It's time to ring in the new year with some New Years activities! Gather your friends together for an exciting evening of music, dancing, drinking, fireworks, and more! Put on your best outfit for this lavish, high-energy bash and enjoy a late-night extravaganza in style as we all say goodbye to the prior year and hello to the year to come. Don't forget to share a kiss with someone at midnight..!
This mini-event is a purely social event! Players attend a New Year's Eve party somewhere in Ishgar and celebrate the arrival of the new year. All activities are up to the respective players and can include things such as Party Games, Buffet Dining, Fireworks Shows, New Year Countdown, New-Year-themed Drinks and Drinking Games, Dancing, Performances, etc.! As long as you meet the minimum word requirement of 2,000 words per participant, you're all set! The content of the New Year's Party is up to you. The event may be completed in groups of 2-6 characters. This event cannot be completed solo.
Just like with jobs, the Word Count stacks. If two players participate in the event, the minimum Thread WC is 4,000, three players have to reach a 6,000-word minimum WC, etc. Please bear in mind that the WC of all players contributes to the total WC so that players still have a chance to complete the event if one of the group members is unable to meet their part of the WC.

Players will receive a scaling EXP reward for this Event in accordance with the Word Count completed. These include 3 separate tiers:
Furthermore, all players who successfully complete this event will receive the temporary "Fond Memories" modifier from the point of Event Ending Approval, which will last until the 28th of February 2023, 11:59pm EST. Players benefitting from this modifier will receive 50% increased EXP and Jewel rewards from any job they complete.
- 2,000 Words per Participant: Groups who write the minimum of 2,000 words per participating player receive rank EXP. D rank players receive 300 EXP and C rank players receive 500 EXP. S rank players and above receive 10y EXP.
- 3,000 Words per Participant: Groups who write 3,000 words per participating player receive 2x rank-equivalent EXP. D rank players and C rank players receive 1,500 EXP. S rank players and above receive 100y EXP.
- 4,000 Words per Participant: Groups who write 4,000 words per participating player receive EXP of one rank higher than their own multiplied by 1.5x. D rank players and C rank players receive 2x B rank EXP instead. S rank players and above receive 100y EXP multiplied by 1.5x.
