Fuujin and I both drank a lacrima milk before this mission.

Shuhei yawned loudly as he opened his eyes to gaze upon the morning sky.  The birds sang their morning tune and the gentle breeze ruffled the tree leaves some, creating a very tranquil atmosphere which Shuhei very much enjoyed.  The White Wizard let out a gentle sigh and stretched out his arms and legs and then placed his arms back under his head and bent one knee, laying the other flat.  Bump!  Shuhei's peaceful morning was abruptly disturbed as the stage coach (on the roof of which he was riding) hit a rock and the white wizard was bounced off of it, landing face first on the dirt road.  So much for tranquility, he thought... With a grunt, he pushed himself up off the ground and got up on to his feet.  "Damnit, I was really comfortable..."  He said as he cracked his neck and rubbed his head.  He looked down to see the rock sticking out of the ground, which the stagecoach hit causing Shuhei to be bounced.  Shuhei growled and swung his leg backwards and then kicked the stone with the intention of kicking it off the trail, but unfortunately what was buried beneath the trail was much larger than what was showing on the surface, and Shuhei's foot came to an abrupt halt as his toes were crushed against it.  he cried out in pain and held his foot as he hopped on the other.  "Damnit damnit damnit damnit DAMNIT!"  After a moment of hopping he put his other foot down and sighed as he noticed the stage coach leaving him behind.  "Damnit, wait up!"  He yelled as he started to chase it down.

Shuhei usually traveled on foot, though this time he required the stage coach to lead him to his destination.  A rusty looking house in the middle of nowhere, where an old man named Aiamu Ryu lived alone (or so they were told.) The Stage Coach made a trip to the mans house once a month to deliver supplies because the senile old man never left his house, but was apparently quite rich which obviously made the trip worth while for the White Wizard, who was very bad with his money... "This better be worth it."  Shuhei said as he finally caught up to the coach.  He was somewhat moody at this point, his morning wasn't going so well.  Though hopefully that would change once they've arrived at their destination.  Shuhei hopped up on to the bench on the back of the coach and leaned back, putting his hands behind his head again.  He guessed they were only an hour or so from their destination based on the description the driver gave them of where the place was...  Either way, Shuhei probably had enough time to have another short snooze before they arrived.

Elen rested in the clouds as they carried her high above the land.  Black clouds that hid her in the night and white ones now that it was day.   Elen watched from on high from her lofty throne of clouds,  the actual shape they took was subject to change but the shape of a large chair suited her most often.  Never as long as she could remember had Elen be able to sleep,  the expression 'sleeping on a cloud' meaning precious little to Elen.  One of the few people capable of literally sleeping on a cloud was incapable of sleep in it's entirety.
So she floated,  eyes cast downward watching Shuhei travel below her atop the roof of a carriage,  sleeping through the night.  There was little else to divert her attention through the uneventful night besides keeping a watch.   An easy enough task for her to do in passing,  as her eyes could easily read the land far below just as Shuhei himself could easily make her out from among the clouds with their shared gift of acute vision and ability to process it.

Her thoughts strayed widely while she glazed over the sight,  paying little attention to the happenings of the carriage having lost herself in her imaginings of lustful encounters and flowing drink.  A pleasant smile crept across her face as in her mind she was being fed overly large grapes and small plums at the hands of a multitude of well muscled men and voluptuous women.   But she was snapped out of her reverie when her eyes though so glazed caught the movement of Shuhei tumbling off the back of his carriage to plant that face of his roughly into the dirt,  that firm rear of his sticking up into the air at her for a moment before he recovered.  Though disturbed she was well aware her fantasies were fantasies and the scene below was both entertaining and real.  She laughed at the little dance of a stubbed toe and caught up with the carriage.   Elen smiled pleasantly down at the scene,  her cheek resting on cloudstuff with one hand hanging off of it swinging in a light air current she permitted.

Elen could see the house from her view point,  being several thousand meters in the air clustered among the low lying natural clouds.  It was easily around an hours travel away,  perhaps a half an hour from her vantage.  They'd be arriving soon enough.  When you're patient enough to wait all night all on your lonesome she could hardly muster the enthusiasm to rush off just because she could see the destination.  Instead,   Elen stood up and brushed herself off to fix her attire.  It wouldn't do for a mage of Blue Pegasus such as her to appear unkempt.  Though such was a relaxed idea when it came to the men.  A little rough appearance never hurt to give them a certain appeal.   Her white skirt,  top,  her gold bands and ribbons,  it was all in check.  As always,  but heaven forbid the one time she did not check be the time something was out of place.

Unfortunately, after stubbing his toe the throbbing pain that lingered prevented the white wizard from snoozing along the way and only subsided as they reached their destination.  The coach came to a slow halt in front of a two story squarish run down building.  The shingles were peeling and the paint was cracked and chipping.  Shuhei rotated his head to look and wasn't so impressed.  He had his doubts whether or not this guy was actually as rich as they say and hoped that he and Elen hadn't wasted their time.  After a long yawn and a stretch, Shuhei hopped off of the back bench of the stagecoach.  He proceeded to do some more stretches, leaning to the side and extending his arm over his head and then doing it again reverse.  He looked up towards the sky and spotted Elen, floating about the clouds.  He knew that she could see him as clearly as he could see her so he waved at her, beckoning her to descend back down to the earth to join the rest of the mortals.

He then made his way to the front door of the run down house in the middle of nowhere.  the front yard was shaded by the surrounding trees and there seemed to be a sense of ominousness about the place.  Shuhei looked around the door for some sort of bell or knocker, though to no surprise the knocker was on the ground.  "He can hire mages but he can't afford a decent contractor to fix the place up."  He sighed as he went to knock and after one firm knock on the door, it fell inward and slammed on the floor of the house.  "How bout that."  The driver of the stagecoach called out to Shuhei as he began to unload some supplies he meant to drop off to the old man.  "Go right on in, old man Ryu won't mind!"  Shuhei shrugged and proceeded to step in to the house, walking over the fallen door and as if the owner hadn't heard the falling door, Shuhei cried out.  "Anyone home?"  He scratched the back of his head as he decided to wait for Elen to join him.

The Realm of Dragons [Shuhei & Fuujin] 9HvTJou

By the time they arrived at the house Elen was sitting on the edge of her cloud with her feet dangling over the empty space of a very long drop to the ground below,  glancing admittedly a little anxious to be done with this not quite so little trip.  She watched the proceedings unfold from her place until Shuhei beckoned her down.   They couldn't communicate verbally,  at least not without magic,  but visual cues served nicely a form of communication she doubted many others at all could replicate at such distances as this.

At barely a thought the cloud upon which she sat became as insubstantial as nature intended and she dropped through to the ground below,   wisps of white cloudstuff trailed behind her in two narrow lines marking where she utilized a bit of influence to adjust her path and regulate the air around her enough that her clothing was both unmolested and she descended with comfort.   Twenty seconds later she broke her fall with a little burst of a cloud a dozen or so meters above her landing spot and a final ripple of white radiating out from below her with naught but the sound of the air.

She didn't touch the ground,  but puffs of clouds on her back and ankles shaped after the manner of wings supported her and she glided quietly after Shuhei as he approached the door.   Elen had to shake off a shiver of disquieted nerves that crept up her spine at the sudden slam of the large door falling over.  It did look worn enough that she might have expected it,  but she didn't until it was already falling over.   The state of disrepair was worrisome to Elen, was the old man who lived here even alive at this point? Or did he just not care about presentation.

At the delivery man's reassurance Shuhei entered the building first and called out for anyone who might still service this old place,  if any.   Elen entered in after him,  more slowly since she took her time to view the insides before entering,  cautiously rounding the still standing half of the double-door'd entry way and prodding at the fallen half with one toe as if it might be diseased.   How decrepit.  She thought,  mentally comparing the establishment to Castle Grey but that was hardly fair.  So far.

Shuhei crossed his arms as Elen glided in behind him. "Nice place huh?" He said as he strolled to the left down a hall at the end of which he could see a very brightly lit room with a few book cases against the west wall of the chamber as well as a couple of dusty sofas. Upon entering, he'd immediately noticed the gaping hole in the ceiling at the northern end of the chamber, the reason for it being so bright in this particular room. A rat was spooked off of the sofa as Shuhei walked further in to the room, taking note of how disgustingly dusty it was and riddle with rubble from the ceiling caving in. Though what caught the White Wizards attention the most was a single book in the center of the center shelf of the center case, that seemed to stand out amongst the rest. It had no dust in front of it or on top of it, hinting that it was the only book to have been removed from the shelf in quite some time and also seemed to be more worn than the others, suggesting that it was read often. Shuhei removed it from the book case and examined the bright red hard cover for a moment, admiring the design and started to read the title aloud. "The Realm-" Though he was interrupted by the cane of the old man being swung down towards him from behind.

    "Have at thee!"

The old man with a long grey beard, frizzy gray hair and bifocals yelled as he swung his cane, which the White Wizard quickly swung himself around to the side to avoid. "Stand still thief!" Shuhei circled and faced the old man, holding the book in front of him to use as a shield against the cane. "Wait! we're not thieves, you hired us!" The old man continued to swing his cane toward Shuhei which he continuously avoided by stepping side to side, ducking, hopping and pirouetting. "I'd remember something like that! Do you take me for a fool?! Now put down my book!" Cornered at the opposite side of the room beside the hall Shuhei walked in from, Shuhei held the put above his head as the old man held the cane against Shuhei's throat. "Ok ok!" Shuhei put the book down on the coffee table beside him and held up his hands. He didn't want to hurt the old man because he looked quite fragile, despite his swordsmanship skills. "A little help Elen?" Shuhei called out, hoping she could talk some sense in to the old fart.

The Realm of Dragons [Shuhei & Fuujin] 9HvTJou

Whilst following behind Shuhei she was grateful that she didn't need to touch the ground,  as she could see ungodly amounts of small insects,  along with the not so small variety,  with all manner of pellets of fecal matter.    Elen was certain she saw a few mushrooms growing in the corners,  with viscous looking patches of a black mold.   Instinctively,  she paid special attention to reinforce her own little atmosphere around herself just to be extra careful to avoid foreign contaminates.   Heavens know there was many to be had here.   She shivered and brought her knees up to her chest and bundled herself up into a ball.

"This place...  are you sure this old man can pay us?  No sane man could live in this repulsive mess"  Elen said softly,  mostly to herself with little care to actually being heard or not.   A little fly buzzed too close to her face and with a scowl a little crack of lightning,  much like an uncommonly potent static reaction,  sent the repulsive little creature hurtling into the wall.    Elen shivered again but followed Shuhei in silence to find what sort of senile fool could bear to leave a place in such a state while still calling it a home.  She was truly curious.   She imagined a figure with a hunched back with a cane with a mouth full of worms eating a live rat and one eye bigger then the other,  to stare while the other drifted off lazily.

Newly minted image of what their employer might look like,  Elen drifted off to the left side of the room following a trail in the dust while Shuhei split off to investigate a book she noticed had seen use, which obviously Shuhei had seen as well.   On Elen's side she noted relatively recently crumpled papers and a discarded pen.   She sat cross legged in the air behind a couch low enough to avoid touching the ground while still within easy reach of this pile.   She extended a hand to shuffle through the papers,  bending the atmosphere around her in a manner to manipulate them without dirtying herself.    It seemed to be babbling text,  and she couldn't make sense of it before she heard a scuffle and she lifted herself up to see what the cause.

She was relieved to see the man wasn't horrifying.  He looked quite old.  Small,  balding,  he had glasses and a faded suit but was most humorously assaulting Shuhei with a cane.   Sure the little man couldn't do anything to Shuhei without him allowing it to happen,  Elen smiled and floated nearer to observe until otherwise necessary to intervene in some way.   With Shuhei holding his hands up in defeat to the coot and at his request,  Elen laughed aloud now in a pleasant tone that captured the old man's attention.   Still holding his stick at Shuhei's throat,  he saw her and his eyes widened a measure.

Elen winked as she blew him a kiss.  Immediately he dropped to his knees with the racket of his cane hitting the floor.   HRK!  With a clutch of his chest he fell to the ground and twisted to maintain a visual on this radiant angle before him.  A wide smile painted his face as he stared dumbly at her lost in an overwhelming flood of emotion.

Shuhei stared dumbfoundedly at the geezer laying on the floor and slowly lowered his hands and stepped up from against the wall. "Good going Elen." Shuhei scratched the back of his head, unsure if the old man was having a heart attack or not. He knew Elen was a ten, but didn't think she'd have this sort of an effect on a man even if he'd been alone in the wilderness all this time. "Hey, are you alright?" Shuhei said as he knelt down to get a closer look at the guy to make sure he wasn't in any real pain or anything, but as soon as he did so the old Geezer leaped up from the floor as if defying gravity, shoving Shuhei on to his ass and swiftly approached the lovely Elen. He adjusted his bifocals as he stared at her. "Ooooooooooh" He gawked at her for a moment, leaning in uncomfortably close to her, close enough that she could see the mushroom growing from his ear and that odd looking piece of, something stuck in his mustache. "You must be the mage I ordered, heh heh." His mouth opened and he began to drool a little bit from the side of his mouth, though his gawking was quickly put to an end when Shuhei threw a piece of debris at his head. "Hey old man! What exactly do you think mages are for? We're here about the dragon!"

The old man rubbed his head where there was now a large red bump and growled a little bit as he looked back towards Shuhei. Though his expression changed abruptly to a slightly happier one as what Shuhei just said registered in his perverted old mind. "Oh, my dragon! You're here about my Dragon! Come one then, what are you waiting for?" He ran past Shuhei and cut a corner in to a slightly cleaner sitting room. "Come on then I'll make you some tea!" Shuhei raised an eyebrow. "Is this guy for real?" He said under his breath as he got up on to his feet and dusted himself off. With a sigh he looked up at Elen as the sound of the old man tossing pots and pans around a kitchen echoed through the hall. "Lets just get this over with." He said as he made his way in to the other room.

Shuhei seemed worried for a moment but Elen didn't say anything,  as anything she'd say would be pointless in a short while.  Knowing he was okay,  the man wasn't fit with a heart attack,  not in the literal sense.   Elen only smiled in waiting while Shuhei fretted over the old man for some moments longer and...  there it was.   The old man explosively came up to his feet and shoving through everything in his way.    Though,  Elen was less than please to have the coot invade her space.   Her 'bubble' as it were.   If she wasn't protected she was sure she'd feel the now dubbed 'creepy old man''s unpleasant and undoubtedly revolting breath.   She wrestled her nerves down as every muscle in her body wanted to rebuke the little perv.   Oh yes,  she could see that in his eye,  in the drool that frothed at his mouth.   The sky rumbled with the sound of distant thunder straining to get a chance to whack the man.

Fortunately,  Shuhei intervened with a well deserved scrap of wood to the head.  Just a toss,  but enough to give him a goose-ache.   Elen sighed with relief as his attention was diverted,  though she was lost in self-checking and mental repair,  taking tabs on her state of balance and control on the sky.    That.   That was unpleasant.  Elen was sure she saw a mushroom growing out of his ear. And those eyes, what he seemed to be implying with that statement of his. The mage he ordered? Just what did he think mages were for! Elen was sure she heard Shuhei say that already but it merited repeating. She stifled a round of bile that threatened to invade her mouth.

    Ugh.

The stress was likely clear on her face when she came to at Shuhei's rhetorical questioning and she followed begrudgingly behind him into some sort of kitchen area that at least looked like it might be inhabitable in some third world country.   A pot thrown into a corner seemed to still have remnants of some long ago meal festering with in it while another on a counter seemed to have cobwebs inside of it.   Great.   Just great.   Elen feared she may not survive this ordeal,  though she managed to keep her current line of thought from marring her expression behind a twitch of her eye when she saw was was undoubtedly a centipede crawling in the silverware drawer that hung open.

Shuhei pulled out a chair from the moldy table and sat himself down. Shuhei was raised by a Dragon in the wilderness so he'd dined in worse places, (Not that much better though.) so it didn't bother him as terribly as it did Elen. The old man was rooting through drawers and cabinets, scrounging for ingredients to throw in to the kettle for his "tea" as he called it. Glasses, plates, pots and silverware were all flying around the kitchen was he seemed to be tearing it apart to gather the proper tea making necessities. He pulled some leaves from a branch that had grown through a crack in the wall and some herbs from a jar he found that he hadn't seen in years. The two mages knew he hadn't seen it in years because he exclaimed, "I haven't seen this in years! It'll make some good tea." Shuhei locked eyes with Elen and raised his eyebrows. It would be better if they didn't see what he was throwing in the kettle. Some grass growing from between the floor boards, some mushrooms from the sink (and his ear.) and finally a tree root that was also growing from the floor. He crammed it all in to the same kettle, turned on the stove and waited for it all to boil up in to a nice little brew. "You're in for a real treat!" He exclaimed as steam began to bellow from the kettle and soon started to whistle. Not long after that, the old man placed tea cups in front of the two mages and poured them each a healthy (or unhealthy) amount of tea and then sat down across from them.

Shuhei glared down at the bubbling brew and gulped as he readied himself to be polite and drink it. He glanced up towards Elen, realizing that he would have to be the first one to take the plunge. He turned his head back down to gaze upon the cup and its cloudy waters and slowly, he picked it up holding it to his face. He felt as though he were standing on a tightrope over an enormous canyon. He shouldn't have looked down, but he did, and with much hesitation he took his next step, and sipped the tea. He waited for a moment, and then another. He raised an eyebrow as he discovered that to his surprise, the tea did not taste all that bad, and the taste actually seemed to be getting better. "Well? How is it?" The old man asked with a wide smile. Shuhei looked at the old man and nodded as he raised his glass, gesturing that it was "pretty good." He took another sip and then looked at Elen, waiting for her to take her next step.

For as keen as Elen was of experiencing new pleasures she was triply so avoidant of unpleasantness, and the situation she found herself in was very, very unpleasant. She died a little inside as she tried mentally to block out the racket of old pots and dishes clatter and clank about the kitchen in the wake of the over enthusiastic old man who himself was very unpleasant she found. She might have told him that it was unnecessary, but among the noise and those shrooms in his ears... well, the words died before leaving her tongue and Elen found herself sinking into a cushion of billowy cloudstuff in indignation with a haughty little huff.

She turned away from the old man when she quickly decided that she didn't want to see the senile fool throw together whatever poison he was concocting. The job paid better than most but she had the sinking feeling that it was not enough to endure this grotesque display. When the mixture was complete and the man set teacups before them and Elen was grateful that at the least he seemed to have rinsed them off. With the tea poured and steam rising she chanted over and over to herself that the heat would have killed contamination- though she knew that wasn't her problem and she didn't quite believe herself even if it was.

She looked distastefully at the tea cup and gave Shuhei a look, waiting for him to go first. She knew she'd have to resign herself but she waited anyway in hopes that a wyvern would crash through the wall, a dark mage would hurl fire at them, anything to use as an excuse to leave the tea and maybe 'accidentally' in her haste spill it over or use it as an improvised weapon for scalding. It was not to be, however, and when Shuhei had sipped a few times and didn't die she felt that it wouldn't be prudent of her to wait any longer. Elen felt like she'd rather cuddle a shark then ingest this in all honestly probably toxic tea, but she took her first sip and found it to taste much like dirty water. Dirty, dirty water. Elen coughed a little and splutter a few drops of the hot liquid but stifled the rest of her cough and made the save. She was forced by the cough in her throat to take another too-large sip to try to kill the damnable reaction.

Her stomach churned and she set the teacup back down on the table feeling very weak, and a headache was coming on. Probably just from the stress, or a little worryingly a product of this filth-tea. When she set the teacup down however the old man looked a little wounded. Dammit.

"It's... just a little too hot for me now is all..." She reassured him, feeling stupid as she said it. A weak excuse. Tea was supposed to be hot, you blow it a little and take light sips. The brain-addled old man with any luck wouldn't catch the err.

Shuhei chuckled a little bit in a rather fake sort of way as Elen gave it her all to keep the tea down.  He could see the displeasure written on her face, but was gald that she had at least tried it.  The old mans smile sort of faded as Elen put her glass down and didn't comment on how wonderful it was.  Though Shuhei quickly drew the attention of the easily distracted old man from her on to the matter at hand.  "So, about the job mister-"  "Sir!"  the old man interrupted.  "Aiamu Ryu, at your service!"  Shuhei raised an eyebrow and stared at him with his mouth open as 'Sir' Aiamu Ryu stood up from his seat and bowed before the two mages and then sat back down as he formally introduced himself.  The white wizard cocked his head to the size a little bit as he began to realize that some things had changed around Sir Aiamu Ryu.  As if speaking his name had suddenly made the room lighten up slightly.  "Now on to business eh?"  He continued.

"You see, I've lived in this manor for over ninety years and I've taken good care of it, as you can plainly see."  Shuhei cocked his head to the side as he stared blankly at the old man, or rather past him.  The grass, branches and roots all seemed to slowly recede from the walls and floor and the cracked and the crack lines from the chipped paint seemed to be disappearing.  A slight woozy feeling overcame the white wizard and he seemed to have a slightly harder time focusing on what Aiamu Ryu was saying to him.  "A red apple!" and in fact was missing a great deal of what the old man was saying to him.  "Hated thunder..."  Shuhei held his head as the paint became a bright orange and the rest of the room began to shift as well.  "What's going on...?"  Shuhei would say quietly as the old man continued speaking.  "My Dragon was white and black but mostly white you see, like a panda!"  Shuhei quickly stood up from the table as the entire room seemed to grow in size and a chandelier appeared out of nowhere.  "Elen, do you...?"  He asked to see if she was seeing the same.

Despite his disappointment the oldie was drawn in by Shuhei to start getting down to business. Announcing himself as 'sir' Aiamu Ryu bowed courteously at the two. Curious as Elen didn't think this guy would be capable of anything so civilized. But he bowed all the same and made Elen just a bit more responsible for being amicable on her end. She eyed her cup of tea and decided she wasn't quite that responsible. She drank enough already to make her want to hurl. No. There would be no more tea, but Elen gave a polite dip of her head in acknowledgement. She also did her best to keep from reacting when he said he kept good care of the place. That was a laugh.

But her attention was diverted to Shuhei who seemed to growing light in the head. There is a pun in there somewhere, she thought to herself. Perhaps he's not taking the tea as smoothly as he seemed, Elen thought. Glad she wasn't the only one who realized how disgusting this whole thing is. But Shuhei seemed to be more distressed then a little grossed out and his sharp eyes seemed to lose focus and he looked confused or disoriented. Elen placed a hand on his chest and on his opposite shoulder to her to steady him. Looking concerned, Elen didn't pay too much attention to the old guy as she was more ready to blow a new hole in this building at a moment's notice in case he needed some emergency healing- which she couldn't do without the sky.

Elen turned to scowl at the old Ryu with some words for the geezer but those words died on her tongue when he seemed more refined and for some reason the place didn't seem so filthy anymore. Instead she rubbed the palm of her hand against her temple, eyes closed as they seemed to be taking in too much information and caused her strain. Bastard poisoned us!, She thought and when she opened her eyes about ready to level the place she was taken aback at the shift in scenery. The ruins becoming a noble estate. She growled under her breath certain it was false. An illusion. But her head felt foggy and wracked with a hammering headache causing her to stumble a little and fall from her upright position to lay on her back floating on her cloud looking up wide-eyed at the new chandelier spinning above them... or at least it seemed to be spinning in Elen's eyes, the whole damn room was.

Though Shuhei initially thought his body felt strange, it was solely the psychological effect of his mind being incapable of comprehending the changes going on around him.  Old man Aiamu smiled and chuckled a bit as the two wizards seemed to be acting irradically.  Though his smile quickly flipped as the red book from the old mans library, which he did not want Shuhei taking fell out Shuhei's his robe as Elen placed her hands on the White Wizard, accidentally causing it to fall out.  As the two mages made their way in to the dining room, Shuhei had snatched it and hid it in his robe, believing that it had some relevance to their mission.  The three glared down at the book, titled "The Realm of Dragons" and Aiamu quickly stood up from his beautifully carved arm chair at the head of the long and shiny dining table (that now had a magnificent bouquet centerpiece which appeared out of nowhere in the center) and shouted at the mages.  "What do you think you're doing with that!?"  Shuhei quickly gathered his wits, or so he thought... As soon as he lifted his head to give the old man reply, he noticed something moving behind Aiamu.

A very large silvery reptilian tail moving around the corner at the end of a long hallway behind the old man.  Shuhei's eyes widened a bit.  "It's there!"  He exclaimed as he grabbed the red book with one hand and Elens wrist with the other, dragging her behind him as he chased after the silver tail.  They passed Aiamu Ryu too swiftly for him to grab either one of them.  "Wait, my book!"  He cried as the two mages swiftly made their way through the hall and cut around the corner only to find themselves in yet another long hallway at the end of which was the silver tail, going to the left at the T at the end of the hallway.  "Tell me you see that Elen!"  Shuhei yelled as he continued to drag Elen behind him.

With her vision swimming Elen couldn't be bothered to respond to anything, she just let herself get pulled along by Shuhei easily as she weighed nothing floating on her little cloud with her eyes now closed to block out the world. After this Elen decided that it'd be best if she took some serious effort into finding a way to negate poisoning. Eventually. Until then she'd be eyeing everything offered to her with suspicion after this. She couldn't even feel the inertia of movement being dragged by Shuhei, her little self contained 'bubble' hovering just millimeters away from her skin unseen kept her at ease.

She recovered enough when a she heard a question tossed at her that with tender eyes she turned to lay flat on her stomach looking forward, her right hand out and taken by Shuhei pulling her along. She didn't quite see anything, except that the floor, the walls, it was all blurry. She wondered if this was what it was like to people with normal sight. Then felt a stab in her heart, what if she didn't recover and was stuck with normal-person vision? She felt a new round of nausea. Defiantly however she shifted to sit cross legged staring forward in stubborn resistance against the idea that she was impaired.

After a few seconds it leveled out and she could see what the fuss was about, what Shuhei was chasing. Chasing tail. A silver tail. Lizard like it seemed, and it was always ahead at the next turn despite the size of the hall or room they passed through the tail was always at the next bend. It didn't seem right but Elen didn't say anything, letting herself be pulled along like this content to let others do the work for her when she didn't have to. Particularly when it would be more work to tell them otherwise when they're already doing it.

The Realm of Dragons [Shuhei & Fuujin] Empty Re: The Realm of Dragons [Shuhei & Fuujin]

Post by Mifune 6th August 2013, 5:45 am

Shuhei continued to follow the elusive tail around each bend, turn and corner. The length of the hallways and the sheer number of them seemed to be quite impossible, considering the size of the run down home they first laid their eyes on. They began to curve and twist sharply and despite the length of each hall and the number of turns they took, there were no doors to take them out of the labyrinth of unending corridors and had only an uncatchable tail to guide them. Shuhei grew nervous and his pace accelerated as he tightened his grip around Elens hand slightly. He couldn't risk letting go of her, less she fall behind and loose herself in the maze. The White Wizard put all of his faith in the entity that was leading them. The magically shifting mansion grew ever brighter as they chased what they believed to be a dragon, until finally they reached an end to it all. Shuhei cut a corner too rapidly to see what it was he was running in to and the two wizards fell in to what appeared to be a vast and dark nothingness to which there seemed to be no end. Lights of all colors whizzed passed them as they seemed to accelerate and grew even brighter and brighter. Still Shuhei held on to Elens hand, desperate not to let go of his partner. Soon the light enveloped them and there was no sight nor sound or even feel, only blankness.

How long it lasted was beyond him, but when Shuhei opened his eyes again he saw grass and oak trees. He clenched his hand and grasped grass, realizing he was lying face down in a small clearing in a forest, which was less spooky than the one he thought he was in. He rolled over and sat up, rubbing his head he wondered how it was he got to where he was and also where Elen had gone. His memory up until they fell through the darkness was quite fuzzy and he grew somewhat worried. He stood up and looked around for his female companion. "Elen!" He called out, hoping to get an answer, but instead heard ominous whispers behind him. He quickly turned to face the voices but saw nothing. He noticed that he felt quite groggy, almost like he had a drink or two too much before bed. "What happened...?" He asked himself as he rubbed his head again, also noticing that he had a slight bump on the side that he was laying. "Well this is unfortunate..."

The Realm of Dragons [Shuhei & Fuujin] Empty Re: The Realm of Dragons [Shuhei & Fuujin]

Post by beets 6th August 2013, 11:17 pm

Elen raced weightlessly down hallways and long corridors pulled along behind Shuhei as he ran chasing after the tail of what at this point Elen had to assume was a figment of their imagination, and perhaps Shuhei was seeing something other than a lizard tail like Elen saw.  She couldn’t say for sure, but just how many times can whatever creature it is perfectly round each corner at exactly the right moment in comparison to them no matter the length of the hall or room they pass through?  And just how many hallways does this bloody place have?   They had to of passed at least a dozen by now.

Shuhei, dedicated to the pursuit, gripped Elen’s hand tighter as he exerted more effort in pushing out more speed and in the rush they made a hasty round of a corner without slowing,  Elen floating up and against the wall with the momentum but it was only for a second- because that wall disappeared as they broke through some weakened veil of reality and fell through blackness.   It explained some things to Elen,   why they had been running for so long and the tail always being ahead of them.   She guessed the place was creating itself as they moved, generating each new hall ahead of them in an endless loop until with Shuhei’s speed they had made it to the end before the next could be generated.      Was there something in this mansion that screwed with reality?  Was it the old man himself?

There was the small matter of falling to attend to presently, however.   In passing into the darkness her cloud seemed to have abandoned her, like it got caught up before entering.  Her flight did rely on an atmosphere, perhaps in this void there was nothing for her to work with and what she’d already had was left behind.  Well damn

Elen slowly became aware of holding something in her hand but she was confused as to what it was.  A teacup.  She thought, on closer inspection bringing the fragile white cup closer to her face.  A silly gesture, she could see it just fine from a lot farther away then that.  But she did it anyway.   A curious thing,  this teacup.  So white and petal-shaped.  Elen took a dainty sip of her steaming cup.  It tasted of raspberries.   She heard a clink somewhere ahead of her and saw that she was sitting at the end of a long table draped in a white cloth and set with many plates and further cups.  On the other end of the table to herself was a peculiar creature.  It’s body white and furry,  with features like that of a hare including it’s long ears.  But it was strangely scaled in places with spines protruding from it’s shoulders and along it’s back, sticking through a purple suit it wore.  Presumably male,  it wore a top hat through which two antler like horns protruded.    It had pinked a few white cubes into his drink,  stirred it elegantly and took a sip with it’s large mouth.  She could see two large teeth like a rabbits,  but it was framed by two more long sharp canine-like teeth with many smaller points  lining it’s mouth.

It inhaled deeply taking in it’s tea as though savoring it.    It was a very well dressed creature,  causing her to turn her attention to her own state of dress.  She was thoroughly disappointed to find she was not as lavishly dressed.  Quite in fact the only thing she was wearing was a yellow bow tie tied around her neck.   That was strange.  She felt like she was missing something.  Her head hurt for a moment,  aching,  her thoughts clouded.  That’s right,  I was… wearing something…   White.  My tunic.  Vi.  Where have my things gone?   Elen stood,  nerves running.  How did she get here?   Light.  Darkness.  Halls.  The old man.  She was at the manor,  for a job.   Where did Shuhei go?   White clouds gathered around her,  obscuring her body.   The rabbitbeast looked at her in alarm,  as though she were being very peculiar.

“Is the tea not to your liking?”  he, she,  it asked.  Elen wasn’t sure how to respond.  Should she pretend nothing is strange?  Should she go with it?  Is it important that she should do so?  What could come of it?   Elen thought about how she got here, in this place…   She appeared to be on top of a very steep sloped mountain with very steep falls on either side of a wide purple and green checkered floor large enough to suit at least seven more of the long tables she was just sitting at.  Plenty of space,  but strangely bare.  As bare as she.   The rabbit seemed unperturbed by her state of undress.  She must have been like it for some time before she came aware,  or perhaps it was expected of her.
Elen sat back down.   “No,  the tea is… great,  I was just taken back by a thought.   Something about ravens.  Nothing to worry about” She said riskily.  She knew nothing of the rabbitbeast’s temperament or anything about her predicament really.

Shuhei wasn't quite sure what to make of the whispers he'd heard. He scratched the back of his head and wondered whether or not it had something to do with the apparent hangover he'd been feeling since he woke. This place had a very strange feeling about it and there was an odd, yet familiar scent in the air which gave Shuhei a nostalgic feeling, but he couldn't quite put a finger on what it was. Perhaps if he'd put enough thought in to it he would've realized it sooner, but his mind was elsewhere. His comrade was missing and though he knew she'd be able to handle herself, he felt compelled to look for her. He held his hands up to his mouth, "Elen!" He shouted again. Immediately after he was answered by the ominous whispers once more. Shuhei's eyes widened and he crouched down slightly as they stopped. "Definitely real..." He spoke softly as he peered in to the woods but saw nothing.

Suddenly, a terrifying roar echoed throughout the woods and sky and a fierce wind followed by a long dark shadow swept over the white wizard. He looked up towards the sky and finally, that nostalgic feeling made perfect sense. Memories of his childhood came flooding back as the Dragon in the sky circled above. Long and green, the Dragon which wore armor similar to the Rune Knights of Era dove down to the earth towards the White Wizard wielding a massive trident which it lunged forth towards Shuhei, who swiftly dove forward avoiding the weapon. The Dragon flapped its broad wings just above the ground and landed on its hind feet with a thud and grasped its trident with both monstrous hands. It spoke in a deep trembling tone which Shuhei could feel vibrating the ground even at a distance. "Heh heh, looks like I'll be able to fill my quota after all this month!" Shuhei took a fighting stance and faced the Dragon, which stood a good fifteen feet higher than him. He'd never seen a dragon before, other than for his adoptive parent Sapharaj whom was much larger than the dragon standing before Shuhei.

The dragon started to laugh loudly. "This is new, a human that doesn't run away." The dragon spoke in a very condescending tone and was obviously a Dragon that looked down on Humans. Shuhei smirked. "Well it looks like I'm going to have to show you what Humans are made of!" Shuhei ran towards the dragon with speed impressive enough to make even the Dragons eyes widen a bit. "Divine Dragon's" Shuhei started to chant the name of one of his spells, but was caught off guard by the electricity that wreathed the Dragons trident and shot at Shuhei, electrifying and paralyzing him. "Should have run." The dragon chuckled and the next thing Shuhei knew, he was in a cage on the Dragons back being carried through the woods. "I hope Elen is having a better time than I am..." Shuhei thought to himself, still paralyzed.

OOC: I was sort of rushed near the end of the post lol

It was a long couple of minutes that passed in silence until the rabbitbeast seemed to finish it’s tea and called for a servant that appeared from behind Elen to take away the teacups,  Elen’s along with the rabbits though she’d only had less than a third of it with how awkward she felt sitting at this table.   The servant was all scales with an elongated head reminding Elen of a bipedal alligator,  though it’s spines were more pronounced,  two fangs extended over its bottom lips,  and it had two small useless looking wings on it’s back.   It was dressed in a black suit with a white undershirt,  black tie,  and a thin pair of black sunglasses.  All of this blended in against the reptile’s steel grey scales.   Despite its bulk it handled the teacups swift and delicately hardly making so much as a clink of the fragile china.

With the servant having taken care of the tea,  the rabbitbeast cleared its throat.  “Yes,  alright then.  Madame Cheress should be hear any minute now.   Do you remember your instructions?”  He said and waited for her reply.   Elen was confused,  but her confusion easily remained away from her expression.

“Perhaps you should remind me,  just to be safe”  Elen stared at the rabbit from across the table,  seeing her opportunity to glean information on the situation.  The rabbitbeast smirked,  or made a similar gesture in any case,  and looked amused.  Just as he had when Elen stood up startled minutes ago when she first gained consciousness, or at least higher cognitive function.

“You know,  you’re behaving strangely…  You haven’t said a word since we found you.  You’re lucky you’re a fine specimen of your kind or you’d have been sent to the butchers.”  The Rabbitbeast’s eyes were on her now,  as if trying to stare through the clouds she used to give her some modesty.    It seemed like if she did arrive with her things,  they must have taken them from her.   Elen kept any reaction from leaving her heart,  away from expression,  and impassively waited for him to continue.

“But when word spread of your looks we already had four buyers.  You’re lucky, you know.  You get to serve, depending on who purchases you,  in one of the most renown breeding homes you could hope for,  or to give service to some of the finest lords.   I expect the price for you just doubled with your sudden change of character,   now that you aren’t a mute and have finally displayed some of your magic.  I expect a lot of people to be sorry they missed this initial auction”  Elen refrained from doing anything other then smiling softly and nodding once.   So.  Just came to and rabbit-beasts want to breed her?  Or maybe serve them like some maid?  Or both!  Elen would not stand for it.  Her stupidly active curiosity had her imagining what they meant by breeding home, however.  Maybe it wouldn’t be all bad…   Wait, what?  Butcher?   Elen couldn’t catch her emotions at the thought,  and it leaked through causing dark clouds to slowly fade into existence above them, clouding the sky.  It wasn’t so bad yet.   But it will be.

Elen reached out with her magic,  causing the glyph exposed on her back to shine unhindered by clothing like it usually was casting the area behind her in reds, blues, and greens.  The Rabbitbeast looked anxiously,  unsurprised,  though having stopped talking to observe.  Rapidly, Elen sent her commands for rain into the sky,  calling for a storm.   The clouds above her slowly seemed to turn and dark clouds rushed from off in the distance towards her position.  It’d take time to get here,  but it will.  Soon.   Elen stopped herself,  her glyph reducing to its usual glow.   She’d wait until her storm got here to act.
The Rabbit beast looked disappointed.  “What was that all about?”  He demanded.
“Mm? That was just my magic.  I can make mist appear around my body and this thing on my back glows whenever I use my ability to make my body change temperature a bit,  keeps me comfortable.”  She didn’t exactly lie.  Her magic could help keep her warmer or cooler.  And she was about to make it much cooler.

“An... interesting ability.  What else can you do?” It asked, leaning forward in its chair to rest it’s elbows on the table and it’s chin on its hands.

“Not much else.  I can sense when a storm’s coming though.” She said casually,  foreshadowing for the win.

The Realm of Dragons [Shuhei & Fuujin] Empty Re: The Realm of Dragons [Shuhei & Fuujin]

Post by Mifune 12th August 2013, 1:18 pm

It was rather frustrating for the White Wizard to have been captured so easily, in fact he was fuming over it.  "Such a bother..."  He spoke under his breath as he scratched his bicep.  He still felt quite tingly from the zap earlier and didn't feel like escaping just yet.  The Dragon marched through the forest towards an unknown destination with Shuhei's cage strapped to its back.  Thinking back, Shuhei had never seen or heard of a weapon like the Dragon used, in fact he'd never heard of Dragons using weapons to begin with.  He sat in his metal cage and pondered.  Perhaps it would be beneficial to wait and see where the Dragon brought him.  Shuhei hadn't the slightest clue of where he was or even where to start looking for Elen.  Allowing himself to be taken by the Dragon seemed like the best course of action, as oddly as it sounded...  Shuhei looked towards the sky as he noticed that it was beginning to get quite dark.  The clouds in the sky formed rather quickly and were quite dark.  "I hope you're alright Elen..."  He whispered under his breath.

"Hey, Dragon!  why aren't we flying?"  Shuhei inquired.  The Dragon growled loudly.  "Idiot Human.  Do you want to be struck by lightning?  There's a storm brewing above us."  The Dragon continued to speak to Shuhei in a condescending tone.  "So you're scared of Lightning?"  Shuhei replied.  The Dragon growled loudly and raised its voice.  "Insolent human!  Watch your tongue or I'll have you butchered before your first fight!"  Shuhei raised an eyebrow.  "First fight?"  The Dragon snarled as he made it to the edge of the tree line and a massive city was now within their sight up ahead.  (Though Shuhei couldn't see it since he was on the Dragons back.)  "You're fast for a human, so I'm selling you to the Arena.  This time of year they buy all the scrawny catches."  Shuhei grinned as they made their way towards the massive city.  "This might be interesting..."

After another hour or so, Shuhei was brought in to the city and was awestruck.  His jaw was dropped and is eyes were as wide as they'd ever been.  It was a society like any other.  Merchants and pedestrians, children running amok and armed guards.  The only difference between what Shuhei saw and what he was used to was that the city was populated entirely by Dragons!  Though not Dragons like from Earthland, they wore clothes and interacted like humans, at least through Shuhei's eyes they did.  To a human who wasn't raised by a Dragon, they'd appear far more vicious.  The buildings were also much taller than the ones in Human cities.  one of the smaller Dragons who Shuhei assumed to be a child, flapped its little wings and hovered in front of his cage, glaring at him as a child would a lion at the zoo.  Shuhei raised his hands and growled at him, scaring him off.  He chuckled a little bit and sat back in his cage grinning.  Though his grin quickly faded as he noticed a small group of humans who wore nothing but rags and collars and a taller Drake auctioning them off to a crowd of shadier drakes.  "I, don't think I'm in Earthland anymore..."

Post by beets 12th August 2013, 2:24 pm

“Well.  We’ll certainly be fetching double the price we were expecting.  And we were expecting quite a bit by your appearance alone”   The rabbitbeast said,  relaxing in its chair looking quite pleased with itself.   It eyed the sky curiously though,  as the clouds gathered quickly and darkened visibly.  As far as Elen could see from their high point atop a flat-topped mountain point specifically set up for these such events,  with its checkered flooring instead of dirt and ground.

“Well,  those clouds certainly moved in quickly.   It wasn’t supposed to be cloudy today.  Damn that weatherdrake.”  The rabbit cursed under it’s breath,  a little puff of flame licking it’s lip for a moment as it did so.    From the inside of its jacket the rabitbeast pulled out a thin plane of glass with two little lacrima orbs imprinted at the sides.   Through it,  it spoke.

“Auction postponed do to weather.   All on their way may view the human for a short while beforehand,  but we’ll be leaving in five minutes”  The rabbit beast tucked the glass back into its jacket and looked at Elen thoughtfully.   One of its eyes widened,  it’s eyebrow arching upwards.

“…  You did this.  Didn’t you?”  It said,  a peal of thunder  punctuated it’s sentence as the black clouds above flashed lightning.   Elen smiled,  facing down.    Her cloud around her gathered tightly on her back taking the form of wings that darkened black as deep stormclouds.    Lightning flashed again,  and the sky opened up in in heavy rainfall.  Each drop of rain seemed to pass right through her,  the weather not daring to touch her.     With each burst of lightning the Rabbit beast jumped in its chair.   The creature miscalculated greatly.    The storm was now,  and Elen would not be traded around like some 5 dollar hooker.  Unless she wanted to.  And by all that was holy she did NOT want to any time soon.

Elen formed a gun with her fingers and pointed at the rabbit,  mourning the loss of her pistol.   “Bang” She said,  and suddenly several bolts of lightning cracked the sky and pounded the area where the rabbitbeast was with a flash of light and a harsh sizzle as raindrops evaporated in it’s path.   The rabbit was soaked in the rain,  and they were pretty much high with their position atop this mountain,  all three of the bolts struck the scaly rabbit mercilessly.

“Bang” Elen said again,  only a few seconds after the first and the light from the previous set of lightning faded,  and another volley pounded the rabbit beast,   lightning crackled around her hand now,  concentrated somewhat at the tips of her middle and index finger that made the ‘barrel’ of her little imaginary gun.  From behind her Elen could hear the loud splashing stops of the crocodile-butler charging her from behind.   Giving a casual glance behind her,   Elen pointed her two  fingers at him as well.  “Bang”.  She said,  and the lizard’s body jerked funkily and it went down on its face,  twitching.   “Bang”,  she repeated making the Crocodile Butler repeat it’s seizure.   Elen’s eyes narrowed as she looked at the scaled creature at her feet.  Always double tap, just to be certain.  The creatures weren’t dead,  but their twitching bodies were paralyzed for a time.  Or maybe they could be dead,  if they were weak.  But anything part lizard was typically a hardy creature.  Especially the Crocodile Butler.     Having paused for too long,  the crackling sparks around her hand faded as the magic left her,  she’d not be able to call upon it for a little while.

Elen’s eye caught something through the rain,  the rain not impeding her vision like it would a normal person but her eyes also cut through   the droplets on their own power as well making for a perfectly unimpeded view of three large scaled creatures climbing up the mountain towards her.   The other party guests were arriving.   Elen went to the opposite edge of the mountain and looked down,  two more large beasts came up this way.  Elen flew low to the third edge and looked.  One.   Well.  There was no way down the mountain,  so Elen flew along the flat topped stretch until it connected with a bulkier portion of the mountain,  the area she’d been on being a thin ridge that extended out and had its top shaved off for a flat surface.    She heard a roar behind her and looked back to see what looked to be a small dragon roaring,  other dragons arriving to the top.   Why didn’t they fly?  She wondered.   They hard large enough wings.

She could make out some words,  “Find the human!”  And boy did they sound angry.  She could make out their eyes,  scowling- or perhaps they were always scowling- through the rain to try to find her.  Apparently they realized there was only way for her to go without flying and started along the path she followed.   Time for subtlety up,  she cloaked herself in black cloud and lifted herself up to the sky now that she figured she could get away with it easier.  The dragons might have seen her rising from where she was before,  but now her black cloud-masked self was against the view of the mountains stretching out behind her and had more rainfall to fill the space between her and the beasts.

But,  from the dragons there was another roar and a beam  of light seared the rain and heated the air past her coming from the shining maw of one of the dragons,  this dragon seemed to have golden plating on its shoulders and along it’s back,  with dark blue fabrics covering some of its scales.    It’s eyes were much more keen then she’d hoped.   Its companions didn’t seem to be as sharp, but fired balls of flame randomly in the same general area as their golden-plated leader.   She’d assume he was the leader in any case.

“Fricking laser dragons dammit sh*t fluffing cow fornicating pieces of-“ Elen rambled on in a tangent of curses, not because she was scared so much as surprised. The sudden laser served as quite the jump scare.  dispersing her black shroud of clouds in favor of wings again to fly faster as flame and lasers tore through the air after her,  flying backwards to better see and judge the incoming projectiles to dodge and weave.   The dragons didn’t fly after her however,  and Elen realized.  They were scared of the storm.   She could see why,  large flying creatures as they were- with metal plating in addition to their scales.   Lightning would NOT be their friend.

Even as Elen thought this the gold-plated dragon unfurled two great wings and kicked off the mountain side,  beating ferociously through the rain after her.   It got struck by a bolt of lightning in the process,  but it didn’t seem to care and the natural bolt from the storm barely seemed to singe it’s scales.

A shiver ran through Elen’s spine and continued her stream of curses as lasers trailed after her as she made her way further upwards into the clouds.

The Realm of Dragons [Shuhei & Fuujin] Empty Re: The Realm of Dragons [Shuhei & Fuujin]

Post by Mifune 14th August 2013, 1:17 pm

The White Dragon, clad in golden armor roared as fiercely as the thunderous sky, but with far greater lethality. Few Dragons in this realm were capable of wielding such breath and fewer still the element of light. Obviously this Dragon, who did not fear the storm was of higher stature than the rest and commanded their respect. The Dragons too fearful to take flight cheered for their golden clad leader, no longer able to support him with their flames at such a distance in the rain. "Go Lord Shuhei-Ryuu!" The name would ring familiarly in Elens ears, though there would be no time to ponder. Shuhei-Ryuu continued to roar ferociously, firing beams of light towards the Human Elen until however his entire body flashed brightly and he vanished. The sounds of rain on metal plating would give away his new position behind the Storm weaving Elen. It spoke to her in a deep tone of voice and bore its fangs. "Humans shouldn't play with magic, it bitters the taste!" The Dragon raised its massive arm and its claw glowed white as he swung it towards her with the intention of swatting her against the mountain side.

    Meanwhile...

Though Shuhei's situation would seem dire to most people, he did not feel any sense of danger while he was being sold to what he overheard to be a gladiators arena. The Dragon that captured him had long since left him with a different Dragon, this one with a much longer neck and tail than the others but a shorter body which made him funny to look at, as his neck and head equaled the length of his legs and torso. (Though he was still almost twice as tall as Shuhei.) He had Yellow scales with a brown goatee and bifocals and wore what Shuhei could only make out to be expensive clothing, based on the quality of the robes the rest of the population was wearing. It examined Shuhei in his cage and was surprised at how calm the specimen was... "I say, you do look rather fit don't you pup." Shuhei crossed his arms and looked at the long necked Dragon in the eye. "Yeah sure, mind letting me out now?" The Dragon chuckled as he waved his hand up behind him, gesturing for two much larger dragons, both with black scales and armor to come over. "This one will do for the reenactment." At that point one of the Black scaled dragons picked up Shuhei's cage from a handle at the top and carried him in to the Arena complex.

Through halls and down several flights of stairs the Dragon carried the White Wizard, until finally they arrived upon a large steel door, which the black dragon easily opened with one hand. It entered the large chamber, at the end of which was a long archway, sealed by a steel barred gate, leading to what could only be the Arena. A hundred or so other humans were sitting and waiting for the doors to their doom to open. The tall black Dragon took the lid of Shuhei's cage off and literally dumped him out on his head and wasted no time leaving. "Damnit!" He said as he stood up and rubbed the bump on his head. "That hurt..." He crossed his arms and looked about the chamber. The crowd of humans was a miserable group... They knew they were about to die, for the reenactment was not one of a humans war, but a Dragons conquest.

Elen sped upward and away from the dragons as fast as she could manage, winds pushing her, wings of cloud beating rapidly, if only she still had her Lover’s Tunic she could go faster still.   Despite her efforts and despite the dragon’s bulk didn’t seem to slow it down and it gained on her despite her head start and in despite of the winds that didn’t affect her.   Even flying backwards,  it didn’t influence her speed as her flight didn’t rely on her orientation but it did make it a little nervous not seeing where she was going precisely.   Then again,  being the only thing in the air except for a giant laser dragon in the middle of a storm there wasn’t much to run into.

The dragon roared again,  projecting a beam of light at her and Elen pulled back to one side to avoid the hit,  but in nearly the same moment she just noticed the dragon vanishing in a little flicker and suddenly there was the plinking noise of rain on metal.   Elen immediately forced herself down with the help of gravity to pull downward in an aided fall just enough to be sure she was in the clear and tried to curve back upwards.    The dragon had pulled a teleport spell out of its ass.

Teleporting.  Armored.  Laser.  Dragon.  Fuck me,  Elen thought.   With the dragon coming in for another attack having little time to sit and ponder life’s mysteries like an idiot,  Elen snapped her fingers and a sudden collapse of pressurized wind created an explosive shockwave that formed a cushion of air that pushed the dragon away from her in one direction and Elen off in the other hurtling away faster than an arrow’s flight.    All rain collecting against this bubble making it look like a great sphere of water that pushed through rain and cloud.   The bubble and it’s angle was so that it pushed Elen higher into the sky and the Dragon as well,  in a wide V shape.   There was up to a hundred meters between the two,   and the bubble left them above the clouds.

Knowing that was going to be far from enough,  Elen clapped and dark misty clouds coalesced into a second layer of black cloud above them over a great area,  sandwiching the storm mage and the light dragon between two blankets of dark clouds as the above layer several hundred meters above their heads opened up and released a downpour of rain that shown in a strange clear icy blue rain.  Each raindrop a liquid mass of ice waiting to snap back into its frozen state in reacting to an impact,  exploding into coating of ice on whatever it hit.

This was hardly any ordinary storm, from hardly any ordinary storm mage.  This was Hell’s own Frozen Rain.

The mighty claw missed its target, and the infernal woman dropped below the Gold Dragon and used magic the mighty Shuhei-Ryuu had never seen before, and he was not prepared for what came after.  The burst, though seemingly insignificant to the proud dragon caught his fully expanded wings and sailed him in to the sky against gravity's pull.  He'd never been so embarrassed, to be made a fool of in front of his subordinates by a mere human breeder who despite her extraordinary magic, was still nothing more than a breeder in the eyes of the Noble Dragon.  He bared his fangs to the woman as she continued to cast her vile spells, creating another storm above them, setting the stage for their battle.  The rain began to fall from the witches storm just like any other, though the sound of the rain hitting the Dragons metallic armor sounded strange.  He raised his arm, which was slowly becoming encased in ice as the drops seemed to burst in to a sheen of ice on his scales and armor and suddenly he felt the cold start to sink in to his being.

"What a nuisance this is.  To think you were to be sold and bred."  The dragon lowered its arm and laughed as the ice began to thicken around him.  "I'll see to it that you're sent to the butchers instead!"  Upon realizing that if she were to breed, potentially making more humans with her abilities, the Dragon decided that it would be best to put her down.  The Dragon roared loudly and became illuminated, its entire body emitting a powerfully bright light making it difficult to look at him directly after being in such a dark environment for so long.  The ice which threatened to encase the Dragon shattered and evaporated almost instantly.  Shuhei-Ryuu charged towards Elen at a speed one would think impossible for a creature of his size and threatened to ram the storm weaver with its aura of light.  Upon feeling the energy which radiated from the Dragon, Elen would have realized the familiarity between this Dragon and someone she knew quite well... It was the same feeling she got from her Guild master, Shuhei.

Post by beets 18th August 2013, 9:05 am

The frozen rain that fell over the land ticked the dragon off.   But at least it seemed threatened,  it must realize that sooner or later this frozen rain will make it to heavy to fly any more.   Each second that passes rain drops explode into ice that clings to it's scales,  thin sheets of ice coating it's form.   Elen was at a clear advantage in this,  the rain passing right through her and no cover for it to take if it wanted to continue to pursue her.  Surely the dragon would turn back and concede.

    It didn't.

Flaring with light the angry dragon burst into light that almost made it difficult to look at.  Then when it started moving towards her she obviously anticipated he was in for some form of rushing move.   For a brief second she saw Shuhei there in her minds eye,  Light.   Light magic. Speed.  Shit.   Elen threw up her hands and in a second the great head of a Titan came into being,  shrouded in clouds,  dripping with black ink,  and eyes clouded with tears of tar.  It's mouth an open yawning mass as it tried to cry out but lacking lungs,  it made no sound.

She timed her spell quick enough that at the dragon's speed it should either have just enough time to stop,  run into it,  or appear within the head and in either case burst through the head like a pinata- a Pinata full of boiling tar instead of delicious candies. Elen didn't want to wait and see what happened,  she was already flying away again.  Downward,  into the blanket of stormclouds to hopefully disappear out of the dragon's sight in the confusion of the Tar-Rain,  the head's appearance,  or the fireworks of black goo.

    Tartarus Black Tears.
The idea is that since they're already high in the sky the head would appear at their level, among the clouds, and could thus be used as an interception tool.
The head explodes when hit by an S-ranked light spell. Since you're charging with an S-ranked light spell, it would explode on you releasing all it's tar at once.

The Realm of Dragons [Shuhei & Fuujin] Empty Re: The Realm of Dragons [Shuhei & Fuujin]

Post by Mifune 22nd August 2013, 6:26 am

The Titanic severed head surprised and frustrated the Dragon even further.  Though as Shuhei-Ryuu gazed upon the sorrowful being that would strike fear in to the heart of any human, his Pride as a Noble Dragon would not allow him to be weary of a humans trickery.  He did not slow down or even hesitate as he charged in to it.  Through the black clouds and masses of oozing black tar, the Dragons barrier of light held around him and the face of the monolith caved inward as the sound of the Dragons battle cry filled the air along with the sound of the beasts thick flesh tearing.  The back of its head stretched outward and the Dragon burst through, causing the head to explode in to a haze of black tar and smoke.  All he could do was continue forward through the haze towards his target, but to no avail.  Shuhei-Ryuu's barrier gave way and the rain once again began to encase him and the woman was nowhere in sight.

The Dragon roared loudly in anger.  Though Elen fled from him, Shuhei-Ryuu considered it a great loss and his pride was hurt as a result.  "How humiliating."  The Dragon gazed through the storm, clenching its fists, growling, contemplating the likelihood of him catching someone so small with her abilities through such a storm.  He regretted not putting an end to her when he had the chance, instead of trying to preserve her value.  Finally the ice began to weigh his body down slightly and the realization that he would not be able to continue flying for long put an end to his thoughts of pursuit.  He slowly glided downwards back on to the mountain top where his subordinates where waiting.  "Lord Shuhei-Ryuu, did you catch her?"  They inquired, but the Prideful Dragon simply glared angrily at the one who questioned him, instilling terror in to him.  With that they had their answer.  "There's only one place she can go...  We're heading to Ishril."  The lesser dragons looked at each other with glee and one spoke to the other.  "The city of Ishril, we'll get to see the reenactment of Katharn!"

    Meanwhile...

Shuhei roamed the waiting area, waiting to take part in the "reenactment" something which sounded like fun, but obviously was not meant to be for those taking part...  It was a gladiators arena after all.  Many of the men were suiting themselves up with armor and weapons, others didn't bother.  Those that didn't wore an expression of hopelessness and regret.  From what Shuhei could tell they'd given up hope.  He began to approach a group of pre-defeated gladiators, when all of the sudden a nearly naked man leaped over Shuhei and the group, landing on the opposite side of Shuhei and pirouetted around to face them all, striking a pose and flexing his muscles.  Stars twinkled all around the perfect male specimen as he performed this action.  "Where is your passion brothers?!" He changed poses, flexing his muscles differently. "where is the fire that once filled your eyes!?" He changed poses again. "Though we march towards our doom an ETERNITY of happiness awaits us in the next life! So stand strong and show these mongrels the strength of our resolves!" Shuhei chuckled listening to the man. "Aye!" Shuhei shouted in support. "Aye!" Another shouted, and then another.

Shuhei approached the perfect male specimen. "That was touching, what's your name?" He asked. The muscular man raised an eye brow, realizing he'd never seen the man clad in white robes before, nor has he ever seen a human dressed as pleasantly as Shuhei. He spun around comically, striking yet a fourth pose to greet his new comrade. "It is I, Zeus L. Ogia the Brave! The courageous! The stupendously Audacious Hero of the western people of Flora!" Shuhei hesitated for a moment. "I'm Shuhei." He offered his hand to Zeus who shook it immediately. "It's a Pleasure to make the acquaintance of someone so calm in the face of such peril! I look forward to fighting along side you Shuhei." Shuhei crossed his arms and looked around at the men who were now arming themselves for the coming battle. "Do you know anything about this reenactment the Dragons keep talking about?" Zeus' expression became slightly more grim than before as he also looked toward the men. "yes... It is the reenactment of the battle of Katharn, when we Humans mustered an army large enough to pose a threat to the Dragon King, but were ultimately defeated as a result of a single Dragons actions before the front gate of the palace." Shuhei turned to Zeus. "So they're making us fight a Dragon?" He asked. "Yes, one of high standing among the Dragons. They consider it an high honor to take part so only those of high rank are permitted to participate." The gates to the arena began to open, and several Dragons entered the chamber from the door they brought Shuhei through before, beginning to force the humans to enter the Arena. "I see..." The two began to walk towards the gate. "Good luck." "You too..."
