Special Characteristics: Serena was born with a defect that prohibits her from using mana, or etherano. Hence she is unable to cast magic normally, she instead must use her own life force to be able to cast her own magic.

Personality: Serena comes off as a cold and callous person. She approaches things in a nihilistic and pragmatic way. She does not hold back when she speaks, she is blunt and abrasive. Serena isn’t afraid of calling out people for their BS and absolutely hates beating around the bush. Serena is extremely prideful and independent, she will almost never ask others for help. She holds herself with nobility and grace. She is a woman of focus and unyielding determination, this may cause others to misconstrue her for being stubborn and hard headed. Despite all these seemingly negative qualities, Serena is a mature young woman. If she is proven wrong, she will not hesitate to hold herself accountable for her own mistakes. Serena may seem cold-hearted however deep down inside she cares a great deal for others and other people’s suffering she is just painfully aware that she cannot help everyone especially when she feels like she can barely help herself…

Serena tries her best to remain calm and collected at all times, she tells herself that she is practicing emotional discipline, in reality she is simply bottling up her own emotions. Growing up in an environment where most people did not care what she felt. Serena has built walls around her heart choosing to suffer in silence. Serena often keeps herself emotionally distant with people. She prefers to be a lone wolf and would rather do things on her own. Due to her pessimistic view on people, she has a hard time trusting others. However, as difficult as it may be, it’s not impossible to befriend or start a relationship with Serena. Should one take the time and genuine effort to understand and respect Serena, they will find themselves a true ally. Those who are able to earn Serena’s love and friendship will be there for them through thick or thin, she would even lay down her life without any hesitation for someone she cares about. On the other hand, should one ever betray Serena’s trust, that trust is gone forever. She is the type to hold a grudge, and it is near impossible for her to forgive someone.

Serena has trouble in a team environment. She struggles as a leader for she has a habit of trying to take all the burdens herself, she finds asking for help difficult. As a subordinate, she can competently follow orders, however she much rather work alone or support her allies in secrecy and from a distance. She does not expect others to risk their life for her own well being. In battle she has the bare minimum concern for her own safety, she isn’t afraid to take the risker and more dangerous jobs. Serena has lived most of her life fighting to survive, thus she is no stranger to danger and death. Because of this Serena is uncomfortable with the softness and comfort of civilian life.

Likes:

• Cooking - Serena enjoys cooking delicious meals, good food is important to keep good morale amongst soldiers, adventurers and mercenaries. That is why every once in a while she will make the effort to make something delicious for herself.
  
• Weapons, armor, and machines - Serena enjoys blacksmithing and tinkering. When a weapon, armor, or tool is broken it can be fixed or replaced. It’s much easier to understand than people.
  
• Loyalty - She respects people who are loyal and true.
  

Dislikes:

• Civilian Life - The comforts of civilian life have made many people soft and weak.
  
• Traitors - She hates people who betray others, she finds it disgusting and she has no sympathy for traitors.
  
• Being Weak - Strength is everything in this world, no matter how kind or good you are, no matter how lofty and grand your plans may be, it all means nothing in the face of overwhelming strength.
  

Motivations:

• To Keep Fighting - she’s good at it, she’s been fighting her whole life. She can’t imagine a life without fighting or war.
  
• To be stronger - Serena wants to be strong, she needs to be strong. Weakness is a sin.
  
• Death - Serena was once afraid to die, but after all she’s been through she wants to find rest. She wants to have an honorable death as a warrior.
  

Fears:

• Losing people. After losing both her siblings, and best friend in the recent war Serena is deathly afraid to lose anyone else.
  
• Serena is afraid she will never be enough - she is afraid she will never be able to live up to her family's legacy.
  
• Love - After seeing her own mother betray her loving husband. Serena is incredibly skeptical when it comes to love. She developed a deep subconscious fear of falling in love because she is afraid of being betrayed.
