The red-eyed figure of evil was introduced to the world at an early age. The harsh world and the harsh realities that came with it. Clu was young... he went by a different name back then. A perfectly ordinary name with a perfectly ordinary family. He'd never really awakened to any interesting personality traits at this point; nothing out of the ordinary, nothing bizarre. If you were to step back and look at the man he had become now, your jaw would slacken and you may just die from shock. There'd be no telling this young child transformed into this figure of anarchism. It started when he was young. The Rune Knights were having a hard time of things, a short while before their official disbandment only a few years later. A visionary headed up the particular squad that came to his village on with the idea of conscription. He planned to transform ordinary kids; lead them by the hand from the ground up and shift them into individuals that radiated ruthlessness, idealists with no remorse and calculated minds with which to carry out the most devious of plans. Like we said, the young child (his name unknown to us) was whisked away to a special facility hidden deep within Era. The Rune Knights begun their transformation process there. Subjecting him to the darkest and most twisted forms of indoctrination. The human mind couldn't even comprehend what kind of bizarre and malicious experimentations Clu was subjected to. This process went on for about a year until the young man had transformed into the man we know today. Clu went on to direct multiple high-risk missions. Each were carefully planned to the finest detail and not once did he slip up. He calculated every villain's plan, escape, intention to the last possible inkling giving the Rune Knights a very easy time of rounding up the criminals Clu was personally designated to bring in. This cycle of back and forth continued on for a few years but there was one thing the Rune Knights hadn't considered when developing minds such as these. There was always a downside to having idealists within squads. Clu soon began to see the injustice behind the idea that the Magic Council could easily subject their own will upon any and everyone. He didn't like that they were the voice of justice, that they could decide someone's fate with no outside opinion. There was no equality to it. The whole idea of this supreme authoritative body dictating their presence over all made him mad. So he left. Disappearing without a trace from all Rune Knight records, the former squad that served with him (containing any and all information regarding whom he may have been before) slaughtered in calculated yet brutal ways. This would be his first step. His step into creating an entirely new world structured by a more primeval sense of the word justice. The world would pay for the unjust system forced upon it.
