Peering into the full moon that rose high into the sky with her dreary crimson eyes, the coven of the feminine sanguine would raise her hand outward to manifest a single droplet of ruby red blood, allowing it to waver until it formed a moon of its own- it would appear to sit in the center of the moon in her vision, levitating within her grasp. It was nearing the start of a new day in the eyes of the world, and though now was primetime for a sly vampire to feed on the unsuspecting, she already had her supply handled for the next days that would pass. Time was but another thing that was difficult for Anastasia to grasp; growing up within a coven of vampires in the underground meant a constant cycle of fulfilling one's duties, and though the extensive research she had done on her human counterparts was just as strange as it was true, it was such a strange thing to finally live around. But in a way, it was beautiful to the girl of the underworld in its own strange quirks. What a strange thought it was for her to think of what her life would have been like if she hadn't been saved by her coven- she wouldn't have it any other way than the way she had it now.

A multitude of different reasons lead the supreme of her coven to the town of Hargeon, and though she would appear to be an ordinary mage overlooking the sea within the dreary night to the few that would pass her by, she would be wavering her magic within the moonlight with a purpose. It would serve as a compass of sorts due to the resonance of the magical power that rested at the other end the blood would pull toward- the abundant magical output that was flowing deeper out to sea, marking her destination for the night that was yet to come. Pointing to the outlier islands of Crescent Island, her hunch would prove to be true. A rival supreme by the name of Auresol Von Humfreig, one of the leaders of a vampire sect of the sanguinaeris and a proven enemy to the feminine sanguine coven would rest in a hidden crypt channeling immense magical power for who knows what reason; her intel from two of her inner circle would lead her to believe this fact, and though it was not the most common ordeal for her coven to attack another's leaders like this, an opportunity had presented itself to the newly stamped Abyssal Fleet member that she would not wish to pass up.

By defeating the rival supreme Stasi would be able to utilize his already immense magical output in tandem with her own to puncture a point in the fabric of space and time, and though it would be a difficult feat, she would be able to allow the flagship Andromeda to cross through the abyss in yet another location around the country. It would be an outlet to reinforce her coven by eliminating an influential leader in the underground territory, an enemy at that- it would be a win-win for both her guild and the close-knit chosen family of hers, a gate further into the mysteries that encompassed living upon the surface. Through the diamond-shaped gaps that would span across her vision due to the silky white ribbons that would encase her eyes like elongated glasses, she would eye the wooden stake that would sit in a pouch on her belt. Soaked in lethal toxins that would prove to be immensely efficient in the killing of other vampires, she would make sure to not even dare touch it without utilizing the plush white gloves that draped over her fingers and palms. A simple stab in the heart would do the trick, and though powerful, she knew that is all it would take to kill the wretched man that made the livelihoods of her coven's members much more tricky over the past few centuries.

Resting her fangs on the outside of her lips as she would bite the bottom, she would allow her eyes to peer back and forth on the dock she stood upon, awaiting the arrival of a stranger- it was her hope a woman of similar nature was the one that found her request of assistance in vampire slaughter upon the job boards of the dark aligning, though she did not expect such a miracle. If she were to take to the seas she would need the tiniest bit of reinforcement, and she did not feel as though her cat would prove worthy enough to take on that role.

"You're not strong enough to kill even a fly, are you?" she would lean down and stroke her gloved fingers across her black cat's fur, petting its neck as it would continuously roll about in elation, "it's okay lovebug, you don't have to be."

The nights before were spent in a dark and dreary forest, punning it up with an ancient creature forcibly and magically contained within a home of a bygone era. It was a time and source of great joy and entertainment, even though technically a hit had been put out on said creature. A mage that was sent out to take care of said problem for a group of hunters…. Also technically ‘failed’ the contract as the hunters didn’t exactly go into great details on how to actually take out the blood sucker within. Now, he must get back on the road again, though feeling great to be back on the road once more. After a couple of days of lazily wandering through the countryside of Fiore, on the back of a large, fiery red beast… Jaeger and Nava eventually reach the port town of Hargeon, a place he had often visited as it was usually the closest city to his current residence of Tolgalen.

They duo rolled in at dusk, the vibrant red, yellow, and orange shades slightly matching Nava’s fur. During his time of travel, the mage had given it some thought, the last job with the vampire. He clearly had some things to discuss with these hunters, however, he had no clue as to where their base was located. His only contact had been the note with a job offer in hand, so all he could do was wait on another letter and further contact. Until then? Assuming that the hunters guild or whatever would know where he was at, he can do a few small jobs on the way back to  the World Fiore Trade Company. Luckily for him, he was in Hargeon, a major city of Fiore. There are plenty of jobs to take no matter how small or grand that they can be.

Looking over the jobs board, he runs through the listings and their ‘rankings’. There was a lot of small stuff like finding a cat, walking a dog, finding a missing father, etc. However, there was one that stood out. It highlighted itself to the mage as it was something he had just dealt with, but doesnt seem to be by the same people. The job calls for assistance with killing a vampire, perhaps this is his chance to learn how to actually kill a vampire. If those grumpy old farts that can't even enter a house, which probably should have been his first clue as to something funky going on, perhaps whoever posted this job will know better.

“Ah, Nava, this could be the ticket. Can learn something new besides just using puns against our… my fellow undead. Gotta say though, that guy had quite the unfair advantage, being unable to be killed like that.”

Rippingthe flier off the board, he and the very large Red Panda trot along to the mentioned meeting place.

Jaeger laid upon the beast's back, semi-hiding within the red fur. Both arms stretched over the sides as his head hung next to Nava’s, cuddling up next to it. His horns sticking out of the top, creating some weird view from the other side. People scooted out of the way and gave weird stares, likely never seeing such a large creature roam the city with a horned man on its back. Eventually, they came upon the docks. Sailors, mages, and people abound! But who would be the killer, the one hunting in the night. Stalking the predators of the undead. Most everyone was just going about their business, none really looking like they would be waiting for a meet up.

There was a gentleman leaning against a wall, scanning the crowds. But his attire was that of some dock hand, likely not the hunter. Another woman was waiting just off one of the ships, but she was an older gal, all dolled up with fancy, aristocrat garb; probably not her.  And there she was, a raven haired beauty waiting in the middle of the docks. Looking around and petting a cat. It was clearly this woman! No need to look around any longer. No need for more evidence on this being the person he was supposed to meet up with.

The duo approached, both faces looking towards the woman with slight smiles. Jaeger himself also had black hair that parted a bit for the horns. Sneaking a peek through the red fur of the Giant Red Panda, one would notice he was also wearing a nice black trench coat. The mage held out the flier for a partner in hunting a vampire.

"‘Ey, you the one looking for some help with a particular undead?”

Continuously gazing into the depths of the sea that stretched out into the horizon, the vampiress of blood would begin to zone into the levitating ball of blood into greater depths, becoming unaware of her surroundings. It would suddenly burst and trickle down into the water that struck the edge of the docks she stood upon, allowing her to fully visualize the man that stood now by her side accompanied by a beast of sorts- she was unfamiliar with pandas as a whole. However, red pandas were even more far off in the realm of foreign fauna that she had learned about before emerging from the underground, appearing as a somewhat intimidating creature. Amidst a small feeling of panic, as she realized she had let her guard down for a moment, allowing unfamiliar individuals to come up on her unsuspecting self, she would sigh in relief as she noticed the familiar words that were sprawled across the paper the stranger presented to her alongside his statement, or rather, a question.

"Yes, I am the one that requested assistance in the hunt," Anastasia would begin to speak in a warm yet quiet tone of voice, hiding her fangs behind her cheeks during her introduction to avoid potential hypocritical assumptions about her motives, ".. my name is Anastasia, though the people of Ishgar know me to be the mistress 'Stasi'- are you familiar with such a name?"

It was quite narcissistic of Anastasia to ask the stranger that question, though she wasn't quite sure as to why anyone would think so, as she viewed herself to be the ultimate representation of the divine feminine- a young, effervescent vampiress with an influential coven to back up her strong ideals with force, able to charm the hearts of Ishgar by simply gracing the stage and singing into the sky. The feeling of receiving love and adoration was the one feeling she always felt in her life, a constant, whether it was from the girls of her coven or those that fell in love with her recent debut as a pop star. It was something she was beginning to expect from those that she encountered in her new life as a mage, even if that would lead to conflict later if it did not go her way.

".. I don't necessarily wish for my fans to know of our soon-to-be vampire slaying adventure- it worries me that they could think differently of me if they knew I was skilled in carrying out such gruesome tasks," she would continue to speak to the stranger with her noticeable foreign accent, which would most likely be unable to be placed to a specific region, noticing she hadn't had the chance to catch his name while she told him hers, "..oh, but what is the name of the soon to be slayer of the undead? I'm eager to know who'll be accompanying me into the night."

Anastasia would smile, meticulously paying attention to her every move to appear to the stranger as innocent and driven by good- it was her grand secret to keep her status as a vampire from almost everyone she met above the surface, excluding those within the ranks of Abyssal Fleet. Though in her mind, it was only natural for her to look down at the stranger for the one characteristic he had that was utterly different than hers. Him being a man. Though, she knew that if she was outwardly disrespectful it would jeopardize the seemingly only help she was going to get in vanquishing the rival vampire brood’s leader. Anastasia would take on the guise of a lone mage setting off on a grand quest to slay a vampire she had researched prior to tonight, skilled in the arts of killing vampires, and would attempt to hide her quirks of the sanguinaire vampiris the best she could. Though, if the stranger was familiar with the scent of the various undead and their ancient ways, specifically vampires, the mode of transportation the girl would soon offer would potentially put a small dent in the secret she was keeping.

“I have an aerial ship that can take us to our destination rather quickly, though its technologies are a bit dated, as it does not use lacrimatech,” she would tell the man, her eyes looking down at the water on the edge of the dock as she would raise a hand forward, "..it's my pride and joy, 'the ripper'."

Causing the water in front of her to thrash about lightly, a large airship would manifest in front of the two from the depths, floating as if it were now a boat resting at the edge of the city like the rest of them. Though, unlike all the other boats, this would appear to be utterly pulsating with magical energies- it would form the shape of a v, its two upper points wispy within the winds expelling the colors of an ultraviolet ruby red while a matching glowing set of stairs would fold down from the center. After she was done channeling her magic remotely through the once hidden flagship, Anastasia would turn toward the man that sought out the hunt she also sought, her crimson-colored eyes flickering under the moonlight.

"Let's get going, I can tell you much more about Auresol Von Humfreig on the way over a glass of wine," the raven and rose-haired maiden would warmly speak to the stranger, taking a few steps to soon begin gliding up the pulsating stairs leading into her ship with grace, her cat following behind her curiously.

Inside the ship would appear to be dark and lined in various gothic-styled furniture, housing a single room that functioned as a command room with an unholy black throne in the center- sprawled in front of it would be a pointed levitating fragmental of a deep black obsidian color, which if manipulated by the coven princess, would allow the ship to levitate into the sky and go great lengths across its clouds. If she were lucky, the stranger would not smell the almost unnoticeable scent of blood that would come from the walls of the ship, or at least would not be bothered by it- her ethereal flower that sat in her hair could only puff out so much of its sweet fragrance to cover it up, after all. Making her way through the entrance, Anastasia would go to a small cabinet on the edge of one of the four corners of the mythical airship, quickly pulling out two chalices that would seem to have already been prepared, keeping an eye on the one that rested within her left hand. That one, which would have a different hue of red than the other, had to be hers.

Post by Nekros 4th September 2022, 11:19 am

A curious creature, this young lady. She herself was a bloodplayer, controlling the thick, viscous liquid as if she were a waterbender from the hit iLacrima show, Avatar, The Last Dirtbender. Not only that, she wasn’t paying attention at first, paying sole focus to the liquid as glistened from the moonlight above. It was interesting, to say the least. A woman out here in the middle of the night, wanting to hunt a vampire but also capable of using blood based magic? Or so he’s assuming.
The raven topped woman was enthralled with it; at least that’s what it looked like from his position lounging on the back of Nava until he spoke up about the job.

CORRECT! Is what Jaeger is. This spectacularly dressed maiden was the job postee, looking for others to join her in a hunt. A pretty and popular young dame, introducing herself as Anastasia. What was interesting, aside from any sort of  physical beauty, was her alias or more public name, Mistress Stasi. While the horned one wasn't too invested in her style of music, the name was passed around the offices of the World Fiore TRade Company back on Tolgalen. She was one of the newest sensations to hit the music scene and lacrima screens everywhere.

    “Stasi…. Stasi…”

Jaeger spoke aloud as he slipped down the fur of the giant red panda Nava. Landing on his feet, he pondered a moment more to recall the name presented to him.

“Yeah, the name sounds familiar. I think… you’re that new pop star everyone is going on about, right? Got a lot of fans back at my nine to five. Well, Miss Stasi, it’s a pleasure to meet you.”

In his head, the raven haired chap was going on about how jealous everyone back at the office would be that he got to meet the one and only Stasi. They won't believe that the more lazy and weird inclined bugger of the WFTC got to meet a celebrity in the flesh. Though the youthful pop star did mention that she would rather this sort of incident or job get out, didn’t want her fans to have a different public image of her. It was a fair request. So his train of thought went on about how he could bring up meeting her that would also keep what they’re about to do underwraps.

“The name is Jaeger… and this big lunk here is Nava. We’re uh… independent mages, or I am but he’s the muscle. We uh… just came here from our own excursion against a Vamp on the other side of the country. Unfortunately, I had to leave him trapped in his own home and uh regroup with those that hired me.

    ….

Believe it or not, random vampire hunters that hire you via missive aren't very forthcoming with info on how to actually defeat such a creature and just set ya loose on jobs.“

Jaeger mentions his latest exploits before circling back to the fact of not making this a public affair.

“Oh, mums the word then; Just between us. No need to bother the masses with such..uuuhhhh”

Jaeger makes some vague hand gestures and a clicking sound.

    “....Activities.”

The joy that could make the unbeaten heart of this undead mage skip a beat. Anastasia brings up the fact that she has an airship for them to use to reach their destination! It had been sometime since he had been able to ride and man an aerial vehicle; infact, it was around the time he had become undead that he was able to ride one. Though, the previous one was also capable of soaring through the stars outside of Earthlands space. Those were the times. Now, he has another chance to enjoy the feeling of flight like no other! And hers was named The Ripper, rather… gruesome name for such an apparent goodie two shoes pop star. It didn't sit right, but there was no point in dwelling on it. Everyone has their secrets nad preferences, even pop stars.

“Awesome, an airship! It’s been so long since i’ve had the joy of riding on one.”

Blurting this out, she summoned forth her mighty air steed, a vessel…. Floating in the water as if another boat docked in port? Perhaps it was just multipurpose. Stasi glided her way to the inside of the vessel, JAeger and Nava following. Inside was very gothic styled. It was adding up the suspicious thoughts, but again, there wasn’t as much care. EVen the scent of the place had a faint iron aroma. It was making his slayer senses tingle, specifically his hunger for metal. The subtle hints of iron were all over, similar to the thick and red liquid the woman was playing with before. Something that tends to come from the living.

“So, about this Auresol Von Humfreig, what’s the deal and how would one… take care of such a powerful foe?”

Watching the young woman prepare or gather prepared wine glasses, He could instinctively reach out for the one on the right.
