Testing the Strength of Humanity ( Closed )

It was night time. Peace Village. Just after he had finished some irrelevant assignment to receive money, Lyserg had stayed where he was. In the outskirts of the town, he had been waiting. There was a conspicuous feeling that something was about to happen. Not necessarily something big, and rationality pledged that interesting events were unlikely, but seeing that he had time and no where to be, he let one of those rare moments rule in which he gave in to his own instincts. Only a few minutes had passed until he was able to feel a strong presence. It was faint, but as he had concentrated on his environment, he was able to sense its pressure. Waiting silently and without giving off any sort of aura, he had watched a peculiar scenery unfold before him.

It was a massacre. Someone had decided to raid the little village. No, raid was a too fragile term. Someone had rampaged throughout the streets and destructed absolutely everything within the confines of the village. Houses, people, streets and even the library. Nothing was exempt. Fires started to burn as strong magic, that fluctuated in a distorted manner, crashed across the town. A culmination of pure destruction had been summoned by the presence he had felt just before. The presence, that Lyserg decided to wait for. The presence, that Lyserg would decide to approach. He likely had to be careful. He had not yet regained the strength to secure his own existence from obliteration. And the power that was ripping the village apart was able to rip him apart as well. At least in the current state of power.

When the slaughter ended and Lyserg had counted the casualties, he decided to approach the scenery and figure out for himself what had been going on there. This was surely the first event he witnessed that truly grasped his interest in this era. A year had passed, and whilst a war between the group of wizards he had found himself in alongside a dragonic creature and the government had ended just prior to his awakening, Lyserg hadn't heard of anything significant during his time of wake. And now, something had happened.

__________A Few Moments Later__________

He had crossed the distance to the village. Stepping up, he realized that he didn't have a sword with him so going about combat against the black silhouette he spotted was unlikely. Not if it was the cause for this mess. And there it emerged out of the smoke and flames. A man, taller than him. Black clothes. Significantly red eyes. Seemingly unnatural.

Taking in the sense of blight around him, Lyserg tried to categorize its nature. It was certainly divine. But tainted, with what humans usually determined as evil. He quickly came to the conclusion that this man had relations with demonic creatures. Had he signed a contract? Whatever it was, he was likely being used. The creatures that stood above the human race were responsible for chaos enjoyed toying with humans. Lyserg had seen it often enough to distinguish autonomous destruction from someone, or rather something else pulling the strings. Especially because he had scanned this town, and there was absolutely nothing to gain from here. It was illogical to attack precisely this area.

As his eyes took a glance at the man's gaze, Lyserg felt the sensation. The man was currently stronger than him. He would need to choose the following words wisely.

Opening his lips to speak, he took on a non-aggressive stance, but in a manner in which he would still be able to react accordingly if the stranger before him chose to go about impulsive actions. As his own gander sharpened, squinting his eyes, the mutilation of people and demolition of buildings reached their peak as the blaze of fires spread out, taking everything with them.

"Are you responsible for this?"

There was a determined softness in his voice. Although Lyserg didn't want to appear hostile, he embedded a stinging denunciation in his tone. He wouldn't let caution rule over his words as they did over his actions.

Smoke filled the area around him, but surprisingly, it didn't hurt his eyes. He almost didn't notice it at all, until it blocked his vision. He could see a figure coming through the smoke, yet he couldn't make out details. He was sure that no villager was left alive, perhaps he missed one? No, He had a aura around him that made him out to be a mage, and the Peace Village had no mages. So he was an outsider... What did he want? Was he here to bring justice down on him? Alakai scoffed yo himself as this outsider interrupted him.

Well of course he was responsible for all of this, who else would be? Sure he didn't have any evidence of blood or soot on him, but he was still standing there, in the circle or already rotting flesh. The area didn't smell of flesh though, it actually smelled of freshly spilled blood; like you were standing in a pool of it.

Alakai just glanced at this newcomer, " Yes." He didn't say anything other than that, because he didn't need to. He wasn't exactly proud or happy of what he had done, but he felt no guilt about it either. He needed to do it, and this village provided him with no trouble; as he didn't have to fight any mages to get it done. It reminded him of his home, Oak Town, which at the time was so quiet and quaint, unprotected by any magical reasons.

" Who are you?" He asked blatantly while looking off into the horizon, he would have to leave soon, as he was sure the Rune Knights would show up, and he really hated unnecessary trouble. From what he would tell, this man that stood before him was clearly no match for him, and he wondered if he could feel this too. Surely he didn't, or else why would he be standing there.
