Yugi sat on his boat; shirtless as it floated in the river running between the two gigantic sections of Divide Island. The island was aptly named if Yugi did say so himself; on one side of the island; the Graveyard Sea, on the other, the Calm Sea.
Yugi floated in his boat; laying down with his arms wide inside of it; the sun beating down on his chest as his boat rocked back and forth. Even wizards like him could appreciate peace. A flock of gulls flew off in the distance from one of the islands cliffs; Yugi watched them, his one eye following them over the horizon.
The wizard then heard some fisherman nearby; he didn't move, just watched them as their raft went on by. They waved to him, and he nodded. Under different circumstances he might be trying to do them harm; it was nice too not be bothered with such things from time to time.
As he floated by; the Fisherman's raft went out of view. About twenty minutes went by; as Yugi began to doze off he felt a presence nearby. The water itself began to stir; as Yugi sat up in his boat. All around him, several different Mermaids popped up out of the water, most with different color hair; and hairstyles. All of them wearing clam shells for bra's.
Yugi blinked once; as the wizard floated in his boat; sitting upright shirtless.
"Ladies..." Yugi could only think to say as he floated there. "Too what do I owe the pleasure? I've only read stories of your kind..." Yugi was probably the most knowledgeable monster-lore wizard in all of Fiore; second only perhaps to Warden and Demons themselves. He was extremely interested in these Mermaids, his one eye would show a certain amount of lust and interest both combined. In truth, it was his crazed desire to fully understand and even control them if need be.
"Well, we never get any visitors out here....." a blonde mermaid started, flirting with Yugi as a mermaid with red hair bopped her on the back of her head with an open hand.
"Well...most people who come down here aren't like you, you're one of those wizards right?" as Yugi nodded to her silently, the ginger mermaid continued. "Ah, yes. It's been forever since we felt one like you; it feels like a strange buzz in the waters energies. But...we need your help."
"You are in no position to ask anything of me, woman." Yugi said with a scoff; leaning back in his boat fully again. "Why would I bother."
"Well----we found something." one of them with black hair commented. Yugi looked over toward her; as his boat floated slowly with the mermaids circling his boat.
"Something? Oh---how interesting." Yugi commented in a droll manner. As ample as their breasts and figures were; Yugi thought of enslaving them for a day just to have some 'fun' with them and too teach them a lesson; because they were getting extremely annoying.
"Yes, it's a book." Yugi's attention was hit spot on as he wondered what in the world a book would be doing out in the Southern most regions of Fiore; away from any civilization. He also wondered how it would've ended up in the water for the mermaids to find.
"Really? A book way out here in the middle of nowhere, for the squirrels to read?" Yugi motioned towards some of the trees on either side of the river. "Take me too this book." as soon as he said it; two of the mermaids grabbed onto his boat from behind and pushed him up the river running through the two sides of the island. Eventually; they curved him towards the side of the island in the Graveyard Sea and into a shimmering cove; a lake with a waterfall, several rocks to rest on as well.
Yugi would step out of his boat and into the shallow cove waters; surprising some of the mermaids as his black hair matted around his face. One of the mermaids seemed to swim underneath the waterfall, and then back up a few moments later; something black in her grasp.
She swam over to Yugi and handed over the book. It was soaking wet; yet the words on the pages were clear. He could sense Solid Script Magic had probably been used within the ink. As he opened the large black tome to 'Page 1'; scanning it's words as quickly as he could. He realized he was holding some kind of ancient Poetry book. Everything each sentence; rhymed.
He looked extremely curious as he stood in the shallow cove; surrounded by Mermaids, holding a book. His wet hair didn't even bother him; as shirtless he stood; beginning to read out various rhymes from the book as the mermaids leaned on rocks and stared at him dreamily.
