Description: One strange day, Sigurd was walking through a market dealing in unique poultry, when he saw an elaborately patterned egg creature flying through the alleyways, as a salesman tried to capture it. It seemed to be relatively intelligent, and was trying to communicate with what sounded like muffled chirps. Finally, it released a series of lightning based self defense efforts, which singed market stalls, but the individual who was chasing it seemed to have come prepared with lightning resistant armor. As the man closed in on the egg creature, Sigurd stepped in between the two, and asked how much the creature cost.

At first, the egg was concerned Sigurd would eat it, but soon it realized Sigurd simply felt that such an intelligent and rare creature should not be eaten. In some sense, it seems to have imprinted on Sigurd, and thinks of him as a mother-father, though Sigurd would insist people use the world father-figure when describing their relationship. As Tchaik is being taught how to focus its lightning manipulating powers, Sigurd likes to take it out on missions as Darknight. However, when Sigurd is out as his civilian self, he carries Tchaik in a large satchel, with little mesh coverings for it to look out of.

This is not effortless however. Tchaik is 1.5 ft wide at its widest point, and including its head feathers, about a 2.7 ft tall. It's feathers are actually extremely soft and pleasant to touch. The shape of its eyes are the only feature it has to display emotion, so Tchaik has a large vocabulary of coos and chirps, which Sigurd is still learning to interpret. The egg creature is about 60 lbs, so carrying it around in a sack is a good workout for Sigurd. Tchaik moves around by manipulating air, but it seems to take energy, as when it rests it sinks to the ground, hence why Sigurd can feel its weight when he's carrying it. Personality wise, Tchaik is childish, and unless given specific instructions, will have trouble deciding what to do.
