Having been born and raised in a small seaside hamlet near Sakuramori, Marius has not interacted with many people. This has lead to him becoming very idealistic and naive, since his surroundings painted an idyllic image of life and the world. However, these views have been challenged since he has started studying the massive collection of books his father left behind. Be it utterly fictitious stories or factual testimonies, he is fascinated by every ounce of knowledge and facts he can get his hands on, no matter if in written or spoken form.
The closely-knit life of a small community has formed his childhood years impactfully. Marius tends to treasure the people close to him very much and often appreciates them indiscriminately. But those he chooses to bond with are few and far between. Whenever he is confronted with strangers, he tends to be very dismissive and direct, sometimes even abrasive. He wants the conversations to come to the point as soon as possible and end just as quickly. Whether this comes from a mindset of fear, lack of interest or superiority is yet to crystalize. This doesn't mean he never warms up to people at all - it just takes time spent together for him to properly open up and start trusting a person more deeply.
His mother, a former teacher, is another big forming factor of his current personality. She has always lead him towards a life where he achieves big things, seeing him as a special pupil of hers, one she wants to see thrive and prosper. It was her who instilled a great sense of curiosity and ambition within him, and these have only grown over time. This is one of the reasons why he has decided to leave his home and join a guild - in order to know more about himself and his newfound powers, as well as how to utilize them better. That isn't all, however, as the history of his family, mainly the romantic story that is the source of his mother's side's power, and his father's origin, is something he'd like to know more about.
When it comes to being a mage, Marius lacks a lot of experience - and it shows. His limited worldview also doesn't help. That is why he would prefer working solo - as he can't imagine himself cooperating no matter in what position. He can't lead anyone, since he can't properly connect with his followers, and he refuses to follow, since he can't completely trust a strange, new, unacquainted leader. This leads to him mostly doing solitary tasks when part of a team, preferring to work at his own pace with little to no outside input. When it comes to fighting, however, he tends to become very quiet and calculative. Thinking of and strategizing every move beforehand as to make sure not to make any mistakes. Hidden behind this battle strategy is his yet untapped and undiscovered perfectionist side which will most likely be revealed as he learns more about and interacts with the world.

- Progress - Marius has always been very infatuated by new discoveries and inventions, and his great sense of curiosity further fuels this want of his to obtain new knowledge, to reveal secrets and solve mysteries. He values science and wisdom greatly, and this is one of his primary reasons for leaving his home in favor of a guild - so he could support science in the making and create or uncover novelties.
- Quiet - Growing up in a small settlement distant from all the hustle bustle of the cities and towns has made Marius appreciate the quiet monotone background noise of nature. He finds shouting, screaming, crashing, clanging and all of the other loud noises extremely obnoxious and will always attempt to find a small secluded spot just for himself (and perhaps for his friends if he ever makes any). His voice also tends to be on the quieter side, that is unless he gets really invested into something, that is when he starts to subconsciously raise his volume a lot.
- Discipline - While Marius ultimately values his freedom and his liberty in choosing many aspects of his life, he appreciates a regime and a plan to adhere to. He has no problem accommodating to a new schedule and he values self-control in himself and in others as well. He also knows how to rein himself in if he catches himself getting out of line. This has led to many people seeing him as a party pooper, however, he has never really cared for that label.

- Crowds - As mentioned previously, Marius prefers solitude over a big company, so he doesn't like gatherings or meetings. Parties are the absolute worst though, because they don't even serve a real purpose in his eyes. Even groups of friends can be quite draining for him, yet he tries to make time for them, since he doesn't have all too many.
- Laziness - A constant urge to do something, to take action, to improve oneself has always been present in his life. he just can't understand not wanting to do anything or not being able to get out of bed. He judges people based on this pretty harshly and will usually make sure to avoid them when he has the chance.
- Grudges - Marius finds holding grudges or seeking revenge stupid and pointless endeavors. They do nothing but cause more problems than have already existed and bring about even more grudges. In his opinion, the best thing is to move on from a problem or problematic person, and if necessary, just cut them off from one's life. He tries to avoid people with opinions that differ from his on this subject.

Be it learning, training, experiencing new things, he wants to challenge himself and gain more skill and value that way. Stagnation is a big no-no, so he's going to do his best in order to constantly be growing in at least one aspect.
- Discovery - Marius has a thing for exploring the unknown. Which is why he isn't afraid of, even welcomes, sailing in uncharted waters. He finds it intriguing to be the first to tackle something, and so he tries to experiment a lot with whatever presents itself, oftentimes unafraid of the minor consequences, but usually aware of the greater risks, which he tends to avoid.

He hates the feeling of losing, which is why he tends to avoid starting competitions and rivalries until he's sure he can come out on top.
