    WINTER WONDERHELL: FAIRY TAIL ROLEPLAY'S CHRISTMAS EVENT!

    How many players can join in a topic?: 2-5 players may sign up per topic, but you may not have multiples of your own characters in the same topic. There is no limit on sign-ups, meaning everyone will have a chance to do the event. You may only do the event job once per character.

    How much do I need to type?: As it's a job-based event there is a set word count based on the highest ranked player! Luckily these are much lower than would normally be needed for the exp being rewarded!

    D: 500 words per player.
    C: 1000 words per player.
    B: 2000 words per player.
    A: 3000 words per player.
    S+: 4000 words per player.

    Where: Anywhere in Earthland!

    Synopsis of Event/What's going on: Throughout Earthland strange magical portals have been appearing, these portals give off a cold sensation and contain colourations of red, green, and icy blue; tones representative of the holiday everyone has come to know and love, Christmas. Something strange is occurring within Santa Claus’ domain and the normally happy and kind population of the realm have transformed into creatures of evil and started to invade Earthland believing they are the cause of the problem. The Magic Council has initiated a state of emergency continent-wide and is asking for the help of mages to find out the cause of this invasion and stop it, they would prefer all mages participating to approach the winter invaders with a talk-first approach though if violence is necessary; use it.

    *Any mage who came at the behest of the Council will simply be fighting until the monster's boss has been slain. Dark Mages have been offered an alternative route with completely separate enemies (since you wouldn’t want to directly aid the Magic Council); they can instead take these opportune moments of chaos to aid the monsters in destroying the towns whilst avoiding the Rune Knight’s law-abiding grasp!




    Light Guild: Monsters/Enemies: (All enemies must be rolled for, including the boss. Whether you decide to destroy the threat or help them back through the portals is up to the individual team. At least one of every enemy must be dealt with before you can turn in. You may add in more enemies without rolling if you so wish.)

    Weak;
    x3 - 5 Santa's Helpers:  The normal three foot happy and giggly elven helpers are no longer how you imagine them to be; they are dressed in a way that would make you feel like you were looking at a negative photo of them. Armed with candy cane swords and frost covered snowballs, these people, though extremely cute, are not to be underestimated as they deal 25% rank damage if they hit you. They require 10 hits to take down.

    Normal;
    x2 - 3 Polar Bears: These white furry bears when reared on their hind legs easily reach nine feet, though naturally tame creatures, the chaos and confusion has driven them into a rage-induced frenzy. Bites and scratches deal user rank damage. These require 15 hits to take down.

    Strong;
    x1 – 2 Christmas Trees: These large fir trees stand fifteen feet tall and are covered in decorations like tinsel and baubles with presents underneath. The baubles can be launched from the tree, akin to a pistol, which deal 50% rank damage when hit by them, the tinsel is able to completely immobilise an individual for a single round if captured within its snare. The real threat of these beautiful looking trees however is the presents underneath as you never know exactly what you are going to get. These can range from full rank damage, debuffs (max allowed for passive of char rank), AoE damage, elemental damage, a single round of immobilisation, or damage over time to 2.5x the characters rank. They do however take 25% more damage from fire so longs they are not covered in snow or frost. These trees take 25 hits to take down If confronting one of these monsters, you’re required to roll a die from 1-6 which will determine what kind of dangerous presents lurk beneath the roots.
    — 1. User-Ranked AoE damage (to the whole team).
    — 2. One round of immobilisation.
    — 3. Full Spell-Rank Damage (just to you).
    — 4. Transformed into an animal (of your choice).
    — 5. Temporarily drained of all mana for two posts.
    — 6. All your clothes disappear.

    BOSS;
    Santa Claus:  If you haven’t realised by now, there can only be one coordinator of a grand-scale attack such as this one. You guessed it, it’s the man in red himself; Santa Claus. Why you may ask is a good question and one easily answered, he is sick and tired of all the darkness in the world and has decided the best way to prevent it is to end it. Santa, like the Christmas trees has an array of attacks, however, unlike the christmas trees some of them may be positive effects. (To find out if you get a good or a bad effect you roll a normal dice. Damage can either be made into healing for the team or is dealt as damage to Santa at the lowest member of the teams rank damage e.g. If rolling an even number like two, you’ll receive a positive effect and your team will be healed by the lowest member of the team’s rank damage (i.e. I’m B-Rank and the lowest rank member of my team, I roll an even so the team would heal by 80HP; the reverse is true for an odd number whereby instead of healing, you’d be damaged by the roll). Santa is accompanied by 1 of each type of enemy and he himself requires 35 hits to take down.

    Dark Guild: Monsters/Enemies: (All enemies must be rolled for, including the boss. These enemies differ in the sense that you must destroy them otherwise they’ll simply apprehend you and take you to the council. At least one of every enemy must be dealt with before you can turn in. You may add in more enemies without rolling if you so wish.)

    Weak;
    x3 - 5 Rune Infantry: Regular Rune Knight soldiers armed to the teeth with swords, shields and magical canons with one idea in mind; to prohibit you from destroying any towns or cities and eventually taking you into custody. These soldiers do 0.25x rank damage if they are to hit you, albeit their attacks are slow and uncoordinated due to the simplicity of their station. These enemies take 10 hits to take down.

    Normal;
    x2 – 3 Rune Cavalry: Mounted on magical albino lions, these Rune Knights boast similar strength to that of the infantry above. The knights themselves can only do up to 0.5x rank damage. However, their strength therein lies on the mount underneath them. These lions can launch blue fire streams from their mouth which do user-rank damage as well as unleash bites and claw attacks which do the same amount. These enemies require 15 hits to take down.

    Strong;
    x1 – Lieutenant Scrooge: An older gentleman who has served with the Rune Knights for a great number of years now. Though particularly infamous for his detest of Christmas spirit, he still feels like it’s his duty to protect the continent he knows and loves against the oncoming Dark Guild threat as they attempt to take advantage of the ensuing chaos. Scrooge has the ability to alter the reality his opponents see. Similarly to the Christmas tree, Scrooge’s abilities are determined by what you roll with a six-sided die. For example, if he were to appear in your thread, you’re expected to immediately roll a six-sided die and the following illusion will occur depending on the number rolled.

    — 1. You’re thrust into an out-of-space world within a zero-gravity environment. Scrooge stands before you in a gigantic mechanical robot suit. He takes 25 hits to take down. He has lasers which do 2x user ranked damage and can also throw out generic punches and kicks which do single user ranked damage.
    — 2. You’re thrust into a small domestic home where you are infantile versions of yourselves. Scrooge has transformed into a motherly figure who stands several feet taller than all of you. You must think on your feet here and defeat her despite being so young and small; he (or she) takes 25 hits to take down. Her frying pan has the ability to deliver powerful strikes unto your fragile body doing 2x user-ranked damage.
    — 3. You’re thrown into a location that hosts a massive volcano. Meteors rain down from the sky and this time, Scrooge has taken on the form of a massive fire-breathing dragon. You are your regular selves this time but a daunting task lies ahead of you. Scrooge takes 30 hits of user-ranked damage to take down. Fireballs and fire breath are the dragon’s weapon of choice which do 1.5x user ranked damage. These are very fast and tricky to avoid.
    — 4. You’re thrown into a graveyard where Scrooge has taken on the form of the grim reaper. You’ve also transformed into spectral versions of yourselves whereby you’re unable to use magic and must instead rely on your tactile cunning in order to achieve victory. Scrooge only needs to be hit 20 times to be defeated.
    — 5. The Wild West is where you’ve been transported to. Your group stands in a line infront of Scrooge. All of you are equipped with a revolver containing six bullets. You’re required to roll a hit/miss die to determine whether your shot has hit or missed Scrooge. You will also do the same for him to determine whether his shot hits or misses you. You must take turns firing at him and for every shot you have, he also gets a shot. The bullet does 3x user ranked damage which is hefty though Scrooge will only take four successful shots in order to kill.
    — 6. You’re placed aboard a hefty pirate ship whereby you have to commandeer you and your “crewmates” to defeat Scrooge’s big man’o’war. He floats only a few metres away, his canons aiming in your direction. His canons do 2x user-ranked damage if they were to connect whilst he can also board your ship and utilise his sword which deals user ranked damage if you let him get too close. His ship can take 30 hits before being defeated.

    BOSS;
    Commander Grinch: A man of unrealistic levels of renown within the Rune Knight ranks, he has challenged himself with leading the task force against the dark guilds who are taking advantage of the chaos. He inspires strength across the entirety of his forces and should his presence come early in your thread he’ll grant every enemy you haven’t defeated five extra hits before they can be truly taken down. He wields snow and ice magic with great utility and often uses it to conquer his enemies. His list of spells will be listed below. Grinch operates with similar mechanics to Santa whereby when you face him you’re required to roll a six-sided die. If the number is even you’re granted a buff which heals you and your team with the lowest individual’s user rank spell damage. If the number is odd, Commander Grinch will take advantage of the situation and deal damage to you and your entire squad for the lowest individual’s user rank spell damage (read Santa Claus enemy description for an in-depth example of how this mechanic works). This must be done at least three times before defeating him. He requires 35 hits before eventually taking defeat.

    Swirling Blizzard: This creates a swirling snowstorm around you and your team. Unless appropriately disabled, this will close in on you with every post made and each time does 0.5 user rank damage. It lasts for a total of 5 posts before reaching you and if not disabled by then, it is able to do 1.5 user rank damage until disabled.

    Ice Knight: Grinch can materialise ice around his skin forming crystallised armour around his body. This can withstand four hits of damage before finally breaking and in this time is impenetrable to any and all attacks (unless someone were to use fire and melt, in which case the armour would shatter instantaneously).

    Snowcalibur: Grinch can summon a blade of epic proportions in his hand made entirely out of ice. This sword is exceptionally strong and will deal 2x user ranked damage upon connection with your body. It will also momentarily freeze body parts if it were to hit you until you were to remove the effect, slowing you down.

    Gates of the North Pole: Icy blue portals will appear behind Grinch from which he summons a plethora of weapons and fire them towards you. Each weapon does 1.5x user ranked damage on contact you as well as freeze you in place unless a teammate were to come and rescue you. You can also get out of this yourself but would have to wait for one post in order to do so.

    WINTER WONDERHELL: REWARDS

    • 1 Rank of XP above the player (Max 10-year rank exp & S rank+ gets 2x 10 year exp)
    • 50k jewels for each player. (H ranks receive triple jewels [150k] reward as well)
    — Note: No bonuses are added to rewards, as it is still an event.

    Big thanks to the combined efforts of staff and the dev team to bring this together, great job!

    This event lasts until the 29th of January 2019 from which all turn-ins will be considered null and void so keep this in mind!
