    mission info:

    Still in the city of magic, the city resting on the west sea, the one the magic clans and non-magic clans of this land called Rose Garden; Kaori had came across a parchment attached to a wall with a strange rectangle on it. The item was displaying various symbols and according to the paper on the wall, it let people talk to other people anywhere in the world no matter the distance. The tiny, almost obscure writing at the bottom that Kaori continuously saw as annoying gave more information that she though should be put in larger writing since it was actually important, good information to have.

    The parchments' obscure area was one of those places where the writing was intentionally small, and packed with writing to discourage people from reading it. They did that to avoid people reading over parts that may discourage them from obtaining the item, but the parchment had the item lested as free so this didn't make sense. Upon reading it however, Kaori was able to understand a bit better why that would be bad. The name of this blue rectangle was an iLac, and it ran the risk of over heating, exploding randomly, spontaneously combusting, not working at all, and sounding off while one was avoiding death. Those were just some of the risks of the item, and the reason it had those issues is that it was experimental technology, no wonder it was free; the recipients were the test subjects, and according to the tiny writing, injury caused by the device wasn't the makers' problem.

    Thinking deeply, Kaori crossed her arms under her chest and angled her head down while closing her eyes. From the outside, her look didn't change all that much on account of the mask, but behind that mask she seemed to be in a trance like state. "The object's quite dangerous..." she said in a hushed tone that was muffled further by the mask she wore. "But if test subjects report issues, the company can know what to fix. That results in a safer thingy being distributed, which means less and less people would be at risk." Knowing the dangers, Kaori decided it was worth the risk. The next issue was that she didn't have any way of leaving since the money she was given was enough to get her to Rose Garden, not back. She'd seen a large amount of ships sleeping at the waters' edge, and knew that there would have to be at least one she could hitch a ride on to get close to the place where they were distributing the dangerous devices. With that knowledge, Kaori began making her way back to the ships' nest.

    Just as Kaori thought, there was a ship sleeping that would go as close to the land of the neutral as possible by water. Walking past thee men with blood coming out the back of their skulls from where Kaori bashed them with a metal pole, the ninja left the room. The men weren't dead, just unconscious. To leave a corpse in plain view would be disgraceful to her saviours who had branded her as one of their own, provided her shelter, water, and hot food. The ship seemed to be empty as peeking at it from afar revealed no movement. Getting closer it was confirmed to be abandoned for now, its' owner likely preparing for his departure. Stowing away was below Kaori since it meant staying in a dark, dank, smelly place while hiding from someone she had no intention of killing in the first place. She would just wait till they left port, and then force him to take her along for the ride.

    Having fallen asleep begind a set of crates, Kaori woke up to the sound of water tapping the side of the ship. It was he que to go topside, which when she did she immediately rested her hand on a man whose hands in turn were resting on the steering wheel. He jumped, getting ready to draw a knife to defend himself but quickly failing the attempt. Kaori had grabbed his wrist, holding it firm to keep the weapon in its' sleeve. Her other hand was grabbing his other wrist and keeping it firmly planted on the side of the wheelhouse while she leaned closer to him, and he nervously leaned back. He was a young fellow, no older than Kaori. He was also strong, and very cute looking but in a masculine way. At the same time, he was afraid, shaking while in an uncomfortable position. Kaori's breasts were pressing against his chest causing him to feel flustered, and her mask was only inches from his face. He asked in a shaking tone for Kaori to not kill him, stating that his life isn't worth taking. Kaori's response was a poetic "The only life worth taking is the life that wishes to take other lives." delivered in a soft, relieving tone.

    The mans' shaking had stopped after hearing that and Kaori gently released his wrists. "I am Kaori of the Lareci clan. I request passage to the village of the peaceful, will you take me?" she said calmly, backing up to give the captain his space back. The captain said he didn't have much choice since Kaori had waited till they were in the middle of the ocean to ask, and the masked woman took a seat nearby. The trip to the village of the peaceful was long, and gave way to a great deal of conversation between the captain John and Kaori. As payment for the ride, Kaori assisted the captain John in taking the crates from below to a cart at the docks where they parted ways after. Using her natural ability to charm animals, Kaori acquired a wild horse to get her to the land of the neutral clan faster, and by the end of a third day she was there.

    Kaori knew few places, even in her home land that were open at night. She waited outside the city for day break, the horse she'd acquired had stayed with her, keeping her warm through the slightly chilly night. Kaori was uneasy in the city, she could feel her connection to her magic was gone. It wasn't weakened, but it was completely and utterly gone. It was as though someone took a sword and cut her arm off, the feeling of panic at the loss of her magic just by location. Her only solace was that she had enough skill with weapons to defend herself from the common rabble, and anyone with magic who came here would be on her level as well. It wasn't long till she arrived at the place with the free pocket bomb called an iLac, and as fast as she got the object she had began leaving the land of the neutral clan, no longer wanting to feel neutralized.
