gonna call him bird brains but he already called me wood for brains... So you know... That'd be a lame comeback."

"How about beakdouche?!"

"OH! YA! YA! YA! OR DOUCHEBEAK!"

"Hmm... I like the sound of douchebeak... GET OUTTA HERE DOUCHEBEAK THE GROWNUPS ARE WORKING EEER!"

"HELL YEAH! WE TOLD HIM!"

Geno ended up high fiving himself before he began to walk once more.

"Ay, where you think you're goin' don't you be walkin' away when I'm talkin' to you."

"OH! AND WHOOOOOO DO YOU THINK YOU'RE TALKIN' TO BUDDY?!"

"SHUT UP! The name is Eric... Eric von Grathsburger Heidelburg de Leitmein III... Ay man, could you do me a favor..."

"Back Massage?! Foot Massage?! Head Massage?! Neck Massage?! Chin Massage?! Calf Massage?!"

"Yeah!"

"Yeah!

"What?!"

"Fine! By the way I didn't hear anything of that and you're name is Bufkin."

Bufkin will remember that.

Kyll looked up at the owl. "Look it's so biiiiig!!" She said with a giggle. She reached into her obi and took out a small rice ball. "C'mere... You're so cute."

Cute? I'm CUTE?! Look here Simpleton... I'm the largest species of Owl in all of Earthland. I have a set of BEAUTIFUL feathers that make my flight silent. My wingspan is like that of no other owl here in Earthland. And you think I'm CUTE?!

As the owl was trying to communicate it was posing, showing off its body. "Look Geno, it posed to show me how cool it is." Kyll smiled and held the food up. "At least take my rice ball."

The owl tilted its head 90 degrees and flew down to Kyll's arm sitting its raptor like claws into her arm. Kyll tightened her arm as she felt the owl sink into her arm. "Ouch..." Kyll said. The owl pecked at the rice ball then ate the whole thing.

Thank you Simpleton... I enjoy humans presenting me with food. You are far more kind than that sorry excuse for a wooden puppet. It looked over at Geno and squinted its orange eyes.

"So what's your name owl...."

My name is... Eric Von Grathsburger Heidelburg de Leitmein the III All Kyll heard was hoo hoo's.

"I think it said its name is Erol, Geno."

WHAT THE?! NO! My name is Eric Von Grathsburger Heidelburg de Leitmein the III. I'm a noble of my kind! I will not stoop so such a lowly name!

Kyll smiled and put the back of her hand on his head and gently pet the side of the owl's face. "It's settled, Geno, the owl's name is Erol it seems to like it."

I most certainly do NOT! The owl spread its wings then flew off to a branch.

"Hey could you point us in the direction of the healer around this forest?" Kyll asked. "I'll give you another rice ball."

Presenting me with food for directions? What do you take me for...

"It's salmon flavored..."

In that case... follow me... The owl flew off.

Kyll looked at Geno. "It didn't want my rice ball?"

Kyll sighed in disbelief. Then she blinked and looked at him. "You can understand him can't you. Then we must catch him. He might make a good partner not for missions, but for communication." She put the rice ball in her mouth and followed the owl. The forest was rather dense. She had not seen this place so dense before. Something was weird about this part of the woods she never really had gone this far out. Usually all of the normal game was in the first couple miles. It felt like the animals were avoiding this part of the woods altogether. "Okay Geno.. I'm lost, what about you?"

"If you can hear me, then you're going to right way! Screeches could be heard. Kyll never liked feeling clueless, but she could hear the owl's screeches. She only thought the bird was some sort of sign that the woods were forbidden in this area. Probably holy to the monks.

"Yeah I can hear him, he said 'Follow me'. Also bee tee dubs he said his name was actually 'Erol Von Goodburger Hoobastank dang it's Lupin the III' I'm guessing he'd be cool with just Erol for short tho. And now" Said the puppet as it began to stretch it's legs fruitlessly. "I don't know about you but I'm not gonna get beat in a race by a stuck up owl-kun." Geno's body began to fill with the bursting power of the Chariot as he crouched down and jumped toward the screeches of the owl. Geno flew through the air like a rocket completely overshooting the bird. "HAHAHAHA. You're flying skills suck brah." Geno's taunts would have to stop there as a tree felt like interrupting him. "So uncouth. Very commoner. Wow." Lupin the III uttered as he flew passed the puppet. "Do try and keep up I don't have all day to be dillydallying." Geno had pulled himself off after being pancaked on an ancient oak. "You'd obviously never be able to beat me in a race to our destination anyway. You don't know where our destination is." Geno jumped once more after the egotistical owl. "OH YEAH?! JUST WATCH ME!" Geno flew through the air, jump after jump, leap after leap. After a while he couldn't even hear the owl anymore. "Oh shit, I can't hear the owl anymore." Geno was lost. "Aw man. How lame." The voices began to speak up. "Just go back idiot." It was pretty obvious that's all he needed to do. "YEAH, LISTEN TO THE NARRATOR JUST TURN AROUND!" It didn't seem like it was that big a problem honestly. "SHUT UP!" Geno began to just walk back. "I don't even feel like jumping anymore. You guys suck."
