    Job Info:

The Royal Castle wasn't exactly the best place for Cirven to be. He wasn't part of a legal guild or anything but he wasn't part of a dark guild either. That didn't mean his past wouldn't come to haunt him in some way by someone who could figure out that he was a past member of a dark guild unwillingly. A dark guild that forced him to kill people so that they did not harm his sister which ultimately ended with his sister dying among other things. It wasn't like he couldn't fit in with the people around him either. He had a knack for fitting in when needed but there was always exceptions, especially in the Royal Castle area.

He had dressed himself up in a suit for this job so that he fit in with a day tour of the Castle and the area around it. He figured it was a smart way to get in the area and waited for the tour to lead them into an area he could get himself away from them.

"This is the area where the past children of royalty would come to enjoy what the outside had to offer as they were still guarded behind the walls of the castle..." The female tour guide rambled on and on about things as they made their way through as Cirven just followed like some sort of puppet on some strings. He wasn't particularly listening but caught bits and pieces. "...The Kings of the past would stand up at that balcony and address their people who watched from below..." A slight grunt came from Cirven as he heard more of the comments from the tour guide.

After she had explained more about the balcony area the tour group started to move to follow her where Cirven slowly moved away from the group and jumped into the shadows that the balcony gave off. He silently sighed out from his relief from getting away from the boring tour as he moved through the shadows that the area around the castle gave off.

He climbed up the side of the building following the shadows where he found himself onto some shadows on the balcony area that the past kings stood on. Even though the tour might have been boring to him that didn't mean he didn't feel a sense of nostalgia being on the balcony. He moved deeper into the castle where he found the person he was supposed to guard from a assassination attempt, Markus Strauss.

Strauss was a political figure that worked under the king. He was one of the only men who knew about the secrets going on in the world around them with most governments and because of that was made into a target. He had only recently gotten his new position though which was why he had not learned of the dangers. Plus he was very prideful and thought he could handle things himself which wasn't all that wrong. He had survived past assassinations through his own luck it had seemed. Things like him not drinking from a certain glass, shots from a weapon missing him due to him moving at the last second from remembering he forgot something, The castle guards saving him suddenly from an attack, etc. Strauss's wife had started having mages protecting him without his knowledge which was where Cirven currently came in. Cirven had known a few men like him in the past and those men either learned their luck could run out and made precautions or found out the hard way of how their luck ran out.

He watched the man from the shadows as he worked which involved looking over paper after paper, for a little while but then decided to scope out the area more after hearing a weird sound like something heavy dropping. When he went outside to check there were multiple garbed men with weapons making their way towards the room that Strauss was in. They had dealt with the guards in the area silently and if it wasn't for Cirven's enhanced senses he would have not noticed it. Cirven was still hiding in the shadows so he simply made his way towards them and made a fake version of himself appear behind them that seemed to appear out of nowhere like a ghost.

"Yo! You can't just go and do something crazy while I have seen you, right?" The group of men turned shockingly to see the purple haired man standing in behind them. "Or are you all just trying to rush this whole thing? I understand if you are scared but..." Quickly some of the masked men through out magical enhanced weapons towards the fake Cirven which all hit and caused it to fall over accompanied by fake blood.

"That should shut him up.. Lets keep moving.." One of the garbed men spoke out and then started to move with the rest of the group. "That guy wasn't even worth our time. He was outnumbered anyways so it was only a matter of time before we did him in just like we will the politician so we can cash in.." The garbed man spoke out more which was weird for any assassins to speak out so much. Cirven was listening while he was using his magic to be inside of the shadows and be undetected by the assassins just like when he was watching Strauss.

He didn't think much into what the man had said because he knew that they knew nothing about him so it only made sense that they thought he was weak, especially after seemingly killing him with their quick combined attack. All that attack really did was give Cirven some info on the skill of the assassin, though it was a small amount. He could feel a magical presence from each of them but they did not seem as strong as others Cirven had met much less the metallic devil himself.

Before the assassins could get much further, Cirven came out of the shadows in front of them and let out a sigh. "I was trying to talk to you over there..." There was annoyance in his tone. Not the type to be fearful of but the type that a child would have after being told they couldn't have or do something. This threw the masked and garbed assassins off which quickly caused them to assume their fighting stances with each holding a different variety of weapon. "You a zombie or something?!" The garbed man spoke out and threw a dagger at Cirven. Cirven's hand became metallic and deflected the dagger sent his way. "I'm not a zombie. I'm just talented." He grinned at the assailants across from him after his show of skill.

They did not lose their composure but instead each dashed in towards Cirven aiming to attack him. The one man who was talking stood back and seemed to be watching. The first of the nine men swung down a sword at Cirven but wad dodged towards another of the men who held a pair of axes. The man slashed the axes about but Cirven used his metallic hands to parry each attack and block them when needed while he slowly moved backwards. Another of the men came from behind with a spear and aimed to ram it through Cirven but he managed to parry both of the axes and jump into the air just dodging the spear aimed towards him.

Another of the men aimed a bow at the airborne Cirven and launched an arrow through the air at him. Cirven caught the arrow just before it could penetrate his skin and broke it in the same hand. Before he could land out of the air, another of the men jumped into the air towards him holding a shield in front of him. The shield and the man bashed into Cirven sending him into a nearby wall and breaking through it causing smoke and debris to cover the area the two went through the wall. "Got em..." The man spoke as he tried to lift up his shield but stopped as he felt something holding it from moving. He tried to pull it a few more times but could not. His shield then broke into two and each piece was in each of Cirven's hands who then started to munch away on the shield like someone would a sandwich. The man tried to attack Cirven as he ate but all of his attempts to kick or punch him was met with nothing but air until finally the shield was completely gone. The now ex-shield user swung another fist towards Cirven but was quickly met with a metallic black pole that Cirven's arm had quickly become which sent him flying by his partners and into a wall where he laid unconscious.

"Don't let that distract you. Keep it coming. I'm the personal guard for the day after all so que the cliche good guy line because I'm stopping your plans." Cirven moved towards his opponents who were only stunned by their companions defeat for a second it seemed as they rushed back in after Cirven.

One carrying a hammer swung it around over and over aiming for Cirven's head but found himself missing due to the slow speed of his attacks. He swung one last time towards Cirven who used his metallic clawed hand to slice through the hilt of the hammer and then quickly across the chest of the wielder, who fell to the floor with a grunt of pain. Two of the men who wielded dual swords charged at Cirven and swung their blades around rapidly causing him to go on the defensive. He dodged and parried attack after attack until he heard foot steps behind him. This time it was a man wielding a halberd that was charging at him from behind. The two men he was dealing with suddenly came at him from two different ways which would have forced him to have to block their attacks and would have left him a sitting duck for the charging man behind him. Before the blades could make contact with him Cirven's hands became engulfed in a purple aura and the aura of a red-eyed monster came from off his body. He quickly dashed forward and passed both men who were attacking him. Their swords were cut in half as well as their bodies suffering from the slashing attack Cirven had just done to them. "Making me try a bit harder will only leave you being hurt worse." He spoke out as the two men fell to the ground bloodied.

The halberd wielder continued to rush to Cirven even though his friends had been quickly dealt with. He let out a barrage of slashes and stabs all while using his range against his opponent forcing Cirven to again be forced to dodge and parry while looking for an opening. The halberd came down towards Cirven again but this time was caught in his hand and Cirven's other hand morphed into a gun and shot the man in the chest with a metal round which dropped him to the ground also.

The demon had scratches all over his body from where he barely dodged attacks but that didn't seem to phase him at all as he smiled at his last five opponents. A smile that was of pure excitement and the want for more.

Mercs vs a Metal Devil Empty Re: Mercs vs a Metal Devil

Back with Strauss, the sounds of fighting could be heard as he was trying to focus on his work. He grew fearful of what was actually causing the sounds and attempted to leave his office room only to find out that the door out was stuck shut by something on the other side. A chunk of metal was placed in front of the door by Cirven after he had left the man to make sure Strauss did not interfere with his protection of the man. He couldn't be seen after all so he had to make sure of it.

The last four assailants who had attacked Cirven earlier each moved to make another combined effort against their opponent. They knew they could not defeat him one on one and even the man who was watching looked like he joined in on the offensive. "all at once, huh? Makes it easier for me really." Cirven mocked them and unlike last time he took the offensive before they could. The swordsman lead the charge again and moved to attack while the others took up positions for the assault.

He took in a deep breathe of air until his cheeks were puffed out and then released a massive blast of metal shrapnel in front of him which hit the swordsman head on leaving him completely shredded by the attack. Along with the blast of metal a black smoke covered the hall area which blinded the men. "Four left..." Cirven's voice could be heard in the smoke and caused each man to quickly swing and shoot/throw their weapons in the direction. There was an issue though. They were each separated but knew that it would be stupid if they made a noise at all.

The axe wielder stuck moved through the smoke with his axes in front of him and his eyes darting around. Beads of sweat forming over his brow with each careful step he took. He then grew anxious and swung his axes in front of him in a mix of fear and anger. He grunted out as he did so which was not smart at all. Suddenly a claw ripped through the man's back causing him to let out a loud grunt of pain. The claw was then followed up by a swift metal enhanced kick to the back of his head which dropped him. The sounds of his defeat caused the others to quickly look towards where the sounds came from. The assailant with the bow shot a quick arrow through the smoke and towards the area where the sounds were heard.

The arrow simply moved through the air with a slight whizzing noise. A noise which would give him away to a certain dog. Seconds after the arrow was fired a clawed hand came out of the smoke and snatched up the man's leg making him fall to the ground where he was met with the quick swipe of a blunt piece of metal. He only was able to let out a couple small cries of pain before being dealt with.

The spear user kept moving his spear around in front of him while watching his sides and listening for anything. The sounds of fighting could be heard by him and with each one he quickly jolted to confront it. After the second set of sounds were heard he moved towards them to try and find what had happened. This lead him to his foot bumping into something on the floor. He tried to wave the smoke away and saw one of his companions on the ground below him. He jumped back where he moved into the arms of Cirven that slammed both of his fists into both sides of the man leaving the man no time to make any sort of noise but the sound of his body collapsing onto the ground.

The last man, the leader of the assailants held out a large kunai in each hand as he focused on all of the sounds. He had stopped in the smoke and simply waited. He knew if he moved around or waved his weapons about that it could be a bad decision. He was dealing with someone who had no reason to run from them at all so he expected some sort of attack. "Smart guy, huh?" Cirven spoke out to the last man. "I doubt you will talk back to me. Probably have already figured out that my sense are much better than yours. Thing is I have other ways of finding you..."

The black smoke started to be sucked into something and then swirl around in a sort of vortex. The vortex even pulled the leader towards it as it pulled in the black smoke. A red eye gave off a glow on the other side of the swirling black smoke with the claws being quickly seen quickly moving from the other side of the vortx. "Found you." All the leader could do was raise up his kunai to block as Cirven stopped the vortex and rushed to his opponent, slamming his claws into him as he made it to him and then moving behind him. "Told you.. All I wanted to do was talk." The leader dropped to the ground as his new injuries bleed out. The sounds of foot steps could be heard moving towards him. The sounds of fighting and things breaking probably wasn't too cleansing to any guards nearby at all.

"Welp... Did my part it looks like." He spoke out and moved to the door that he had left held shut by a chunk of metal. He removed the chunk of metal and then morphed into the shadows thinking the Strauss would simply blame this on some of the guards that were about to show up with the combination of his luck.

As Cirven left the area he thought if Strauss was actually lucky at all. He did somehow get him to defend him but Cirven decided to not dwell on it and just left. He had done his job and now only looked to be paid for it, especially after not killing any of the assailants so that they could get all of them in custody for questioning.
