The magic council’s hive sat right atop the mountain and even from outside the city the roads from Era could be seen winding up towards the great base… While the Council’s headquarters certainly did look grand upon that mountain the infamous Famine had been stowed so much deeper than a capitol building. Cell 100982, the unit that was obviously deeper down within in the underground prison then a cozy cell like 700 or 3004 easier to get to from the entrance into the maximum security hold. The prison was an endless series of bricked halls tunneled through the interior of the large mountain like a giant anthill. Dim lacrimas lights were spaced against the halls scarcely to leave the place in a dusty gloom. Without hesitation you could say it was a dark and eerie place, unusually quiet even for a jail.

Some considered the declines further down into the prison to be the ‘mouths of hell’ and there wasn’t much question why for the deeper you went down into the prison of Era the worse the villains staring through the bars were.…Barbarians, Terrorists, scruffy looking brigand’s, mass arsonists and murders… The petite brunette sitting in the dark of the narrow cell 100982 seemed very misplaced. Rather than her signature hooded jumpsuit Famine had been garbed in a grey camisole which hung ever so loosely against her light flesh, pale like a coffee with too much milk and sugar.  The spaghetti straps gave a clean view to the uppermost portion of her back and her shoulder blade where the bleach white spot stood against her skin.

It was somewhere into a week, likely two in solitary confinement. Famine hadn’t been an easy prisoner since day one...  Day 3: She tried smashing the cuffs off of her wrists, slamming the magic resistant cuffs against the cold bricked surface of the cell floor. The prison wardens had eventually been drawn to the racket and to stop her destruction a chain had been welded to the wall behind her, attached to the bed of the cuff to keep her hands locked around her back. Day 5:  When representatives for the council had gone in to interrogate her, she didn’t spit up anything of use instead she only got herself in more trouble. When her magic was cut off this didn’t stop hypnosis ability she had possessed, for the power didn’t necessarily originate from her or her magic. Sapphire hues had glew to crimson. Famine had only been able to entrance one of the formal men with her mind trick, she’d been so close to of convincing him to un cuff her and open the gate when she was smacked to the ground by the other man in the room and caught red handed. Her gaze was deemed malevolent and now she was to remain blinded, a black bandana tied over her eyes.  Two weeks in the dark, alone, and still had been enough to boil the sanity out of her, burn down the heart she still occasionally showed.

The council was likely discussing her fate some hundreds of feet above on the surface and what could she do down here in solitary other than quite literally rot. The weeks in solitary confinement was enough to psychologically evolve a person. You didn’t see the sun, you only spoke with another person in the rarest circumstance, you didn’t move. You just existed.

Clink. Clink. A rune Knight guard looked over his shoulder, aware of a presence in the chamber in which he sat on guard on a wooden stool. A mop and a bucket near where he sat, adjacent from the door beside which he was. There was nothing to take note of, only the cold brick floor, and walls. "God damn rats..." The knight would scoff at the invisible rodents from his stool, and then promptly cross his arms and tilt his head down, dozing back off to dream land, where the girls remembered his name. Clink. Clink. A softball size sphere rolled out from behind the mop bucket. transparent and crystalline, the yellow hued sphere lifted itself in to the air and hovered around the Rune Knight and through the door across from him, that led to a flight of spiraling stairs that continued down for quite a ways.

With no light to illuminate the path, the sphere itself glowed enough to reveal the stairs just beneath it, as it glided down the stairwell. A light approaching hinted towards another party ascending the steps. Quickly the sphere's glow ceased, and it tucked itself in to the corner of a step. A pair of rune knights, one of whom carried a torch ascended past, without noticing the small sphere in the corner. Once past, the sphere's glow returned to it, and it continued on down the steps until it reached a hallway, with several barred archways. The sphere hovered along, passing archway after archway, each containing a menacing looking individual. Until the sphere came to a bound woman, blindfolded and chained did the sphere stop.

The sphere passed easily between the bars, and floated about the maiden. "Famine, is that you?" A voice rang. "I'm certain it must be." Suddenly, a voice echoed. "Who's there!?" A rune knight approached to inspect the cell in which the bound woman was kept. He peered in to the cell, but saw nothing but the bewitching lady, who had caused a comrade of his a great deal of torment. "Fucking bitch..." He uttered under his breath, and then stormed off. "That was close..." The sphere whispered. Clink. Clink. It rolled out from underneath the witch's bed.

Though blinded Famine wasn't unaware of her surroundings. She'd clung onto every little sound since she had been down here, every dribble of water leaking from the worn ceiling of her cell, every foot fall as the knights made their guard rounds. Famine, even through her blinds, had been able to see the slightest hue of brightness bleeding through the cloth over her eyes. A new magic swirled the air like a breeze...She'd been in this pace with magic so long it was as obvious as the scream of a whistle. Then, the ghostly presence spoke. Though hesitant, the prisoner gingerly opened her mouth as if to speak, though was cut short--

She winced only slightly at the sudden calling out of the guard, shoulders slackening oce again as she heard him grumble away. The mage waited until she could no longer hear the shuffling of armor to speak, taking a moment to remember how to actually use a voice having been in here so long. "...And who might you be?" The mage whispered to the new being under her breath, like murmuring a chant.

A light chuckle range out from the sphere, which floated up in to the air in front of Famine. It hovered side to side, as if examining her. "Me? Oh, I'm nobody important. Well, to you I might be." Quickly, the sphere hovered back between the bars and in to the corridor, to make certain there were no more Rune Knights approaching and then swayed back through them. "Man, they really don't take good care of their prisoners, do they? I bet it smells awful in here." The sphere spoke with a mockingly upbeat tone, as it bounced about in the air around the chamber, getting a good close up of all the cracks and stains inside of the atrocious prison cell.

"I bet you'd like to get out of here, wouldn't you?" The sphere spoke, as it returned to hovering in front of Famine. "I bet they're deciding whether or not to put you to death, or just leave you down here to rot. Which would you say is the worst penalty? I'd rather die myself, to be honest. This is kind of a drag." A bright light resonated from the sphere, blinding even from behind the blindfold on Famine's face. When the light receded, a figure stood in front of the witch, one that she couldn't identify so easily. "What if I told you, I could get you out?"

Following the voice and light from the sphere Famine craned her neck slightly to follow the crystal ball's path. Famine thought to provide some input of her living condition here as a prisoner but thought not too. For he, or whatever the form she spoke too could see the claustrophobic cell space, the binding of her form. This is what you got for defying the law. Her mouth stiffened into a thin line, of course she didn't want to rot in here, she had goals, duties, a guild she still needed to look over... vengeance she wished to carry out. Her pale palms knotted behind her back into tiny fists, knuckles jutting hard and white."Death is a cowards way out, really." she managed through clenched teeth. did she want to die, no. did she wish to remain imprisoned here, no. There really was no. There was no real option she liked and thus she remained answering....until his last inquiry  "I'd tell you to prove it." She hissed, leaning forward with the whisper the jingling of chain behind her.

The sudden movement prompted the figure to chuckle under his breath, startled somewhat. "My, that got you excited, didn't it?" He laughed mockingly as he leaned in, coming within an inch of her face. "I'll take that as an "I'll do anything" sort of answer." The figure stood up and back away. "As you've probably guessed, I'm not actually here. I'm in some far off place, doing what I enjoy doing on the outside." As he spoke, he paced about the chamber, examining the cell, making faces at all of the disgusting little details, like the rat hole in the corner, beside which he knelt down and looked in to. "But, I can be anywhere that my little orb can be, which means that I -can- be here, right now, and if I were willing, I -could- cut you out of those uncomfortable looking shackles, if I were given the proper incentive."

The figure vanished, or at least the image of him disappeared. In to the small crystal sphere, that hovered about the chamber. once again it floated out between the bars, to make sure the coast was clear, and floated back in and towards the witch. "You see, I've been accumulating a lot of power lately, and still I require, a lot, more. When I heard that the Guild Master of Basilisk Fang was being held prisoner in Era, I thought to myself that this would be a great opportunity for us to get to know one another, and maybe come to some sort of understanding... You want freedom, I want more power. So, your Guild follows you... You follow me, everyone wins! That's fair right?"

If Famine could see she would have glowered at the male, how he mocked her predicament, how she felt him close in towards her bound form."I wouldn't say anything." She objected in an attempt to salvage her pride, what little she had left as a prisoner. Her hands visibly knotted harder into fists, the girl otherwise unmoving as he spoke. Famine would have rolled her eyes at how the voice bragged... But that didn't worry her. What did was the escape he offered, the price he hinted she and her guild would pay for it. "What will my guild get in return? We too desire this kind of power after what happened to us in Magnolia..." She paused, resting her voice for a moment before she bartered further."You may not be here in the flesh, but I sense your power... It pars up to his, The Fairy Master. The one who wiped us out in an instant..." Famine explained until all at once she summarized what it was she wanted, "You help my guild, they help you." It was her final offer, no more no less... She determined herself not to take anything else even if the penalty to refuse him more resulted in her remaining imprisoned she'd take it over sending her members to work, to work with nothing in return.
