Post by Shipping Goddess 13th August 2016, 8:14 pm

Job Title: To Save a Bleak Future
    Rank: A Rank
Player Requirements: Can't be from a Dark Guild, Thread must be a minimum of 50 posts long, each post being a minimum of 500 words. Minimum of 3 mages must partake on this job.
    Job Requirements: Defeat the boss
    Job Location: Calm Sea
Job Description: The Fell Dragon has struck once again!

For those of you who don't know, the Fell Dragon is a being of another world. Wether we'd call it god, demon, or dragon is beyond us, because it seems to be a combination of the three. It likes to call itself a dragon, however. Every time this dragon supposedly dies, it is sent back to its original world, only to return to terrorize us once again. If this being is left alive, its roar of death will ravage the land, and the human race will be brought to extinction.

The dragon itself is nigh invincible. Its size is that akin to an entire country, with its body being indestructable. The only part of its body where it can be hurt is a body - the human it possesed for its vessel - that rests on its head. If you kill that body, you kill the dragon. Do not worry, that body is not innocent. It willingly let itself be possesed by the Fell Dragon to seek destruction on the world. This person's body is beyond arrest. It can only be purged.

The dragon is currently above the Calm Sea, killing every human there (which consists of vacationers and pirates) with its intense power. The only thing you need to do is find a way to get atop its head, where you can attempt to defeat it. All hope lays in your hands. Oh, last thing. A cult follows the Fell Dragon to the ends of the earth. The Fell Dragon brainwashed them, tricked them into thinking they have transcended humanity. The Fell Dragon will summon members of the cult to fight you, or to use as meatshields.
    Enemies:

Enemies are not rolled for. During the first person's post when on the Fell Dragon's back (once you actually get up there it starts) 4 of each enemy type minus the boss get spawned. This continues every time that first person's post comes, and enemies do stack. Ie if you didn't defeat a few Berserkers, mpre will still spawn anyways. Also, no enemy is mandatory to defeat but the boss.

Weak: Paladins - Balanced units on a horse. They have no exploitable downfalls, however have no admirable assets as well. They will fight to the best of their ability to protect the Fell Dragon. They deal A Ranked damage with their swords.
    Abilities:

Normal: Berserkers - These guys hit hard. Really hard. I mean really REALLY hard. Their downfalls are their bad vitality, taking only 4 A Ranks worth of damage before falling, and the fact that they aren't the deftest people around. They have bad accuracy, but hit hard enough to make up for it. Deal 1 and a half S Rank damage with their mighty axes.
    Abilities:

Strong: Generals - Indestructable walls that are people. Their only flaw is their weakness to spell damage and they're slow as hell. They all carry a lance and deal S Rank damage upon hit. They have 10 A damage's worth of HP.
    Abilities:

Boss: The Fell Dragon - The vessel that the Fell Dragon used to inhabit its body. It wants nothing more than the destruction of mankind... For some reason. The body is no longer alive, normally mortal wounds such as headshots or stabs to the heart are no more than fleshwounds to it. It won't move from the spot it's in, however it will speak to the characters and make conversation before the official battle begins. The Fell Dragon can't move from its spot, making it bad at dodging. This doesn't mean it finds no way to defend itself. It will summon the other enemies still alive to take hits for it. He will stop at nothing to find you destroyed. It takes 20 A Ranks worth of damage to take the Fell Dragon down.
    Abilities:
    Spells:

Reward: Every member gets the Title (if you don't have one) - "The Tactician"
    Also
One member out of the group may get the weapon Falchion. The others each get a Book of Naga.

Hey there Izayuki, I changed everything you asked, however I don't want approval yet. Instead of an A Rank Spell, would you be alright with me giving a different UA as a reward? Me giving the winners a misc. A rank spell just seems so... I dunno, out of place or something. I wanted the rewards to be along the lines of the theme of the job itself.

Alrighty after some thinking I came up with two skills I really like. However the bad part was, considering the site has so many balancers in place I had to nerf them like crazy.

Number 1 idea, and the idea I want more than number 2 - Galeforce, an ability that lets the user's cooldown reduce to 0 as long as it defeats a PvE enemy with said spell. Only activates once per spell, only works when fighting NPC enemies, doesn't negate the mana pool drainage, and only works with spells B rank or below. (I'm serious I nerfed this. Generally its just "Kill somebody and move again. Once per turn")

Idea 2 would probably be Lucky Seven, which would increase their speed and reaction time by 30% for the first seven turns.

How would one of these be for a reward? Good, bad?

Honestly, any UAs earned from jobs are usually just plot-related elements. Like being able to see spirits, or to walk in other peoples dreams, etc. However, most rewards that actually effect combat are items earned, not abilities.

I don't see the first idea being so easily approved, I'll be honest. But the Lucky Seven might work, with a decent cooldown. I still would recommend it be an item, however, and not a UA, simply because it must take up an item slot if it isn't solely a noncombat/plot power. You could probably add a bit more buff and all to an item as well.

    Does that make sense? ^^

Alright this is my last shot at my own idea before I just make the reward something basic. Could I make everyone else get a weapon that is a cross between a spell and a weapon? What I mean in specific is, the weapon would be a tome, that once read aloud would unleash a spell. However, that spell would only do the user rank MELEE damage, and the two abilities for the weapon would be passive abilities for the weapon itself?

That is, in fact, an item in itself. Not a weapon. I see a lot of tomes made into magical item. So making it a maximum of Legendary in rank and giving it two abilities seems alright to me. Just note it would take up an item slot of anyone who accepted this reward. ^^

2 I put the description of what occurs when the tome is read aloud. When the book is read, this happens. If I were to make the actual attack an ability then that'd be a waste, as if I made a Legendary Item nothing but a simple book, it kinda makes it have only 1 ability rather than 2. That's why i said earlier could I make it a weapon, not an Item. With a weapon i could say "This is how it attacks, and these are the abilities that it has. With the way you're putting it it seems as if the item is nothing but a book, and the book has an ability that is an attack, and the second ability supports the first. That seems like a complete waste.

3 I mean 10. The number ten. It mitigates a permanent 10 damage. Not 10%

    Spoiler:

Ah, I see now. Here's the thing- you can't have an active ability and a passive ability. Whether or not you make this an item or weapon(which would be fine), it can only have two abilities. One ability can be this active reading spell(fill out the full active ability template for it please). Then it's other ability can be a single passive if you wish, or just another active.

    Apologies for the confusion.

Alright, I'll edit it. To save time however, as this will be its primary form of attacking and it WILL only do melee damage, can i or can't I make the CD 0 on it. It can still only be used once a post, however the CD would be 0 just because of the sheer tiny amount of damage it does (compared to a spell)

If it deals melee damage, I don't mind it not having a cooldown.
