The girl let out a big ol’ yawn and stretched out her arms. It was early in the morning, even before the sun had come up but she knew that she had to get to work because there was much to do. She had another job to do today and it would be, with any luck, some easy money. But that wasn’t all. She wanted to do a little something extra today because she needed to prove to herself that she still had what it took to get the job done. Even though she was excited her laziness took her over and she fell back on the bed. She rolled over and pulled out a book which she read a grand total of two pages of before falling back asleep. She woke up an hour later to the sound of a buzzing alarm clock. “I knew this would happen,” she muttered as she forced herself off the bed and onto the floor. “Comeon get up. Don’t be a lazy ass,” she muttered to herself. She managed to stand up and looked at herself in the mirror. Yep, she was a mess. She took about half an hour to make herself look presentable. Then she took one last look at herself only to shrug, “good enough.”

She was on her way to meet up with someone that she was supposed to be working with. She had never met this person before but she had a feeling she was in for a good time. Finally she wouldn’t be working alone which meant that she could hopefully get some advice, learn a thing or two, maybe even make a friend. She couldn’t help getting excited about it all. She smiled as she pulled out her task details and looked into what exactly she was supposed to be doing. Something something about needing help and to follow a trail and something something… materials… there were too many details. She just shook her head and skipped down to the part where she was supposed to meet up with whoever it was she was working with. She expected there to be a meeting spot defined. Something like… ah yes, they were supposed to meet over by a forest where the trail started. From there they could look more into exactly what the task required. She was confident that she could at least make it to the starting point.

The walk to the forest edge was easy enough. She didn’t see anyone or any animals along the way though. That was what unsettled her and made it all hard to cope with. Was something happening that was making things scared? Nature, scared? She was starting to get goosebumps. But in any case she arrived where she was supposed to meet up and looked around. “Hello? Anyone here?” she didn’t know what kind abilities her teammate was supposed to have. Maybe he was already here? She didn’t know what to think and to be honest the tracks she was looking at looked a little too big for comfort.

"FOR MAD SCIENCE!! TIME TO GET EXCITED, YOU GUYS."

Some time had passed after Faustein had gone with his Elysium guildmate, Seika, on the rather amusing job of disrupting a zoo full of tame animals and aiding a certain mad scientist in the transformation of said animals into their more feral wildebeest counterparts and letting them rampage as well as terrorize the zoo visitors. Since then, Faustein had once again returned to his usual professional life as a practicing physician-scientist and to his mad science research which was the vehicle for his eternal quest for ever more knowledge. Before too long though, things had become rather humdrum once again, causing his bohemian soul to start crying out in protests of anguish. Fortunately, a remedy had come before he had totally succumbed to the poisonous influence of boredom.

So this time, the mission is to a hunt and retrieval type, eh? This should be rather intriguing.

Faustein had mused thus silently while readying himself and reading over the flyer once again. As always, his outfit of choice was his physician-scientist one, not only since it served as a magical armor, but also since it doubled as an advertisement for his practice and helped to attract more clients to his ever-burgeoning base. It had not taken him very long and soon he was on his way to the forest mentioned as the rendezvous spot in the flyer. This brings the story up to the present time wherein he reached the spot and parked his magic mobile in an inconspicuous part of the outskirts of the forest. Then, he visualized the meeting are via his “Diagnoscope” spell and then teleported himself there through the application of his “Xénosómectomy” spell, appearing before the young woman in a thick, opaque cloud of dust which then dissipated in short order.

So then, you are to be my job partner for this mission, eh? How intriguing, indeed. Have you any salient data for me from any observations you may have made prior to my arrival?

He asked the young woman as he stepped onto the forest floor soundlessly and then fell silent, waiting for her reply and reaction, if she would have any at all and observed her with his strikingly bright crimson red eyes which were currently hidden behind his smart holographic glasses which had polarized lenses. His voice was one that was rich, baritone but somehow hypnotically melodious in nature as whilst he spoke, it resounded through the still forest air, seeming to hang for a few brief milliseconds before fading away.

She had been wandering around when suddenly, out of nowhere, the person she had been looking for appeared right before her very eyes. She let out a shriek of fear and stumbled back, ultimately falling onto her bum and bumping her head against a big tree trunk behind her. “Ouch!” she shouted, except less loudly this time. She took a few moments to regain her bearings, stand up, and finally take a good look at this person who ended up not being a monster, per say, but rather someone she was supposed to meet up with. She was fortunate, because had this been someone nefarious… she didn’t want to think about that possibility. She recalled that he had said something when he had appeared, but for the life of her it was difficult to piece together exactly what had been said. She put her orbs onto his own as she scratched her hair and thought hard.

Ah yes, he had asked her if she had made any progress on her own yet. That was a simple enough question to answer, “Not really. I found some tracks that I guess the adventuring sort like us should start following. They’re pretty big though. I hope you pack a punch!” She introduced herself after her wishful thinking, telling him her name and affiliation. She finally got a chance to really take in the man’s appearance too. He looked like he had confidence in himself and his voice was like music to her ears. She wondered if he was doing something to it to sound like… that. Thoughts for later though.

“Shall we?” She asked the man, motioning to the tracks. She would then set off to follow the tracks which would eventually lead to a village. Following the trail further she would find that they led to a specific house. She could see motion from inside the house which was when she would turn to her new friend, if he chose to come along with her, and ask “what do you think? Think that’s the bad guy? Or a good guy?” She really had no clue. It wasn’t often that she had to make these decisions in a group. It’d be a lot simpler if she was, in fact, on her own as she could just charge on in and make the split second decision on her own. However she thought that if she was going to be a team player she might as well act the part.

"FOR MAD SCIENCE!! TIME TO GET EXCITED, YOU GUYS."

What a truly amusing specimen this young woman before me is, getting startled like that and actually displaying it in her mannerisms

Faustein had thought as he watched the young woman’s hilariously flustered reaction to his sudden, unannounced appearance before her. She had actually collided with the thick tree trunk near her and fallen to the forest floor with a groan of pain issuing from her subsequently. Then, he had continued to study her with his usual smug smirk on his thin, firm lips as she reported what she had found thus far to him

A promising start indeed, and so let us be off then. Regarding my abilities, it is difficult to tell since we have not yet encountered our target specimen.

With that, he had fallen silent and then walked along with her as they followed the trail of suspiciously large, rather bestial looking footprints or tracks to their point of origin. Along the way, Faustein was careful to note the various aspects of the Mt. Hakobe forest they were in at present. It took them a good while, but finally, they managed to reach the end of the trail. At the end of said trail was the Mt. Hakobe Settlement, which was known to be abandoned a while back. In this settlement, there was a ramshackle hovel, with what was perhaps movement being barely visible to them from its interior through the window. Faustein activated his smart holographic glasses and used them to study as much as he could, but he was soon interrupted by his job partner who had asked him whether he thought the creature inside was a “good guy” or a “bad guy”. So, he turned his head briefly to her and responded

Data, data, data…one cannot bake bricks without clay, mademoiselle. Therefore, it would behoove us to act with forbearance until we have sufficient data on the target specimen.

He said with that same smug smirk playing upon his thin, firm lips in a calm and composed manner with that same rich baritone but hypnotically melodious voice from earlier. After a few minutes, he nodded to her and resumed

Very well, let us enter the fray, then. First step is negotiation, of course.

He remarked before knocking on the door three times and then waited for the occupant to open the door for them.

Data? This was something that she didn’t understand. What data was there to gather? There was an enemy that she was tracking and given its tracks she was going to have to put it down one way or another. It was nice to think that negotiation would work, but this was a monster by any stretch of the imagination. As her partner did his thing, she meanwhile snuck around to a nearby window and peered in. “Monster!” she shouted at the top of her lungs. The big creature who had been about to open the door suddenly turned and leapt right at the window where she stood. It was all she could do to throw herself to the side as the creature broke down a huge chunk of the wall in one blow. She shouted in surprise as she dove and landed only to get a glimpse of the creature who looked first at her partner then towards her.

He spoke no words and simply tried to land a foot stomp on her. It was fortunate that she had been expecting a follow up attack. She surprised it by jumping right between his legs and then clambering up his back. She slammed her fist into his back with all her might a couple times as he started fighting relentlessly to get her off. “Do something!” she shouted to her partner who she presumed had just been watching this whole time. At least with her on his back he wouldn’t be able to take off and fly… unless she somehow got immobilized by some unforeseen ability.

Perhaps this wasn’t the best way to go about this task. Ah well, she was committed now. Maybe she should have let negotiations take place if it meant she wouldn’t end up in this kind of predicament. Learn something every day ya know?

"FOR MAD SCIENCE!! TIME TO GET EXCITED, YOU GUYS."

Faustein had sighed as he watched the young woman sneak off, only to attract the beast-man’s attention towards herself. As if there were not bad enough, she had also started to engage it combat.

How irksome this one is, she seems to possess no modicum of finesse whatsoever.

He mused thus silently while watching her get overpowered initially, but then somehow clamber up onto the beast-man’s back afterward, clearly in an attempt to hinder its movement. Then, she had called out to Faustein, urging him to action as well, a fact that incensed him even more, but he did not let that show on his face, but merely kept his impassive and inscrutable face on while initiating his spell. He made a triangular/trident form with the fingers of one hand and after briefly pointing them to some point inside the shack which was within his line of sight and making a slicing gesture with that same hand, he turned said hand towards himself to activate this “Xénosómectomy” spell. In response, he was teleported to that spot within the shack and once he arrived, he wasted no time in activating a series of spells in sequence. First was his “Diagnoscope” spell in which he put his hands together to form a rough diamond shape and aimed it at the ice-covered beastman while forming a targeting reticule made of mana in the space between his hands and beaming out the rest at the aforementioned beastman. This was done to spot the weak points in the beastman’s body and consequently a high resolution, 3D map appeared on the targeting reticule in his hands showing him those weaknesses.

Interesting, so the spot where his neck meets his body is the most prominent weakness, eh? So be it, it just so happens my repertoire possesses the requisite spells to handle this one.

Faustein mused thus silently as he studied and quickly memorized the beastman’s vulnerabilities. Then, he moved on to cast his “Immunolymphatic Hyperactivation” which involved him flooding his body with his mana to stimulate his immune system in anticipation of countering any unknown abilities that the beastman may be using on them in short order. This spell gave him a form-fitting and blinding golden aura which then completely surrounded him. Once these were taken care of, he then proceeded to cast his “Defibrillator Palm – Twin Spears” spell which caused his hands to become charged with electricity which sparked and crackled intermittently, causing a shrill, ear-splitting noise resembling that of a 1000 birds chirping simultaneously. He achieved this by channeling his mana into his hands while transforming its nature to that of lightning element affinity. Finally, he cast his “Mana Threads – Constriction Ligatures” spell which allowed him to channel his mana into fingertips and then emit it in the form of a total of 10 electric blue colored, pure mana-forged threads, one per finger which then dangled from his hands to the floor, ready for use. Now that he was done making preparations, he whipped his hands towards the ice-covered beastman and due to its distracted state, was able to wrap the piano wire-like mana threads around its neck

You may want to stand clear of this, as it is going to be quite shocking to behold for a greenhorn such as yourself.

He remarked as a warning to her and then channeled the powerful charge of electricity in his hands through the mana thread to attack the ice-covered beastman with a powerful, blinding jolt which caused a fair degree of electrical damage to it while also causing it to asphyxiate by reeling in the mana-forged threads to constrict them around the beastman’s neck. Needless to say, the beastman uttered deafening and blood curdling howls of anguish at the combination spell attack made on it by Faustein due to not only the life being choked out of it slowly but surely, but also the powerful electrical current which was circulating through it for those few moments. The intense heat from the electrical attack had even started melting off large parts of its frosty armor-like skin to form a puddle of boiling water on the floor of the shack which it called home. While this was occurring and throughout this attack, Faustein’s lips had contorted upwards, causing a disturbingly maniacal smile to appear on his face and an equally unnerving deranged cackle to issue from his lips. It remained to be seen what the beastman would do in response to this, but since Faustein had made the proper preparations through the use of his spells, he was not worried about the results to any significant degree.

As she was busy wrestling the beast she couldn’t help but notice out of the corner of her eye that her partner wasn’t being nearly as quick to action as she had anticipated. If she was going to be left to defeat this thing on her own then she was going to be in for a pretty rough time. She could easily see how such a monster could overpower her. Even as she attacked it she felt a frosty effect start to set in, making her incredibly cold even in this heat of summer. She didn’t know what could possibly be the cause, mostly because all she could really see was the back of this beast. She barely opened her eyes anymore because she kept getting buffeted by the wings of the creature as well. It was really quite unfortunate if she had to tell the truth of the matter. She managed to get one more peek out towards her partner and for a moment she thought that he had fled the scene, as she couldn’t see him anymore.

She quickly ruled out this possibility. She heard something from within the house that pretty much told her that he had made it in there, though she didn’t think she ever heard a door open. Her partner was just full of surprises now wasn’t he? She just kept beating on the back of the beast as hard as she could, feeling her limbs grow colder and colder. She knew that she wasn’t going to get much more damage in before she was rendered helpless. She didn’t even see it happen, but soon enough the creature’s neck was wrapped with some kind of strange thread that made it stop attacking her so badly. She fell to the ground, mostly paralyzed by some kind of freezing effect and then she sort of laid there on the floor helpless for some time.

Soon enough her partner’s attack kicked into effect and the beast started getting jolted. In all the madness it kicked her towards some debris and that was enough to free her from her immobility. She hopped to her feet, sweating profusely, then picked up a big chunk of rock only to swing it around and toss it at the creature point blank. It was highly effective at making it even angrier than it had been. That was okay, to an exctent, because it kept its focus on her for the most part. She was the most accessible of its two enemies so it grabbed her by the arm and more or less smashed her into the ground. She was not enjoying getting beaten up so much and now that she was in this compromising position she couldn’t exactly fight back.

“Don’t you got another one of those?” She called out to her partner, “this thing can’t be that strong!” she shouted as she kept getting pounded.

"FOR MAD SCIENCE!! TIME TO GET EXCITED, YOU GUYS."

Faustein had been hanging back to watch the frosty beastman’s reaction to his spells and luckily, his spells had their intended effect. Even more fortuitous had been the fact that the young woman had the agility to leap off the beast’s back just in time to avoid getting electrocuted along with it.

Fascinating, so this beast is capable of inducing frostbite upon contact, eh? Well, then this strategy is the perfect counter for that. That is unless it can freeze pure mana too, of course.

This reverie of his which he had slipped into whilst observing the effects of the frosty beastman’s body upon that of the young woman had been abruptly interrupted by the renewed sounds of clashing, this time due to the young woman attacking the frosty beastman with a giant rock. Naturally, this only served to incense it further and consequently, it had forced itself forward to clasp the young woman’s arm and then proceeded to smash her against the floor. That was when she cried out to him asking whether he had “another of those”, which presumably meant that he should use the previous spell sequence again to decimate their target, aka the frosty beastman, once and for all.

Well, there are two methods that can be applied here: one in which leaves her to get pounded by the target while my spells destroy it, and the other in which first a spell is cast to reel that insane young woman into a barrier spell while at the same time attacking the beast. Now which one is the most logical option of the two?

He blinked slowly in response and moved his head similar to how an owl would when it is attempting to gain a panoramic view of its surroundings as he let his mind process the results of the calculations he was running currently. In the end, since the young woman was proving to be such an efficient decoy to draw the frosty beastman’s ire, Faustein decided to opt for the second strategy. With that in mind, he snapped his fingers once, and as if in response, his hair increased in size, length, volume and density to an explosive degree, till such a point where there was a towering pile of it all around him.

Then, he snapped his fingers again and then clenched his fist once to complete casting of his "Needle Hair Cocoon" spell, and as if in response again, the hair pile surged forward like a tsunami and grasped the young woman by both legs and reeled her in towards him. After this, it promptly coalesced around her to create a large translucent dome with long, slender, lance- tipped spikes all over its surface. This was all done with his right hand while he still maintained his electrocuting and asphyxiating spell attack on the frosty beastman. Needless to say, the beastman in question did not like the fact that its prey, the young woman, had been wrenched from its grasp and so, it charged towards them in order to resume its attack while uttering a deafening and blood curdling roar which shook the partially destroyed walls of the hovel.

How pathetic a specimen you are, blindly charging in like that towards your enemy. Oh well, you will simply have to learn the consequences of this in the most painful way possible.

Faustein mused with a smug smirk and did nothing for the time being as his barrier was not just a simple defensive construct, but actually had a trap woven into its programming.

    3…2…and…1.

He thought, and smirked even more as the instant when the frosty beastman came within the counterstrike range of his barrier, every one of the spikes on its surface flew high into the air and then descended in a veritable hailstorm upon their target, aka the frosty beastman. For a few moments, due to the dust getting kicked up by the beastman’s attempts to defend itself, nothing could be discerned, but soon both Faustein and the young woman if she was quick enough to catch it, were witness to the frosty beastman which now had the spikes from the barrier’s surface sticking into it body all over, making it look like a porcupine and also causing it to bleed streams of melted ice everywhere on the floor of the hovel. As if that were not enough, Faustein’s lightning mana imbued energy threads constricted sharply around the beast’s neck, causing it to flail about in a futile attempt to draw what would be its final breath. Simultaneously, the lightning element mana coursed through its body again as it had before and electrocuted it in a blinding flash of light while the mana threads caused it to asphyxiate for even more damage. As a result of this, the frosty beastman was now nothing more than a badly charred, completely unrecognizable corpse which slumped onto the hovel’s wooden floor with a large puddle of boiling water all around it. In this manner, the beastman was finally destroyed and now Faustein along with the young woman were free to retrieve the spoils of war, aka the artifact that had been requested of them by their client. Since the massacre was over now, the disturbingly deranged, sadistic look which had been present on Faustein’s face again as he watched the beastman go down vanished from view and his facial expression reset itself to its usual impassive, stern, distant mode once more.

Mission complete. Suggestion: Immediate retrieval of target artifact from current location.

He said simply and then fell silent, waiting for the young woman’s reaction and/or response

Post by Hinata 17th June 2020, 9:38 am

This was probably the worst time she’d had with a mission since she had started this lifestyle. She was no longer starting her task then when she started being beaten senseless by a huge monster of sorts. She didn’t know where she went wrong. Did she get out of bed on the wrong side of bed? Did she get mistaken for someone else when they were handing out jobs? She really couldn’t put her finger on it. It was a big ol’ mess and she hated it. But whatever, she guessed she could deal with the pain so long as she didn’t get permanently damaged for it. She really didn’t like the whole concept of going out and getting her ass kicked any more than she liked sitting around and doing homework all day. She thought of it as a big ol’ bore and she wanted nothing more than to chill with her money rewards after this was all over. But she never got exactly what she wanted nor did she expect to. For now she was going to be stuck laying on the ground, being incredibly useless and potentially knocked out if someone didn’t do something quick in the next few seconds.

But then things turned around. Before she knew what had even happened some kind of material came over her to protect her from damage. Was it her partner? Was it someone that actually cared whether she lived or died? Well, maybe she wouldn’t go that far. Perhaps he was just doing this as a kindness to draw the beats away from her. It worked, at first. She was covered by the protective cushion, though she had to admit that it was pretty spikey and painful, and was pulled away. She kept quiet along the way, not wanting to upset any of her internal organs by a cheer. She was safe, for now. She peeked out from her protective cover and saw that the beast was bewildered as well. It almost looked like he wanted to stop fighting too. She didn’t even want to fight the beast in the first place but if he was going to go busting through walls and shit then she really didn’t have a choice now did she? She let out a huge enormous sigh that she felt all the way to her core. Even that hurt. What was she going to do if even breathing was going to be a hassle?

She was about to wiggle out and try to do something, anything to prove her worth. She didn’t know… maybe she could go and kick it for all the pain it caused her. No, that was surely going to be a one way ticket to getting her ass kicked again. Maybe she could shout at it to distract it? No, that was going to end up with it charging right at her. Again, not exactly what she had in mind. So she really didn’t know what to do except defer to her partner who seemed a lot more capable with these kinds of things than she was. He stood there, looking confident and unworried about anything that was going on. Maybe this was just a regular Tuesday to him, or maybe he knew how to hide his fear? She wished she was like him though. Calculated with witty comments to throw in here and there. All she knew how to do was get lost in her thoughts and think about every little thing she could have done better. She often hated herself for how she took up so much time thinking about what she could have done better and never acting on it.

She watched with amusement and awe as her partner busted out some kind of electric thread type move. She’d seen it in action before, and it was still as marvelous now as it had been before. The beast stood no chance against the electricity and was jolted pretty much to death. “Yep , that’s how you take down a beast,” she commented, as if anyone cared. She then proded it with a stick to make sure it was all good and taken care of. She regretted the choice as it was just bloody and it smelled horrible. She wanted to vomit just a little. She thought of grapes and smoothies to calm her stomach then shook her head. “I suppose we should go inside and look for that artifact? Or whatever it is we’re supposed to get here. I’ve honestly forgot in all the madness.” She laughed a little. It hurt. She wished she had some healing powers right about now, or a way to teleport to the nearest hospital. She didn’t want to think about how much money this kind of healing was going to cost but she was sure she was going to need more than a little rest.

Her partner was quick to suggest that they go get the artifact which she did without him even having to ask. “Yeah, I got it,” she smiled at his odd personality. It was nice not to be the only weird one around. She then took the artifact and marched it all the way back to the person who wanted it. It didn’t take all that long to get there. She just followed the tracks that had led her here. They were easy to follow now that she knew where she was going and what landmarks to look out for. She presumed her partner would follow behind her and that they would be able to make it back okay. Once she got back she turned in the artifact and was paid a hefty sum for all her efforts. Now someone might have called that the end of this all, but no they’d be wrong. She had so much more time to waste before she could call it quits. Like seriously, so much time she didn’t know what the hell she was going to do with it all. At least she had some money now, that was good for something or another.

She turned to her partner and gave him his share of the money then she said, “I guess I’ll see you around,” then she shrugged and parted ways. They hadn’t had much time to discuss anything together but she did hope that she would see the boy again sometime. He was too unique to not want to get to know better. Hopefully next time she would be of more use since she really didn’t have much to offer except companionship and some light hearted attitude. She went her own way and he went his own way (ooc permission given). So now all she had to do was go home and get some nice rest. She figured that she had to extend her “adventure” out by a ways so for now she was just going to be chillin. She went to bed after eating some pizza for dinner and then realized that her injuries weren’t all that bad. She would probably be fine after a couple days. That was no big deal as she was going to save money by not going to the hospital. Hopefully she wouldn’t have some majorly suckage chronic pain in her back that would debilitate her for a lifetime… right?

The next morning she got up same as most days and headed downstairs. She was feeling weak after yesterday and wanted to walk the abandoned and badly cleaned streets. The rain, as usual, has fallen again and the sidewalks are strewn with soggy waste as well as trash destroyed by surrounding animals, in search of food. She breathed in, and close her eyes. To say that it has already been beautiful here. Now, only a big ugly and a big bald asshole make animation. They yell too loud. Their hypothetical future customers do not just ignore them, they run away from their vision, preferring to go through the surrounding streets. What a good choice. She casually put her hands in the pockets of her jacket after having mechanically tried to take her flask, still missing. Where is she already? She had to think about it for a few seconds, closing her eyes, concentrating as if all the power of her memory is required. Ah yes, she remembered took it from her earlier. No but what? Finally. She change streets and begin slowly, but surely, her research which already promises to be long, painful, and boring, like the legs of a particularly tired dancer.

Well, speaking of dancers, maybe she could go to the dancers rather than doing her chores for the day. She dug somewhat in her pockets, while walking. It also seemed to her that she was light. Did she leave all her money at home? Painfully swallowing, she almost wondered if begging at the corner of a street would be a fair way to resolve the situation, but her critical and rational mind reminded her that doing this chore would probably be a better idea. She then lost all hope like the beginning of an amazing adventure. Having fun like that would be for another time. It was going to be a bad day, as usual. As she said earlier, the weather was bad and the streets were foul, but in addition, almost no one littered the wide streets of this place. How to go unnoticed as a future customer if you are one of the only people present in an area of dissatisfaction? Damn fate, she’d tell you, they are going after her. She stopped. A bench to her right smiles at her. She wave her hand like a madman and sit on it in a great groan of joy.

How long have she been standing, already, ten minutes? Fifteen? Very good. Have you heard the theory that a girl should never walk too long? Surely not, and it will be for another time! Now she had those chores…She got up as if all hope had returned to her. A reward awaits her at the end of its success. She remembered where she saw these first men. Many talked about it, but no one dared to act. Those taking the little pills became so big and so strong that nobody dared to rub them, except death, who came to take them without waiting for an invitation. They had appeared near the southern entrance to the town. Her info told her that the laboratory was completely in the opposite direction. A simple and concise tactic: focus people's attention on one place to be quiet in the other. In order to at least have information, she had to quickly go to the scene where all these deadly pill purchases were taking place. Getting there quickly, she quickly saw the vendors around the corner. She leaned a little further, looking up at the sky. She almost expected it to be difficult to find them, but logic says that a seller only wants to be seen. She dealt with them then went home. She was way too tired.

The freshness of the next morning revived the pains of the previous tasks she’d completed, that is to say the completion of a bunch of missions and jobs. Her aching joints were visible at dawn as she walked towards a small village indicated by the next adventure she had chosen. Some thieves had stopped her on her way but nothing really dangerous, he had eliminated them using simple hand to hand combat and nothing more complicated... His bag full of provisions. Some slices of fresh bread, two gourds filled with water, as well as some trinkets. She was traveling at normal speed along the road and had taken the opportunity to recover medicinal plants as well as edible mushrooms. The sun could be discerned through the shade of the trees above her body in addition to the freshness of the previous day. Drops still cool fell along the woman’s face and the same temperature refreshed her, although her whitish skin had never really appreciated the sun or the tan. Noises of wheels resounded not far from here as well as the cries of an adult man. She rushed towards the cart in order to notice what was going on, she saw with ger piercing orbs several men who tried to steal the goods on a cart.

Finally speaking of merchandise, he almost had to talk about furniture. “Okay stop ransacking this cart,” she said almost boardly, “you will be dealing with me now. I’ve been tasked with rounding up some thieves and you lot fit the bill. So chop chop, let’s go. If you wouldn’t mind tying yourselves up that’d be great.” Laughter resounded from the three thieves when they saw who was threatening them, a simple girl. It was worth nothing in the eyes of the grown men with developed bodies. Her right eye quivers during the thieves' laughter because of their mockery. The bad part only asked to kill them... A mature voice rose from one of the thieves. “What does a girl like you want? Stop us!?” A new burst of laughter resounds from the three thieves. But this time, one was missing. The child had disappeared from the vision of the three thieves in order to move to the right of the one closest to the cart using his excessive speed due to his talent in using special abilities. She gave chase. When she arrived alongside the thief, her right foot was already lodged in his throat in order to send him waltzing away from the goods to be protected.

The second thief then rushed on the kid to stab him in the throat, extremely flexible the child lowered himself below the dagger before catching the thief by the neck using his two feet . He swirled around the thief's neck to confuse him. Once this done, he struck the thief's neck with the edge of his hand to knock him out on the spot. Seeing the girl’s speed, the third thief fled screaming along the small dirt road between the tops of the buildings. This said thief stopped short in his race when she had just launched a rock at the neck of the poor guy. The head of the thieves who wanted to escape, however, was nowhere to be found... Then suddenly someone came out furious from beneath the cart, which had the gift of surprising the girl who stepped back several steps. The nervousness was visible on the traveler's face. “Thank you very much ! Really thank you, I owe you a deubt! You saved my goods and my life too!! Thank you kindly!” She quickly explained to the traveller that she was hired to deal with this kind of nonsense and that she was there to help him in his journey to travel to the next town.

This little warm-up against the three thieves had done her good and she was ready to face the dangers that may come. The traveller continued to thank her following her rescue and she decided to offer to advance on the road to the village because otherwise it would never end. Sweat beaded on her forehead following the fiery temperature that the sun provided to the area around her. They had already traveled several miles while a new band of thieves appeared in front of them in order to requisition the goods... She ended up darting towards the attackers throwing a series of various rocks at each of the thieves in order to knock them out them. Using her more powerful attacks would be useless against your every day opponents. Once the rocks were launched, the girl noticed that a chain had just smashed the rocks which fell clearly against the earth. A smile spread on the girl’s face at this precise moment, this one was not an idiot. She first observed the surrounding land. Soft, light but hard at the same time. Perfect for conducting combat on. The thief in the middle of the three knocked down the chain in the direction of the girl.

But in the end, he was no match for her. She grabbed the chain and used the weapon against him and then his two little friends. Then afterwards, she simply helped the traveller make it to the town and then called it a day. She had earned quite a lot of money over the past handful of days. She wondered what her partner from that beast encounter was doing with his free time. She hoped she would meet him again soon, but to do that she probably had to take on some more dangerous stuff. These small fries were no doubt too easy to take care of.
